- Mokoena (7/5): - It was very clean, the staff were professional and friendly. It was very safe, 24 hour security and a guard on the gate. The swimming pool was always sealed, we had to constantly request for it to be opened and it was timed. You can't celabrate with your family after 8 you're summoned to your rooms. Monkeys were close by looking for food. The parking was absolutely terrible on a step hill and they changed your parking spot daily. No self catering and the inhouse restaurant was very expensive. The day visitors made the loudest noice but the stay in guests had to be quite. It's more of a couples retreat than a family vacation spot.

- Berrington (9/5): The stay was worth it. - Everything was comfortable almost above our expectations - the bed, the room, and the breakfast. I hated that I had to leave so soon.
- Simone (6/5): Was ok but not coming back - Location Driveway,‘bathrooms were not clean, the lady on the phone when I asked for a hairdryer was rude

- Steven (5/5): Overall, the stay was okay, but it definitely could have been better. In my opinion, - The pool was spotless and provided the perfect place to cool off after a long day. The air conditioning worked flawlessly throughout my stay, making the room very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was cleaned thoroughly. Overall, I had a pleasant and relaxing experience. The Wi-Fi connection was very poor and didn’t work properly throughout my stay. I eventually had to use my phone as a hotspot just to get my laptop connected and complete my work.
The place also does not match the images or descriptions shown on the website or accommodation platforms. The listing really needs to be updated to reflect the property accurately.
The room itself was extremely small and felt cramped, making it difficult to move around or work comfortably. It also lacked proper ventilation. When we arrived, the room smelled damp and not fresh, which made the space feel even more closed-in. The rooms could benefit from better airflow and a layout that creates a more open, comfortable environment.
- Londiwe (8/5): Good - The staff was very nice and welcoming, loved my stay there Didn’t have access to the facility’s wifi, but it’s not a train smash

- Dikeledi Petunia (10/5): - The room was as it was advertised and clean. The staff was very helpful to anything when y asked. The location perfect, we really enliyes our stay There was nothing to hate at the place and we stayed 5 nights. But just wish it was a self catering
- Japhta (6/5): It was very pleasant - It was good and the location was fine as well The room have only shower
- Nozizwe DC (5/5): - The location is good. The room was at the back of the main house with no patio or view — nothing like the one advertised on the site. Be sure to check with the establishment about available rooms before booking.

Only issue was the bathroom and toilet were upstairs from the bedroom and I was suffering from swollen feet, so it was a bit difficult for me coz i nearly slipped😊 The parking was very steep so we had difficulty offloading our luggage.
You have a beautiful set up and scenery. Food was so delicious and well presented, thank you. Much love n blessings 🙏 The toilet was too tight. Not enough space

- Ntokozo (4/5): I hardly stayed always arrived early hours of morning only to sleep. The little time I spent there was the morning while - The staff was very helpful and friendly Switches aren’t working. Kept on dripping. Nightmare
- Zoleka (9/5): Perfect family spot and well located. - Love the vibe . It was greenery all around without mosquitoes. The restaurant is beautiful, their food was delicious. The waiter was kind and informative and patient with our elderly parents. The manager Zinhle oh what a lovely lady attentive to guests. Check in was smooth . The rooms are clean , everything inside them worked. I was in the family room really loved the having a big bed and a small bed. And when I say big bed I mean giant bed . The fridge is not your standard tiny bar fridge no stove but you have a microwave I made instant oats for the toddler for the duration of our stay. There are glasses, plates , bowls, mugs saucers. You should buy water for drinking , pick a brand your use to drinking from home ,from the spar grocery shop which is literally a 5 minutes walk away. There is also la Lucia mall which is about 10 minutes walk away. Of course it’s still South Africa walk in the day you will be okay. Did I mention there is a private beach just 3 streets away but the waves there are strong and there is no life guards so just to walk on shallow end , my dad was there everyday for our 4 day stay by himself in the morning he only lost a flip flop. Okay back to the hotel other reviews say the parking is awkward I think it’s fine it’s in the yard secure with a lock up gate we hired a Toyota Corolla , we slept without any worry. There are parking spots that are up hill but there are parking bays at the bottom. We reversed drove up to make a u turn then headed out the gate, really a learner drive would be okay as long as you have a good hand break and balancing technique. Remember it’s a mountain area so there are steps . Parents just need to be attentive of their kids to not run up the stairs their an inconsistent sizes and are a rough tile to prevent slipping but kids may fall because of not looking before they step. The pool is lovely not to deep . It’s deep in the center. Nothing at all.

- Farai (7/5): A great location with exceptional staff, but the rooms need refurbishment for the hotel to truly live up to its boutique - The location is excellent — so close to the beach and within easy reach of the mall, which made getting around very convenient. I appreciated the variety of room options, the swimming pool, and having a restaurant on site, which was really great.
What truly stood out was the staff. Candice was incredibly helpful in assisting with date changes, adding an extra room for my family, and resolving an issue with the booking link by offering alternative solutions. Z also checked in on us during our stay and, when she realised our room hadn’t been cleaned, she handled it professionally and ensured an apology was made. Marchy gave us a warm welcome on arrival, which set a great tone.
I also want to commend the security guards — they were very professional, firm yet kind, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Overall, the team was attentive, responsive, and genuinely caring. I was disappointed by the condition of the rooms, which felt dated compared to how they appear in the photos. The bathroom was particularly damp and mouldy, which was concerning for us as we were travelling with a 17-month-old baby. As other guests have mentioned, the property would really benefit from refurbishments — the location and concept are excellent, but the state of the rooms lets it down.
Another area for improvement is the coordination between the restaurant and the coffee shop. It was frustrating not being able to order coffee or tea through the restaurant and having to pay separately at the coffee shop. At one point, the coffee shop was closed while the restaurant was still open, which meant we couldn’t order tea at all. From a customer experience perspective, this could be streamlined for greater convenience.

- palmer (10/5): Spontaneous and fantastic - Absolutely awesome The leaky aircon
- Lebuhang (10/5): A hidden Gem Botique hotel. Will definately come back.. and will recommend to all my friends and families - We had a wonderful stay from December 25th to 30th! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect holiday getaway. A special thank you to Zee and Candice for their exceptional service and hospitality.
The food was outstanding, with delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I must also give a shout-out to the bartender for those amazing mimosas—I enjoyed them every morning! The coffee shop served coffee that was truly out of this world.
Candice went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. I highly recommend Beside Still Waters to anyone seeking a fantastic experience. We can't wait to return! Everything was perfect just wish they can close 10pm during December holidays… 😅😜coz some of us come from province that we don’t sleep😜😜
- Bathabile (10/5): - The hotel is absolutely breathtaking, great scenery and walking distance to shops and beaches! It also has an on-site restaurant for fine dining and great picture taking sites if you anything like me! It was so peaceful and lovely there, so much so that we didn't want to leave, although the place was fully booked the owner Mary Anne was so kind she organized for us to have our extended stay in her private stunning room! And even went as far as organizing a sleeping area for our daughter. The staff were so friendly and super helpful Sphe and Zinhle helped us with everything we needed and always with a smile on their faces. We honestly had such a memorable experience and can't wait to come back! Nothing!
- Meera (10/5): - The surroundings ..relaxed atmosphere
Rooms were clean
Friendly staff
Lovely kitchenette The huge step up to the bathroom
Was a bit high
- Clarice (9/5): - Loved the privacy, the amenities, easy check-in and check out, the restaurant/bar was phenomenal, and the people and staff were all helpful and friendly. Of you're an introvert ir a private person this place is great for you, you dint have to interact woth anyone if you don't want to, but if you need to speak to somebody they are willing to help. I only have a few suggestions and critics, just make the 'reception' (place where you need to leave your key for check-out) more visible and we'll known. Inside the rooms, I'd suggest beside lamps for lower lights and extension cords for charging phones next to the bed. Amd for dummies like me, a small manual for the air-conditioning so we don't leave it on accidentally.😅
- Musa (7/5): Great place if you looking for a peaceful stay - Property is close to the beach, restaurants and malls. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean The water gets brown sometimes i don’t know whether it the location or the accommodation.
- Hadebe (10/5): -
- Rev (2/5): - We were very disappointed because we expected a real hotel set-up. Which will reception area. It was more B&B setup we were meet by the security guard at gate than some guy came and took us to a room I had walk up stairs thought ankle was broken. (struggle) nothing to welcome us. Will definitely never come back. Specially for price I paid 100 rand more and we booked somewhere else. Room was clean, bed was nice and soft.
- Jaca (2/5): - I was misled by the name "Hotel" , when I arrived I was only escorted by the bar bouncer to my room, the lady on the phone was rude. At 8pm Their restaurant was already closed, the swimming pool was closed, only a loud noise from the bar. Definitely not child friendly. I left the next day to another place.
- Nadasen (6/5): - The availability The lizards in the room
- Phumla (7/5): -
- Yonela (1/5): I booked two rooms but ended using one because I was told to pay for extra for a child. The staff member to be specific - Nothing. It looked better on the pictures. The property looked old and dusty. No value for money and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Staff members were rude.
- Sithole (9/5): -
- Letchman (6/5): It was fine. - The room was not as expected but the owner assisted us with a bigger room. The bedding was full of marks that cannot be washed out. This was not acceptable because it seemed dirty. The rooms are small and dusty. The bedding not up to standard either. The venue was not as advertised on the website although it is a beautiful place. The rate charged does not match the standard of the place. The rates should be less.
- Virgil (10/5): - Great place with friendly ataff:very helpful....owner waa very concerned about the kids and made arrangements for our celebration and swimming pool for kids The curfew off the swimming pool
- Slindile (8/5): Perfect place for layover. Love the coffee shop downstairs - Easy to find. Clean place

- Nonto (8/5): quiet and peaceful - Restaurant staff to please improve.....attendance time but also accuracy...waitress forgot my scrambled egg
- Mthembu (8/5): - Location, Security, Staff Nothing
- Angelique (1/5): - Niets Accomodatie adverteert met een leuke foto. Kamers met balkon en zicht op het zwembad. Niets is waar. Ze hebben het woord balkon weggelaten. Je komt in een klein donker benauwd hok met tralies voor de deur. Zonder ramen. Als je depressief bent dan is het een goede plek om heen te gaan.
- Amah (10/5): -
- Dlamini (9/5): - Garden Parking
- Bridgette (6/5): - Ideal location when working in this area .
Coffee shop on site is very nice . Although the service wasn't great for breakfast .
Hotel reception staff and checking in process was really great . The roomed smelled musty and stale , which wasn't pleasant .
Bedlinen was discoloured / stained and didn't smell nice , especially the pillows which were very old . The towels were also not great .
The exterior light outside the door was left on all night and shone through the glass door lighting up the room disrupting sleep .
No hairdryer available in the room .

- Bakker (8/5): Great reception - Too heavy duvet
Poor shower head Everything else
- Carol (2/5): very dissapointing experience, did not match description at all - The coffee shop attached to the property was good steep slopes, not wheelchair friendly. shower in the deep bath was not disabled friendly and very slippery. No windows in teh room for freash air. room was booked for 2 people but there was only 1 chair supplied.
