Guest Reviews
- Valorie (10/5): - It was very clean, I felt the comfort the moment I entered the room. The staff was the most friendly and accomadating that I have ever met. SUMMERS INN IS ON MY SPEED DIAL WHENEVER I NEED A PLACE TO STAY IN SUMMERSVILLE, W.VA! I PRAY GOD'S BLESSING ON THIS HOTEL!
- Tom (10/5): Relaxing place - Quiet older place with friendly folks. It was so relaxing, I stayed an extra night!
- David (6/5): Nothing fancy - Floor felt dirty. TV didn’t work. WiFi was spotty
- Scott (8/5): - Checkin was good, the staff was friendly. The room was warm, wintertime heater worked good.
However, the place smelled moldy and the floors are nothing more than thin plywood or OSB. You can hear everyone when they walk through the rooms-units! Also, there was snow EVERYWHERE! Had to walk through snow from the car to the room and walk back out into the snow on the way out! There was one unit-building where the snow was cleared from the parking area but, the building I was in and one other: ABSOLUTELY ZIP for snow removal!
- Colin (8/5): - Everything was ok
- John A (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay. It was very quiet and very pleasant. The rain was very clean
- John A (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Very peaceful and quiet. Will definitely stay again
- Rita (8/5): - The service was exceptional, the amenities were OK, everything is very basic. I didn’t have anything negative for experience. It was just OK. I would stay here again the cost is very reasonable.
- Mary A (6/5): - Like there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Had issues with the volume control on the TV remote. The bathroom - I have no words for how old the tub/shower was with old vinyl stick ons on the floor. No coffee maker in the room and no coffee available on premises. However, the owner seemed like a pleasant lady.
- Roy (10/5): - Its quiet and just outside of the high traffic .
Close to all restaurants, shopping , parks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet away from the city but close and convenient to all stores , restaurant and park. large room , and affordable
- marcie (10/5): - Not modernized, but clean and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The facility is very run down.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Questionable "Good" rating - While I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus during these difficult times, I am disappointed in the 7/10 rating that we based this stay on. Had I not been using my phone at night in the car to book this, I would have seen the actual 2 star rating further into the listing. It was my intention to give a stand alone property our business, instead of going with a chain. The lady at the desk was extremely nice and had even turned the heat on ahead of time for us. That is where the positives end. From the musty smell...and whatever was used to mask it...to the curtains that didn't cover the entire window...to the general disrepair of the room...this was not the comfortable stay we thought it would be. Fortunately, we were only there for the night, and left as soon as we woke up. For just a few dollars more, we could have stayed with one of several chains in the area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never using that hotel - I was treated like a criminal, no microwave in room, i believe i was charged twice for same room, once on your site and then at hotel who wanted credit card again for incidentals. Pubic hair in shower and sink while other booking i got regular size fridge, microwave and great customer service, larger room for less and mixed up bill with someone else.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Out dated but everything worked. Staff was nice. Beds were ok comfortable. Cold A/C and hot water.
- Joely (2/5): Disgusting. - I booked this room while driving back from Florida based on reviews and pictures on the site. COMPLETELY deceiving. We arrived at 12:30 am and were stuck in a building away from the main building. There was broken equipment outside of the room and inside it was rundown and completely dilapidated and disgusting. The floor had soft spots and sagged. It was not a room that was fit for anyone to stay in. We had driven for 16 hours so despite the urge to leave and eat the money we paid we stayed and propped a chair against the door. Why Hotels.com would even allow this property on their site is beyond me. I’m all about supporting small business but I’ll be second guessing myself from now on.
- Laura (8/5): Very good service - Could not have asked for a friendlier staff or better treatment. The only down side was that the bed was not comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cute and quiet place. Room was very very outdated and in need of repairs. Beds were clean a d had new sheets though. Good, comfortable beds. Could use just a little bit of extra cleaning and some repairs. Would stay again though.
- Heather (8/5): - Old building. Needs major updates. Host very helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice quiet motel just off busy interstate. - Nice motel set back from the busy highways. Spacious room with full-size fridge and microwave. Nice flatscreen tv.
Receptionist warm and helpful. Huge king bed , very comfy.
Great little hideaway.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The owner was extremely sweet! Only issue is our door wouldn’t deadbolt but did shut and lock. Was pleasantly surprised by how nice our room was.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly. The place is a little out dated but very comfortable for the price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room for the price. Clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the large room, had a full size fridge, microwave, table and chairs, great cable TV, comfortable king bed and it was very quiet there.
While it did have free wifi, it was spotty and kept cutting out.
- Brenda (8/5): - Room was clean and spacious. Owner was particularly helpful in fulfilling my needs.
- Terry (8/5): - Great Staff. Very friendly professional service.
Small property with better service than some of the larger chains.
- Nikki (10/5): - Great place, good location. Close to everything even though its in the middle of nowhere. Very clean and decorated nicely, plenty of room and parking. Will stay here again
- Neil (10/5): - Roomy,with kitchen
- Nancy (10/5): - Nice and reasonable place to stay. Lady running the place was a delight!!
- Steve (8/5): - The room was quiet. One of the light poles had been hit a few days earlier, so the lighting on the road to the room was dark.
- Lori (10/5): Very Satisfied - Was nice and peaceful, I would recommend staying, will stay again next time
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Peggy was very friendly. Room was clean. Had a musky smell. A dehumidifier is needed
- EPMusic (10/5): Great Stay - We were in room 30. There's 3 of us. The trip was kind of a working vacation for the family. The Summers Inn gave me an Old School Motel feel. Its located just off the main drag. Not Fancy.... Shouldn't expect it to be for the price IMO...... BUT OUR ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN it seemed. The room was spacious enough for what we needed. Friendly front desk. Ice machine was broke. I was told they were waiting for local repair man to get time to fix it ... That said, It was WAAAAY cheaper than most if not everything else in town. Seems to me we've found a new favorite stoppin' spot in Summersville WV
- Gemma (8/5): Summers Inn - It's an older motel, but the sheets were crisp and clean and the bed comfortable. The lady at the front desk was so sweet and kind. Couldn't get Wifi to work though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - What you expect for 45.00 but was clean and quiet. Outside appearance is rough. Would stay here again.
- Lawrence (4/5): Motel and worse - It’s a motel. The room was renovated making it clean. Not all lights worked. It wasn’t the bulbs it was the outlets. The paint still smelled fresh. Outside the room it looked like a dump. Literally garbage Wood and things. The place looked like a country mess. No ice was available. The outside of our room door was carpeted, actual rug on it.
- Marcus (10/5): - Great
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was good. Very good nite sleep. Apt was being renovated and should be nice when completed. Met our travel needs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Liked the location. Parked my truck and trailer close to my room
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was good. No traffic noise. The bed was decent. Building is very old and in disrepair. Not worth remodeling. All in all not bad for a one nighter at the cheapest place in town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was no phone in room,it smelled of cigarettes, musty smell also, maintenance of property lacked detail and pride in its work.
- Ken (8/5): - comfortable bed, big fridge and microwave and very spacious.
The bathroom is in need of a renovation. And I was hoping for a coffee maker in the room.
For a simple place to sleep it was just fine.
- Dragana (4/5): - Wi-fi was down, room smelled like cigarettes...
- Tim (6/5): - The manager was a wonderful person. I was delighted when a flock of 30 Canadian geese landed on the grounds Friday morning.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was disgusting. I don't need to add any more to that
- Debbie (8/5): - Just a quick over night stop! Clean Comfy Bed NO WiFI
- darlene (6/5): - Even though it needed cosmetic touch ups throughout the room, the beds were very comfortableand a good size. Would definitely stay overnight again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to restaurants and main highway and shopping
- Ken (6/5): You are looking for a cheap place to crash - If you come here looking to purchase five stars at ten bucks per star then you will of course be disappointed and, well, frankly, you deserve to be. If you come here looking for a basic roof over your head, heat / air conditioning, clean sheets, a decent bed, and not much more then you will be pleased.
As of this writing (Fall 2017) this is the most basic of motels. We were friendly and respectful with the nice woman at the office and were treated the same way in return.
Minor gripes, our door wouldn't latch without a bit of fiddling. The exhaust fan in the bath didn't work. The room was very mildly musty until we used the a/c to dehumidify. Don't expect blazing fast wifi.
By accepting the minor gripes we were treated to a decent night's sleep in a quiet place with clean sheets.
Check out Fran's, a local hometown restaurant in greater metropolitan downtown Summersville, the place that the route19íans never venture to see.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to restaurants and shopping - Great stay close we and conveniently located to shopping
- stevepZ3512OD (10/5): Clean and comfortable. - Clean, comfortable, quiet and good AC. Nothing fancy, older motel, but well kept and an excellent value in the area. It was all I needed for a short visit to the area. Also close to restaurants and shopping.
- Stevepatch (6/5): Nothing Special - I travel by motorcycle and camp to save money. So when I need a motel I look for the least expensive. Trip Advisor is the app I use to find the least expensive. Summers Inn is this, in Sommersville ,WV. Its older and shows it. Carpet was not vacuumed, and the smoke detector was disconnected. On the plus side, there is a large refrigerator and a microwave.
I would stay here again because the price difference was so large in the immediate area.
- lmessing7 (8/5): Very comfortable - We stayed one night while travelling. The staff were very kind and friendly. The room was clean & the bed comfy. There was a new mini fridge with a freezer compartment, a working microwave and cable TV. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The only thing missing was a blow dryer, so if you stay here, bring one. I would stay here anytime!!
- AndreaArchelle (10/5): Highly Recommend - Spent a week and its a great place if you're on a budget... it was clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful... It's close to everything in town plus very quit... It's just cable television but there is WiFi available.
- dollyweaver (2/5): NIGHTMARE - The 50 or so rooms up front have recently been renovated. The rooms way out back have not. That is where we were put. We were the first people to check in that day, so I don't understand why we were put out in the back. Filthy and stinky doesn't began to described the place. The guy in the room next to us had a garbage sack of beer cans stacked out side his door. I made pictures of this. The yellow blanket on my bed had what looked like body fluid stains all over it. We were afraid to sleep on the beds. We stayed 2 nights because after the first night we couldn't find another place to move to because it was peak leaf season This was the only place that had rooms and plenty of them. There were only 5 or so rooms up front filled for the 2 days we were there. These people should be a shamed to even put a dog in rooms out there. It needs to be closed down. The health department really needs to investigate these rooms. We were afraid to go in or out after dark. I should have demanded a refund. These booking sights needs to be more careful as to who they are dealing with, because this one was not even near as it was described.
