The facilities were excellent — they even provided charcoal for the outdoor braai and firewood for the indoor fireplace. Visiting in May when the temperatures start to drop, this thoughtful touch made the stay absolutely perfect. It's really hard to find something to critique.
Christof (10/5): - Perfectly located close to Clarens and Bethlehem. Facilities are exceptional, and the hosts were wonderful. Re-stocking of fire wood and milk daily, and even a few home-baked sweet treats. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

David (10/5): Baris Guesthouse is in a league of its own! - Minda is an exceptional host, she takes pride in her beautiful farm, and goes the extra mile to ensure that her guests are comfortable. The cottage is pristine, and includes everything you need for your stay. The tastefully styled farmhouse unit is charming, and seamlessly integrates with all of its modern necessities. The farm is immaculate and the manicured rolling lawns and exquisite gardens are very well kept. The bed is really comfortable and there is a fan for hotter nights, and a wood stove fireplace for those cosy cooler evenings. There is a braai facility and a private garden for each unit, which is such a nice touch, and the cottages are cleaned daily. This was our second time staying at Baris Guesthouse and we will most definitely return. Dave & Katie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely nothing.

Kershia (10/5): Exceptional - The environment where it was situated, the cleanliness of the place. The vintage look was absolutely refreshing. The peace and quiet felt like we were staying by ourselves in a home. The host was very friendly and accommodating, they provided one with everything needed for self catering and even a personal braai space with all equipment. The bathroom was beautiful and clean and the fire place created such an amazing atmosphere. It was definitely hard to leave and I would recommend everybody try out this place atleast once. . I loved everything

De (10/5): 110/10 - Minda is really lovely and helps with whatever you need. The place is in exceptional condition and one of the best places we have stayed in. We have booked with Baris for the second time this year and it was even better than the 1st time we stayed here. Try the braai package that they offer - exceptional!!! thank you Baris

It would be convinient and helpful to have the bathroom mat to prevent accidents. A mop or cloth would help to clean after making a mess. It was not nice sleeping in unchanged sheets throughout the visit.
Tiaan (8/5): Highly recommended base to explore the Clarens area - Beautiful environment, nice hiking trail, kid loved feeding the goats, cheesecake at restaurant is fantastic, unit was comfortable, braai area was pleasant, birds in garden a delight, undercover parking appreciated, WiFi reception good, DStv full package, tea, coffee, sugar and milk stocked, cleaner every day. Microwave is very low power to the point of being useless

Peaceful and restful with all the attention to detail. Decor was impressive and well stocked kitchen which gave it that homely yet authentic farm stay feel! Shower gel or body wash could be included with the shampoo in the bathroom.

Raygaanah (10/5): Awesome stay at Baris Farm🤩 - The owner (Minda) is so kind and welcoming. The unit was so comfortable and absolutely beatifully decorated. The farm is also beautiful and impeccably maintained. Its very convenient that the Baris Monger (restaurant) is only a few meters away, they serve delicious food! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! There was mention on the website and info sheet in the room about a hiking trail. But there is no signage or little map of where you can walk/hike around. Doesnt feel right to just walk around the property. Maybe there are off limits areas that they should maybe stipulate. But other than tiny thing, absolutely amazing place to stay!!!
Maggie (10/5): The Most Picturesque Stay in Clarens - Baris is our favourite place to stay in Clarens. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, with a wood fire, amazing comfy king bed, stunning claw-foot bathtub, and full kitchen. We always appreciate the private braai area to cook up some local produce. The restaurant/cafe on site is so special, serving an INCREDIBLE breakfast and loads of tasty preserves and cheeses. The sheep and goats on the property are always fun to watch, too. Hosts are so lovely and we always feel so welcome. Simply perfect.

Host was really nice and helped us get settled in immediately without any issues. This didn't affect our overall satisfaction with the stay which was great but just a note for the non-dog people out there. There are quite a few dogs on the property and although they leave you alone for the most part. We had a really tough time keeping them away while eating at the monger even with the staff trying to keep them out., they kept trying to jump on the tables and grab our food which kind of ruined the experience at the monger. Not a huge deal but just something to note if you're not a dog person

She fulfilled our request for a bowl of berries and non-alcoholic champagne and added extra brownies! The farm is a lovely weekend break and there is much to see and do in the town nearby, Clarens.

Laverne (10/5): Perfect stopover near Clarens - It was our second stay and hopefully not our last. What a wonderful place with everything you could possibly need. It is set on a very pretty farm and easy to reach Clarens or Bethlehem. Minda is amazing and does everything she can to make you feel at home. We were welcomed with delicious brownies waiting for us in our room and the fire all set up for us to light. They also have Braai meals you can pre-order to cook in your own private Braai complete with a beautifully made Salad and farm bread. Definitely a stop you need to make. Thank you. There is nothing we didn't like.

It's immaculately clean and the linen, bedding and towels were of a very high quality, which to us is an important indicator of a property. The cottage is so beautifully decorated and the koeksisters with a welcome note was such a lovely touch! Thank you for being so patient when we arrived later than planned. Breakfast on the stoep at the restaurant on site was delicious and the gorgeous view of the surroundings is a perfect example of slow farm living. The drive into Clarens is not far at all. This is our second visit and we'll definitely be back!! Nothing.

We received such a warm welcome with delicious freshly made brownies. We were sorry that our stay was so short. We did not manage to try the breakfast, goats cheese ice-cream, cheeses and cheesecake.
