Guest Reviews
- Margaret (8/5): -
- Marin (9/5): Great value and great location. - It's a nice touch to have the complimentary breakfast. Minimum but just right for a quick to go breakfast. The room was clean and nicer than expected. Great to have the refrigerator and microwave. Waffles possibly old. Fell apart and very dry. Everything else was great.
- Jim (7/5): -
- Armi (8/5): I love it - Comfortable bed and very clean indoor pool Just loud guests above our room
- Samantha (6/5): It was fine for sleeping during the night. - The front desk lady was nice and the pillows/bed was decent for sleeping. I didn't like the musty smell when using the AC (room 112). The room would get humid and then smell like mold. Lots of earwigs which is a sign of moisture in the rooms. I killed 3 earwigs during my day. Also didn't like the thong that was left under the desk. Definitely was cleaned thoroughly. There was also a pom pom near the end of the bed and a ear plug under the chair.
- Dawn (10/5): Very quiet and comfortable beds. Great price -
- Mina (7/5): - No breakfast for those who don't consume animal products. It's 2025....get with it!
- Hanna Louise (9/5): Knus, rustig verblijf goed bevallen.
- Phil (6/5): Not terrible, but not great. - We liked the place itself. It was quaint but the rooms were spacious, pretty clean, and we liked the amenities. We had unpacked and settled in our room, when not even an hour later, the staff rudely forced us to move rooms, because of their error. They weren't willing to adjust the price a little or do anything for the inconvenience. We didn't feel very welcome for the rest of our stay, either. The non supportive bed and less than appealing breakfast didn't help.
- Kimberly (10/5): I love the Nordic Lodge and will be back again!!! - I've stayed at the Nordic Lodge several and each time was very enjoyable. I loved the hot tub and the porch outside our room. Very relaxing. The only thing I wasn't especially happy with was that the bed was too firm for my back. That is nothing against your Inn. The bed was too firm for my back.
- Amy (7/5): Nice location, some updates. Pool and hot tub were nice. - Location was perfect. Continental breakfast was okay - terrible coffee. Our room smelled really musty. Floor / carpet in room was wet. They have have shampooed the carpet, not sure but I think this is why the room smelled... I had to wear my shoes the whole time in the room.
- Dan (8/5): We enjoyed staying there. - We liked the room always had what we needed and it was clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The wooded property was pretty. The breakfast didn’t appeal to us, mostly prepackaged or cold cereal. The coffee was good but on the cool side although a good variety of creamer.
- Wade (10/5): -
- Amanda (4/5): - We Liked the hot-tub and the size of the pool. Microwave was very outdated, some rooms had very small tvs why some had larger. The breakfast was almost expired dates. The Cereal was stale, the “hot” coffee was cold and not fresh at all. Late breakfast. Every hotel I’ve been to they start breakfast as early was 4 or as late 6. You guys have 8am which is late for most people. The Ac in our room barely worked. The shower drain drains slow.
- Karen (6/5): -
- tom (6/5): - Desperate need for an update. Rooms were dark and dated. Location.
- Jeffrey (10/5): -
- Sally (10/5): Nice comfortable hotel, reasonable price. Quiet and convenient location. - Breakfast was good with variety, and the location was within 10 minutes of our destination. Rooms are humid but probably isn't anything that could be done considering the climate. Maybe dehumidifiers.
- Angelica (10/5): -
- Kathleen (8/5): I would definitely stay here again. - The king bed room we requested was extremely comfortable, clean and neat with plenty of fresh towels. Although we didn’t have the provided breakfast, we enjoyed the coffee in our room. The staff was great..friendly and helpful.
- bhavya (4/5): Too much cost for the - Service by employees Worst value for money spent. I spent same amount for lot lot better hotels all around US
- Greg (9/5): - We really liked the location of The Nordic Lodge- it was close to downtown Sister Bay and also in proximity to Fish Creek and Ephraim. Rooms were adequate size and clean. Was hoping to see aa deer or 2 outside as our room (#201) faced the back field and forest area but we never did. Oh well. Also like the grounds...the trees, fire pit and chairs outside of the lodge. It added to the overall appearance of the Lodge. The morning breakfast was a nice add on. Nothing really. We were both satisfied with the room and location.
- Margaret (9/5): My spouse and I enjoyed the hotel and loved that it was so close to the beach! - It was nice to have breakfast included. Great way to start the day! Loved the pool and hot tub!
Liked sitting on the balcony. Missed having a hair dryer, iron and ironing board in my room. Chairs on balcony were not that comfortable.
- Kelly (1/5): - Nothing Eveything
- Anne (10/5): -
- Wilkes (10/5): -
- Mike (10/5): We would stay again - Front Desk Person Very noisy neighbors
- Amy (10/5): -
- Kimberly (10/5): Hidden gem - It was a sweet gem of a place! Owner was on premises and super sweet and helpful! It was clean, there was a pool and hot tub and the beds were comfortable and there was a nice deck and a place to fit around a fire.
- Daniel (7/5): -
- Nancy (6/5): Just ok. - Facility was ok but ability to cancel was not available. No discount was offered even though I didn't stay one of the two nights. I could hear the neighbors plumbing and fans. No discount was offered even though I didn't stay one of the two nights.
- Marilee (7/5): Went way to fast. Pleasant staff. Quiet - Breakfast was good. . The pool and hot tub was very nice and quiet. Staff was nice and got what we needed. Hard boiled eggs very bad taste. Had to throw them out. No pool towels available Saturday night.
- HEIDI (9/5): Served the purpose-would stay again. - clean, nice location and accessibility. was our 2nd stay. did not have the opportunity to use the pool or sit outside. We appreciated the late check in box. We were disappointed to learn that not only was there no breakfast available but coffee as well for people that like to get up and going before 8am. Even if it is to have a good cup of coffee on the deck or while getting ready in the room for the day. Desk staff were not interactive, appeared bored.
we were not given a wi fi code
- Nancy (8/5): Very clean and nice…would stay there again - Friendly staff…self serve breakfast was easy Elevator to second floor would have been helpful
- Malgorzata (5/5): Please consider serving coffee and not dirty water - Location Morning coffee and breakfast is a joke
- Coral (5/5): -
- Dennis (3/5): Not worth the money until they address issue with the rooms. - Close to Sister Bay. Staff is friendly and polite. The room was not clean. Food crumbs in the corner and under the bed. It has an old musty smell. Looks like the hallways have been recently remodeled, and they need to do the same for the rooms. Breakfast offering was small.
- Lovaas (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): Great stay, not so much with front desk communication - Location, value Communication with front desk on bookings was a challenge, ended up paying for I room I didn’t have a guest for due to not being able to understand what clerk was doing
- Diedrich (8/5): - The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The place could use some updating, but it did not affect our stay. We went to the pool and hot tub, and there were hoses all over on the floor. Trip hazard for older people or kids. The windows in the hot tub area were filthy! You could barely see out of them. This place really needs a rehaul! There were tables in the pool area that looked like they had been outside because they were all full.of dirt and mud on the base of them. If you are swimming and you put your feet on them, they would be full.of that. We did not eat any of the breakfast they had because it started too late (8am). We were long gone by then. We were vendors at the Marina fest they had for 2 days, so we were looking for something cheap that wouldn't cut into our profits. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The rooms were clean and that's all that counts! The young man at the front desk was very nice! The pool area could use some cleaning up, and it was very dark in there. The breakfast could start earlier (6am)
- Tara (8/5): Pleasant and relaxing. - It was very quiet, which was perfect for my getaway. Conveniently located right outside of town. There was remodeling being done on the first floor. The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The pool and hot tub area could be updated.
- HAK (10/5): -
- Moore (10/5): Excellent relaxing week in Door County - Great central location. Nice pool . Clean comfortable room.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Sprifke (8/5): - Very nicely remodeled rooms. Overall great value for the money. Nothing comes to mind
- susan (7/5): -
- Pingel (4/5): It will do..... - The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious and the shower had good water pressure. It was very dirty. Dust on everything in the hallways. Towels in the pool area were all gone. The lights in the hallway are very bright and shine right in under the room door.
- Ezell (6/5): -
- Brian (8/5): - great location larger eating area for a family
- Skry (6/5): Average stay - Location was good. Poor breakfast
- Tenzin (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): - Eggs Could be available earlier
- David (9/5): convenient for us and good check in and out. - convenient location was unable to get first floor room
- Counsell (9/5): -
- Smith (5/5): Average hotel, great location. - Room was very humid and damp, likely due to the proximity of the pool
- Cristina (6/5): It was fine but probably won’t go back. - Quiet rooms, continental breakfast, hot tub Old, musty and damp rooms, pool wasn’t heated and needs some care.
- Shawn (7/5): Comfortable room - skip the breakfast - Nice size room with comfortable beds and pillows. Room was clean. Don't plan on the breakfast.
Breakfast was nothing special. The microwavable breakfast sandwiches were not stocked/available and coffee was empty.
- Paula (3/5): Sketchy - The beds were comfortable. The rooms were not very clean and outdated. They did not take my credit card for incidentals which was odd, but when I got home, the hotel billed me for taxes for my stay which I was not informed of nor did I give them a credit card, and I booked through Booking.com. This is sketchy! I would not stay again! They need to let you know these things at check in! Do not stay here!
- Joan (9/5): - We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. The rooms were a bit dated, but that is expected in Door County. The room was clean and comfortable. Your staff was extremely polite.
- Lorraine (7/5): - Very dark, needed more lighting especially pool area. Room musty smelling but clean.
- Norman (6/5): This is a place that maybe once was - Our balcony faced the trees which made it very nice. Unfortunately nature wounds were blocked out by the sound of traffic on 42 very near the hotel.the balcony Rugs were old, needed replacement. Beds were hard, one had a plush pillow top added, the other a thin one. Lights flickered when you turned on the coffee maker, even when the AC was off. The last day we lost power completely. Tight with two beds, a desk, a dresser/tv stand and a chair. Pool was dark and poorly lit, hot tub worked great. The entire complex needed to be updated. Breakfast was a joke, waffles you put in a toaster, dry cereal, out meal bars. One day there was no cutlery, one of the guests had to pass out their own supply to the guests. Run by teenagers from Romania, Mexico, other countries, didn’t always know what they were doing. It wasn’t a disaster, but I would never come back.
- Nikki (10/5): -
- Deanna (5/5): Brief stay with no tv one of the nights. - Fair breakfast. Good location. No tv the first night. Evening staff could not fix the issue. No discount given for the first night’s stay without tv.
- Tina (10/5): - It was very clean and neat and organized! Front desk staff was very nice upon checking us in. We had 4 different rooms rented as we came as a huge family up for a trip for 2 days and they were very accommodating and helpful and the rooms were all together and ready.
- mary (7/5): -
- Mona (9/5): - Location. Great amenities for the price. Staff was all very nice and centrally located to attractions and activities Nothing
- Vickie (2/5): Never again - Terrible Better breakfast and new beds
- Zackaryah (9/5): Overall this is great value for cost, great location - Breakfast area is rather small, but has a decent selection of items carpets in the room need cleaning, some areas a bit stcky, would not want to walk around barefoot
- Kimberly (8/5): -
- Rasmussen (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, will recommend and will return next visit! - the staff were really good , thank you! Loved breakfast choices the ready to serve, heat & eat in fridge! Food Late one morn as I told the staff hey for me you have # ! food group available COFFEE! Plenty of wrapped bakery and ex breakfast bars for those heading out! Also room service everyday was special! Thank you! Hotels we use in Michigan to visit family are not doing daily service, started during Covid times. Have to request and they still dont do it. The outdoor deck could of been cleaned up but in all fairness storms came thru off and on during our short stay! Out on the deck a couple of times! grandson enjoyed pool!
- Vijay (9/5): Good experience - Location, cleanliness, staff. Cost, breakfast
- Zackaryah (8/5): - Good location, great value, family enjoyed the stay Room carpets need cleaning/shampooing, some areas were dirty and a bit sticky
- Peggy (9/5): Was good - Good location . Dog barking next door
- Broehl (8/5): -
- Stock (9/5): Very satisfied - A perfect fit for us. Way above the negative reviews. Would definitely stay again. All good
- Constance (8/5): -
- Mitchell (3/5): Poor not impressed especially for the cost . - Close to main road No easy room access. Only one key. Room smelled musty and damp. Barking dog. Smokers next door
- Delaney (2/5): We were overall disappointed with the quality and value of our room. - We liked the location, it’s on the edge of downtown sister bay so there was easy access to local attractions. Our room was pretty dirty. The carpets and even some towels were stained. It smelled bad upon arrival. The carpets were wet upon arrival (most likely due to the ac unit). One of the windows was broken so it couldn’t be closed. The breakfast was disappointing in terms of the quality and freshness of food options.
- Olson (2/5): -
- Gleesing (8/5): -
- Susan (8/5): - Breakfast was great….so many choices. Carpeting in room needs to be replaced.
- Chris (8/5): We’ll come back - Good location. Clean . Comfortable. No elevator
- Stanley (8/5): Ideally located and not a lot of little kids. - Can't compete with Al Johnson's. . Didn't not like anything.
- Sean (10/5): -
- Natalie (6/5): - Loved the hot tub and the beds were comfortable. Towels were refreshed daily. Staff was kind and courteous. The complimentary breakfast hours were a little limited (8-10am).
- Kurt (8/5): - It will be excellent when remodeling is complete and all cleaned up! Trash dumpster was overflowing and trash had blown everywhere! The grounds need to be groomed and cleaned up.
- Johnson (10/5): - What a great experience here great staff for sure everything was perfect
- Larry (10/5): -
- Brett (7/5): - The breakfast was good. They had a good selection of food. Waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, bakery, juices, milk, coffee. The beds were too soft. I like a more firm bed, just my preference.
- Seefeldt (5/5): - The location was great. Close by to a lot of local places. Check in was a little rocky. There was a lot of construction/ updates happening during out stay. The facilities were outdated. There are opportunities for updates.
- Huseth (8/5): -
- Blanca (5/5): Clean room but just ok. - Proximity to town. Location is great. Very outdated. Paper thin walls, could hear the water run in rooms above and beside us.
- Connie (5/5): Not really dog "friendly" just dog tolerated - Great location, nice quiet area, lots of outdoor space. Hot tub and pool were nice Poor customer service, when booked I received an email stating that if bringing a dog I needed to notify the facility prior to arrival because they could cancel our reservation if we just showed up with the dog. I emailed the facility twice without response, I called and left messages twice without response, finally reached someone on the third call and was informed that the fee for dogs was an additional $50.00 per night per dog! I was not able to cancel my reservation.
- Tiffany (1/5): They canceled our reservation without any explanation -
- Donna (7/5): - Good location A litte dated
- Carolyn (8/5): - It was okay, but I would have preferred the availability of fruit. Having a second microwave for a second customer
- Jerry (8/5): very satisfying - breakfast ws excellent na
- Chris (8/5): -
- Stearns (8/5): - Beautiful place and quiet we would definitely stay there again The windows needed to be clean hard to see out
