We enjoyed personal touches of the hosts, wonderful fresh breakfast and nice garden. Also the staff and overall vibe was fantastic It’s very close to the highway. You can hear the cars passing.

Wolfgang (9/5): Schön für einen kurzen Aufenthalt - Die Lage und das Gründstück mit Pool waren sehr schön, auch das Frühstück war gut. Unser Zimmer „ Garden“ war sehr renovierungsbedürftig, das Bad nur zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Nachts fing immer mal wieder der Kühlschrank an zu röhren. Das Bett war in Ordnung. Leider haben wir die anderen Zimmer nicht gesehen.

Carolin (10/5): Dreamy location with beautiful garden and pool near Stellenbosch - My mum and I really enjoyed our stay here! Everything was so detailed and made with love, you could see and feel that the owners are hosting with passion and a great heart! The staff was super friendly too. The garden and the pool are perfect and I am still dreaming about having breakfast underneath the trees in the garden! We would definitely love to come back and stay again!

Fabian (7/5): Schönes Haus mit wunderschönem Garten, aber Unterkunft Garden Villa nicht zu empfehlen - Super schöne Anlage, leckeres Frühstück, gute Lage und die Inhaber und Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett. Wir haben im Guest Haus Garden Villa übernachtet und leider war das Zimmer nicht wirklich sauber. Wir hatten sehr viele Silberfische im Zimmer und auch das Badezimmer war nicht sauber. Leider war schon beim Betreten des Zimmers ein muffiger Geruch sehr präsent.

The lovely host, Theresa ,is very welcoming and obliging. Beautiful views and fabulous garden. Only wish we’d been earlier in the year to see the Agapanthus. Enjoyable round the pool and additional bonus to see the ducks in the pond from the decking. Sadly we were in a room at the back so had no view but that was our fault for booking late! Would make sure we were looking out to the mountains on our next stay. Room was a little tired and needs updating. Charge points for computers would be useful.

Stanley (9/5): Abundance of serenity - It is a great location just a few meters from the main road and a few km from either Stellenbosch or Somerset West. During load-shedding, there is no water for use. I requested a change of bedding, and they only changed the towels.

Florian (2/5): Very poor - The hotel is located right next to a two-lane highway. Constant car noise. There are several dogs that do their business right on the lawn next to the pool and everywhere. It was not removed. The breakfast was not good. The butter had jam in it from I dont know who. The coffee was bad - probably instant. Overall not recommended.

Chris (8/5): We will go back. - The atmosphere was excellent. It feels like you are in the country, with lots of birds, fresh air and a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The owners will meet you in the morning at breakfast, which gives your visit a personal touch. Our bed was perfectly comfortable. The location is well-situated, close to wineries, restaurants and the Root 44 market. Nothing.
Oliver (10/5): The best place I’ve ever stayed! - Everything about the Guesthouse was outstanding - the spacious and comfortable room, the friendly staff and owner, and the pool and views were just incredible! This is without doubt, the most special place I have ever stayed and feel so lucky to have experienced it! Nothing, it was perfect. The only issue was it is slightly out of Stellenbosch, but Ubers were easy to pick up.

The bed was firm and clean and loved the option of being able to have wine option to purchase in case you did not bring. Neighbouring guests using your room entrance for their yoga moves🫣.

Nidha (8/5): Very good - We loved the pool and braai area, very relaxing. The hosts were very accommodating. The room was well equipped and very clean. We paid for a four sleeper, but it was a three sleeper and my son had to sleep on a floor mattress. If you're being charged for a four sleeper unit, and someone has to pay to sleep on the floor that's not okay.

The manor feels like a Victorian English palace, absolutely stunning. I am a sucker for Victorian style living so this was right up my alleyway. Isabella (1/5): Awful - avoid! Deceiving pictures, shabby house, no wi-fi, terrible hospitality and problem solving - Do not stay at this property!! We booked into this guest house for a few easy nights instead of staying with family. My husband and I both work for ourselves and need to be connected at all times. From the start, this property was shocking - the building itself is run down, it barely looks like the photos. Secondly, we arrived to no hot water - my husband was told - after 15 hours of travelling - to shower 'in the pool'. To make matters worse, the wi-fi was then broken, with the hostess offering zero solutions and only problems and making excuses. What ensued was five days of immense stress and upset, with us having to stay away from the guest house to get wifi so we could work and be on call, and not enjoy the stay at al. To make matters worse, they pretended it was fixed, so we came home one day planning to send a bunch of emails, and then the whole property was out. We were then told they'd refund us a night - which we are STILL waiting for 3 weeks later, so they lied. Truly shocking level of hospitality! Also, there are dogs running around the property - including a huge German shepherd who comes into the rooms and swims in the pool. We are dog lovers, so this is fine, but this should not be only mentioned after the dogs have come in the room, etc. Honestly, avoid this place at all costs - there are countless guest houses in the area which won't lie about facilities, ignore you, promise stuff then don't deliver and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth and a ruined 5 days out of a trip. Avoid avoid avoid. My husband and I both work in hotels - I am a leading travel editor and journalist, and he is a hotelier, so we know bad when we see it. Do better owners!

Assheton (2/5): Do NOT stay here. Not as advertised. We had to leave on 2nd day to save our holiday. But no refund - The room was large and clean (although the bathroom was small and cramped). Friendly pet dog! This was NOT as advertised. First, this is not a spa. There is a spa operating across the road, but this is totally separate from the guest house. Second, no mention that this property is directly on top of THE main road, and so continual noise of traffic. Third, there is NO restaurant on site, and NO breakfast. No food or drink is available. Fourth, the grounds are smaller than represented and rather run-down; Fifth, although the staff acknowledged the above, they were unsympathetic. Instead said 'read the small print'. Sixth, there is no refund policy. We left after the second day, and they still wanted to rent our room out to others.
