Guest Reviews
- YASER (10/5): - The place was really nice. You can always take a boat ride to the white sand island. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The best part of this hotel are the staff. I have been to 5 star hotels but this is really great natural hospitality you feel that it is not training that made them that nice. Thank you for the great time. Relax and enjoy a hidden gem
- Rebecca (10/5): - The property was very well kept and grounds are beautiful with many potted plants everywhere adding to the scenery. The staff was very accommodating and professional. The property also has a restaurant and the foid was delicious with a variety of food to choose from.
- Maxwell (10/5): - This is my favorite hotel on this island. I come here every time. The restaurant has generous hours and tasty selection of food. The pool is clean and inviting as a swim is irresistible. The rooms are spacious and plenty comfortable. The resort is spread out over a large area so WiFi has many routers with different passwords for great coverage. The staff is the best. Their friendly and warm personalities make me feel happy, special, and just like family.
- Evelyn (8/5): - Convenient
- Elvira (4/5): - The view of the property was excellent. It's camiguin come on.
The only thing I didn't like is the fact that the reception wants to charge me of 1750 pesos for a missing towel. I have no interest of taking their towels. The supervisor didn't even bother to talk to me she just checking the cleaners and walking away. Then I had to stay and wait for them to look for the missing towel. My last day was ruined. Then they says the have to talk to the management as I have to pay for the towel. I had to raised my voice to get their attention. Poor receptionist she had to deal with me instead of her supervisor who just had a grumpy face walk in and out.
The fridge was dirty. There is hair in the masters bedroom. I didn't even bother to complain and they want to charge me because they can't find the one towel. Horrible.
- augustus (10/5): - Staff is excellent
- Sightsee65125050654 (10/5): Hello White Island!!! - We have stayed at Paras Beach Resort several times over the years! We really enjoy our time there! The location is perfect to take their pump boat across to White Island, which is absolutely gorgeous and stunning! We love the big family room! Thank you Paras!!!
- Ben (2/5): To pushy on towels and drinks - The checkin staff did not let us bring food and drinks they were also very pushy when it came to the towels not leaving the premises. The room was clean and nice.
- Haydee (2/5): - I did not like the stay because it was very hogow and mostly the bed was basat and baho Erns . I Think this should be fixed with better care.
- Joshua (10/5): - I loved everything. Great food, great property and excellent staff service.
- SIMON STEVE (10/5): - Nice beach and nice scenery
- 702derekh (2/5): Terrible service - I’ve been sitting 20 feet from the bar area for 30 minutes, lots of staff and not one has approached me to take my order… I’m seeing how long it takes.
- Yenerma (8/5): - We like the place
- NAKANO (8/5): 綺麗だが - 水の出が悪すぎる
シャワーのホースからも水がもれてる
- Debie (6/5): - It’s not worth the price
- kariZaila75 (6/5): The Third Time May Not Be The Charm - This is our 3rd time at this resort and we returned because of positive experiences in the past. We came in the late 90s and 2012.
Pros: Mango shake! Mango shake! Mango shake! Their bar makes the best in the Philippines!
In front of our room, hotel has hanging racks for wet gear / clothes which was very helpful.
The pool is still amazing and now has lifeguards. They have a small “beach” area now which wasn’t available in our prior visits. The resort has beautiful greenery everywhere, and tons of upgrades and expansion since our last visit. Resort is walking distance to the boats that will take you to White Island.
Cons: Keep your hotel towels close to you at all times. If you happen to lose one, they charge a crazy amount. It drove my family of 7 counting towels. Bring your own, don’t use theirs.
We stayed in the 6 person family room with the loft on top. The paint on the spiral 🌀 staircase would get sticky when wet. You will then track blue prints everywhere. They may have used the wrong type of paint for the metal stairs.
- N6225PBlukea (10/5): Great experience so far, only good things to come - Very good entertainment team, lots of things to do throughout the day. Food is really nice and there is a lot to choose from, location is suitable for everyone as the hotel is surrounded by bars, entertainment and it’s on the beach front which is nice.
- Leila (10/5): - Nice, clean, services fast and the food is very good.
- bighappyriver1 (2/5): Camiguin like a prison camp - Paras was fine, but the entire camiguin experience was like visiting a prison camp. Seriously. Took seven hours waiting in line to get the ferry there. Another three to get back. That was only the start. Had to register for three different apps ahead of time. Had to print off all the documents. Once in the island had to stop about every 5 km fit a Covid check by a police officer. Terrible experience. When I finally got on the ferry back to mainland I felt unshackled. Now I know what it’s like to get released from jail.
- Chester1494 (10/5): Relaxing Vacation - The resort was such an escape to our urban life, it had a very peaceful atmosphere. You can really relax just by sitting in one of their gazebo chairs or just enjoy the sunset by the pool. The staff were really accomodating and was super fast to respond with our requests. It is also near popular places like the White Island and local restos like Checkpoint and Northern Lights. Surely will go back to this resort when I am in Camiguin
- Annabelle (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Shane (8/5): - I really liked the pool and the service... location close to White Island boats and being on the ocean... What I did not like was the noisy party animals next door lol...
- ScottD79 (2/5): Nice hotel incompetent staff and lousy restaurant service, go elsewhere - From outside appearances this looks like the nicest hotel on the island, the pool is very nice and the location is great, however during our six night stay, we started in room 104 and after one night the floor drain in the bathroom was erupting with raw sewerage, they didn’t have a room to move us to immediately nor could they fix the problem so later that afternoon we moved to room 212, that room was in a really bad location overlooking souvenir shops at the very back of the hotel when I paid for a premium room, it also transitioned us from a king size bed to two double beds which holes were very worn, the room was hot because of the amount of sun and it was a larger room but the air conditioning unit could not keep up, the next day we were moved to room 204 which was a nice room but the hotel did not seem to do anything in a concession for that, room 204 still smelled like sewage in the bathroom but it was manageable, the service in the restaurant was horrible, they would serve you once but if you wanted to get a refill on water, it was like pulling teeth, they just didn’t come back and you had to flag them down, they added a 10% service charge to the bill so there was no incentive for them to come back, what really deserve this one star rating was upon check out, when I checked in I asked them if breakfast is included and they said no and I asked them if I could charge to a credit card when I check out in the answer was yes we take credit cards, upon checking out my incidentals and room charges were 21,000 pesos, a woman at the front desk tried to run my credit card about six times and clearly their credit card machine was off-line, I suggested that they take a picture of my credit card and run it through later and they said they cannot do that and they have no way of hand entering a credit card and I was getting late for my flight out of there, they told me I could not leave until I paid my bill in full and I said I don’t have those pesos on me and you told me you took a credit card there’s gonna be a back up plan, there was no back up plan so I said last chance take a picture of my credit card or I’m leaving I had transportation arranged, I got on a bus with my luggage and my girlfriend and we were detained immediately by their security guard so we could not leave the hotel, then as a last attempt I suggested that the hotel person come with me to an ATM, we went to two ATMs and they were also down and off-line, we were very late for our flight and had to hurry through the airport and finally the guy agreed to take a picture of our credit card we were overcharged for the taxi ride and I miserable way to exit the hotel. The staff and leader ship at that hotel should be ashamed I would not stay there again know what I recommend you do the same
- janepabillore (10/5): Perfect place! - The food and service are superb! Our personal favorite here is their Mango shake! Stayed here for 4 nights and we had an amazing stay! very relaxing and peaceful place. Thank you so much Paras Beach Resort!
- George (8/5): - Need Wifi in rooms
- lovelymb (10/5): We loved it here! - Thank you, Paras Beach Resort! We had such an amazing and memorable stay. We love the place, the pool, the food. Camiguin will always be our second home 💖
The room was great but we really wished there was hot shower.
- jsea292 (6/5): Mediocre room excellent location - We stayed at the family room. It was large but dated. Beds were uncomfortable. Crappy TV. Bathroom and shower were nothing special. Pool is very nice. If you are not willing to walk around to the restaurants like Luna and across the street you are basically confined to the mediocre restaurant at Paras Beach Resort it’s basically a tourist trap. However there are some excellent gems within a 10 minute walk in either direction. Mom and pop coffee houses on the water with homemade pancakes and baked goods! The other advantage of this hotel is the launching spot for going to White Island is basically on the hotel grounds. The hotel is mediocre at best but it’s an excellent location.
- K7805WWcathym (6/5): a relaxed and peaceful property to stay in beautiful camiguin - Stayed here for 3 nights, reception staff were very helpful and they are responsive from the booking stage until check out. Their rooms are clean and I would agree to one of the reviewer their bed is very comfy like a 5star bed feel so even if you are packed for full day island tour you will surely get a good sleep.
special thanks to the following :
Nino our 8 hours tour driver/guide, Venjun who gave a good impression of good service in took our order on the day we arrived.
To the resort manager Ms. Snooky and to the F&B manager who sat down and hear our few concerns with regards to the last dinner situation we had in their restaurant, appreciate for seeing us before we leave and will definitely will be back soon with the rest of my family.
Some of the staff in reception Julie, Marie, Edwin and bryan keep up the good work for giving a warm welcome to your guests.
In general property facility is good decent swimming pool size, two pool tables to entertain guests while having their happy hour drinks. prices for food and drinks are reasonable.
- Heaven (10/5): - Beautiful setting with lovely rooms and extremely helpful staff
- 486luket (10/5): Great nights sleep - We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were wonderful as usual and the family room was clean. walking along the each at night was great and the kids that were with us loved the pool. Can not say enough about our stay. Highly recommend this resort
- weniel2020 (10/5): The Best - I have loved Camiguin ever since I stepped on this island, I didn’t only fall in love of the place but Also I deeply fell in love with its people, the kindness, hospitality, and the genuineness.
Our visit in Camiguin is the best because of Paras Beach Resort. I value and appreciate their honesty , I unknowingly left my jewelry in the hotel room and I wasn’t aware of it at all until the hotel called me to inform me about it, i was able to get my jewelry back and I was so happy to know that There are still people I can trust. To Paras Beach Resort, thank you very much and I would love to visit Camiguin again and stay with you once more. I can’t thank you enough for the sincerity and honesty with genuine service you have offered to me and my family.
- Adventure (4/5): - Reception not so helpful, no elevator felt sorry to bellman needed to carry our suitcases up and down stairs. Room have no outlets near the side table between the beds when I complained they hand me extension. The coffee table where the hotpot to boil the water have no outlet so we need to bring the pitcher to heat the water inside the bathroom to boil the water which dangerous and poor hygiene we need to heat it on top of the toilet bowl ewwww.
- hochiminhabaya (2/5): Bad business ethics - We made reservations for 6 family rooms for December. Then they unilaterally cancelled all rooms because another customer wanted to book the same rooms on the same dates. The customer bribed the hotel by saying they will pay upfront. Blinded by upfront payment the hotel cancelled our reservations. Bad business ethics.
- Charles (10/5): Relaxing, enjoyable resort! - Nice, quiet resort. A bit of a trip to get to, but service is good, food is good, and they have a nice pool. Side trip to White Sand Island was well worth it, then rented a jetski to zoom around in front of the resort. Friendly staff and the GF even found some shopping in the gift shop.
- chicben (8/5): good ocean view - stayed in this resort for 2 nights. the location is also a jump off point to Camiguin’s white island so it is an advantage. although it has a beach, it is not so appealing to swim but we enjoyed the pool . our big boys also enjoyed the billiards and the hammock beside the pool. you can enjoy the sunset by the boardwalk with rocks too. im glad they have improved and renovated the place compared to our 1st stay more than a decade ago.
- eliterania (4/5): Charged Php 900 for a stained towel - We were staying at the resort for 4 days and 3 nights.
The hotel had a great view of white island and Mt Hibok2x BUT breakfast serving was BAD, always late.
They also charged us Php 900 (supposedly Php 1000) for stained old pool towel.
Every time we ask for a pool the will give us a folded towel BUT you will never know if there is already a stained on it. We just noticed it (stained) when you unfold the towel.
We talk to the in charge to lower the price of the towel BUT the Manager insisted since the towel in new (looks very OLD) we should be charged for it for Php 900.
IF you to this resort please be cautious on borrowing there towels. They were lots of complain about charging towel issues.
- Douglas (8/5): Good location - I spent a lot of money at the restaurant and rented 3 rooms and still was told I couldn't bring left over pizza from a local restaurant...not a good policy. Also the wifi is not good. Other than that the resort was nice.
- Rynvar (8/5): Paras Beach Resort walk.in - Each time I am low in funds and need to treat a friend, the resort accepts 'plastic cards'.
We love to hang out for breakfast, lunch or siesta/break and love the way the pizza is cooked. Love the refreshments especially the halo halo. Reasonable rate for a resort and I would recommend to family and friends.
Great view of the popular White Island Beach.
Sadly, they do not accept walk in to swim and dine. Just to dine and play billards for a fee.
Nice gazebos and hammocks.
- georgianthony (6/5): Camiguin 2019 - We spent 3 days in beautiful Camiguin. The resort was average with good view of the ocean. The place had a pool and resto and was just average offering local cuisines but nothing to boast about. We did enjoy the sizzling squid with banana which was a first and was definitely yummy.
The only downside is the lack of beach front and the only real place to swim was across the white island which you have to pay for a P450 boat ride for 3 people. Also the internet is intermittent and slow at times.
There are also lots of walking distance restaurants which offer local and international cuisines and make sure that you do not bring in food from outside.
Good trip spent with the family.
- Paolo Antonio (10/5): Excellent place to stay - We had a great time!!
- manilabelle (8/5): Nice fun family resort - Nice fun family resort to stay because this resort has pool, billiard, big restaurant , airconditioned rooms. Resort is clean. Water, coffee, fruits , toilet amenities provided. No beach.
It has security guard , big lobby, small bar underneath a tree, own motor boat to white island . ( the terminal to white island is also beside this resort. )
Transpo - airport to yumbing (where most resorts are located) , you either take the resorts van (book advance), or trycycle .
Vicinity - residential houses and eateries are around this resort. There are lots of people around this area on weekends /holiday.
- tatax2019 (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Paradise - The beach was gorgeous, the pool magnificent, the hotel rooms spacious and clean and staff were extremely nice and helpful.
The water heater though took some time to figure out and I know plumbing! I suggest simple instructions posted in the bathroom on how to use it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was by the beach, located next to the White Island boat station so lots of activities, walking distance to restaurants. Great view, breezy as well. Staff is excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good place to stay. Quick access to white beach. Just need more nights to stay there.
- Maria Estella (8/5): Fun stay at Paras Beach Resort - Paras beach resort location is really unbeatable. Just a few minutes boat ride to white island, you can really maximize your time of stay. The common areas seemed to have been newly renovated.. we got the family loft and deluxe room. The loft room is a bit far from the reception/pool area. We're supposed to get the amihan room which is located at the 2nd floor left side of reception, although rooms were big, its a bit smelly, and you dont get a nice view so we opted to get the room in front of the pool area instead. Towels inside the room seems dirty as it really looks old already, just borrow the beach towels at the reception. Overall we had a fun stay at this resort, we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner at their restaurant, serving size is big, price is midrange. All staff are friendly and they smile and greet you at every chance which we really appreciate. By the way, keep your room doors close at all times as there were a lot of mosquitos within the area.
- Rozi (2/5): Not good - The room smelled of old, the bed linen dirty On the first day there was a loud wedding that disturbed the rest, in the early morning there was a terrible noise of the workers in the kitchen! The hotel is not worth the price at all!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - At arrival, no immediate assistance, staff are just waiting for the guests to ask for help...clearly the management doesnt give much attention as they should brief their crew to give maximum customer service...very bad experience about handling a situation. Should have good communication to all the staff in general especially if there is a mandate from local government. Not to give false information that could put the guest in a bad situation and ruin their schedule.
- Marj (10/5): - Best hotel In Camiguin. Location, accomodation, service.
- Rhett (2/5): Will never go back. - Was promised a hot water kettle and free bottle water.
I was told if I wanted water I needed to purchase it. And I asked for the hot water kettle for the room and was told a kettle did not come with room and no food in the room.
You are not allowed to bring outside food into the hotel and when I asked for a menue to take to the room and order room service I was told no room service of food in the room. I tried eating in the hotel restaurant and the food did not tasted good.
My room was dirty and the loft bed was very uncomfortable. When you laid down you sank and rolled to the middle of the mattress.
The room and outside was dirty ( see pictures). Some dirty dishes and dirt not cleaned the three days I was there.
The water in the pool was dirty with dirt floating on the bottom
- Noy (8/5): - WiFi only in the lobby.
But the vacation was good
- Sylvia (8/5): - The staff are friendly. Nice place and near the beach. Need to improve on room cleanliness though. The room we stayed in has ants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice hotel, close to white island.
No free breakfast (all rooms)
- anna (10/5): Truely fantastic - Excellent... it has truely from the last time i stayed in this resort... food is a bit pricy... but all in all my daugther truely enjoyed the place.
- Joy (6/5): - The hotel is clean. The staff were friendly and approachable.Food choices are very limited and a bit pricey. It's location is good since it's very close to the White Island Ferry Terminal and the White Island itself. The resort is 10 minutes away from Mambajao which is the capital of Camiguin but there are always available transportation(motorella/habal2x) if you'd want to go to the Island's capital or to the different tourist spots in the island.
- Matt (10/5): Exceeded expectations - The hotel has some areas that are recently renovated. Very nice and reasonably priced.
- Bart (8/5): - Good facilities, near the white island and good hotel staff.
- jojo (10/5): Nice hotel for rest and recreation - Very accommodating staff..very safe..keep it up..please send my reciept thru my email..thanks
- Jenjam (8/5): Love to be back! - We still love to stay on the same resort if ever we had a chance to have another vacation in Camiguin. What we love most is there swimming pool which is clean. The food is a bit expensive but there were nearby resto where you can eat if your budget is tight. Overall, we enjoy our stay, our kids really have fun .
- William (2/5): AVOID THIS HOTEL - The front desk personnel is not honest. They will smile & lie and hope you just accept their terrible customer service. Upon arrival we were exhausted from travel and informed no outside food allowed at hotel. I'm a chef & I did not see one person eating there. The rooms do not have internet, but they'll sure give you a password. Asked twice why our phone or internet did not work. No response just their lying smile. Later they offered another room for $3,000 pesos extra that turned out to only have very week internet. I had business to do so switched hotels. Oh their beds are saggy beds from WW11 and the rooms smell dank. I'm 67 and this is the first time I've paid for 4 nights but could only stay 1. By all means stay in one of the other less expensive options and have an enjoyable time in beautiful Camiguin
- MYRNA (10/5): - Our stay at Paras Beach Resort was really an enjoyable one. The staff are nice and accommodating. I love the beddings all in white and clean.
We will consider going back to Camiguin and book a room at Paras again.
- John (2/5): Do not stay here. Food was terrible, not worth it - Dinning there was horrible, They should have a chief that has actually eaten in America before claiming to have American food on their menu. No breakfast meats to speak of, bacon, ham, sausage , has browns etc. They only offer the breakfast on weekends, and then only for two guess, even though our reservation was for 3. Monday through Friday you ordered off of the menu. I got food poisoning while there.
Each morning they were setting up for the days events, playing loud music at 7am, having a quite breakfast was impossible.
- sang90210 (10/5): We have a relaxing and pleasant stay! - They gave us welcome drinks and assisted us during our stay. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating.
- Anna (10/5): Nice view close to the White Island - Place are clean, very convenient and food are very yummy and affordable also quiet....crew are friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Helpful staff ! However food was just so so and my original room smells damp. We were given room in 4rth floor but water pressure was a problem ! Pillows smelled damp too !
- Gabriel (6/5): Make sure you keep your receipts... - I was using cash for most of my transactions, but at check out I received a bill for some things I paid in cash and some up charges for excursions other than what we agreed to. It says beach resort but there's no beach more like on the water! The food was good but the service was very slow! The pool was nice and clean! I would recommend looking for another hotel...
- Airon (10/5): Comfort at its best - Great experience! Was able to explore part of camiguin despite a very short stay. Staff are very welcoming and considerate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel with good facilities.. - Overall quite good. It has everything you need. It's not a 4 star hotel so a bit overpriced but I was happy enough. Everything worked. Good bed and bathroom.
- Waleed (6/5): Quite pleasant stay - It was a short stay yet the hotel outlets closes early and it's not convenient, pricing for the water sports and recreation are quite expensive.the food is good.
