Guest Reviews
- Ralph (10/5): - Excellent property & stay!
- Jeremy (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was generally very quiet with good facilities for a small boutique one.
Although the room was nice, it is tired in some areas, such as badly stained carpet and marked up walls.
The choice of breakfast was very good and set in a nice relaxing area.
- James (10/5): - What a beautiful place ! Bay of Kotor is spectacular and this is an awesome place to stay at, and enjoy the area.
- Paul (10/5): - A warm welcome, the staff were so helpful and all aimed to please. Personally shown to your room, large impressive rooms and modern bathrooms. Nice relaxing breakfast and the evening food was impressive. Drinks available from the bar to take to the room. All in all comfortable and gorgeous decor.
- Gailey (10/5): - Just a terrific place to stay
I highly recommend this Boutique Hotel
- Pak Hung (10/5): - Very tasteful decoration, feeling at home. Staff very friendly
- Maria Paula (10/5): Great stay!! - I stayed in the Mediterranean. Great place and excellent service. Daily cleaning of the room could be better.
- Miles (10/5): AAAAA +++. Go to place in this area❤️ - Wonderful greeting by the super staff! They respond to our every need before we ever needed to ask. Great room with magnificent views of the water, mountains and other side villages. Meals were prepared to our individual wishes without needing menus. Tremendous dinner and breakfast the next morning. Definitely a go to place if you are heading this direction. We preferred staying out of the busy Old Town Kotur and we’re glad we did. It’s a great choice! Be there or be square.
- Nicole (6/5): Fine hotel but lacking in hospitality spirit - I felt that the previous reviews of this property were slightly misleading. The hotel is well situated, an hour long walk to Kotor old town (be sure to ask directions to get down to the waterfront road below the road on which the hotel is situated as this is a much nicer walk). You are also close to Perast which is a lovely little town for a meal. The hotel is on a road, and you will hear traffic noise while sitting in the outdoor areas. The breakfast area outdoors is lovely, and the breakfast staff was attentive and the food good. The front desk staff were mediocre. Quite simply there lacked a feeling of genuine hospitality and care for your enjoyment during the stay. We stayed in the room with the red details and it was quite dark. There is a patio, but small, and the door is the only window in the room so very little natural light comes in. There was no drinking water left for us upon arrival, which was the case at all other hotels we stayed at during our time in Montenegro. We had a minor ant problem in our bathroom, and the room smelled rather like a boat (musty). In sum, this was a fine place to lay your head, but by no means exceptional. I after staying I felt misled by the outstanding reviews and so felt that I should leave a review (which I rarely do).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The service from all the staff was exceptional. The meal we had in hotel was superb.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel staff was very friendly. The room was maintained and clean. If you are looking for a quiet place a few minutes drive from Kotor, this is a great option. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.
- Ric (10/5): - Great property with super helpful staff. Great location, easy access to the beach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A wonderful friendly hotel where the staff couldn’t do enough for you. A 2 minute walk to the sea but handy enough for sights of interest. Fantastic food !
- Rade (10/5): Modern touch of class abutting an ancient world - Hotel was marvelous and a phenomenal value. Breakfast and dinners were scrumptious, including classic Montenegrin cuisine. Location is far enough away from the city center to avoid the crowds, yet close enough to get a healthy walk back and forth. NOTE: Don’t walk to town on main road. Instead, use the road down on the bay - safer, quieter and most charming. Staff was extraordinary and most attentive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My son and I for the second time in two years stayed at this amazing boutique hotel! This excellent property is a true gem near Kotor, very clean, skillfully decorated with five star local dining experience. Upon arrival we where greeted by our favorite receptionist and given delicious desert at no charge, we felt we had returned home!
It has been a true pleasure to get to know everyone at Boutique Hotel Casa del Mare Pietra from our cleaning lady to the chef of the restaurant, from receptionists to all of the waitstaff and baristas!!!!
Thank you very much! See you again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was nice and accommodating. Rooms are large and very comfortable, with wonderful views. Location on street meant some difficulty sleeping at night due to vehicle noise. Ordered breakfast item from the menu and it did not arrive as described, but not a big deal as it was still tasty. Overall very happy with my stay.
- Sb (10/5): - It’s a small hotel and the staff really took care of us. Really appreciated the freshly prepared delicacies that the chef prepared . The reception helped out with anything we needed. Loved the hotel.
- tirtsa (10/5): Herzeg-nobi, perast, naygushi. - Evrey think was 10.
Chef serja was ammazing. He took care forr all our needs. (he backed spechel bread for me- gluten free).
- Edna (8/5): - Very accommodating and the staff, very friendly and helpful.
- eyal (10/5): Great hotel - Amazing boutiqe hotel,great location,best morning boufe
- Roger (10/5): - Beautiful place. Nice breakfast. Important to know that this is not all that close to the Old City ... requires a cab or a beautiful 30 minute walk along the water.
- thomas (6/5): - Hotel is fine but has no elevator. Did not expect five flights of steps
- dave (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely holiday! Great views and lovely room! Hotel staff were very accommodating! Perfect location.... away from the busyness of the old town but still plenty of restaurants around the area
- Karma (8/5): - We had an excellent stay and were particularly pleased with the staff at the reception who were extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful.
The view from our hotel room was simply gorgeous. Waking up to such a view is absolutely amazing!
All in all, an excellent getaway for a few days! Highly recommended!
- Rachael (10/5): A must stay. - This is a special place and beautiful. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt taken care of. A beautiful property with top-notch service. Highly recommend.
- Natasha (10/5): - Lovely hotel with a great breakfast - 45mins walk into kotor centre but we enjoyed the fact we were able to drive out to other places around Montenegro very easily from the hotel. Only downside was no tea & coffee facilities in the rooms!
- AJT (10/5): - Superb hotel and staff deserves 5 stars. Ask and you recieve. The reception staff are beyond suberb! I 100% recommend and that really doesn't happen often.
- Nicole (10/5): Amazing Experience for ur 2 Week Honeymoon - My husband and I made this hotel our home base for our 2 week Montenegrin honeymoon. We could not say enough good things about our stay. The two women at the front desk were so helpful and kind, recommending places to go or park or things to do. The room was clean and well designed with a very nice rain shower head in the bathroom. The restaurant was amazing, the staff made every meal special with incredible breakfast options and well prepared dinners. They were so friendly and also were able to recommended places that we shouldn't miss on our stay. We could go on and on saying more good things. Highly recommend, you will definitely enjoy your stay at the Casa Del Mare Pietra!
- JOHN (10/5): Bay of Kotor - Good food, good service and wonderful Bay of Kotor view.
- Michael (10/5): Fabulous Stay. - This hotel is fabulous, rooms were quite large and spotless. The place has a sense of chic about it. Breakfast was amazing, nice buffet full of continental style meats, pastries and also a hot breakfast menu made to order with any kind of eggs you could possibly want. Hotel only has 8 rooms so nice quiet, with a small pool and lounge area for sun bathing. The location is a little secluded from the Old Town of Kotor. Might be a bit far to walk for some, probably about 45 mins to the City Walls but we just got a 5 minute taxi back & forth for about €5 each way. This is probably in the top 2 or 3 hotels located in the bay and close to the old town. There is another 5 star hotel located just across the road which is directly on the waters edge while there is a busy enough road in front of Mare del Pietra. However I found this hotel much more affordable and great value for money. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in and would highly recommend.
- Robert (10/5): Recommend 100% - An excellent boutique hotel in all respects... unbelievable breakfast, comfy room although no coffee making... just a tip when driving... not easy to view so many properties in traffic and asked for directions, got another 2km down road (twice)... also listed tel nbr was not hotel nbr...
...but would recommend 100% !!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were amazing and cound not do enough for us frm the time we checked in until we left.
Breakfast was outstanding and had a wide variety of choices thenks to their chef.
- Britany (10/5): Wow - One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at! Upon check in, we were greeted with a beverage. The staff were some of the best we've ever had experience with. The room was huge (especially for Europe) and we loved the view from the balcony. The shower was pretty spectacular too. The wifi worked great as well! We did eat at the restaurant and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. A wonderful place to stay if you are headed to Kotor.
- Patricia (10/5): Lovely small hotel on the road into Kotor. - The staff are fresh, friendly and efficient. The room is lovely with a view over the lake. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive, plus you can order from the breakfast menu. Within walking distance of several good restaurants. We walked down the beach road for dinner and there were lots of locals out walking, as well. Pay parking was easy to find near Old Town, an easy drive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Beautiful place, perfect service, if you have a car. Next to the main road so it’s a bit noisy.
- Korrene (10/5): Amazing hotel - Beautiful boutique style hotel with amazing rooms, comfortable beds, and breathtaking view of the mountains and water
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional Hotel in Kotor - We really loved this hotel, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The sea views were beautiful, The room large and spotlessly clean . breakfast exceptional, We rented a car in Debrovnik and drove to Kotor for a few days to explore Montenegro. It is about a five minute drive or taxi from the old town . Wish all the hotels we stayed at were as nice as this one.
- Susan (4/5): If you are not ready to Open for the season-Don't! - Hotel is quite a ways outside Old Town Kotor. Staff is polite, tv didn't work for first 2 days. The Air Conditioning did not work for 2 days. Didn't have water in town for 6 hours so you couldn't shower. Hotel did not have a big enough water storage to accommodate guests. Most of food on menu was not available in their restaurant because they had just opened and they said they hadn't yet stocked kitchen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent boutique hotel - ideal for couples. - Good quality hotel. Very nice rooms, with reasonable view overlooking main road to bay below and mountains behind. Nice pool and comfortable terrace in front of hotel. Copious breakfast.
Unfortunately arrived near midnight from airport and no where open nearby for dinner at that time, and no food available in hotel..
- Joseph (10/5): Hidden gem - Stunning boutique hotel with a great personal approach from the staff.
- Graham (10/5): Fantastic, quiet location with wonderful view - We were moved to the Casa del Mar Amfora as the Petra was unexpectedly still not open. However we were in for a treat...upgraded and had fantastic view across water. Private beach and great food served on decking built over beach. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
- Austin (10/5): Superb staff and great standard of hotel. - Superb location, away from the busy town but close enough to visit if needed. Very picturesque setting although there is a road between the hotel and bay.
We were particularly impressed by the very friendly and professional bar staff, namely Uros, Branko and the receptionist Tijana. The three of them made our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were really nice people.
- Ahmed (10/5): Best hotel in Montenegro! - One of the best hotels I've stayed in a while. Rooftop swimming pool with views of the sea and mountains was spectacular. Room was beautiful and perfectly finished. Customer service is out of this world. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. The best in class!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely boutique hotel, staff were absolutely fantastic and could not be any more helpful. Really comfortable bed and brilliant shower with lovely amenities. Breakfast was incredible, definitely recommend the pancakes!
- Julie (10/5): Supper hotel with great staff - The hotel was excellent and we would certainly recommend it. The staff were superb, they couldn't do enough to help and went out of their way in every way.
The room was lovely, very spacious, superb views and a lovely bathroom.
The pool area was tastefully laid out and spotlessly clean, you do need to be there in the morning and early afternoon to get the best of the sun.
We ate dinner in the hotel one evening, which was very good and the service was great. It was quiet though, but still a great experience and lovely setting outside.
Breakfast was included, with a super choice of cooked dishes and an extensive buffet.
Thank you everyone for a great stay and a special mention to the two ladies on reception - you were both exceptional.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Superb hotel - location, staff, overall experience - The hotel was great - would absolutely recommend staying there while in Kotor Bay.
- James (10/5): Truly beautiful room. Exceptional service. - One of the nicest rooms I've seen in years. Exceptional welcoming at check-in and outstanding service. Beautiful view. Great restaurant as well. Very memorable. Only wish I could have stayed longer.
- Max72 (10/5): Beautiful hotel with fantastic views - We came Montenegro to celebrate my partners birthday and the hotel did not disappoint. The hotel provided luxurious but understated accommodation. It met our requirements in every way. Small but perfectly formed sums up the hotel nicely. The location is a bit further from Kotor than I expected and it is not really walkable on a hot day, although that said we did walk along the seafront to Kotor once and the views are lovely and we were able to stop at different bars along the way. I would recommend just hopping in a taxi as it is only 5 euros to town. The hotel staff were lovely and went above and beyond in many ways. We had a surprise birthday cake delivered to the room, which was a lovely gesture from the hotel. All staff we encountered had very good English and were able to deal with all our enquiries.
- huong (10/5): - This is the most elegant boutique hotel we ever stayed in any country in Europe. Gorgeous view of the bay of Kotor, staff is excellent, room is spacious & very comfortable.
- Amaury (8/5): - Good:
- comfortable bed
- nice view
- good breakfast
- quiet but noisy air conditioning
Not so good:
- staff english level was very low. Outside masseuse could speak better english
- don't depend on packed lunch if you have to leave early. They might agreed the night before but you won't get anything in the morning
- ridiculously small sauna (1 person max)
