Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful, magnificent home. Innkeepers John and Eric were fantastic. They provided great service and wonderful, delicious three-course breakfasts. Very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Jim Thorpe.
- Alex (10/5): - The Dolon House is a beautiful property with an incredible location in downtown Jim Thorpe. The property owners Michael and Jeffri (and Pearl) made the stay feel like a home away from home. If there was a higher recommendation that I could give I would!
- Lindsay (10/5): - Very clean, awesome owners, delicious breakfast, perfect location. Highly recommend!
- frank (10/5): - Great collection of memorabilia!
- KIM S (10/5): Exceptional find in Jim Thorpe. - The Dolan House is a unique find in Jim Thorpe. The house is full of character and is exceptionally well maintained. Our room was well decorated and comfortable. The dedicated bath facility was newly renovated and contemporary with character. Breakfast was a special experience and the personality, knowdge, and hospitality of Michael and Jerrri makes the experience just that more special.
- Adam (10/5): - .
- Jeannette (10/5): - The House and its contents are just so beautifully done. Lots to look at and explore. So much history in the area and the owners are very knowledgeable. The mountain nestled town is charming in every way. Will go back in a heartbeat to unfurl it’s rich history.
- Ronald (10/5): - The hosts were very nice and accommodating.
- James (6/5): - Breakfast was excellent. There is was stuff everywhere.
- Thejus (10/5): - On a whim, we decided to visit Jim Thorpe and chose to stay at the Dolon House. I can't recommend this place highly enough for anyone seeking a great bed and breakfast in the area. The B&B is a beautifully converted historic mansion, perfectly situated in the heart of the historic district, within walking distance of everything—including the train station, antique stores, and restaurants. The owners were exceptionally courteous, and the breakfast experience was truly unique. They thoughtfully explained each item served, all of which were freshly prepared. The rooms are impeccably maintained and filled with an impressive collection of paintings and antiques. Highly recommend!
- James (10/5): - Great location, awesome breakfast, very clean, the house is a museum with so many historical items from around the globe-host was great, provides so much detail about the area-where to go, eat, shop. A must place to stay.
- Jeff (10/5): - This is an experience in art and breakfast cuisine. The big front porch is perfectly situated.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - It was lovely.
- Stephen (10/5): - My wife and I had an outstanding stay at the Dolon House. Not only is Jim Thorpe, PA completely charming, the house and property from the mid-1800s has been thoughtfully restored by owners Michael and Jeffrey. A warm greeting was followed by attention to every detail and the gourmet breakfast was a culinary delight. If you are in Jim Thorpe don't miss an opportunity to stay at this great B&B!
- Wayne (10/5): - The owners Michael and Jeffrey are the best. They make you feel at home from the moment you arrive until you check out. The Dolan house décor is filled with love and charm, the Garret room where we stayed was very cozy and comfortable. Did I mention that the breakfast which was included was second to none. Hard to imagine finding a better Bed and Breakfast in Jim Thorpe.
- Anna (2/5): Worst stay ever!! - Owners treated us with disrespect and were condescending. They offered no assistance with our WIFI issues. The owner dismissed our concerns and blamed a ghost was causing our failed internet connection. The room smelled musty and the fridge was noisy. Also, there was no television in our room. The lack of hospitality and the inability to make phone calls and receive them created an uncomfortable situation causing us to leave the establishment. The owners made no effort to assist or accommodate us in any way. The next day we received a call from the owner accusing us of taking the room key and that we would be charged for taking it.
- Saleena (10/5): - The property was very central. You can walk anywhere from property and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area
- Ann (10/5): - Breakfast was phenomenal
Innkeepers Michael and Jeffri were welcoming, gracious, helpful and genuinely nice
Inn had so many unique touches- a real showplace of antiques
- frank (10/5): - Each of the breakfasts both days of our stay were excellent. I have celiac disease, notified owners in advance about need for gluten-free meals, and my request was fully accommodated. Highly recommend the Dolon House !
- Bill (10/5): - The Dolon house was an amazing place to stay, located right on Broadway and super convenient and easy to visit the town. The house was decorated with all kinds of interesting art and sculptures to look at. The Breakfast we were served in the morning was delicious and the service was excellent
- Melissa (10/5): - Mike was a wonderful host.
Jeffries did a great job on the 3 course breakfast menu.
A very unique experience
- Andrew (10/5): - A comfortable, warm, quiet, and friendly atmosphere in the middle of an interesting small town with plenty to do and see. The breakfast was truly outstanding
- Carolyn (10/5): - Michael is the perfect host and a great storyteller. Jeff must be a gourmet chef the breakfasts were amazing!!
- Gina (10/5): - We had the most amazing experience at the Dolon House. The house itself was beautiful. The owners Michael and Jeffri were wonderful. The attention to detail was outstanding. We sat on the front porch during a passing shower and enjoyed a cup of tea. The breakfast was more of an experience than just a breakfast. The food was delicious, but it was more than that. Michael is a wonderful storyteller and we learned so much about the history of Jim Thorpe. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay here!! Thank you! Scott and Gina Wagner
- Chris (10/5): - This was our first time staying at the Dolon House. We were greeted by Michael, the innkeeper, who gave us a tour and helped us with our bags. The Turrett Room was spacious, having a separate sitting room for coffee and reading. The unique trinkets and decor they’ve collected over the years are so neat. The breakfast was complex and perfect, nothing I’ve ever experienced before. My husband the picky eater, was catered to with eggs and ham, you just need to speak up, they want to please you. The coffee and lattes which were included at breakfast were top notch. They really put the love into their breakfast and hospitality. I would definitely recommend staying here and plan on returning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Our New Go-To - It was unreal! The amount of love and care that is in The Dolon House leaves me speechless. The owners' hospitality cannot be beat!
- David (10/5): - Best B&B we have visited since the pandemic. Comfort, artwork, and breakfast just perfect in all respects. Cozy and what you want and expect. House is a historic gem that owners are wonderful to share with guests.
Just enough around outside the front door in Jim Thorpe to be interesting without touristy.
- Renee (10/5): - Beautiful, quaint Victorian with tons of beautiful antiques to admire. Surrounding area extremely safe with tons of shops and places to eat. Visiting Jim Thorpe is akin to stepping back in time and is also very much like visiting modern day European towns steeped in history.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Me and my wife loved staying at the Dolon House, very unique and beautiful rooms our hosts Michael and Jefferie were so excellent and accommodating,we will be going back to stay again
- Katherine (10/5): - What an amazing property!! So much to see! The hosts are fantastic!! Love this place and the breakfasts are delicious.
- Dawn (10/5): - I had a terrific time staying at the Dolon House
- Claudia (10/5): - Gorgeous Queen Anne Victorian B&B! Like stepping back in time, but with all the modern comforts. The innkeepers were very knowledgeable in the history of the Jim Thorpe area and recommended the best sites and restaurants to visit while we were there. The 3-course breakfast is not to be missed. We had a lovely stay for our anniversary and can't wait for the opportunity to visit again.
- Brian (10/5): We will be back...... not in a terminator way :D - Amazing B&B - Jeffri and Michael could not have been more helpful. Perfect location, great breakfast (3 course - local produce), lots of local information to ensure you make the most of your stay. Great balcony with some local sparkling wines. We will be back!! Thanks Carolyn and Brian
- Suzanne (10/5): - Are you familiar with the phrase, It doesn't get much better than this? Well, the Dolon House epitomizes that! This inn
is a true labor of love for Michael and Jeffri. They have taken an 1888 mansion, maintained its integrity, filled it with antiques and art, provided a homey relaxed atmosphere in which to visit the quaint town of Jim Thorpe, and offered not only superlative hospitality but gourmet cuisine. I have traveled the world and stayed at many fine places, and the Dolon House ranks among the very best!
- Geralyn (10/5): Loved This Place! - Oh, my goodness, this is an exceptional BnB in every way; welcoming, helpful hosts, beautiful accommodations and a breakfast that may be the tastiest and best presented I’ve ever had. We will be back!
- Edward (10/5): - This old mansion has been carefully updated by the owners, Michael and Jeffrey. The rooms are immaculate and all of the furnishings, decorations, and things like towels, bathrobes, etc are of the highest quality. These guys have spared no expense in making this place super nice. We stayed in the Doc Dougherty suite which included an outer sitting room, a king-sized bed, and a big bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. But the nicest thing about our stay was the lovely and very unique breakfast served by Michael and prepared by Jeffrey. It was all locally sourced and very fresh. My wife and I enjoyed our visit to this BnB and are planning to return.
- Melbourne (10/5): - We had a great time at the Dolon House in Jim Thorpe highly recommend.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Excellent staff and breakfast!!
- Sara (10/5): - The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and exquisitely delicious.
- JoAnn (10/5): - Michael and Jeffery were wonderful hosts. Look forward to going back again.
- Arthur (10/5): - The hosts were friendly and engaging, but the best was the three course breakfast that was served each morning. Wonderful stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone wishing to get away for a few days.
- glenn (10/5): - The owners were the best at hospitality! Felt so comfortable! The bed and breakfast was astonishing! Filled to the brim with art, Nick nacks and antiques! Food was beyond amazing! We will definitely visit again and again!
- Cathleen (10/5): - Owners are wonderful. Gourmet breakfast every morning. House is amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at The Dolon House bed and breakfast. Michael and Jeffery are both wonderful hosts- they were so welcoming and helpful. The house is beautiful and filled with interesting pieces from all over the world, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved everything about this B&B. The decor, the food, the location and especially out hosts Michael and Jeffery
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The home was beautiful The rooms were large and had more than everything one needed The hosts were so warm and filled with wonderful stories about the area ,history ,art and more The food or breakfast was outstanding The best I have ever had We are planning our next visit to this true hidden gem
- Michael (10/5): Jim Thorpe's Fabulous B&B - My wife and I highly recommend a stay at the Dolon House if you're in the Jim Thorpe area. The innkeepers, Michael and Jeffri, were the perfect hosts. Whether it was the most amazing breakfasts, the fabulous curiosities adorning the inn, or the interesting conversations with the proprietors, everything about our stay was wonderful. Both Michael and Jeffri are eager to share their knowledge of the town and the region and its place in the history of the American Industrial Revolution. We had such a great experience that we are eager to come back. You'll feel the same way after you stay at the Dolon House.
- Michael and Merryl
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent. Breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Michael and Jeffri were excellent hosts. Their home is a museum with unique and beautiful art and is very well maintained. They gave us excellent recommendations for the area and were very kind. They wore masks and you could tell covid safety was priority. Breakfast was exquisite !! Wow!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a house from the late 1800's. There are many of the original features that are still in the home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Coming back soon - Super amazing
- Bender's (10/5): - The owners were very caring and really looked out for the guests. All the rooms were so intriguing with so many antiques to look at. The breakfasts were like no other my husband and I have ever eaten. It was an awesome 2 nights. Thank you so much Jeffri and Mike
- Mark (10/5): Dolon Inn experience - Michael the Inn owner greeted us as we pulled up with a big smile. He helped us with our bags and gave us a mini tour of the house which was built in the late 1800’s by shipping barons. The attention to detail he and his partner gave to restoring this gem of a house to its previous prominence. Our room had a King size bed which was wonderful with antique items everywhere including dozens of pieces of artwork on the walls. The downstairs areas were the same. When you come in you feel like you’ve been transported back to 1885 and are visiting the original owners as everything looks exactly as it would have back then. The whole experience works because the innkeepers provide special attention and love to their guests. Anyone looking to have this unique experience should consider at least a few nights at this unique Inn located in the historic downtown of Jim Thorpe
- Terri (10/5): The best place to stay in Jim Thorpe - We loved everything about our stay from the room, the hosts and the delicious food.
- Lauren (10/5): Amazing Stay! - If I could give the Parsonage a higher rating than the site allows, I would. We absolutely loved staying here. The house was decorated with amazing art and historical items- we could have spent days just exploring the building itself. We stayed in Elinor's room, which was very comfortable and equipped with all of the amenities you could possibly need, and then some. We enjoyed spending time in the beautiful common areas as well.
The location is perfect- we could easily walk to several great restaurants and bars, as well as local attractions in Jim Thorpe. Michael was very helpful and went out of his way to ensure we knew of the best things to see and do nearby.
Above all, the breakfast blew us away! Multiple courses, an interesting menu with local ingredients, artistic presentation and incredibly delicious! Jeffri is a truly talented chef, and Michael was a wonderful host for the meal. It is easily the nicest breakfast we've ever had in a B&B.
It is clear that Michael and Jeffri put an incredible amount of thought and care into making sure that their guests feel welcome and accommodated in every way. We look forward to visiting again at their new space!
- Mike (10/5): - Great B&B, loved everything about it. The owners, Michael and Jeffrie went out of their way to insure we enjoyed our stay at the Parsonage and in the area, they recommended things to do and places to eat. Both were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfasts at the Parsonage were amazing. Definetely a must stay if your in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A fantastic stay! Wonderful breakfast with great hosts who are knowledgeable of the area, its history, and just friendly overall. They bwgin a new venture in the BnB world soon and we hope to visit them again there!
- sung (10/5): - It is awesome place and so wonderful service.
If I have an another chance to visit to Jim Thorpe then I will be stayed
in the Parsonage B&B again. no doubt it at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Food was great. Host was very accomaditing. House and room was very comfortable.
- DALE (10/5): - Amazing hosts and great service and best food ever
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nicely decorated B&B, close to downtown, with very good breakfasts, but communication issues with owners - i.e. unwelcomed when dropping off luggage prior to dictated check-in time, alot of "you must", and comments on going through Expedia instead of through them.
- Pete&Patricia (10/5): - This has to be the best B & B we have ever stayed in. The hosts, facility, furnishings and food were fantastic. This has to be THE go to place to stay in Jim Thorpe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners of this B&B are incredibly welcoming and helpful in every way. Breakfast is to die for. Their home is uniquely decorated with antiques, art work, and curiosities. The home is the oldest in town and has interesting history and convenient location to everything in town. We would return in a heartbeat!
- STEPHEN (10/5): - As usual, an amazing breakfast!
- Dennis (10/5): Great get away! - Only one way to describe our stay : AMAZING!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really comfortable bed, lovely room and hosts, sumptuous breakfast.
- Steve (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Breakfast was truly the highlight.
- Susan (10/5): Great B&B! - The hosts were very welcoming. Helped us with our luggage. Filled with interesting collectibles & personal touches. Arranged an early breakfast for us. Chef Jeffery cooked us an excellent breakfast with fresh fruits and gourmet omelet with local made sausage. Definitely would stay there again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jim Thorpe Parsonage B&B - Awesome B&B. Great location - easy 5-min walk to all of Jim Thorpe's must sees, shops, restaurants, etc., but in a quiet part of town. Very nice historic premises with something to see or read in every corner of place. Comfortable bed and outstanding breakfast!!! Also had porches, gazebo, and extensive garden to add to the relaxation.
Our only regret is that we only had two nights there.
- dorothy (10/5): Another Time, same B & B - We had a wonderful impromptu stay at the Parsonage. 5 stars all around!
Michael and Jeffri were the best. Hopefully next trip will be extended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful - cannot wait to go again & again! - This was the first time in many years that my husband and I got a night away without the kids. We loved every minute of our stay at the Parsonage - Jeffri greeted us and was very warm, friendly, and immediately helpful with recommendations to help us enjoy our brief time in the area. He had wonderful recommendations about things to do that fit our requests (we wanted to hike, enjoy great food, and relax). He recommended many hikes and a nearby winery! The room was perfect and though the inn was full, it felt as though we had the whole home to ourselves. In the morning, breakfast was delicious.
We asked many questions and Jeffri was able to dazzle us with knowledge on all subjects. He had fascinating information about Jim Thorpe and many other topics.
We discussed local lore, wines, many other travel destinations, food, and more. The location cannot be beat. You can easily walk to hiking trails and to all the shops and restaurants in town. We hope to return again and again.
- Anya (10/5): Couple’s getaway - This place is beautiful and full of character and unique details. All appliances are modern and everything is very clean. Oweners are the nicest and most accomodating people I have ever met. Breakfast is truly fancy and fun with only local fresh handmade ingredients. True bed and breakfast experience. If you are in the area do not hesitate and book a room if they have availability.
- Kathy (10/5): Great time - We had an awesome time. House is beautiful and breakfast was amazing. William and Jeofrey were great hosts. The house was beautiful. I enjoyed shopping in town and going out for dinner and drinks. Thanks for such a great time. We will be back.
- Jenna (10/5): Amazing B&B in Jim Thorpe! - My husband and I loved our stay here. Michael and Jeffri were amazing hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area, and of the history. They provided excellent customer service and noted every detail to make the stay most welcoming and enjoyable for their guests. The breakfast was fabulous and the ambience was unique and cozy. An overall wonderful place to stay! The location was in the historic area of Jim Thorpe and was within walking distance to all of the attractions. We really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend it and would stay here again for sure!! Best of the best!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Moody - Inn keepers can be moody. But worth a stay.
- Juliana (10/5): Wonderful Memories! - Erik and I put together a last minute, one-night 'honeymoon', where we stayed at The Parsonage. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer.
Right when we were pulling up, I told Erik "Please tell me that's our B&B!"! A gorgeous building, tastefully decorated for the holiday season, we were both in love before we walked in. After seeing more of the house, it was clear how much Jeffri and Michael care about their guests and maintaining a warm home-away-from-home. No detail forgotten. Not to mention, the breakfast was exemplary: Delicious, beautiful dishes, presented with interesting conversation. I could go on and on...but I'll just say that Erik and I hope to be able to stay again sometime soon.
