• Olivea (10/5): amazing outdoor onsen + wonderful staff - We loved staying here, we wish we could have stayed longer. This would be our favorite place in this entire trip. It is in a super quiet surroundings with nature all around. The outdoor onsen was perfect, soaking while watching the snow fall and the forest in the distance: it was like heaven. The normal indoor public baths were also a nice size. The staff are very helpful and attentive. While we were checking in they asked if we plan to visit Zao Fox Village and told us we probably won't be able to get into the bus since it always gets full. And they booked a taxi for us. We cannot thank them enough for doing that. Their attention to detail while showing us around the hotel and serving us our meal was exceptional as well. The vending machines inside the hotel are very handy and good variety. One I have to say which is a personal preference, if traditional japanese food is not your cup of tea it will be a bit tricky. The food they serve is very fresh and good quality but unfortunately did not suit our palate. We did our best to eat as much as we could since wasting food is a no-go for us. Just something to keep in mind while staying here, especially since the small cafe in the neighborhood doesn't always open. The beds were the most comfortable things. We really enjoyed the tatami flooring and the futons, it was so comfortable it's hard to get out of bed. If we go back to this area we would love to stay here again.

• Juliette (10/5): - Personnel adorable, qui prend le temps d'expliquer malgré nos difficultés de communication. Un repas incroyable, très copieux, bain public en intérieur + onsen sur le toit. Merci beaucoup pour cette nuit, c'était magique !

• IN SIK (8/5): - 좀 오래된 온천타운 느낌이었지만, 청결함에 감동했고, 룸으로 배달되는 식사는 너무 감탄을 금하지 못했습니다. 다만, 근방에 편의점 등의 편의시설이 부족하고 교통편이 좀 부족합니다. 그런 부분만 해결된다면, 더 없는 힐링의 장소일 듯 합니다. 저는 렌트카를 타고 갔기 때문에 기차역에서 픽업이 되는지는 확인하지 안았습니다.
• Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! Dinner and breakfast were so delicious. We had a wonderful experience of Japanese entertainment such as onsen, wearing yukata and sleeping on futon.
• Hunter (10/5): Amazing staff and facilities in a picturesque town. - The staff were exceptional, to the point where I feel a 10 is not a high enough rating. Everyone was amazing and understanding, even with the slight language barrier. The facilities were wonderful and as a return guest, I can guarantee that any future visit I make to the area, I will be certain to stay at this property again.
• Eugene (10/5): - Incredible experience at Suzukiya Ryokan! Staff is incredible! They speak some English and you can communicate perfectly fine with all of them. They are so incredibly kind and welcoming! The room was very traditional with straw mats, room dividers, very comfortable beds on the floor. Hot spring baths indoors as well as outdoors were absolutely fantastic! They are separated by gender, you wash up before entering a really hot bath and relax like you haven't relaxed in a long time! Then they bring you traditional Japanese dinner into your room that is very very tasty! You sleep like a rock as it's super quiet and peaceful. In the morning the breakfast is also traditional Japanese and it's wonderful! They even have a free shuttle that will take you to the fox village or your train station. This place is amazing and we will be back! Arigatou gozaimasu!
• Mick (10/5): Excellent experience in a traditional Japanese Ryokan. - Onsen was high class, both inside and outside, Nice and hot too. Dinner and breakfast is a must, very nice traditional meal sets which was nicely presented with great service. Overall experience was so good we will ensure a return visit if it fits in with our travel route through our next trip to Japan. Lovely experience.

• Luana (10/5): A peaceful stay - First roykan I've tried and not disappointed! The food is very good and generous I think, I had trouble finishing everything. The place is quiet in the middle of the forest, I had a large room and the staff are very attentive to your needs. They help you with your travel plans and you can ask them to take you by car from the station to the ryokan or other places if there are no buses.I recommend it! It's a long way away, but since they offer to take you by car, it's okay. Don't hesitate to give them a call if you have any problems.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - We only booked the breakfast in room, but they took my allergies to fish, shellfish, and poultry into account and made me a great breakfast. My brothers enjoyed the traditional breakfast and room as well as the on site onsen. The only issue I had was that the toilet could use and sink could use an update.

• M (10/5): - Second time here! The staff is still friendly and helpful, the onsen baths are still great (bathing under the stars at night is so refreshing!), and our room was comfortable. It said it was technically a smoking allowed room but it didn't smell like it at all which was very nice. Ordering the ryokan breakfast is worth it for the experience as well as there being nowhere else to eat. For dinner we ate in the mid afternoom in town before checking in, and brought some snacks for the evening. Looks like the only room service besides the big dinner/breakfast meals are drinks. Found out if you call or email a day in advance of your booking you can get a free shuttle ride from the Shiroishi Zao or Shiroishi station to the ryokan, but the taxi ride from Shiroishi station was only like ¥2200. From Zao is most likely more expensive. The shuttle can still drive you wherever you want the morning of your departure for free though. The reception manager will ask about that when you check in.

• Diaboli (10/5): Tyylikäs Ryokan mukavalla maaseudulla - Tämä oli ensimmäinen kokemukseni ryokanista ja onsenista. Hotelli/ryokan oli erittäin siisti ja tyylikkäästi sisustettu. Henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä ja avuliasta, vaikka kielimuuri välillä hiukan tuotti ongelmia. Hotellin päivällinen ja aamupala olivat erinomaiset.
• Katagai (8/5): - ビジネスで一人宿泊。折角、白石蔵王まで来たので、温泉で仕事の疲れをいやそうと思い鎌先温泉を選択しました。一人部屋でしたが、広さも十分で綺麗な部屋で好印象でした。また、朝食もボリュームたっぷりでした。 旅館に着いた時、また出発するときまで玄関まで従業員の方に挨拶をいただき、旅館の良さを実感しました。
• Enrico (10/5): Inaspettatamente felice!! - Un breve soggiorno, ma molto piacevole! le persone che vi ci lavorano sono molto gentili, ma non solo gentili, in qualche modo dimostrano anche di tenerci, andando positivamente oltre la gentilezza. La camera stupenda, molto pulita. Le vasche termali mi son piaciute molto, nonsono grandissime, ma non ho mai trovato piu di un'altra persona oltre a me; il clima in generale era molto tranquillo e sereno, bello!!
• Bryan (10/5): Perfect. - The hotel was amazing and had a very accommoding staff. It is out in the middle of nowhere which makes it unique. The hot springs are the best so be prepared to relax!

• CC (10/5): Beautiful hotel - This was an amazing experience. The hotel just does above and beyond. You can arrange a pick ups / drop off from the train station. You just need to give the hotel the time of arrival or if you speak Japanese just call them, and it takes about 15 minutes. Food was great. It's all traditional Japanese though so shashimi and fish. They have hot springs but it's open with other guest. Even an outside roof hotspring it was amazing. They even drove us to the fox village. Which was super nice (may charge you a fee) although cheaper than calling a taxi. Also side note if you are looking forward to the fox village being the highlight of your trip expect the foxes to be kept in poor conditions. I would love to visit the hotel/ onsen again, but not the fox village, it was really cruel. Staff was amazing Room was absolutely beautiful Onsen/ hot spring was so relaxing Food was great (get the half board(means breakfast and dinner) no food near by) Will be back!
