Guest Reviews
- Jessica (8/5): Decent enough value for money - Great location, spacious room and bathroom, had the facilities we required. Decent for the price. The toilet seat kept falling off and the bathroom in general could go with some TLC.
The staffing situation seemed odd, receptionist didn’t greet us straight away when we checked in, and then around the clock there didn’t really seem to be any staff around!
- Tez (8/5): -
- Bond (5/5): Adequate but nothing special - The accommodation was adequate and the facilities were all operational. General feeling of run down - ness. Generally everywhere needed a deeper clean and shine. More staff needed to make the stay more welcoming.
- cAROL (7/5): It was fine because we didn’t have valuables that needed to be left in the room - Good location and parking Our room had no key - we had to leave it unlocked when we went out! Sink and window ledges were dirty.
- Brenda (8/5): - Very clean, bed was very comfortable. Good private car park. Very helpful staff. Wasing and showering privacy: An extra curtain would have been good between sink and bed area.
Only one chair.
- Katie (8/5): Quiet, comfortable, clean - We arrived later than expected and had to leave early in the morning. The check-in and out was easy. Exiting the building early morning was easy too. A really good hotel, clean, helpful staff, comfy beds, lovely shower room area. It took a while to find the car park, but once we found it there was adequate car parking.
- Paul (9/5): 3rd time stayed clean and comfy - Didn’t have breakfast All good
- Penny (5/5): -
- Darren (7/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): Good value and superb food - Easy to find, good location and parking on site . Lovely staff. Superb evening meal
- Alan (8/5): A good priced hotel in a good location - Convenient location for our visit to family in Toton.
Good value for money and clean N/A
- Clare (10/5): There was Always someone to help - Everything we needed and nice rooms Nothing
- Tylar (10/5): -
- Carly (8/5): - Extremely clean. Very friendly staff. Great value for money. Room size was very good. Food was exceptionally delicious
- Kevin (9/5): Very good and enjoyable, staff and facilities made it value for money. - Did not have breakfast but used the dining facilities the evening of my stay. Food was of a good quality and the service of staff was professional, polite and friendly.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Busy road with traffic noise.
- Natasha (8/5): Nice short notice hotel and budget friendly - Good for a night's stay as a last minute request through work. No complaints.
- Watson (9/5): -
- Tony (8/5): We'll be back !! - Lovely Indian, Nepalese restaurant.
Bedrooms were very modern and clean and large It was very quiet, couldn't find anyone at check-in or check-out...
But when they appeared, everything was perfect.
- Ian (6/5): OK stay - convenient location for our purposes - Comfortable bed and it was quiet In need of refurbishment
- Wai (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): - Very friendly helpful staff, everything needed for a comfortable stay. Rooms could do with a luck of paint.
- Julian (4/5): It was disappointing - Breakfast - I asked, three times, for a breakfast pack in the room but it was not provided Apart from above, no staff present or contactable when I left
- Marie (7/5): Try harder - The location was key the room was dark that wasnt to bad bed big bed big but uncomftable to hot in room orered and paid for breakfast but they dont do ittook ages to get money back and toilet made a noise all night that kept waking me up there was mold in bathroom and cobwebs about
- Lorraine (5/5): -
- Paul (8/5): -
- Lucy (7/5): - Free parking very helpful in this busy location Room was messy, debris from previous guests on the couch back and around the back of the headboards
- Marquez (6/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Great base to visit Nottingham, Derby and surrounding area. - Clean, quiet, good value
- Ben (10/5): -
- sonja31 (8/5): Ideally placed - Staff were brilliant. We had a problem with the heating in our room and they went above and beyond to fix it in no time. Everything is a little dated and in need of a little TLC.
- Claire (8/5): FAB time at the indian restaurant, excellent food just need the breakfast to equal it - was easy to get to from motorway. Staff were friendly and attentive. The Indian restaurant was excellent. very very good quality food and quite modern. Was fantastic value too. It wasnt very busy which was surprising as it was great. The bedrooms were decent and, to be fair, were good value for the price we paid. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfast wasnt very good. Considering the evening meal was fantastic, the cooked full English was not upto the same standard, unfortunaty. The bathroom was clean but the shower curtain could have been a bit longer to prevent water splashing onto the floor.
- Conduit (6/5): - Price Facilities are 'tired'
- Anna Rita (8/5): - comodo essenziale economico staff gentile
- steven (7/5): Cheap and cheerful. - Cheerful and helpful staff. Restaurant attached. Good size room. Clean. TV had no remote working remote. Bit short on plug sockets. Didn't realise you couldn't get a breakfast.cheap and cheerful.
- Tara (10/5): - Clean and comfortable beds good price Nothing major, indoors could do with little touching up of paint, and small issues but all cosmetic nothing major. Only thing that was strange rather than good or bad, was there is a window in the bathroom that is on the outside where the bedroom is. So in short, if your friends sharing a room I wouldn't advise it as one person will be lieing in the bed and they can see the other person sitting in the toilet! Haha am sure they were meant to put privacy screen on the window but maybe forgotton.
- Donna (6/5): - Beds were comfortable and clean. It couldve been slightly cleaner and areas were tired and worn, however it was still comfortable and for the price it served its purpose.
- Jean (7/5): Very pleased - Friendly staff. Sometimes noisy
- Benjamin (9/5): - Very friendly Staff, Bed was extremely comfy. The Decor, a little dated was oozing decadence from a lavish era, had quite the charm, providing excellent value for money.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Diane (8/5): Twixmas stay - Position of hptel suuted our needs. Price was vry good. Separate shower and toilet
- Dimitrios (7/5): Simple but good - Everything you need for a short stay is provided
Simple, no-frills setup that’s easy and practical
Facilities were functional and worked as expected
Suitable if you just need a comfortable place to sleep Facilities felt dated and could use updating
No bells and whistles
Not ideal if you’re looking for modern features or a more upscale experience (we weren't)
- Vicki (5/5): -
- Belen Inmaculada (10/5): Very kind staff. Highly recommend hotel. - Location N/A
- Simon (4/5): -
- roger (8/5): Over night stay - Excellent food and pleasant helpful staff Bedroom flooring. Beds getting tired.
- Flavio (8/5): great value - felt like i was in premier inn, room was amazing and spacious seems there is a curfew which we werent told so arrving back late at night after a night out apparently was problematic
- Matthew (10/5): Fantastic hotel and warm people!!! - The staff were very nice and friendly and accommodating and I fealt very welcomed in there hotel. Also the Hotel in general was really good for example with the nice rooms and things and I also really enjoyed the Nepalese and Indian food they do its very tasty and lovely. Thank you so much for accommodating me and the food and drink it was really much appreciated, kind regards. I know my room was nice and clean and I really liked my room thank you. Only two things I fealt the floor was a trip hazard even when it was dry I slidded on that type of wooden floor when I walked in a few especially with wearing socks on. The other thing was you couldn't control heating setting for the radiators in the room, other than those two things very good thank you.

- Skibum346 (3/5): Disappointing, basic customer service items were missed. - Location was convenient, there was parking. On arrival the person manning reception seemed hesitant and a bit distant, not the warm friendly welcome expected.
I arrived around 1530hrs and the sofas in reception were piled with what looked like all the clean linen for the hotel. When I left around 0730hrs the next morning (reception unmanned and in total darkness), they were still there. Not a good look.
I considered eating in the restaurant as I do love a Ghurka curry. However, the menu on the top of the pile in reception (not a take-away menu) had prices overwritten in dodgy black marker pen. Taken with the apparent lack of interest in moving the linen, this told me that someone in management doesn’t are or is not skilled in customer service.
When I returned later, I went to the bar for a drink. But the bar was a cold uninspiring spot right next to the kitchen doors. No one was serving, there was limited and inappropriate seating. Very poor design and layout.
The room (Room 6) initially impressed me, particularly the shower, though it seemed to have take ages for hot water to come through.
However, the lighting was poor, the choices were too bright or too dark. The bedside lights were out of reach when in bed. The quarter round trim around the tiles by the shower have nails sticking up, one of which very nearly stabbed me. The towel rail is entirely pointless as it is unheated. The toilet is unheated, the toilet seat is fitted at an angle and the toilet paper holder id broken, causing the roll to fall off in use.
I acknowledge that the price point for my stay was competitive but all of the things mentioned are hospitality 101 items. Who is doing checks on maintenance items? Who is ensuring housekeeping are managing deliveries? Who is driving customer service?
- Heather (8/5): Friendly hosts and delicious Indian food in a central location at budget. - The hotel is handy for Nottingham, Derby, East Midlands airport and the M1.
The restaurant serves really good Indian cuisine with some Nepali specialties. There is a good choice for vegetarians.
We asked for an Indian breakfast which was delicious.
The hotel has recently changed management and the new managers were excellent hosts and they both went the extra mile to make us welcome and to make our stay comfortable.
The hotel is just across the street from a canal path which is a secret nature corridor through to Trent Lock. There are lots of vegetarian options on the menu- a vegetarian ‘chefs Special’ would be a nice addition.
Be careful to register your car for car parking as the car park is managed by a private company.

- Lisa (8/5): Great stay, convenient to where we needed to be. Polite and helpful staff. Would stay again if we needed too. - Clean, easy great value for our one night stay Needs a mirror in the bedroom, as the only one was in the bathroom, which was in use whilst u was getting changed.
- Andrew (2/5): Awful - No breakfast. The bed, the staff, the cleaner....
It says good breakfast on booking .com but they don't do breakfast. Probably would of been curry anyway.
Awful place. Awful staff. Very rude. I mistakenly left with a key to the room on check out. I'd been downstairs three times but no one was there and no were to leave the key. In the chaos of waiting about and me now running late I thought I'd left the key on the bed but it was in my pocket when I got back to Chesterfield so I rang them. The woman was so rude to me and demanded I bring it back immediately and put the phone down, I rang back again and she did it again. Three times in total she put the phone down on me all whilst I'm trying to explain that I've just got off the train in chesterfield so it was impossible to get back to long Eaton,Nottingham
My bed was broken. It has been smashed to bits underneath of it and roughly put back together with nails sticking up and out of it. I cut my finger on one when I went to tuck the sheet in.
The place stinks like a corner shop aswell, like curry, smelly farts and bad breath. Absolutely awful
- Sebata (9/5): - The room is spacious, clean and noise levels around the area are minimal
- Karen (1/5): Terrible and had to check our after one night - The location was central to the centre It was extremely noisy and the staff did nothing to address
- Jeremy (10/5): - Staff very helpful
- Leonie (9/5): Great! - Perfect location as we were attending a wedding at Limas restaurant. The family room was a great size for us and our 2 children. We had no toilet roll and as the doors shut at 11:00 we had to call ahead to get access to the building. Not a problem though as we were met as we came up to the doors .
- Jeremy (10/5): - Staff very helpful
- Manson (6/5): Started off not good, but made good. - Staff we're very good and approachable. Enjoyed a meal with friends in the restaurant. No remote for the TV, no hairdryer in the room and no spoons with tea making facilities. But I will say as soon as this was made aware to staff we got all straight away.
Bathroom was not to my clean standard 5 out of 10.
- Mark (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, very good Rooms abit dated and rough around the edges but OK for what we needed for the night
- Alexis (5/5): reasonable priced for what it is - Spacious room and bathroom, good parking Dated, badly maintained, worn out, uncomfortable pillows.
- dirican (10/5): -
- Johnson (8/5): - Staff very helpful room was nice That I wasn't told it was closed on Monday
- Lester (10/5): -
- DELWYN (10/5): Golden Wedding Anniversary - Staff were very helpful location good very quite area Staires
- Deighton (10/5): Would stay again - Location and cleanliness Excellent place to stay
- Hall (4/5): - Room was clean and comfortable Difficult to get back in after they lock the doors at 11pm. You have to phone to be let back in but they don't always answer the phone. I was lucky and only had to wait a few minutes, but another guest was outside and had already been waiting half an hour. Other online reviews reflect this.
On check in I booked breakfast for 9am. When I came down at 9am the place was completely deserted, restaurant lights off and no sign of life. Rang the bell on reception multiple times but nobody came. Gave up and had breakfast elsewhere.
- Alex (10/5): -
- Jason (7/5): -
- Paul (9/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): A basic place to stay but as only £70 was ok for one night - Lovely friendly welcome , staff so lovely
even though they were very busy No tv remote , no hair drier
- Guest (7/5): Ideal for what we needed with great food - The food in the restaurant is fantastic and the location for us was ideal Hotel is a bit tired so needs renovation things like cracked tiles and drill holes in the walls and needing basic updating and a maybe a roof putting on the covered outside area
- Mandeep (6/5): -
- Diane (7/5): -
- Megan Jayne (10/5): -
- Robinson (9/5): -
- Danielle (9/5): Excellent value for money we will book again when we are in the area - Excellent price, the engineer that stayed was very pleased with the accommodation and the gin!
- Sammy (8/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Steve (2/5): Dog eared, dreary and dark. - Look like no one there lights off on arrival and leaving! Central location.
- Jennifer (8/5): Overall good just a little gripe - Location, perfect for visiting family in the area There were 2 mirrors in the bathroom and none in the bedroom to use the hairdryer but no plugs in the bathroom (which i underatand for safety).
Worth rethinking as this is a big deal when trying to get ready/do hair/makeup
- Carl (3/5): Disappointed - Location Poor beds
Carpets dirty
Wallpaper ripped
General up keep of property is poor, not value for money expected better for the price
- Muhammad_Akhlaq (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Davies (10/5): - The room was spacious and cosy but the shower was divine
- Nirav (2/5): Bad service and no heating! - Good location. Booked a family room which was advertised as 1 double bed and 2 single beds but they gave me 1 double and just 1 single bed with no real explanation. As there was 1 less bed I asked for an extra blanket but they said they don’t have it.
The room heating stopped in the morning when it was really cold and there was no thermostat in the room to regulate the temperature.
There was no hairdryer in the room so I had to request one from the reception.
- Morgan (6/5): Fine for the stay I was on. - Location for my trip, good sized room, quiet. Cold and drafty at times. Shower curtain needs replaced.
- Kevin (9/5): Did not have breakfast, it was room only. - N/A N/A
- Dr Keith (5/5): Convenient but marred by problems - Situation was ideal for us visiting friends. Dinner was good and waiter was very friendly The receptionist when we arrived seemed to spend all her time on her mobile phone. We were in Room 8. There was no soap in the dispenser over the bathroom basin. There was no WiFi in the room - although the WiFi worked well in the entrance hall and first floor, we were unable to connect to it in our room. The radiator in our room did not work. All three issues were reported to the receptionist but no action was taken in our two days there.
- kirsty (10/5): Enjoyed the stay - The food in the restaurant was really good, staff friendly and helpful. None
- Martin (9/5): Good value, clean and well appointed. Friendly reception - Pleasant and modern lounge and reception. Spacious clean room. Excellent shower. Indian restaurant on ground floor looks promising, will try it out next time there Got to go round a small one way system to get to car park, not that onerous
- PatsyBell (8/5): Very comfortable and convenient - Lovely comfortable bed in spacious room and very quiet All good
- Gavin (7/5): - Location They don't tell you, you have to register your car details for the car park, there are no signs telling you to register your car. I got a ticket for £100 for not registering my car
- Mari Clare (8/5): - Good sized family room. Had difficulty logging onto wifi
- Chloe (8/5): Very welcoming, lovely food - Very helpful staff and parking round back. Lovely food. N/a
- Annette (10/5): Great stay the food was delicious and the staff where very attentive and helpful - Stayed in a beautiful large room. . Clean and welcoming
- Colin (5/5): Adequate for my needs. - Close to the venue I was attending. Clean and comfortable. Basic hotel I need of a little redecoration. All looks a bit dated and tired. Shower took an age to get hot. Was a basic stay over for one night and was ok for that. Took an age for someone to come and check me in - it also has a restaurant and that seemed to take priority. Was not asked if I wanted breakfast but it is available. Unlike a chain hotel you can’t really come and go as you please but that was not really a concern to me. Small car park but is cctv protected.
- Duncan (9/5): -
- Bridget (8/5): -
- Chris (9/5): Good value for money, clean convenient accommodation - Good size room. Clean, bright. and airy .
Easy, free parking A smile on arrival would have been a little more welcoming
