- Johanna (7/5): - Staff was friendly and listened the staff. Place was ok, looks same than in photos. Thank you. Electricity went off many times a day, air condition did not work then, was too hot and I couldn't leave food to the fridge either. Some changes for the breakfast would be nice, if staying long. Some small animals in the room, they tried to poison them, which was nice. Swimming pool would be nice when hot :)
- Johanna (9/5): - Had a great stay at Jam Lodge! The bed was super comfortable, and I specifically appreciated the breakfast options, the fridge and microwave in the room, and the opportunity to iron my own clothes in a dedicated space.
- Emmanuel (8/5): I will definitely go back on my next assignment - It's a clean and private environment, polite and cooperative staff with an excellent manager. Service was quick. I didn't experience mosquitoes. Great hospitality. I think I was basically OK with everything!
- sushil (1/5): -

- Thierno Mamoudou Pount (7/5): -
- Atsushi (5/5): ok - nothing in particular perhaps this guest house is on the cheaper side in Freetown, yet I still believe the price doesn't match the quality.
- Ross (9/5): Definitely stay here if you're in Freetown - The host and staff were very welcoming, accommodating and attentive to my needs. Holiday noise level
- Ignacio (7/5): - Camas muy cómodas. Aire acondicionado funcionaba a la perfección. El wifi iba muy mal. Fallaba a todas horas e iba muy lento. El desayuno era demasiado sencillo.
- Anthony (10/5): Comfortable - Food was great All good

- Djibril (8/5): Place calm, clean with friendly staff - The place was calm with a very friendly staff RAS
- Takehiko Ochiai (8/5): - 50平方メートル程度のアパートメントに泊まりました。明るく、クーラーも効いていて快適でした。 朝ごはんは少し貧困です。
- manuel alejandro (10/5): -
- Bojan (10/5): Good location, nice and clean - Good location, clean rooms, no mosquitos and friendly host who will gave you all infos about city. Breakfast was simple but nice and fresh and ginger guava fresh juice was amazing!
- Ishmael (7/5): Great value for nice accommodations and hospitality. - Great value for comfortable room and with excellent amenities. Good breakfast included in rate. A little hard to find from main road. Needs a larger sign on main road and at property.
- Matthias (9/5): Superb - Staffel is exceptionaöly helpful Power outages, water pressure are not at ejuopean standard, pruce is eather high from that pov
- Benitez (8/5): A good resting place and hospitable people. - Everything was really nice, they even gave us another room because eventhough ours was good it missed something small. But they preferred to give us another room. -
- Cristina (6/5): Pleasant - The price of the room is never the one that booking offers in its web. The lady of the hotel always increases the price. That’s not nice at all !!!
- Valerie (9/5): Very comfortable; excellent staff eager to meet all your needs. Ms Patricia is outstanding - Staff was great, bed was comfortable, the food was great except for breakfast which could have had more variety. Breakfast could have had more variety
- Mamadu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (5/5): The accommodation didn’t meet my expectations - The staff particularly the manager, she was exceptional and made me stay. The bed,the entertainment was poor, the television had only one channel, the breakfast and the bathroom
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Chigozie (1/5): Too expensive and facilities not working. Wouldn’t recommend - Breakfast The AC went off in the middle of the night. Couldn’t sleep
- Gregoire (10/5): A fantastic stay. - Fantastic staff, great A/C, very accommodating to let me check out late to catch my 2am flight.
Most importantly, they have 24/7 electricity, which is quite rare for a hotel in Freetown. Nothing.
- Emmanuel (9/5): Comfortable stay - Break fast was excellent
- Martin (9/5): Superb accommodation in Freetown - Jam Lodge is the perfect choice for a stay in Freetown. Conveniently located, it has all necessary amenities: Clean, spacious rooms with a/c, comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom, fridge microwave etc. Surprisingly, my room was the quietest I ever had in Salone. Staff is friendly, a good breakfast is served on the balcony and Wi-Fi works well. And you can pay with credit card which I found extremely helpful. Nothing
- Matjaž (7/5): Good -
- Alpha (8/5): Very good -
- Vitaliybe (9/5): Great stay - It cost a bit more than other properties I have stayed on my African trip but was well worth few extra $ for a comfort that's comparable to a decent 3-star hotel. Bed was huge and comfy, AC worked well, good dinner on-site and nice view over Freetown. Convenient location next to a major junction (Congo Cross) so you can easily hop-on on keke (tuk-tuk) - every driver knows it. I actually walked 15-20min from a pier of the airport boat. Friendly staff, explained me very well how to get to my next destination in SL.
- Rhan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jyoti (4/5): It would have met my expectations if they had not messed up my booking and not taken it so casually - Location is not great and in fact, Jam Lodge is shown elsewhere by google map. The name of this property is "Jam Lodge Hotel". Booking.com confused me by writing only "Jam Lodge". Using google map, my car reached wrong place at 10pm in the night and then I had to call the hotel and ask for directions. So first thing first- please use correct name for this property. Breakfast was good. On the last day I had forgotten an important item in my room when I checked out. It was kept safely and my driver picked that up in 40 minutes or so after the check out. I had booked junior suit but they allotted me an ordinary room, on the ground floor, and the only window in the room faced a wall (may be 2 feet from window) making it claustrophobic. They did not even had courtesy to inform me and apologize for this. It was only when I pointed it out the next day asking for reason, I was given a lame excuse that a guest in the suit continued to stay. And it was only when I pointed out that rate for the room was different, it was changed. Also, their safety lock in the room is very complicated to open. I was locked-in for almost 25 minutes.
- Thomas (8/5): Pleasant stay in central Freetown - Clean, comfortable and well appointed room, with comfy bed, in a friendly hotel in a great location in central/west Freetown
- Petit (3/5): Excellent petit dejeuner. Hotel agréable et le personnel est super. - Breakfast was very nice. Cooked to your order. Great coffee
Extra nice, friendly staff. The rooms were very clean and airco worked very well. Comfortable bed.
Wifi Age of the building starts showing although it is very clean. Quiet location, good view.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (10/5): Homely and comfortable. - Lovely breakfast. Some variety. Great views of the city and its undulating hills. The compound looks old and need some renovation. But when you get inside the main building, it’s a far cry from the exterior.
- Oluremi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Philip (10/5): - 👍
- Mark (7/5): Good - The rooms were very clean and airco worked very well. Comfortable bed. Wifi did not work during the day we were there.
Reception staff was neutral in their communication, not very welcoming.
Cash payment needed for restaurant and bar.
Maintenance can be better. Age of the building starts showing although it is very clean.
- Henry (8/5): Nicest hotel I’ve experienced in Freetown! - Breakfast was very nice. Cooked to your order. Great coffee
Extra nice, friendly staff. Even though this seemed like a reasonably safe part of Freetown, the security perimeter is a bit unnerving.
Rather expensive for location, but a good, clean hotel.
- Robert (6/5): - I was pleased there were 110v plugs. The food in the restaurant took a long time for supper-45mins to 1hr. The portions for breakfast was very skimpy and you had to ask for everything that you wanted extra. The internet was weak. The room and property was kept very well considering the outside surroundings.
- Michaela (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- João (6/5): it can be a nice place, but it is not worth it right now. they need to improve cleaning and training of its staff. - room size and shower. Bed sheets dirty and stained. Breakfast waitress kept saying that my order (waffle) would take time and that the omelets are done quicker.
- Gary (8/5): Quiet location, good view, very friendly staff - I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Jam Lodge in Freetown, Sierra Leone and I have to say it was an amazing experience. The hotel is located in a beautiful and peaceful part of the city, surrounded by lush greenery and just a short distance from some of Freetown's top attractions.
The rooms at The Jam Lodge are spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and well-maintained.
The staff at The Jam Lodge were some of the friendliest and most hospitable people I have ever met. They were always willing to go above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and that we had everything we needed.
Overall, I highly recommend The Jam Lodge to anyone planning a trip to Freetown. It's a wonderful hotel with great amenities and friendly staff, and it's located in a beautiful and peaceful part of the city.
- Paul (8/5): good - reliable, secure, friendly needs more European and our British power points. Geared to US visitors
- Kiazolu (4/5): Disappointing -
- Marion (9/5): Superb - Room spacious, clean and confortable. Super friendly staff who is available to meet up with your requests. Good breakfast (with fresh juices!). I had a very nice stay overall.
- Gift (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yatee (9/5): Superb -
- Hassan (7/5): Good -
- Brucet (9/5): The JAM Lodge was better than I'd expected as I was giveen an appartment. - Patricia managed the accomodation very well. I'd stayed before so the breakfast was what I expected coffee, 2 choices, menu of various items. Good cheerful service. The same girls who served the breakfast also did the room cleaning which was daily The room was too cold at first but I was able to alter the AC to suit my needs.
- John (7/5): This is a small hotel vey well located for city centre access - It is good value for money - Breakfast was OK, but some fresh fruit on the menu would have been a bonus Slightly wider choice of items on evening meal menu, but it was always freshly prepared so can't really complain
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Beejaye (7/5): Good -
- Julien (7/5): Good -
- Tom (9/5): Superb - good AC
- Walker (8/5): A great value option that is clean and has all your basics covered - This place is a great value-for-money hotel option in a convenient location. The rooms were clean and serviced daily, the breakfast was decent, and there were a couple of nice amenities (basic gym and courtyard bar area). The wifi was serviceable (though don't expect wonders), there was hot water in the showers, and I had no issues with the AC. The staff was all quite friendly as well. I wouldn't bother with the food outside of breakfast, as it takes forever to come. The water pressure in the shower was a little hit or miss. I had a room on the ground level by the exit, so it was a little noisy at times.
- Boubacar (9/5): Superb - Everything and specially the food was just great. Everything was over expectations for me.
- Ishmael (10/5): - Friendly staff. Makes you feel welcome.
- MariamaSillah (10/5): - Jam Lodge is a bohemian and well kept property. The staff are friendly and hospitable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Jam Lodge is basically a home away from “home”. The property is very well maintained and located in the heart of Freetown. I encourage anyone visiting Sierra Leone to please patronize Jam Lodge. You will not regret it. My regards to the property manager Ms. Patricia, she’s very warm and friendly. The staff Zainab, Hawa and Mariama are hard working, friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was so delicious!! Best fresh squeezed pineapple juice I ever tasted. Job well done Jam Lodge!!
- Daniel (10/5): Home away from home... - The Jam Lodge is just lovely. It does not have a swimming pool or 24 room service of course, but the family run places makes you feel like family, the cooking is wonderful, and the place is just great.
- Janice (10/5): My Type of Place and People! - This place, the location, staff, management, the cuisine, service...everything top notch! And at a great price! They even have car service and throughout my entire stay, they did everything in their power to make sure that I was happy and taken care of!!! Whether it's just you, your family, or a class trip, staying here should be a viable option for you!!! They are courteous, kind, and helpful. Definitely, one of my favorite places to stay. Clean, comfortable, air conditioning, beautiful views from every corner, and free wonderful and delicious breakfast every morning!!! And for the rate???!!! You Cannot beat it!
- Jorge (8/5): - Excellent location to State House and government offices, mini-markets nearby, safe and easy access to local transportation, cooking good but variety and more international meals would be welcome, warm and kind hotel workers
- Hadyr (8/5): Fair - The bed are confortable and room great. Perferct place if you are not considering out of the room. The environment is more like home or airbnb. You need to knock the door each time before they open the door. I will recommend if you have low budget and not looking for Hotel environment and conditions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Confortable hotel, perfect for a start in Freetown - A friend and myself stayed in the Jam Lodge for two nights. The staff was really nice and helpful. The approximity to downtown is perfect to have an authentic stay. The food was really good.
- Christopher (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay in Freetown. The staff is friendly, helpful and very professional. I ‘ll recommend the hotel to anyone who can afford it.
- Sharon (10/5): Nice relaxing respite - I stayed here for my few final days in W. Africa after several weeks of traveling in the bush. I was really pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was -- with everything in super good condition, working properly, and comfortable (not a given at all in this region!!). The owners and staff were super nice, friendly, and helpful, and it was a pleasure to interact with them. The hotel had a good included breakfast, nice rooms with air-con, and a very pleasant common area to hang out in, watch the news, and have a drink. The hotel is convenient to the Seabird Ferry terminal, and there are a few places to eat nearby.
All in all I'd highly recommend the Jam Lodge to others looking for a very pleasant place to stay while in Freetown.
- Sharon (10/5): Nice refuge - This was a really nice and well run hotel, with very pleasant and helpful owners and staff, common area and rooms in excellent condition. It was really a comfortable landing spot after several weeks in the bush, and I would definitely recommend it to other travelers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok hotel - Ok
- mallory (10/5): Friendly and safe - I highly recommend this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. You can feel secure at this facility. One staff member, Henry, took the time to tell me about his experiences during the civil war. The house matron is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast is very nice, and lunch and dinner are available for a reasonable price. If I come back to Freetown, I will definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Rapport qualité/prix très acceptable - Content d'avoir choisi cet hôtel
