Guest Reviews
- Melissa (8/5): - We found 1 roach, the beds were very uncomfortable and the people above us were extremely loud at 1am. The additional parking lot was basically abandoned so we didnt feel comfortable parking there. The AC was very moldy. The staff was kind and helpful, and we survived, yet wouldn't return.
- vivian (10/5): - Family owned and operated… walkable to beach , boardwalk and restaurants.
- Kristen (4/5): - The bathroom was so small, we had to sit on the toilet sideways! Also, got overcharged for property.
- mike (8/5): - Perfect spot for a weekend getaway with the grandson and wife
- William (6/5): - Limited parking at the motel but there is more 1/2 block away. Check in was hard to get someone to the office.
- Natalie (8/5): - I always love this motel!
- Jennifer (4/5): - The room had a full kitchen and no silverware, dishes or pots. The staff was rude over the phone. The room was dingy and looked like needed a lot of work, nothing there no hair dryer, no extra sheets for futon. Beds small and hard. People can smoke at pool so that’s all you could smell. No WiFi password given, the pool was nice and the only positive I would say except for people smoking right there.
- Courtney (4/5): - Our room was newly renovated which made the stay bearable. Apparently so newly renovated they didn’t have time to even hang a mirror. However, the pillows & mattresses were old & so uncomfortable & we were only give bath towels (no washcloths or even hand towel) which were also pretty worn & stained.
- Bridget (8/5): - Great location. Owners clearly worked hard. Mattresses could be updated and no forks or pots or pans etc anything in the kitchen to use. Safe location. Room was clean.
- William (10/5): Convenient Location. Clean Hotel. Great Staff! - Probably the best motel in Seaside Heights. All the hotels are really run down in the area. I doubt you will find a better motel in the area. Great location, 1 block from the Boardwalk. The staff was great! Very helpful. The two gentlemen working during the day were running around nonstop taking care of the customers. Very accommodating! Room was Very clean. After reading reviews of many hotels in the area, I wasn't expecting much, but Sea Garden over delivered. It is an old hotel, like all the others in the area, but Sea Garden did a better job with maintenance and cleanliness.
- Darren (2/5): - Extremely disappointed I went to the front desk to tell him how I felt about the room and how it was showed on Expedia compared to how it looked in reality and the fact that the room didn’t come with any blankets still had sand all over the room so many under age kids drinking and doing drugs the gm of the motel was so disrespectful and dismissive didn’t wanna work with us or even try to comfort us to make us feel better about it so to avoid any type of argument I told my girlfriend it’s ok let’s just leave they honestly don’t care we’ll just never come back here
- Tara (2/5): - This hotel was not worth the money at all.. dirty room beds were uncomfortable, pillows lost their lives years ago.. no linen for futon.. no wash cloths. To ask owners for anything took forever ... they have cameras n watched as other kids from other units were running around trying to open peoples doors..
- Linda (2/5): - Not good. Toilet didn’t flush and no one site staff to help. They leave a number to text at lobby w no response.
- Gary (8/5): - Room was clean. A bit outdated. Overall great location. Room had a stale odor. Ok for a short stay. Staff was very nice and friendly.
- Maura (4/5): - The hotel was basic. The shower was not the cleanest and there was very little hot water. The beds were clean however.
- Todd (4/5): - Location was great and staff was friendly. However the room should of been in better condition for the money we spent. Broken lamp shade, floor tiles ,stained ceiling tiles, broken blinds . No stopper in bathroom sink. Bed was terrible to sleep on. Outdated furniture and kitchen sink was all chipped up.
- Jeffrey (2/5): Truly gross and offensive - Cigarettes everywhere -- it's like a homeless shelter for families. Go elsewhere.
- Joshua (8/5): - Affordable. Close to the Boardwalk. Quiet. Had a great time. The kids had smiles for days after the trip was over.
- Vanessa (6/5): - More seriously
- Cindy (8/5): Alright - The pillows could have been other than that it was pretty good
- Joseph (10/5): - Very clean
- Nicole (8/5): - I liked the two bedroom option. The room had decent space, however, the rooms are very dated. The bed frames were made out of wood, which is fine, but the frame was exposed and not properly balanced. My son cut his leg due to the frame sticking out. The bathroom sink had permanent stains on it making the sink look filthy. The entrance doors need better locks.
- Sabrina (2/5): - I would not recommend this property.
The worse part for me was the pool!!! Picture looked beautiful but it looks very dirty all over the sides and the water looks cloudy.
You have to bring your towels to office to get new ones, which at first didn't seem like a big deal but is actually very inconvenient. You have to Take your own trash out and ask office for new trash bags.
The office is often locked and not always someone there. We had to request sheets for the fouton as there was none.
I will not stay again
- gary (2/5): - No on site dining for morning gave a coupon. No person in front office most of the time. No hand towels. I would never book this place again.
- WILLIAM (4/5): Unsatisfied customer!!!! - When I arrived at 3:30 pm there was no one to check us in, I had to call a number and wait 15 minutes. The guy had a real attitude on the phone and in person. He said he was going to show me where the parking was, since there was limited parking at the facility. I unloaded my car, he was gone !!! I had to wait another 15 minutes for him to come back, after 4 calls to his phone, that he wasn’t answering. It was next to impossible to get any hand towels. I could go on for awhile, but I’m not. I’ll never go there again, the extra money I paid compared to the other motels wasn’t worth it.
- Melissa (6/5): - The place is convenient located to the beach and boardwalk but the property is exactly what a motel has a reputation to be. If was very noisy as if someone was moving furniture all night. The pool doesn’t open until 10 am.
- Lisa (10/5): - Great location!
- Alex (6/5): - Liked the price for what I got...no frills... though
Limited parking limits the convenoence
- Michele (8/5): - Very convenient to the boardwalk ! Also a breakfast option is great !! We enjoyed our stay it's your basic beach hotel and all the amenities...
- John (6/5): - Some atypical things you should know: (1) check-in "ends" at 10:00 pm, so if your travel is delayed, be sure to call the desk and ask them to remain open so you can check in. (2) the free breakfast consists of coupons for a small deli down the street where you can have either an egg/cheese sandwich on a roll or a bagel with cream cheese plus either an orange juice or a coffee. (3) the pool doesn't open until 10:00 am. (4) the railing leading to the second floor was quite loose. The motel's decor is dated, but it was reasonably clean, reasonably priced compared to the local competition, and reasonably close to the beach.
- Sheri (4/5): - We were not told the room would not be cleaned during our stay. We had to bring our towels back and forth ourselves in order to get new ones. The rooms next to us were noisy through the night and the room was not as pictured online. It was a very misleading description and we would not stay here again.
- Ajay (4/5): - No towels, no turn down service and it was not very clean.
- Heather (8/5): - This hotel is in a great location to the boardwalk and to the beach. It was close enough to get around but far enough away that we couldn’t hear loud partiers on the boardwalk. If you are into a place for its location and don’t mind packing a few extra items to make it a pleasant stay (comforter, wash cloths, toiletries), it’ll work for you!
- Carole (10/5): - The motel definitely updated their rooms from the bathroom to the bedrooms ( due to covid they don’t provide blankets, we brought our own. Not a-lot of available parking but broad walk is literally 2 blocks away .
- Otto (10/5): - It was a nice clean place to stay, friendly and respectful staff. Place was quiet and family oriented, looking forward to comeback with my family.
- Nancy (6/5): - The location was excellent, one block from the beach and boardwalk, with many restaurants nearby. Older motel - had a 2 bedroom apartment with attempts at updating. Cracks in the tiles in the bathroom where a new sink was put in. Mismatched furniture with hard mattresses. No toiletries at all. The advertised hair dryer which though asked for did not make an appearance. No kitchen supplies at all. The pool did not open on time. No one is usually in the office. Only towels, no washcloths or bathmats.Had to buy items usually provided. Lots of chairs by the pool. A couple fighting in the room above us with no management to quiet them down. Though Monday night price was $100 less, we were charged the same for Sunday and Monday. Not happy with Orbitz or the motel
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great location, close to board walk and restaurants. Staff were friendly and restocked towels and toilet paper when needed. We have stayed in other hotels in seaside and this was by far cleaner and had a nice pool area. Pool was very clean. Top blanket on bed and washcloths not provided but wasn't a big deal due to reading on their website before we went. They have big gas grills of you want to cook out.
- Colleen (8/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. There was no wash cloth or hand towels. No blankets, no coffee maker.
- Lisa (8/5): - Very close to the boardwalk.
Price was right. Clean pool areas. Lots of ash trays on the tables . Outdoor grills clean
- Gary (6/5): - Property was in process of being upgraded. Room was clean but bare essentials only.
No place to hang anything, clothes or towels.
Window blinds were partially broken and there were no drapes. Room was light at night.
- Geraldine (8/5): - Near the beach, boardwalk and a few restaurants. The rooms could definitely be more updated. Our room smelled very musty and damp. No blankets....what does this have to do with "precautionary measures we are taking to continue having a safe summer". We had to go to the office to ask for more towels, which were paper thin and basically useless. No one emptied our trash. I guess I expected a little more.
- Sharon (10/5): - The workers are very nice and felt comfortable knowing that there was security on guard during the night.
- Jenny (2/5): - The day staff was great- night staff was EXTREMELY rude, stove didnt work, mold in the bathroom, wall look like they were peed all over, tiles missing on the floor, dirty hair ties on the floor, beds creek and are hard, blood stained sheets on the bed, locks didnt work- someone was able to open our door and rip the molding off the wall, never brought clean towels when requested, parking was AWFUL- they woke my child and myself from our nap to YELL at me to move my car over 4 inches even though they told me to park there ... the place should be shut down!
- Ambreen (2/5): - Not clean..
- patrick (10/5): - It was perfect size and the staff was nice
- Natasha (10/5): - Great vacation
- WALTER (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised with the motel, since we feel we got our money’s worth. The staff is very accommodating and allowed us to check in many hours earlier. We have no complaints about it at all.
- Josh (4/5): - Decent poll.
- Deanne (4/5): Stay somewhere else - The office was barely open. Our toilet clogged and I left a message for the front desk and never heard back so I called 5 hours later and they brought me the plunger to do it myself. The pool is to be open at 9am and it gets open when the staff decides too. Won’t ever stay here again!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I stayed a week. It was great , everyone was great all neighbors till the last night the new neighbors where drunk and loud music at 3 am. Lucky it was our last night
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. Very pleasantly surprised when we got the top floor corner with a view of the boardwalk!
Pros:
•Proximity to boardwalk (1 block)
•Friendly, patient staff
•Apartment comfortably fit 3 friends
•TV, Fridge, Stove, Microwave
•AC
•Closet Space
Cons:
•Wifi barely worked
•Some updates needed (Kitchen Sink needs new faucet, a window is broken, blinds aren’t in great shape)
•”Continental Breakfast” was just a $2-$3 coupon for each person, basically a free coffee
Overall a great find in Seaside Heights. Would highly recommend for the area. Some of these reviews clearly did not read the description/messages from the hotel...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location is amazing. Minutes from everything. Very fairly priced. Staff was exceptional, very clean. Highly recommend.
- Jennifer (6/5): Not so great - The place didn't look like the pictures. The pool was a lot smaller, the beds had stains on the sheets, it wasn't very clean and the kitchen didn't come with any pots or pans or even a toaster. Wasn't very pleased for how much we paid
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I booked a 2 bedroom apartment at the motel. As soon as I walked into the apartment it was ridiculously hot. We turned the AC on but it took all night to finally feel some real coolness and the AC is located in the living room area so the bedrooms remained uncomfortably hot the first night. It wasnt up until the 2nd night after leaving the AC on all day, that the place finally felt comfortable. The apartment was not cleaned properly. The floors werent mopped, and the table was dirty also which made me wonder about the cleanliness of the bedding. The best part of the place was its nice Pool area, the kids really enjoyed that. And the motel was also just 1 block away from the boardwalk which was very convenient. They also provided on site free parking which was also convenient but spots are limited. All in all, the place was not the best but also not the worst.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location is good. But the bedrooms were hot ..ac only in living room in 2 bedroom appartment. Chairs in kitchen dirty
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Website says one thing and we show up and it’s another. Please make sure to call and confirm before taking the trip thinking you’re going to get a room.
God forbid you drive from Georgia to Jersey just to be told you don’t have a room to stay in meanwhile hundreds of miles away.
- Sherri (6/5): - Not one of my better stays at Seaside Heights. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Location was ok. Staff was nice. But we had no washcloths or face towels. Overall price was decent for last minute stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfectly Average - Overall a convenient location to the boardwalk and beach. We were provided vouchers for breakfast good at two local restaurants which were nice. While clean and exactly what we expected for Seaside Heights, the beds were quite old, loud (springs) and uncomfortable.
- CHRISTIE (8/5): Definitely one of Seasides better motel. - For a Seaside motel this was decent and clean. I’ve stayed at a few motels in past years that were just nasty.
One block from the boardwalk.
BBQ grill at the pool area, with tables/chairs.
We got the 2 bedroom for a family of five for a weekend.
I would stay again
- Nicholas (8/5): Nice Hotel - The room was clean and had a nice smell. Not smoke smell at all. Table with 2 chars was nice, co do some work after I came back from the beach. We stayed for 3 days and there is not a daily room cleaning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was really pleasant were there if you needed something I would choose this place to stay in the future
- JoyeSeaborn (8/5): - I enjoyed it! Just wish they would put TVs in the bedrooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place. Close to the boardwalk and beach. Nice staff.
- Amanda (8/5): - They made me feel safe as in COVID-19 always cleaning and testing pool at night for it
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Looked clean as you walk in but counters and tables were sticky. Beds had no blankets. Smelt funky.
- Juan (8/5): Good place for family! - It’s a good, decent place to stay for a family vacation. Boardwalk right down the block. Pool is decent. Waterpark is close by as well. Did not have any issues while staying here.
- Mo (6/5): - It was what you expect grim a beach motel. I did enjoy the pool though
- Alyssa (4/5): - The place itself was not bad for seaside but what I found made me very uncomfortable. The pillow covers had black hairs all over them. The towels for the shower all had stains and a lot of hair on them. One of them has a whole handful of hair. It was disgusting
- Diego (8/5): - It could be better but it was OK
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall it was good. Location is just a short block from the boardwalk in a nice location near cafes, restaurants, convenient/ liquor store. Pool was clean and room was good. A little outdated but nothing bad. Room service & employees very nice and accommodating. A few things to mention that I find to be helpful for others would be, there is no elevator and this is a 3 story high motel so keep that in mind when unpacking and packing your vehicle. Check-in parking sorts are provided though and a permit given for your stay to park in their designated front spots or in their parking lot next door. No beach badges provided but they do give breakfast vouchers to accommodate for that which is for 2 restaurants, one that is located right next to the hotel and the other that is 8 blocks away. It's not a free breakfast like they make it seem but it's a decent discount off your bill which can add up since they give you one per person per day and can use all vouches on one bill daily. Most importantly, I have to say I was VERY impressed with Seaside Heights overall! It's been years since I've been there and last time visiting I had to leave because of the damage from the hurricane but now the beach, boardwalk and hotels are extremely nice. They restored the boardwalk and beaches with new sand, cabanas, stores, shops, restaurants, activities.. you name it, they did it! It looks awesome and we had such a nice time. Very impressed and will definitely be going back! Perfect for all ages!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a nice time but bed was uncomfortable. I didnt know it didn't come with plates, pots or utensils so I was unprepared for that. Felt the pool area was taken over by a large group of people which made it unappealing so we never used the pool.
- Devyn (8/5): - We loved that it was literally down the road from the boardwalk. No complaints
- Ana (8/5): - The shower pressure needs to be stronger. Overall loved the stay just need to to be able to take a quick and good shower especially after being at the beach all day.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not a thing !!!! No wash towels in room, did not make our bed and the floor was dirty and the people above us were loud and kept us awake.
- Thanya (10/5): Welcoming staff and clean - The location is great and it is clean. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I will come back and stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love staying here. Very convenient walk to the beach. Staff is polite and very accommodating. They were always available to help with all our needs.
- Nicole (8/5): - Convenient clean and roomy
- Jaime (6/5): Could have been better! - There was only 1 air conditioner for the entire apartment. It was extremely hot in the bedrooms. The beds were horrible and made all crazy noises. It's a very close walk to the beach and boardwalk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is very accommodating and honestly we felt like we had the nicest motel over there. Pool is clean and well kept. We will definitely be back!! Grilling was a great perk too!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to everything very friendly staff courteous employees pool was excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good service, secure family friendly environment
I’m satisfied
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very amazing staff and always there when you need it, we got the wrong room at first and then we have burnt marks on our stove
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Over price, this place should cost a lot less compare to other places around.
- Jen (2/5): - Wow, Expedia! Where do i even begin?! Better yet, is there a way I can upload photos and video? The only accurate pictures you have of this place is the outside and the pool! For the sake of the customers booking on your website, especiallly those with children who are looking for a good, quality place to stay the pictures of the room should be 100% accurate! I would love to speak with someone directly at Expedia about my experience and send the photos and video I have to avoid experiences like this one in the future! If you are looking for a mediocre place to stay, you have found it! If you don't care about overall aesthetics, and don't care if you get an old delapidated room as opposed to what is advertised on both Expedia AND the motel's direct website, then look no further, you have found it! I have never overpaid so much for an old, delapidated room in my ENTIRE LIFE! But you live and you learn! I tried to make the best of my stay. Thankfully, I only booked 2 nights too many! The moment we arrived in our room, it smelled like an old, musty, basement! We had to keep the air conditioner on the entire time to keep the smell and the room air at a bare minimum! Our cable wasn't working, i had to walk over to the office God knows how many times before it was finally addressed and our cable box was replaced, so my two children can watch TV. I couldn't call the front desk because our room didn't have a telephone to call the office like other places do!
