Many many times, the front freak was empty and no one to be found for questions or basic needs. Very disappointing, especially when needing to check in and out and get help with a taxi back to the airport on the night before as well as the day of our departure. They just give you a key and tHats it for your entire stay. We won’t stay here again, a little more attention would have made so much difference.

Pete (10/5): - I highly recommend Casa Naranjo if you're on a budget. It's just a few walking blocks from all the attractions, it's quiet at night, the rooms are cozy but clean, and most of all the staff is great. Ask Javier the owner about local tours, he set me up for the Volcan Pacaya hike with a great tour at a fraction of the cost online. And Maria who takes care of breakfast and the hotel overall is great and helped me with my Spanish!
Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place close to center of Antigua - The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Some of the people did not speak English which was hard for us, which is to be expected. I just bring this up to suggest you should be prepared to use some spanish. The breakfast was great- they even packed us a juice and croissant when we had to leave before breakfast hours. It was quiet there but the walls were “thin” on the one night someone was right next door. Lovely patio and courtyard. Walking distance to everything we needed.

Mark (10/5): Absolutely Wonderful!! - Case Naranjo was an amazing find in Antigua. The hotel standard is extremely high, from the comfortable mattess/bedding, the freshly made breakfast, the hotels decore and most notably the personal service. We cannot overstate how welcoming and helpful the staff was...from delivering juice and croissants to our room in advance of our 3am flight, to volunteering to walk to the Hedman bus station to purchase tickets so we wouldn't miss our volcano tour pick-up (Thanks Javier!!) Casa Naranjo was great value and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something more upscale from the hostel experience (but still very reasonably priced) in Antigua!!

Ivan (10/5): Really nice staff and great breakfast. - The hotel is not that big, but the staff and facilities were really nice. Comfy bed, hot water shower, cable TV, and WiFi. Breakfast was included and it was very complete, almost a buffet. There are many small hotels in Antigua Guatemala, and when you get late or too early, you can spend several minutes waiting for someone to open the door so you can get inside the hotel, but in Casa Naranjo, they give you a room key and a house key, so you can get in even after a long night partying, you don't need to wait for someone to open the hotel door for you.

Theodore (10/5): Exactly what you need - Hotel Casa Naranja and it's staff were terrific! A clean, quiet, cozy place just far enough (2 blocks) off the main square to be close to the action when you want it and calm when you don't. The proprietor, Javier, was very helpful with all of my questions. Lovely breakfasts and two quiet courtyards to relax and catch your breath. I highly recommend this spot and I am going back next week on my return trip through Antigua.

Jennifer (6/5): Safe and Great Service - The managers and staff at the hotel were great, and they gave excellent advise and service. Maria, who makes the breakfast, is a good cook. The rooms are well decorated but very tiny and dark. It was hard for my husband and I to move around each other. The bathroom does not have adequate lighting, so who knows what I looked like on my way out for the day. As in many colonial places in Antigua, it is easy to hear your neighbors. It is a safe place and will do in a pinch.
A M (10/5): Will stay again. - Excellent location. Small about 6 rooms one floor with 2 Court yards that are well maintained. ‎Simple but v. clean. Breakfast is decent and individually prepared. Very friendly staff who ‎spoke Spanish only. Only the manager Pati, spoke good English, was very helpful, but she was ‎only there intermittently because she overseas other places. She gave her phone number for ‎any questions. One staff member at a time, so door is locked and you must knock to get in. ‎Individual fast room wi-fi. ‎My main concern is with Hotels.com 22% fee which I think is excessive.

In addition, staff is so kind and gentle, helping me a lot with big smile. Before getting to this hotel, a member of staff asked me my schedule in Guatemala in English. She organized my travel well by booking shuttle buses to the hotel and to Panajachel. As she wasn't at the hotel on the day when I stayed, she called me to explain the way to take a bus next day. That was really helpful for me. I'm confident this hotel is the best choice for any travelers in Antigua :)

Peter (10/5): A cosy, quiet beautiful heaven - I have been several place at Hotel Naranjo. Every time I see improvements! The cleanliness is impeccable. The beds are comfortable to sleep in. The rooms have a very comfortable size, including a desk to work on. The bathrooms are in excellent state. The showers are powerful and there is plenty of hot water. The breakfast is fantastic and La Señora is preparing whatever you would like. The garden area is inviting to just hang out and enjoy the beauty of your life. I will not even think for another place in Antigua. The wifi is reliable and fast. By the way I'm since four years a global traveler and have seen lots of hotels especially in Guatemala.

The lovely garden and cúpula spaces allow for nice relaxing areas outside of your room if you want to work or just relax, and wi-fi access is great from all points. Highly recommended!
Jeff (10/5): Wonderful for a stay in Antigua - My wife, daughter and I stayed at Casa Narajo for 6 nights and had a delightful time while there. This boutique hotel -- or bed & breakfast -- provided an excellent base while we went to a local Spanish school and toured the city and surrounding areas. Besides comfortable accommodations in our room, and several locations where we could sit together in the two courtyards, the hotel provided a delicious breakfast each day complete with fresh squeezed orange juice. Moreover, the staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay.

Roland T Gunner (10/5): Historic charm centrally located - From the moment I knocked at the door, I felt warmly welcomed. The front of the hotel incorporates one of Antigua's historic buildings and the rooms further back have a historic style. Even though it's on a busy street, it was very quiet and calm inside. Breakfast was the usual Guate fare: fruit, eggs, and frijoles.
gregory c. (10/5): A bigger version of the New Orleans French Quarte - Our 3 night stay in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala was excellent. It t was a 7 unit B&B and the owners own another one nearby with 5 units.You were not given a key to enter the complex; only a key to your own unit. You knocked on the beautiful wooden outside door, someone came to the door, opened up a small sliding panel and as soon as they saw who you were you were let in. It didn't matter what time it was because there was always someone on duty in the front office.You then walked to one of the 4 front rooms facing a quaint courtyard and fountain or continues under the portico and into an other courtyard where a separate building housed 3 additional units facing another courtyard.. The grounds were beautifully kept with loads of tropical plants, shrubs and trees. There was a free cooked to order full breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice with several choices of other items to choose from. Maria, is the cook, washer and cleaner. She does it all except for what the gardener does outside. I believe his name is Antonio .Neither speaks much English but Maria tries really hard to help out at any time and she fights to try and make herself be understood. The complex is a 5-10 minute walk to almost any site in the old section of Antigua( think New Orleans Fren ch Quarter but only bigger). There are so many good restaurants and places of interest to see.The cobblestone streets can be a hazard and are not the best for walking on. Good walking shoes only !

The best part of this hotel is the staff, they make you feel like you're at home. Don Antonio is the best! very sweet and attentive, as well doña Maria, they took very good care of us. I definitely stay in Casa Naranjo in my next visit to Antigua!

The garden area with sitting area was very nice to relax in with our group. Rooms were small but for the price and location, this hotel was wonderful. Proprietors were away and their friend Hania was so helpful in managing things in their absence. They helped with making our arrangements for getting to San Juan la Laguna and offered to help with anything else we needed.

Peter (10/5): Beautiful place to relax - The hotel is about 7 minutes walking distance from Parque Central. There are excellent Restaurants very close. Chez Christophe is high class!! The Mercado is as well around the corner and always an attraction if you like local markets. The Hotel itself is very clean and spacious. Excellent showers. There are areas to relax and just enjoy life.
Janet (8/5): Beautiful quiet colonial stay - The stay was fantastic except we only had lukewarm water in the shower. Antonio(who only speaks Spanish) contacted the owner Rafa who helped rectify the situation. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.
