Guest Reviews
- Ulrich (10/5): Sehr schön - Abgelegen in schönem Naturpark.
- McCubbin (10/5): - Loved the old colonial feel to the place, the cosy dinners around the fire and best of all the tame Duiker and other wild life that roam around the lodge. :) would 100% recommend to everyone, the staff are so accommodating and even hung up our laundry for us when we needed it.
- Guilherme (10/5): -
- Stoddard (7/5): A beautiful historic house but there could be some improvements. - The Lodge is of historical interest and great care has been taken to keep the charm of the buildings and rooms. I really enjoyed the dinner sitting around the fire and chatting to other travelers. The semi-tame duikers living in the grounds were a delight to watch. The hikes were not well marked from the lodge. Some signs have been damaged after a veld fire and have not been replaced. The staff were sometimes on their phones watching videos and the sound of this was intrusive in such a peaceful setting.

- Detlef (8/5): - Nice location in a National Park It is starting to look worn
- Miriam (10/5): -
- Anselmo (10/5): Excellent! - The staff took great care of me during the four days of my stay. It was raining some of the days, which limited my options. However, on a sunny day, I went on a game drive, which was a lot of fun.
- Warren (7/5): Good experience overall. - Location. Quality Bed and linen. Friendly staff. Wildlife on grounds. Nobody at reception on arrival. Needed to find someone in the back.
Also whenever you required anything staff were not always at hand.
- Mike (8/5): Quiet and peaceful with very friendly staff and a lovely outside dinner - The location . Very quiet and amazing views . The ambience of the outside dinner was exceptional Breakfast could have been better but it was sufficient
- Nomfundo (8/5): Serenity - Connecting with nature
- Harald (8/5): Extremely relaxing environment. Great location to explore the game reserve and hiking trails. - The atmosphere and location are fantastic. It’s like traveling in time. The food and wine is simply cheap and tasteless.
- Stefanie (8/5): -

- Katrine (8/5): A colonial lodge - A wonderful location in the forest.
A lot of animals walking around and beautiful birds.
Be aware that you might get lost trying to found the hotel! But it is really worth it.
- Luis (8/5): -

- Suzanne (9/5): Fantastic! - What a special place. Although it needs some maintenance, it breathes the old times. The park is breathtaking. If you pass eSwatini, go here, you will not regret! If you are taller than 1.85, carefully book your room. Some bed are really short and small. Regular rooms have small beds
- Clara (8/5): -
- Kris (8/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Nice stay in Eswatini - Super location and very friendly staff -
- Andries (8/5): Prachtige ligging.
- Randy (10/5): If you want to stay in Mlilwane, go to Reillys Rock - Everthing!
Beautiful room and location
Amazing staff and very helpfull
Amazing view!
Lovely food
Best place to book in Mlilwane Nothing
- Tom (7/5): -
- Tea (9/5): -
- Edoardo (10/5): Amazing stay in the middle of the nature - In the middle of the park, plenty of hiking/running routes Position, food and staff
- guillaume (10/5): -
- Kim (7/5): - Nice location, nice staff Room was small with no window.
Dinner was very basic and bland with little choice.
- Fam.
- Henriette (9/5): Amazing - would love to go back one day. - The staff was amazingly friendly and supportive. The location and buildings are just beautiful. The scenery exceptional. Loved the fireside eating at night. The staff was so helpful in catering for gluten free options. Even made gluten free pancakes one morning. The garden and birds are out of this world. I love the ethos in protection of wildlife. Seeped in history.
- Janet (8/5): It was a really unique experience, great food, great ambiance of dinner around a campfire. - The food was the highlight.
There are excellent walking paths around the nature reserve allowing for really great walks. The rooms were very small and lacking natural light.
- William (8/5): Very good -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was wonderful and the lodge is a glimpse of paradise
- Priscilla (10/5): Reilly’s Rock is my happy place. - Beautiful gardens, delicious meals, wonderful staff, incredible nature, and no kids. I can’t own it.
- Cornéa (10/5): Lovely old school Lodge - A dream come through, nice comfortable old style rooms, beautiful grounds, peaceful, super nice staff and good food.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A beautiful quiet location with nature all around - Wonderful location tucked in Mlilwane wildlife sanctuary. The property is full of history, interesting little animals and a calm that will restore your soul. I felt that the reception to the wildlife santuary (Not Reilly's) could have done a better job at explaining how to get to the property. I arrived late on a very rainy night and we came upon a security guard by luck who helped us get to the property.
- Marc (10/5): Beautiful old building with sprawling veranda, beautiful gardens, and superb staff. - The location was stunning and the staff were outstanding. Lizzy and Bethu were very friendly and accommodating. The standard room was comfortable (nicest sheets of any hotel we've ever stayed at) and the decor was lovely. The gardens in particular were spectacular and unexpected. Wifi didn't work great in the rooms, but was adequate in the main lounge.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Priscilla (9/5): My favorite place to stay in Eswatini. - The lodge is nestled in a beautiful location surrounded by a botanical garden and teaming with duikers, lizards, and birds. The staff is welcoming and always ready to help. The WiFi is spotty but honestly this is a place to unplug and put down your devices (except your camera!)
- Craig (9/5): A hidden gem in the game reserve - Wonderful, welcoming staff. Great attention to detail for meals; we loved the dinner around the fireplace.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (9/5): Cosy haven of peace at the heart of Mlilwane - - Charming house with amazing location and fantastic views
- Staff is very nice
- Food was good, with nice dinner outside by the fire
- Walk directly from the lodge in the reserve
- ‘adventure’ vibe with savannah noises and plenty of animals around - No drinking water, I would have expected filtered water available for free or at least one bottle offered
- Bed was a bit small
- No A/C and the fan was quite noisy
A pool or jacuzzi would have been amazing
- Karyn (10/5): Unique lodge and unique setting - Reilly’s Rock and Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary were amazing! The setting of Reilly’s Rock under the very old jacaranda tree which was still in bloom during our stay was almost magical. We loved wondering around the entire property looking at the animals and vegetation or sitting on the veranda sipping a drink and watching the bees, birds and monkeys. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. We also hiked to the top of Execution Mountain from the lodge which offered nice views. The trails are marked but can be a bit confusing. It may be better to take a photo of the trail map at the campsite bulletin board. We stayed in the Red room in the cottage. It is a small room, but very bright, cute and comfortable. However, note that there is no refrigerator in the room and only a clawfoot bathtub, but the tub was extra long and hot water came out quickly. Breakfast on the veranda was delicious with homemade croissants and eggs to order. The homemade buffet dinner around the campfire was tasty and fun to chat with other travelers. It is also worth visiting the campsite grounds for a swim in the huge pool and to read about the history of the camp and learn about Jezebel. We loved Reilly’s Rock and will definitely return if in the area. Nothing. It was lovely.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Beautiful lodge in a wonderful location in the national park. Beautiful nature and garden with nice views. Nice personnel and nice breakfast and dinner. Some parts need some renovation, but overall very nicely maintained.
- Cornelia (9/5): Great location. Both dinner and breakfast was great! We had a good stay. - Great location. Both dinner and breakfast was great! We had a good stay.
- Rick (9/5): Superb - Wonderful surroundings, attentive staff, beautiful grounds, enchanting animals.
- Stefan (10/5): Wonderful sanctuary stay - The views were spectacular, the people were so nice. You can have dinner inside when it rains or outside next to the campfire if the weather allows. Sooooo many birds at the feeders. Loads of duikers at the property. We had some heavy rain and it is quite a climb to the Hilltop with our Volkswagen Polo. It would be good to add some additional signs, as we were sometimes scared we took a wrong turn.
- Kevin (9/5): Incredible colonial style experience - The location, the accommodation, the room, the staff,.. This was an incredible 'colonial style' experience. Getting there was difficult. Google maps was giving wrong directions. There should be more guidance at the park entrance instead of letting us drive offroad for a few km's in the dark, opening and closing gates between the animals. They should also fix the doors instead of accepting that the rooms can't be closed.
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): A hidden gem in a lovely secluded spot - Warm welcom from lovely, smiley staff.
Gorgeous old , well maintained historical buildings.
Magnificent old trees in garden with the sweetest little buck roaming around . Nothing
- Irina (9/5): Great place to stay in Eswatini - Nice location and very friendly staff Very difficult to find, directions are unclear. Also they didn’t accept cards for payment
- Adam (10/5): Dreamy and serene. - My second time staying at Reilly's Rock. It is an incredible spot for a relaxing weekend away. Room was cozy and comfortable with a fireplace on a cold night. Peaceful walks in the reserve were exactly what I needed. The staff are the best.
- Pamela (10/5): A perfect paradise - It is not an easy place to find as it is in the middle of the Mlilwane game park. Not for the faint hearted traveller 😂 It is perfect in every way. The silence is wonderful and the surroundings are beautiful beyond belief. The Reilly family have put their all into the properties in the park and Reilly’s Rock is a perfect example. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The gardens are stunning. The staff are a total delight. I couldn’t find fault even if I tried!!!
- Khahliso (8/5): Very good - Very friendly staff, tranquil and peaceful n/a
- A.j. (9/5): Relaxing days with friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Dinner served around a fire place. - good, complete breakfast, super chamber full of history, beautiful hiking possibilities
- Muzi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (7/5): Good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Gavin (9/5): Superb -
- Sebastiaan (9/5): Superb - Lovely location with super friendly staff
- Joanne (10/5): Fabulous friendly staff who make the stay complete - Beautiful setting with lovely colonial feel about it V difficult to find , especially in the dark.
- Romulo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (9/5): Didn’t want to leave and wish we could have stayed longer! - Beautiful location and view, amazing staff, rooms were gorgeous and had that old world charm All wonderful - maybe the road up was little rough if car is low
- Andy (7/5): Quirky place with colonial history. Needs a bit of updating - Great location, story surrounding the property with lots of interesting historical artefacts Very dated accommodation - shower over a free standing bath only. Not informed we were sharing our lodge with other guests
- Paula (9/5): Fabulous stay in a hilltop setting - Beautiful location set in a nature reserve with lovely views. Lots of wildlife and birds to observe. Allow yourself time to do one of the walking trails, we only had an overnight stay so there wasn't really enough time to take advantage of it. Fascinating history of Mick Reilly and how the lodge came about. Nothing
- Trevor (9/5): A unique superb colonial style lodge - Excellent location.Fantastic staff, excellent Boma dinner. Sign posting from the main gate needs to improve, particularly if arriving after dark as we did. A map at the gate would easily solve this.
- Ivan (8/5): Quite and peaceful place surrounded by greenery - Greenery around, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, quietness nature feeling Rooms are dark, lighting too white so no cozy feeling, maybe more lamps, feels to be in an old house that needs some renovation. Some rooms are bit claustrophobic.
- Trevor (9/5): Superb - A fantastic unique old classic dame of a property. Elegant, charming and really oozing that Out of Africa charm Arriving at night was a disaster. No signage from the main road.....the night guard's directions to the properties gates were wrong...and no signage 30m from the entrance gate. This would have saved us an hour of driving around looking for the property entrance. Easily solved by leaving maps at the main Milwane entrance.Fix co ordinates on Waze..they are wrong.
