Guest Reviews
- Darren (8/5): Delightful place and people - Breakfast fely like home. Very nice as well as fresh. The room was perfect for what I needed and I had no issues at all with the size and comfort of the bed. Not so keen on the fact they have 3 cats. They are very well trained and caused me no issues at all but it is something I would think about before going again.

- Nikolaj (10/5): Lovely hosts! Accommodation had everything we needed including a great breakfast! -
- Gillian (9/5): Great place for an overnight stop en route to Cornwall from Bedfordshire. - The converted school is a wonderful building. The beds were very comfortable, shower excellent and breakfast lovely. Our host shared some interesting snippets of local information. We were able to arrange a later-than-usual check-in, without difficulty. Can't think of anything. (I'd have loved a tour of the building but appreciate that it's a private home!)
- Anita (8/5): Good for an overnight stay. - Very quirky with it being an old School House. Rooms were clean and tidy. Owners were sociable and a good selection of food for breakfast. The bed in our room was rather hard for me as I suffer from arthritis but for most people it would be fine.
- Alan (10/5): School house - The stay was stress free with the free parking.
The Hosts made us feel very welcome and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Kevin (10/5): Very clean & hospitable hosts. - Quiet location.

- Colin (9/5): Excellent one night stopover. - Excellent full English breakfast, very tasty and plentiful. The Old schoolhouse was full of charm and very cosy and in a quiet spot. It was close to the M5 so a good stopover point for our trip to Penzance. We would stay here again without hesitation.

- Lynne (9/5): Very pleasant with hosts that were very helpful. - The character, it was exceptionally clean and a very convenient location for where we needed to be. There was nothing really that I didn’t like. The en-suite in our room was small with little space to put toiletries but that is being picky.
- Beka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maxine (10/5): I will definitely be booking again! - My stay at the School house was excellent. Nicky and Jim made me feel very welcome.
The room was lovely, beautifully clean, and had everything I needed. The Breakfast was very tasty, and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection.

- Michael (10/5): A great quiet place to stay. - The location of the property was perfect. A great half way point rest to Cornwall. The breakfast was cooked to perfection & good quality.
- Mccowan (8/5): Very good - The room satisfied my main requirements. As a very frequent traveller I require 3 main items
- A quiet Room
- A room that is dark when the curtains are drawn
- A comfortable bed
- Rebeca (6/5): Pleasant - Cleanliness Slippery stone steps when wet
- Steven (9/5): Superb - Excellent food very pleasant stay
- Justin (8/5): Wanted to stop off on the way to Cornwall and this was ideally situated and gave us a nice restful stay before we contin - Lovely building very friendly owner and nice and quiet Nothing
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (9/5): Charming, characterful, good value. - Drove past the chool House first time round - more prominent signage would have been welcome, but not a problem. The host and hostess were warm, welcoming and friendly, and they provided an outstanding breakfast. Their marmalade and jam was so good, I bought some to take home with me. The room was homely rather than luxurious, but perfectly respectable for a good quality B&B. Our hosts recommended the Crown Inn for dinner, which was only a short drive away, and offered an outstanding meal, al fresco. I cannot think of anything I didn't like, with only an additional sign as a possible improvement.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julien (9/5): Wonderful stay in a lovely home - The School House was nicely appointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The entrance could be a problem for less able people.
- Eva (9/5): Nice B&B - The School House is a very nice, quiet place to stay, has beautifully decorated rooms, comfy beds, functional bathrooms and pretty breakfast room where the owners served us a delicious breakfast. Thank you🙂 Nothing particularly

- Mirra (10/5): Exceptional - Cute cottage style stay with beautiful interior decorated rooms. Very pleasant staff. Rooms were clean and hygienic, check in was simple and easy. Great great great bed, I was absorbed into the mattress and soft sheets for the rest of a lifetime. Peaceful and quiet getaway with lovely church bells on Sunday morning. No negative comments to make.
- Connie (9/5): would visit again - Lovely hosts. the place is located on a quiet road and the room was very comfortable
- Alan (10/5): Great place to stay , accomadating hosts. - Loverly character property Nothing
- Lynn (4/5): Interesting building - Booked it as it was a convenient stop on the way to Cornwall. Not easy to find though! Tiny, tiny bathroom and although the house is old with lots of character, there is no sound-proofing so you can hear peoples’ conversations (etc.) in other rooms. I prefer my own company at breakfast, but this place has 1 large table, so you’re sitting with other people. Thats great if you’re a sociable-morning person: I’m not 🥴
- John (9/5): Comfortable stay with amenable hosts - Sympathetically modernised old schoolhouse with off-road parking Entrance to car park a little tight
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Unable to fault. Excellent in every respect.
- Sandy (9/5): Superb -
- Perkin (9/5): Very pretty and comfortable BnB. - Charming building with excellent hosts. Splendid breakfast with full service and lots of little personal touches. A really excellent BnB. No grumbles at all.
- Sue (10/5): Lovely hosts, gorgeous property, thank you Nicky and Jim - The School House is charming, the bedroom is comfort and had everything we needed. The dining room was lovely with some great touches such as photos of from when it was a functioning school. Nicky and her husband Jim were very welcoming and clearly love living there, they have such talent and the evidence of their crafting skills add to the charm of the whole place. Nicky makes great jam! Not much, being really niggly, hen we came in at night the roses attacked us getting to the front door and could have benefited from being cut back to avoid being snagged.
- Sarah (10/5): very clean and good location - very clean
- Deborah (10/5): Friendly, clean, great hosts and amazing breakfast. - Breakfast was ordered the evening before and we got exactly what we asked for, but more if we'd have wanted.
The staff were welcoming and very friendly.
Location was stunning and not far from other places to visit.
- Gabor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Dilbahar (10/5): Exceptional - The beauty of the building the area located just to where we was going All was excellent
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - Superb home cooked breakfast with home made jams and marmalades.
Beautiful building lovingly restored.
Beautiful glasswork by the owners - some of which you can purchase.
Lovely shower.
Plenty of easy parking - but beware the speed hump!!
- Jayne (10/5): Jayne & Steve - Fabulous stay thanks
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, bfast and room. Made to feel very welcome
- Karen (8/5): Beautiful house, lovely rooms, friendly host. - Friendly owner who communicated well.
Beautiful house, nice big bedroom and bathroom. Comfy beds. Spotlessly clean. Very quiet. Nothing really. If I was pushed to find a fault, perhaps breakfast could have been a little better. We didn't request every item of the Full English breakfast. But it would have been nice to have more of the items we did choose, instead of half empty plates. But I'm nit picking as it's a really lovely place and I would highly recommend it.
- Dawn (9/5): Superb - Comfortable room; spacious ensuite; fantastic breakfast selection including beautiful fresh fruit salad and good quality local produce cooked fresh to order. More sockets needed.
- Kate (8/5): A useful venue for a Glastonbury stop - over! - We left early to travel to Glastonbury so we didn’t get breakfast. Maybe some ‘help yourself’ breakfast items 🤷🏼♀️
- Olga (10/5): - We enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Nikki and Jim. They live on property and are accessible to assist with anything we needed. The bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a wonderful shower with soft towels. The surrounding area to The School House is picturesque and calming. We would definitely return to Woolavington.
- Anthony (10/5): Beautiful location and very welcoming - Warm welcome from the start, the room was beautifully presented with great additional amenities such as a fan and a good hair dryer. We stayed in the blue room which had a beautiful view over the church. Both Nicky and Jim were fantastic and welcomed us both warmly. The breakfast menu has both full English and a wide selection of cereals and fruit salad. We will definitely be coming back to explore the local area. Honestly, nothing at all.
- Michelle (10/5): Just one night and a little sad we couldnt stay longer - House was beautiful and the hosts were friendly and chatted about the history of the house. Breakfast was lovely with homemade jams and local produce Nothing.
- Roland (8/5): Very good -
- Shaun (10/5): Old school hospitality at the old School House. - We chose to stay at the School House primarily due to it's location. We were visiting family and friends in the village. The proprietors Nikki and Tom were very warm and welcoming. Our room (Gold) was very clean and comfortable. We had a very relaxed stay and slept like a log every night. Nice view out of the window overlooking the local church yard. Lovely breakfast made of locally sourced ingredients including eggs from their very own chucks. The School House has been transformed into a very unique B&B. Some lovely touches which have kept the character of the building with original pictures and photos reflecting its past life as the village school. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be booking again. Nothing. Everything was to our satisfaction.
- Robert (10/5): Clean, comfortable, good bike storage and in an excellent position opposite church. - School House is in an excellent position on our cycle route. Bike storage was very easy and secure. The room and sitting room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Bed comfortable and room quiet. Breakfast was well organised and very tasty. It was a bit of a pain having to get a taxi into town for a meal (both local pubs seem to be closed) but if you book your taxi in advance it is not a problem. Nothing
