Guest Reviews
- Alastair (10/5): Charming cottage with everything you would need for a short or long stay. - This is a charming little cottage near to the centre of the village. It has a lovely garden. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you would need for a short or long stay. We were offered a menu of breakfast items. The arrangement is that the items you choose are left in the fridge for you to prepare. We chose the continental breakfast, which was excellent. Its a good arrangement to be left to prepare breakfast as and when it suits. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
- Duncan (10/5): Absolutely lovely. Highly recommend. - Excellent choice of breakfast items offered, from continental to full English to salmon etc. All left in the fridge for us to cook at our leisure. Cereal, muffins and fruit juice also.
Separate lounge, bedroom , shower room and kitchen- converted cow shed. Sofas and bed extremely comfortable. Beautifully decorated with lovely furniture. Sooo cosy. Home from home. We are definitely returning. Mila, the owner is lovely too. Nothing! All wonderful.
- Abouelfath (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and welcoming home. The house is tastefully decorated, warm, and full of charm, with a lovely garden that adds to its peaceful atmosphere. It is equipped with all the necessary amenities, making the stay extremely comfortable.
The host was exceptionally kind, attentive, and hospitable, always available to assist and ensure everything was in order. I truly appreciated her warmth and professionalism.
I have absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a pleasant and relaxing experience.
- Karen (9/5): It was a pleasure to stay here. Mila & Bill were both lovely to talk to. I have already recommended it & would l - It was very pretty & a good size. It had a lovely atmosphere.
The water was hot & the facilities were good. Having WiFi was very useful.
The breakfast was lovely.
Having a parking space outside the cottage was excellent & felt very protected. The bed was a little soft for us. I personally didn’t get on well with the combination microwave oven & do better with a separate microwave & oven. Mila was very understanding about that, so thanks again.
- william (10/5): Excellent - Excellent Very private
- Patrik (9/5): relaxed and relaxed - What a lovely and cosy B&B. Strongly recommended. Beautiful Place, silent and perfect to discover Cambridge. Mila was such a friendly woman. Breakfast excellent. All in the fridge and cooked by your self. Nice to sit outside with a glass of wine ora a bear. All in all a nearly perfect B&B. Thy Mila

- Paul (9/5): Excellent - Facilities Decoration Host Location Welcome Breakfast Not understanding the heating but made do!
- Larry (8/5): Comfortable accommodation, friendly owners, well located for exploring places of interest. - Excellent breakfast Not an issue but would have liked an oven rather than just a hob.

- Kathryn (10/5): Very comfortable, quaint little self-contained annex, delicious breakfasts provided - just perfect! - Lovely property, in a beautiful Fen village, very comfortable and perfect for two people. It was also very dog friendly, and whilst, as one review mentions, there is no secure area for dogs it is easy to nip out with them added to which there is a vast network of footpaths close by.
Our hosts Bill and Mila couldn’t have been more hospitable and the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. We will be back!! Nothing - we loved it!

- Ruth (10/5): Lovely, relaxing break & just what we needed! - Breakfasts were delicious, lovely cosy accommodation which was well-equipped with beautiful china and was lovely & quiet. Bed was really comfortable & had good nights sleep every night. Loved the area & there are some beautiful walks around the village & surrounding area. Made very welcome by the owners and we would definitely visit again. Through no fault of the property owner but very limited options for eating out in Fenstanton if you are travelling with a dog! We were sent out of the bar in the local pub & were told we had to sit in the garden!
- Colin (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Mila is such a lovely friendly host. The accomodation is of a high standard and spotless. The location excellent for our needs. Already looking to book again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peace and pleasure in the country - It was hard to imagine a listing with a 10 rating but now we understand why. The cottage is wonderfully located. The beauty of the walks and streets is charming. The cottage is extremely private, well-equipped and smartly decorated.
It was a haven for us and we strongly recommend a stay!
- Fiona (10/5): - Lovely location and very comfortable with a great host. Very enjoyable few days
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Self contained & very quiet. Having 4 rooms is a lovely treat when you're traveling for a couple of months. Kitchen & bathroom great & the bed/pillows very comfortable.
- BobandHolly (10/5): - Quiet. Best lodging on our trip. Real shower. Breakfast on your own was great with everything the owners supplied. Extremely comfortable suite. So nice you don’t even want to go out to see what you came here to visit and see in the first place. Do go to the Dutchess pub for dinner.
- Roy (10/5): Great place to stay near Cambridge - A lovely self contained cottage, along with a lovely welcome from the host. Cook your own breakfast, another excellent quirky difference.
- karl (10/5): Nice surprise! - Wow! Wasn't expecting a lovely 4 room bungalow! Very clean and very comfortable!
Only down side is that I wasn't staying there longer!
- Emma (10/5): A lovely little find - We loved our stay at this gorgeous cottage. It had everything we needed and really was a lovely home-from-home.
The cottage is spacious and full of character. The owner gave us a friendly, warm welcome when we arrived.
We couldn’t have asked for a tastier breakfast. The owner sends you a welcome email when you book and you get to choose your breakfast. The fresh produce is then there for you to prepare yourselves. We had delicious smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with English muffins. Tea, coffee, milk and orange juice all there for you too.
You can park your car right outside the cottage. It’s a 5 minute walk to the local pubs, The Duchess and King William.
Comfy bed with high quality linen. The toiletries were a great little luxury!
We would love to stay again if we’re coming back to the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quite and Clean - I understand the need for blinds but found it a bit claustrophobic .
- kaur (10/5): - It was a lovely stay. Mila and Bill were great hozts and we would highly recommend staying here. Only one minor thing-step from kitchen leading to the bathroom has a small step which is quite sharp and can cause some pain if stepped on incorrectly, like my husband did.
- john (10/5): Perfect - Wonderfull room
- Geraldine (10/5): Delightful B&B with a difference. - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Blue Cow. Delightful, attractive and comfortable accommodation, generous breakfasts .You cook your own breakfast with food provided, but leave the clearing up for Mila to do. When we returned after dark, the lights had been put on for us, and our towels and flannels had been put on the heated towel rail. So thoughtful.
- Ade (8/5): Excellent - Local fish and chip shop good. Home from home accommodation. Easy access from A14
