- Alan (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. What a beautiful city - Breakfast was great. You could get a nice light breakfast if you’re headed out on tours or you could order a heartier plate. Fruit, breads and pastries were excellent. Staff was extremely helpful. They carried out bags up and down the stairs since there aren’t any elevators. Transportation to and from the airport was arranged for us. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to many meeting points for the tours. There really isn’t anything we didn’t like about the hotel. Wonderful experience

It is a pedestrian only city yet convenient parking is available at a reasonable fee a 5 min walk away. The stone walls and floor stayed cold for much of the first day. We were there in the spring so no issue after June.

Breakfast was great. A lot of options and very clean. Our bed was comfortable, room was clean, cool & inviting. Traveled w/my spouse & would definitely return. When we arrived, the door was locked & no one answered. We tried calling, but no answer. We decided to knock louder, someone answered & let us know we were at the incorrect location & walked us to the correct location. We booked the annex location, but google maps took us to the other location. Just be mindful of this if using google maps......

- Naya (9/5): Perfect for a night's stay. - The complimentary shuttle from the ferry was AWESOME. We were being pummeled by a storm and needed to be driven to the hotel. Also loved the history of the place and ample space. A few snacks and drinks in the room would have been so great after our crazy ferry journey. There is no minibar or a restaurant in the building so you have to venture out for a coke. Also there isn't a full time person on the property, which makes it complicated to get questions answered.

Two layers of bread with a creamy sweet filling topped with fresh fruit. We were in a junior suite and the room was spacious and comfortable. So happy we stayed there.

The shower enclosure was not sealed and the shower spray handle was replaced with a cheap substitute. The shower sprayed water all over the main bathroom floor and we had to mop it up with extra towels.

- Suparna (10/5): Great location, fabulous staff, lovely rooms - Villa Split has well appointed rooms that make one feel like one is staying in a old, well preserved building. We loved the exposed wooden beams and the furnishings. The staff is fabulous - friendly and helpful. The location, within the Diocletian's Palace is perfect. A couple of drawbacks: -The bathroom is very small. -At night we could hear loud partygoers for a few hours longer than ideal, but perhaps that would be the case anywhere else within the palace. -Toiletries are provided in small, single use plastic bottles, which most hotels have moved away from since those are not as eco-friendly as dispensers.

Meaning you have to be dropped off and get luggage carried over or both two and from the hotel. Also, the amenities were pretty bad, considering a four-star hotel From shampoo to conditioner to not have wash cloths, etc. You also have to ask for Ice each time there is no Ice Machine but the staff was very nice and helpful.

The building is part of the Diocletian Palace. So if you love traveling history and not just reading history--- stay at the Villa Split.

- Susan (9/5): This hotel is a comfortable and peaceful option right in the heart of the old city. - We found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to share recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. Breakfast was very good between the buffet and made-to-order options. We also really liked how they handled drop off at the hotel. Since it's in a car-free area, they directed our cab to the closest point we could drive to. Then, staff from the hotel met us at the cab, took our bags, and guided us to the hotel. Well done! We were not aware that the hotel had 2 different buildings that were a few minutes walk away from each other. Our group had reserved a total of 3 rooms but we were surprised to find ourselves in two different buildings and unable to meet in the breakfast room to plan our days together as is our custom.

The gentleman asked me to describe the landmarks around me. Within minutes, "Zoran" showed up, grabbed our bags, and brought us to the hotel, which is over 1000 years old. The hotel was luxurious, romantic, and charming. The establishment exceeded our expectations. The staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and all that this little gem hand offered. The hotel is located in the center of this antique city and handy to everything. Would we go back? In a heartbeat

- Karin (10/5): Amazing hotel, a historic experience with modern day comfort - The location of this hotel is fabulous - right in the heart of split on quaint side streets. We stayed in the two different buildings they had - our kids in one building and us in the other. When they realized we were in different buildings they offered to correct it but we got to see both. The junior suite is luxurious and spacious. The double room in the older building (older Roman walls) was so comfortable and stylish. This property has done an incredible job making a very modern, comfortable hotel while protecting the old structures and old world charm. The staff is beyond friendly. We parked in the nearby garage and one gentleman carried our belongings all the way to the property while chatting the whole way. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Breakfast was also unique and delicious.

Amazing experience, wonderful staff and delicious breakfast. if you want a different experience, like staying in an old town where there was an emperor Palace, do this! better air condition but it was still good, not super cold .

Staff were very nice and helpful with guidance around parking, restaurants, and especially where to get the best ice cream in Split. Breakfast was superb.The bedroom was on the small side but perfectly adequate and in keeping the charm of the old house. Nothing, even better than expected.

- Tuliplover345 (10/5): Great boutique hotel and wonderful staff! - Wonderful boutique hotel in the Center with amazing staff from Jacob, who helps with bags, to Zoran, also very helpful and even walked us to our restaurant that night so we would not get lost! Both of the ladies were also helpful! Sorry not recalling the names.. The rooms are so unique with the stone walls and modern accents and we could sleep 3. It was a great experience with a delicious breakfast the next day too.. wish we could have stayed longer!

- Hussein (8/5): - Extremely well located, quaint, very nicely attended by a restricted staff... ... albeit not offering — I imagine — the full amenities of the mother hotel situated inside the perimeter of the Diocletian Palace grounds.
