Guest Reviews
- James (6/5): - This motel is straight out of the 1970s! I mean that (mostly) in a good way. It's well preserved and obviously well taken care of. It's like staying in a kitschy time machine.
My two concerns were that its dog-friendly nature resulted during my stay in a great deal of random barking as the guest pets reacted to each other. The other was that the wifi was . . . well, about as effective as it would have been in the 1970s, which is to say that it was unusable. That's a shame, as I had work to do and it did not get done.
- Kris (8/5): - OK, so this place is very old-school and may seem undesirable as you approach. This is the kind of place where you park your car right outside your room door. BUT, it was clean (cleaner than many "chain hotels" I've stayed at recently. The check-in was prompt and courteous. The room was sparsely furnished, but had everything I needed: refrigerator, with a small freezer area (perfect for my ice packs) and microwave. Very nice modern large TV. Bed was comfortable. Small patching of prior damage to floor, but the floor and bathroom were spotless. The only thing I was missing is a hair dryer. Not a big deal for my short stay. Would stay here again if in the area.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Our room was clean and the parking was good. Staff was friendly. We had a great time. There were places to eat close by. Loved Pops for breakfast, Frankies was a great choice for dinner.
- Michael (6/5): - The TV remote was difficult to use. The pool was closed and seemed permanently closed. The top of the toilet tank was cracked. It was clean and close to beaches.
- Alexander (8/5): - Dated place, but has all you need for a short stay. Parking outside the room.
- James (6/5): - Thers was a pretty strong pot smell initialy in the early evening that thankfully was not continous, however a very strong odor of cigarettes permeated our bathroom in the morning.
- brendan (6/5): - Only good thing... Pet friendly.
- Linda (10/5): - Pet friendly, staff and close location to beach.
- Melissa (8/5): - It was very clean and accommodating to people with dogs. The staff was very friendly as well. My only issues were that the AC wouldn't stay on long after setting the thermostat, and i wish the dog area was better fenced in near the busy road. However, I'm extremely happy to have a place that allowes pets at all. Plus there's a dog park literally a couple streets away from the motel. There's plenty to do close by and I would absolutely stay again.
- Minette (8/5): - A perfectly fine, old-school motel. Clean and comfortable, although the bathroom desperately needs an upgrade with stained floor and wall tile. Great, vintage sign.
- Danielle (6/5): - There were a pair of someone else’s socks left under the bed which make me question how often the room are cleaned. Check-in was very easy but I called the front desk later on to ask how to adjust the air conditioning and no one called me back. The room was dark and could use a coat of paint. I would not recommend or stay here again.
- Paola (8/5): - We only stayed one night, overall room was clean, however old musty carpet has to go! This Motel definitely needs some minor improvements. The pool was clean, the rate was great, and their staff was friendly.
- Mario (8/5): - Property was close to a lot of attractions . The place was quiet and safe . Only issue was pool was too heavy on chlorine . Besides got what I paid for .
- Laurel (8/5): - Exactly what a shore motel would be. Spacious and clean, just smelled like smoke in our room and noisy on the side of the road. Fine for a night since we didn’t plan to hang around the room all day. Good experience overall.
- Jenny (10/5): - Clean and nice room, quite and safe ,
- kathleen (8/5): - Lots of people enjoy staying here with their pets. We did not have a pet and our room didn't smell like a pet. Pool area nice.
- Lisa (8/5): - Like: Friendly Service, received what I wanted. ie. Another towel.
Dislike: no access to a computer, nobody soap.
- Sheila (10/5): - Cute dog friendly motel! The motel itself was quiet, it’s next to a busy street but the noise from traffic was only bad at busy times of day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this quaint motel for sure! I will definitely be back! We met a few people who have been staying here for decades!
- charles (8/5): cute place - Nice family run place...good location off main road, the place is a little old but clean and neat some rooms have new flooring, comfortable beds and bathroom...they had a nice pool , i woiuld stay again
- Dianna (6/5): - This hotel is decent if you need a cheap place to stay.
Pros-bed was comfortable, Everything looked generally clean,A/C worked well, Big tv, pool looked nice, easy check in/out
Cons- outdated, chipped flooring and furniture, large mystery stain on carpet, mold on the bathroom ceiling and shower curtain, only 2 bath towels for 4 people, musty cigarette smell
- Susan (2/5): Awful awful, awful, smelly room, musty, old old ni - The room smelled musty. The overall look of the room was old the bed. I didn’t even sit on the bed. I didn’t think it was clean while the inside of the refrigerator was clean the outside had stains. It was basic. It was not comfortable whatever the review is on wonderful are I am certain they are from the owners Friends. Nobody in their right mind would stay in this room. The door lock was was not a good luck. There was a view in the room of a wall. If I was to say what this was, it was a no tell Motel. and that room was not up to the standard to even $100. I didn’t go back into the room I got in the car went to a restaurant started making phone calls and getting on the Internet and found a beautiful B&B for $100 I never went back I was told I would not get a refund as I booked it through hotels.com and the owner was not going to give a refund this review is the best I can tell everyone stay away do not book at this motel.b by the way, I got out of there so fast I couldn’t take a picture but believe me I couldn’t stay in the room. It smelled bad.
- Gene (10/5): - Inexpensive
- Andrea (10/5): - It was just perfect and the owners really care about the property and that the guests have everything they need. I loved it there!
- Charles (8/5): -
- Tameeka (2/5): - Terrible service
- mark (8/5): - Friendly staff. Clean rooms (a bit dated) slept well . Not bad for the price.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Really bad condition and the tv services its No free
- HEATHER (2/5): - Property staff
- james (4/5): - i was to loud..
- Robert (8/5): - Pet friedly. There was a area to walk dogs. Well kept. The pool was refreshing and very clean. Very affordable rooms. Eight minute drive to the beach.
- Melody (10/5): - Perfect for to crash after an Asbury Park show! Thanks!
- Karen (10/5): Sun pool and dogs. Perfect combo - Relaxed environment. Great pool!! Dog friendly
- David (2/5): - The place is a depressing dump from ages ago and the years haven’t been kind. There’s a stench tobacco and damp baked into the walls. Furniture is ugly junk and the shower cubicle was so tight that I couldn’t point the shower head low enough to wash anywhere below my naval.
- Amiee (10/5): - Nice small place. Homey feel. Close to lots to do without being right in the middle. Cameras everywhere!
- Mary (6/5): - This is a small older motel with very few amenities. I would say it was neatly kept but nothing special. The pool was nice. The rooms are a nice size and have a refrigerator and microwave. The TV was very large and nice. It was great if you are looking for something simple without all the frilly stuff. Very good location, it was simple to get to the Manasquan inlet and beach. If you love to fish this is the place and it also had a very nice bike trail really close.
- William (2/5): Don't stay here....i want a refund - Room was dirty . Sheets were yellow and unwashed. Bugs in the room. Spiders in the room. Unresponsive and unresolved issues with ownership.
- Michael (8/5): - Good motel for a quick stay at the Jersey shore
- Glenn (8/5): - Just OK
- Jaclyn (10/5): - For a dog friendly hotel, it is well kept and clean. Everyone very kind and we love seeing all the puppies everyone brought on their vacation.
- Meredith (10/5): Manasquan retreat - Room was comfortable, bathroom was smal and the toiletries provided were cheap but we didn't really mind. The location is excellent and the pool was well maintained. The staff and guests were all lovely!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Dog friendly - Cute dog friendly motel
- Wendi (8/5): - This was a cute old school motel. It could use some updates but was fine for our purposes!!
The dog area was ideal and the pool was very nice.
The ice machine either was not working or was not stocked and had some mold in it.
I would stay there again!! :)
- AMANDA (10/5): - They went above and beyond for us during this stay, will be coming back when visiting the area 1000%. Neighbors are always welcoming, staff is attentive, and the area is so quiet—even being on a NJ CIRCLE !! This place is a hidden gem for SURE!
- David (8/5): - Sink was slow to drain and toilet was running. Also, how does TV work? otherwise, good room.
- Donna (4/5): - The staff was nice, but this place needs a complete overhaul. It is worn out and dated looking. There are broken blinds or no blinds on the windows covered with old dirty-looking curtains. We checked in and returned much later to go to bed, and found that the sheets did not look like they had been changed from former guests. (something sticky on the sheets - yuk). We slept on top of the covers. Blanket and spread both had holes in them. The next morning I asked for clean sheets to be left in the room so I could put them on myself (after examining them). The young lady was kind and did as I asked, so our second night was a little better. Bathroom was also old and dated, but towels seemed fresh. Shower had floor damage, but seemed to have been cleaned. I would probably never stay at this place again unless it was an emergency. The whole place needs a complete refresh including all new bedding. Pillows were like pancakes. The bed was not very comfortable even with clean(er) beddding. We paid almost $200 per night in season for a very sub-par accomodation.
- Joe (8/5): - Good value for the Jersey Shore. Short drive to beaches and boardwalks.
- Mark (8/5): - Better than I expected. Clean room and bath.
Had a refrigerator and microwave in room. Internet TV
Not real close to beach, you'd have to drive but close by so was Allaire State Park. It was quiet at night too. A little dated, but clean.
Dog friendly. Have a small exercise area / potty area.
Would stay again.
- Christian (8/5): - Enjoyed the property, easy check in and check out. The room had nice amenities and was overall very clean!
- Izabella (10/5): - Very good place to stay, the room was nice and the area had some pretty good restaurants nearby
- Lindsay (10/5): - Definitely worth the price. Very satisfied
- DIANNA (4/5): - When i went to check in there was no one in the office and i had to wait for someone to come. When they finally opened the door, the employee was very friendly. However, i was disappointed to learn they had already charged my account for my stay. The reservation clearly says i would pay at the property. Room was run down. Not the nicest place, but we just needed to sleep for a few hours before getting back on road. They could use some more cleaning and updating.
- Amanda R (10/5): - Very helpful and friendly service, quiet and comfortable room!
- John (2/5): - Peeling paint inside and out.
In room, damaged floor vinyl with multiple exposed holes cut in it, rust on heater, grime accumulated in corners and baseboards, handle on toilet improperly installed and do broke off on use.
Bed sheet on top of blanket instead of underneath it.
Wi-Fi failed to maintain connection for more than a few seconds.
- Tiffany (10/5): - We LOVE it here and stay once a month. The staff are amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was well-priced and clean. It worked out great for a one-night stay in the area.
- Richard (6/5): - Meh
- Allison (8/5): - Absolutely loved this property and the girl who works there was lovely! She helped me so much. Our room didn’t look like the photos on booking but overall it was clean and small. Loved a little mom and pop type of hotel experience for our New Jersey trip. Highly recommend!
- David (6/5): - ROOM WAS TOO COOL. BATHROOM WINDOW WAS OPEN AN BROKEN.
- Alexandra F (8/5): It was ok - It was ok, nice. Water pressure wasn’t great. It was very cold, no heat on at all. Parking was strange, the spots didn’t match up well. We made the best of it, but I don’t think we’ll go back. Better suited for rooms for rent than a trip at a motel.
- DAVID (10/5): - Great spot ...tranquil... Nice front desk.. very quiet even though it's on the circle.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Charged me full priced with trying to cancel 5 days in advance.
- Hal (4/5): Cheap overnight stay - You get what you pay for
- Carole (6/5): - The smell of mold was so strong we didn’t even stay overnight. We went home . I have asthma and would have had an attack if we stayed. Lauren at the desk was lovely.
- Maureen (8/5): - Small older motel. Staff was very nice. Served our purpose to have an affordable place to sleep for one night to attend a funeral. Nothing fancy but it was clean and my bed was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were pleasant during my stay.
- Michael (8/5): - Very nice quiet and affordable. Airs a bit loud and a little out of date but comfortable
- Tiffany (10/5): - Staff was very polite, room was clean, close to all needs! Will be staying here again!
- Frederick (8/5): - property was a nice place to sleep excuse. Some amenities but very few. We liked it mainly because it’s close to the beach.
- Ryan (10/5): - Staff was very helpful, and fairly priced stay
- Karen (8/5): - Great location, convenient to beach and shops. Pleasant and helpful front desk staff. Comfortable bed. Reaso
- Bernadette (6/5): - Old furniture
- Chelsea (8/5): - We didn’t find anything wrong with this motel. It is older so not as updating as the rest but it was clean and comfortable. We didn’t use the pool but it looked spotless. They also have a nice grass area for the dogs!
- Steve (6/5): - The staff was friendly and it was a clean room . However the room wasn’t in good shape . The door to the bathroom was broken , our doorknob to enter was giving trouble , and the fridge had some sort lavender sweet chemical smell that ruined some of my frozen goods . Overall wasn’t terrible but the room I stayed in could be updated
- Toni Ann (10/5): Manasquan Week - Our room was comfortable & in a great location. Lauren, the manager, was very friendly, always available & polite. The location is very good, minutes drive from everything!
- Alexa (6/5): - This motel was nice, the pool was enjoyable it was a good temperature & not excessively full of chlorine I enjoyed it alot but did wish it opened earlier than 10am so I could of did some earlier swimming. The room was decent, tv was clear & large, there was a mini fridge which I didn't expect I thought there would be no fridge so that was nice, bathroom was clean & shower worked well. The bed was terrible though like a 400 pound person slept in it for 10 years straight it just had a sunken in center. There was a second bed but I didn't even try it, maybe it would of been better.
- Ramon (6/5): - On my stay there was one small towel in the room
- Martha (8/5): - Could use an update but was well kept.
- Donna (10/5): - The motel is pretty old but the owner and staff are the nicest people you ever want to meet. The motel is geared to families and has a nice pool, riff raff isn't tolerated so I felt it was a very safe place to be.
- Kalie (10/5): - Quiet
- Joan (6/5): - Surprisingly quiet for location. Convenient to many stores, restaurants and ocean. Lady at checkin was friendly. Process was quick and easy. Mold on bathroom ceiling. AC filter dirty. Housekeeping didn’t service our room despite paperwork saying it’s included.
- Jenny (6/5): - Not enough chairs. Pool should be open earlier and close a little later. 10-8pm is not enough. Otherwise the pool is well kept and area.
- Jason (10/5): Last minute motel - Was able to relax and disconnect. Comfortable stay
- Jason (10/5): 1st stay - Main office attendant was professional. Went above and beyond to assist me
- Dorothy (10/5): - The young lady Lauren was very pleasant and very accommodating.
- SVETLANA (10/5): - N/A
- Rafael (10/5): - A nice and clean room with a friendly and helpful staff.
- SELCUK (10/5): - it was good and nice and simple
- Laura (10/5): Shabby chic-ish - Older small motel, could use updating. Staff friendly and helpful. Room and pool clean. TV, AC, hot water work. Somewhat noisy from nearby traffic circle at times.
- Alison (6/5): - Clean, but I would describe the property as kind of sad and neglected. For example, it appeared that when the room was last painted, the painter didn't bother to cover anything--there were paint drips on the dresser, the headboard and over the door hardware. The bathroom floor was unfinished, as if they ran out of floorboards and just left it. The pool was sparkling clean. There was a kid of about three riding a plastic tricycle unattended in the parking lot. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Overall, the price was right and the room was clean.
- joe (10/5): twin oaks motel is worth every penny - clean, price is amazing.lauren the manager is awaesome and so helpful. Great forwhat it is. Safe.clean, nice tv's.good parking
- Jesse (10/5): - Place is an older motor lodge but pride of ownership is apparent. Well cared for for the age and everyone was very nice and professional. For the price it’s an absolute steal! Everything else is at least double and not as private
- Thomas (10/5): - Booked a last minute stay because of an extended power outage at home during a massive heat wave. Staff was very friendly on check in, and the room was clean and tidy.
- Alan (10/5): - Close proximity to beach. Nice place for our dog.
- Leslie (6/5): - The staff was very nice, the room was kinda in need of cleaning and updating. Was ok but they need new beds.
- James (2/5): - Apparently the motel caters to long term renters. While the room was clean, both the sleeping area and bathroom was very small. People stood outside their rooms smoking, and it circulated in to our room. Parking was very limited. My wife refers to the place as "the Bates Motel."
- Joseph (10/5): - It was great I would stay there again
- John (10/5): Sea Bass Opening Day - Simple comforts of home for a fishing trip
- John (10/5): Sea Bass Opening Day - Simple comforts of home for a fishing trip
- Matthew (2/5): - Burn holes in sheets, very dirty sheets with red markings indicating bed bugs, dirty window sills, overall property was very dirty.
- Michael (6/5): Clean reasonable priced place to stay - Clean place to stay but a bit worn out. Staff is friendly and location is great.
