Guest Reviews
- Brooke (10/5): - No ac
- Xing (10/5): - Spacious room for the price. Safe and quiet as it's in the campus.
One minor problem is that parking was very far from the building. Even though the parking is supposed to be free as the parking ticket can be validated by the staff, it didn't work properly for a couple of times and I had to pay at the parking lot to get out, and the staff won't issue a refund as 'parking belong to a different department'.
- Harri (8/5): - Nice campus, excellent arboretum to have a stroll, room was a typical dorm room
- Mounir (6/5): Quite a good, affordable plage to spend 1 or 2nigh - The stay was quite good. The staff are nice, friendly and welcoming. The rooms however are basic. The mattresses are not comfortable……!!!
- Karine (8/5): - The beds weren't that comfortable. But for a family with teenagers and young adults, it was a good sleeping solution!
- Thelma (10/5): - Very good place to sray. Safe, wuiet & very cheap. The Arbotereum is a wonderful place.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Suitable for the occasion
- Hamed (4/5): - Property condition is quite bad for rental
- Yinan (6/5): - Most of the time quiet, but certain days will have noise from aircraft, since it is on the route of airplane take off. For the four days we stay, most of the days are quiet except one evening and one morning.
The shower also has problem, not a lot of water out.
- Jenna (10/5): - We just don't like the pillows. Pillows have a lot stains and its disgusting to use. But overall we enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Thank you.
- Gianella (10/5): - Personal muy atento
- George (8/5): - It's a student residence, so you know what to expect. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Towels are provided, but you need to bring your own toiletries. No food on residence, but is available on the main campus about a 10 minute walk away. Parking is free in the adjacent parking garage, but requires validation at the front desk which doesn't always work, but you can talk to a human at the exit who will raise the gate.
- Jan (6/5): - (+) Great walking around -- Arboretum! Quiet and fairly clean but work in progress on the property
(~) Good parking, but long walk and no turn back to the property entrance at exit
(-) Basic amenities not working or not present, no hangers, no utensils nor basic kitchenware (fridge and microwave OK)
We had to switch the room as the bathroom plumbing was not working, and new room had A/C going on 100% with no way to turn off -- a heater had to be supplied!
- MOHAMMED (2/5): - Some of fron desk staff were rud and not helpful
- Minyu (6/5): - Staff is not so good
- Muhammad (10/5): - Nice, place to stay
- Katema (2/5): - I need my money back as soon as possible
- Mahmoud (8/5): - Good
- Madyssen (10/5): - Stayed here for 3 nights during VELD music festival and it was great! It was a little far but where VELD is located it’s hard to get something close. We stayed in a 2 bedroom dorm and it was nice to have your own privacy in your own room when needed. The first night the ac in our first room was terrible and it was a super hot weekend but they had no problems moving us to accommodate. I would definitely stay here again.
- Joel (6/5): - It’s affordable stay for single people with not much expectation of hotel amenities. This is very basic living, and a place to comfortably sleep at night and use of shower and toilet. Bring your own hanger, iron and pad, extra pillows and towels if you are staying here. This accommodation is not suited for family vacation with kids.
- Rebecca (6/5): - Good for the price
- farid (10/5): - Great, simple clean and affordable place to stay in Toronto. Highly recommend.
- Robert (6/5): - The all gender shower was cool and the floor was so slippery I almost fell told the front desk about it you need
a rubber pad on the floor, VERY dangerous. Every place like yours has always had a rubber pad.
- Glenda (10/5): - It was a pleasant and economical stay. The room was clean. The only thing I’d recommend is to bring plates, cutlery and something to drink from because the kitchens have empty cupboards.
- Amer (10/5): - Vary good
- Manoj (6/5): - The bed was uncomfortable
- Hasan (2/5): - It was terrible stay!
Room was small than expect. It’s not residence just student housing!
There is no napkin, shampoo, sink, hairdryer anywhere even in vending machines!
Room was freaking freezing.
I got sick because of room cold.
We changed the heater 4-5 times. Also the heater is just small heater fan :D
Showers and toilets are like dog shower stalls and some are locked.
The bed made me feel like I was in my military years. extremely uncomfortable.
Old guy who is working at front desk was rude. I was asking about shower shampoo and he said its for residance guests :? Where i was staying??
And fo clerk charge me early check-in mistakely. I’m a hotelier and ı’m working at front office since 8 years.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was nice and in general, except for 2 women at the desk, the staff was really nice. However - This property is NOT in Toronto. I don't care what the address says. It is basically in a suburb of Toronto that is FAR away from Toronto. If you have a car, no problem. If you have to rely on public transport, it will take you well over an hour to get to the center of Toronto. There is a bus that will take you to Kipling metro station. From there, it's awhile to get downtown. This place should not advertise that it is in Toronto.
- Craig (2/5): Stay away - Bed was very uncomfortable, no tv in the dorm, lady that checked me in looked like she hated life and didn’t want to help me.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was our second time in here, a d if we go tp Toronto in summer again we will stay here. Having a car or knowing Toronto transit system is the must.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and neat - Nice and neat. Parking is a short walk away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Front desk staff was amazing. The rooms themselves left something to be desired but can't complain with the price point.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a great stay. I must say for the price it offers a nice comfortable dorm room. The shared washrooms are all renovated so the are nice and new, they are shared but still private which I really liked. The fitness center which is about a 5 minute walk is very well equipped. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked that we had our own kitchen, the water pressure was amazing. The location was convenient for what we were there for. We found it quiet and enjoyed walking through the Arboretum.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the property. Spacious and clean
Check in very slow
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Excellent

- Elizabeth (8/5): - I really enjoyed staying here with my family and would do it again. My only 2 complaints will be that we had a hard time getting toilet paper to our room. We asked someone who came and got our garbage out and he said he would come back and get us some and never did. So My husband went to the front desk and asked for some and he was told he would send someone and no one ever showed up. So the next morning I went again and requested some and I got two rolls. We were there for 5 days and when we got there the roll was already half way gone and it took us a day and a half to get 2 rolls. Also if you stay that long they don't come and change anything in your room, even if you leave the sign to please clean the room they don't come. Only twice 2 people came to change our washroom and kitchen garbage bags.
- Michele (6/5): Good price, but not sure if I would go back - It was okay for the price. Just a few things were off. None of the lamps were plugged in, the fridge’s hinges were on the wrong side of the door, so you had to wedge your fingers between the wall and the door to open it. All the concrete made for a very “clinical” room. The front desk person at check in was quite, not rude, just, very short with one word answers and didn’t offer any information at all unless I specifically asked (where is the parking? Is there wifi? How do I get to my room?) The morning person at check out was very friendly and nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms are good And campus is also good. Inteior is good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The AC was not working, we asked for it to be fixed, they did it in one day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was nice. I liked the closeness to the university for a weekend course
- Thomas (6/5): Small - The room is very small.
The bed is small and worn out.
There is 1 bathroom for the whole floor.
The room is relatively clean but the whole floor smells like smoke.
The best thing is just the price
- Daniel (10/5): - Good one night stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great great loved it everything was wonderful . I would recommend it to anyone. Will stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good. we stayed for 2 nights. we didnt spend too much time at place but it was a nice stay
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Apart from its being the cheapest place to stay when on a long vacation trip, there is nothing else to say good about. Parking far from the building. They are not into this kind of business so they should not try it. They don’t have the staffing for hospitality.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Quiet, peaceful and friendly front desk staff and safety
- Khasim (8/5): Good locality, decent accomodation - Nice arboretum close by, covered parking is not too far, very close to restaurants and stores and more importantly to the airport. For large families, 3 br suite is very convenient.
- CeeDee (8/5): - Good with caveats!! So you have an early morning departure from Pearson, and the Super 8 is asking for $100 (or even $80) + tax? This should be your go-to place then ($40-ish + tax) for a single person/night. This is a college residence - however, it seemed pretty well secured and decent enough for me. All toilet facilities are shared, and you get a decent cot in a single dorm room. There is Ac & the wifi worked for me. Unlike other reviewers, I did not get a room with Cinder block walls, but one that was nicely painted. If you are there on a weekend you can park right across the street (from the building entrance) for free. I guess on other days you drive quite a distance to a 'covered' parking lot (and then haul yourself & your luggage back), which has a fee of $10 which can be waived at the front desk.
A NOTE ABOUT THE BATHROOM AND THE PLACE: While I do not calk this down to humber, the other residents can be a source of bother (though a very FEW of them are around during the summer), as to how clean they leave the toilets and shared washroom facilities (in my case I witnessed two overflowing toilets - eewwww!!!), or how well they behave around the place. Not too huge of a deal breaker for me.
- JulieB (6/5): - It has cement walls and floors and it's definitely minimalist...but it's a reasonable price, bed was comfortable and staff were very helpful and friendly! Security is great too!
- Oscar (4/5): - Noisy, dirty, uncomfortable, students were drinking after hours, so you wont sleep, shared bathrooms were a mess, spiders were found in bed, half eaten food left on the fridge, quite an experience, but not a pleasant one
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here!! - Even If this was listed as a hostel instead of a hotel it is still NOT worth the money! Location was the reason we chose this place while attending wedding functions. We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights based on the description on the website but there are no amenities! The rooms had a musty smell and my daughter saw that the pips were dripping water on the carpet.. there was no room cleaning AT ALL. When asked at the desk, I was told it was Light service which means that if we run out of toilet paper, they will send some up! We stayed at McGill university hotel before and it was so nice! Thought this would be similar. I will never stay here and warn all to ask questions BEFORE booking!
- Sandroo (2/5): - Really bad hotel, and bad rooms
- Joey (6/5): - No TV, no WiFi in the room. Bedrooms have concrete walls and livingroom has concrete floor. The staffs are reasonably friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for what we paid! Pleasantly surprised - Honestly, a surprisingly pleasant stay. Location was convenient and close enough to the downtown core (about a half hour drive), there was a beautiful arboretum/garden to take pictures in. The double rooms were spacious and clean. There was a fridge, sink, toilet, and shower all included.
Only one thing wrong was one of the service desk ladies was not very helpful at all, very lazy, does not even listen to our explanation of what we need, made up excuses (for our non functioning door. It didn’t automatically lock when we close the door like it should have, when our other friends rooms did function properly). Had bad attitude and was not friendly at all. Sighed exasperatedly and rolled her eyes.
- Jeff (8/5): - Cheap. Clean. Quiet.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced and far away from everything - Really terrible, out in the middle of nowhere. Receptionist was extremely rude. I would not recommend this place if you are visiting Toronto.
- Verified traveler (4/5): should have spent the extra $40 - Showed up to a room with no sheets on the bed and the room door opened. Asked for sheets and was not provided with any. Luckily there were two bedrooms so we had to take the comforter off one bed to use this as a mattress cove and use the comforter on our bed as a blanket. 2 t shirts acted as pillowcases and we finally were able to go to sleep. Front desk students were polite but If they were from the hospitality program at Humber, then the college is failing them. We didn’t expect extravagences but providing the basic necessities would prove a worthy experience.BRING YOUR OWN LINENS IF YOU STAY HERE!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I love its environment surrounded by nature including different trees, desert plants, beautiful animals such as deer, rabbits and others.
- TJ (6/5): - This is a reasonable housing option if you are looking to save money. It is a dorm so you need to be realistic about your expectations but it worked out well for me and I saved $600.over a hotel stay. as.there. I was there at the start of the spring/summer season and the A/C couldn't be turned on yet so the rooms were hot. The WiFi signal is very weak in the rooms and hallways as you move away from elevators but the wired service was great. Washrooms are co-ed but there are two stand alone self contained bathrooms/showers if you need privacy. Location is a bit isolated if you don't have a car but there are decent TTC options from the bus terminal with two express buses. The kitchen was useful but no kettle and TV wasn't working on our floor.
- Mathilde (10/5): Will return again - Great room, amazing washroom, everything was clean. Affordable accommodation close to the airport
- Damali (8/5): Serviceable - The place was bare even for a college dorm and the bathroom wasn't in too great a condition but for a one night stay it was serviceable. I wouldn't recommend a long stay though. I like that the arboretum was nearby.
- Lynx (4/5): Not the best stay this time - There was a glass coffee table top on the desk in one of the rooms, with the stand being on its side. Not sure why it was stored in a guest room.
Towels were ok, some permanent stains on them.
The toilet was plugged and I had to plunge it constantly.
The door was sticky, and housekeeping left my room door ajar while I was away during the day.
I usually stay here when I am in town for weekend courses, and this time was just a little too much hassle to come back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Misjudging - We arrive there by taxi. Then it was dark no-one around. Had to call to found out exact where room was. Then had to walk down a road where construction was going on for almost a mile. Arrive to a horrible room not welcoming at all. Hopefully we will never experience anything like this again.
- Dana (10/5): Excellent accommodation in North Toronto - The fact that such place was available during the high summer tourist season was a very useful. It even has a garden very close by, very well maintained and which looks more like a botanical garden. Very very beautiful, highly recommended! There is a big plaza with lots of restaurants within walking distance (less than 1/2 km) - actually I was told about it at the reception. There is also a bus terminal inside the campus with buses going to all 4 directions and to nearby cities, in addition to Toronto. Wifi works in the lobby, did not in my room, so I think that was the only downside. I would go there again anytime!
- Fred (8/5): Price is right for this student residence - Stayed for 9 nites while I volunteered at the Roger's Cup. Worked out well...only 2 busses to get to the tennis centre in under an hour. Very quiet, shared bathroom but hardly anyone there but there was 24 hour desk residence coverage which I really appreciated. Shared facitities for fridge, mircrowave, and TV. Room was cleaned every day if you wished.
