- lindahU3780HW (8/5): Lovely Hotel - Lovely hotel. Spent 2 nights in the Kennedy Suite which was big and airy with lovely decor. The bathroom was a bit disappointing as it was basic a bit of a let down considering the bedroom was lovely. States there is a jacuzzi in the bathroom but there isn't. The bathroom has a jet bath and a separate shower.
Breakfast was delicious but the one night we ate in hotel, unfortunately the carbonara was awful.
Some lovely pubs up the town. I'd recommend the old stand which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel or if your young and like a bit of night life then I'd highly recommend James Griffins which is a 20 minute walk.

- oliviawM4581TN (10/5): Superb - Our experience in this hotel from start to finish was just amazing. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We went away for our Anniversary and we got upgraded to a Suite which was beautiful and such a lovely surprise. We watched the Ireland rugby game in the bar and they had a Draw... your name was written down for a prize of a €100 one for all gift card when you bought a pint of guinness during the game and I was delighted when it was my name that was picked. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was top class. So I'd like to thank the Castle Arch Hotel for a very enjoyable stay.

- CarmelM61 (10/5): Michelle and Carmel’s stay at the Castle Arch Hotel Trim - From the moment myself and my friend entered the Castle Arch Hotel we were met with an extremely friendly courteous reception staff member. The room was very very clean and comfortable . The room offer included our evening meal which was outstandingly delicious. I had steak served on a bed of onions and mash with pepper sauce on the side. My Friiend had a scrumptious carbonara with prawns added as requested . The serving staff Rennell was most gracious and brilliant at her job and did her utmost to ensure we were well catered for. I would highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness comfort value for money and above all the top notch high standard restaurant quality of food to include breakfast the following morning. Well done everybody at the Castle Arch Hotel
- Paula (8/5): - Great hotel, right in the middle of Trim.
Lovely restaurant and staff!
A liitle expensive, the price of hotels in this country has gone mad!
- 656darreno (2/5): Avoid at weekends if you want sleep, and management to respond! - Impossible to Sleep (avoid at all costs at the weekend)
I’ve waited a couple of days to give the general manager time to call and discuss this stay so it’s time to post my honest review (it’s a complaint letter)!
I booked this hotel specifically for its advertised "quiet and serene" environment, needing proper rest (I was lecturing all weekend). Unfortunately, my three-night stay was a masterclass in failed hospitality and broken promises, defined by a complete lack of proactive care and transparency.
Here is the exact noise timeline:
· Night 1: Was quiet and comfortable, as expected. Ironically, this was the cheapest night of the three.
· Night 2: Music from an on-site event was audible but finished at 10 PM. I messaged the hotel about this disturbance but received no response, missing their clear opportunity to rectify the situation for my final night.
· Night 3: The situation was intolerable. At one stage I even considered sleeping in my car! The music was far louder and, along with the subsequent cleanup, created disruptive noise levels that persisted until approximately 2:30 AM.
The hotel's solution after the fact was to offer cheap, ineffective earplugs—an insult for a room costing over £110 per night. I was forced to attend my conference obligations sleep deprived, which was both unprofessional and reputationally damaging.
The management's handling was the true failure. There was no prior warning: the event was not mentioned on their website, their Expedia profile, or by the receptionist at check-in. Their claim to have tried calling me was false (no missed calls), and a critical notice was buried in a document link sent to my spam folder. Most egregiously, despite my early complaint, I was never offered an alternative room and was seemingly left in a highly affected area. I am still waiting for a response to these issues three days later!
Their disclaimer about making "every effort" to minimise impact felt like a cruel joke. No meaningful effort was made. I was trapped, paying for a room that was unfit for purpose on the most expensive night. I had to favour an extra half hour in bed so had no time to eat the breakfast I had paid for on Sunday!
The consequences extended beyond simple inconvenience. As someone with a disability, the lack of sleep severely aggravates a chronic back condition, causing significant pain during Sunday. This physical toll directly impacted my professional performance during my Sunday teaching session. I was visibly shattered, and this was noted by my students in their session evaluations—an embarrassing and unprofessional outcome directly resulting from the hotel's lack of care for its guests.
This experience was a breach of consumer trust and duty of care. The hotel clearly prioritises its events over guest well-being. If that is their policy, they should stop selling rooms to non-event guests on those nights. If you are one of those potential guests in the future you might want to find another hotel!
I have rarely felt so disregarded as a customer. This stay was an expensive, stressful, and disgraceful failure that I would strongly warn others to avoid. The fact that management couldn’t care less to follow up on this complaint is evidence that hospitality is a misnomer!

- Mike (9/5): Lovely hotel that I enjoyed staying in - The room was comfortable and the location was great The walls were quite thin in that I could hear the room next door.

Castle Arch Hotel Review
Castle Arch Hotel is truly outstanding and remains my number one hotel in Ireland. This was my second time hosting an event at the hotel, and the experience was even better than the first. Each time, the service has been exceptional — warm, professional, and incredibly attentive.
The staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly, making the entire process stress-free. The hospitality, beautiful setting, and attention to detail were top class, and our guests were thoroughly impressed.
I would confidently recommend Castle Arch Hotel anytime and anywhere to anyone looking for quality service, comfort, and a team that genuinely cares. I look forward to many more events here in the future!
- elainemM127AY (10/5): Great Hospitality - Great services and exactly what was needed. The bedrooms are recently refurbished and the food in the bar is excellent, all staff members i came across very mannered and well equipped to do their job. Would recommend as trim is only a few minute walk from the hotel.
- O5668GLkatem (8/5): Cosy - Not my 1st stay here and do like this hotel. Very cozy and food is good in the bar and atmosphere is chilled.
However when I asked the barman what was the" roast of the day" thats not his job to know, "I am the barman." There,s no "i" in team. After my reaction he decided to go check. As a past pub owner and past hospitality staff, you make it your business to know, you are the first face the customer will see, its not an art form to pour a pint, particularly with 3 people sitting at the bar.
Lovely girl gave me recommendation for food and she was spot on the food was delicious.
Room nice, cosy and just what I needed..the nepresso machine a bonus so if your not looking for upmost luxury to sit back and relax for a few days, but to use as a base then this is an ideal place for you.
And Archie the cat is a winner around the carpark...great customer service from him
- Voyage791941 (2/5): 2 night break/disaster! - The location is great and rooms are lovely. No view at all from bedroom windows as they're half privacy glass and ours looked out onto a tiled roof. Didn't get a chance to enjoy break as ended up getting food poisoned on first night in restaurant and spent the whole break between bed and toilet! Manager of hotel offered a free meal in the restaurant as a good will gesture. Very insulted by that. Safe to say we won't be back!
- 284aoifek (10/5): Beautiful hotel - What a fantastic hotel, the room was amazing ( we were upgraded to the bridal suite) The food was gorgeous that includes our evening meal and breakfast. Staff was very friendly.
Everything was perfect. We definitely recommend.
- amiemoran91 (10/5): Lovely hotel friendly staff - Lovely hotel, staff really friendly, a really nice warm atmosphere! Food in carvery was lovely :) Location really good only a
Short walk to trim castle
- D1275MVjoans (2/5): Nightmare - Toilet in bathroom wouldn't flush food dreadful duty manager clueless when making a complaint cut weekend short home on Sunday an absolute nightmare experience would never recommend this hotel
- yvonne (8/5): fair - breakfast is lovely no free bottle water in the room. phone in the room not working. no dial tone
- S6356BOfionam (10/5): Weekend away - Having read some reviews on line that were not positive i was a bit unsure

- Elizabeth (10/5): A cosy friendly hotel - Great food and attentive staff Couldn’t fault this hotel
- Karen (10/5): -
- robert (7/5): But for the above it would have been great - That I was given an upgrade to a double room The double room was directly above a very loud exhaust fan or air conditioner unit that ran from the afternoon till late at night.
- malgorzatat815 (2/5): Terrible experience - Am not happy at all. Pure rip off !!! You can’t book room online you have to do it over the phone and pay at arrival. We booked room for 3 people and over the phone lady said that it’s gonna be €169 when we arrived they gave us two rooms and charged us €370 what a joke!!!!! For 3 star hotel, old fashioned room and bathroom with very bad smell for one night!! Really?? We came for a hen party and It wasn’t our fault that they had no room for 3 of us cause agreement over the phone was different. And we had to stay and pay cause we had no other choice. Pure rip off!! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!

- tonyking1006 (8/5): Nice stay - A pleasant stay , 4 nights. Nicely located and convenient free parking. Check in experience is smooth. Room is quite basic , had a twin room. No bottled water provided, 2 hangars in wardrobes. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and clear direction on using the shower. Had dinner on site each day and it was flawless. Service was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was fair . Orange juice only , choice of 2 cereals, white and brown bread. Poor selection for cold and continental. Hot food was good, I had scrambled eggs 2 mornings, poached egg and porridge. Plenty of tea or coffee. All in all the experience was good, good value I would return.
- markkF5547RG (2/5): Carvery - Whole family went here for carvery last Sunday it was terrible, under cooked veg, cold potatoes fatty meat, everyones food cold, one lady serving food, poor bar service,Carvery here used to be excellent with lovely food and great service, its changed drastically very very poor, wont be returning

- matlacey1 (10/5): Great for Weddings - Was at the Castle Arch hotel Trim for a wedding and stayed two nights. Staff were very helpful, rooms big and airer and clean. Staff were very helpful. The hotel isn't that big and can get busy especially at weekends as the locals use it for their brilliant food. The car park fills up very quickly as a result. All rooms are on the first floor, there is a lift. There are two or three function rooms so hotel gets busy at weekends especially. The breakfast is good, made to order but there could be a better choice of fresh fruit as I only saw water melon each morning. Nevertheless I would recommend this hotel and would go back
- Ciaran (8/5): -

- J5546SQbryanr (10/5): A nice surprise. - Castle Arch Hotel, is a great choice, if you want a good place to stay, and you’re on a budget, you can’t do better.
We stayed at the Castle Arch Hotel, in Trim, so we could attend the Púca Festival. The property is older, and not quite in the town center, but that’s okay. Trim is really walkable. The property itself is well maintained and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our first night there, we had dinner in the in house restaurant, which was actually recommended by a local to Trim. We enjoyed the food. We also purchased the breakfast option for our stay and we were not disappointed with the quality of the food. I would highly recommend getting a late lunch / early supper at the carvery at least once. My wife still raves about the roast turkey.
Castle Arch Hotel has ample parking, but my wife and I didn’t have a car this trip. The bus stop for intercity busses was about a mile away, but again, Trim is walkable and easy to navigate.
Trim should be on your Ireland itinerary, and the Castle Arch Hotel is a great choice for a place to stay.
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely hotel in centre of Trim. We enjoyed our stay as it was comfortable, warm and clean. The staff were fabulous and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend and would stay again. Nothing to add

- F8841PYpamelag (10/5): Just what was needed - Very central & within walking distance of town. Lovely atmosphere. Room was clean & spacious, quiet. Bathroom a bit outdated but very well cleaned. Great value for overnight stay with late checkout. Service & food was top notch. Couldn't have asked for a nicer break away. Trim is a lovely town with a fantastic walkway.
