- Happiness16733022795 (4/5): Disappointed - TRIPVISOR REVIEW:
So very unhappy that the water slide wasn’t open for our 3 grandsons mid week. It was the reason I booked this place. The desk informed me it was in the hotel details. IT SHOULD HAVE-BEEN IN BIGGER PRINT!! We weren’t the only ones taken by surprise!
I had called to reserve a week ahead and mentioned we were seniors (bad knees). One hour prior to arrival we were changed to 2nd floor (NO ELEVATOR) because someone screwed up our reservation.
Fresh cookies didn’t make these issues taste better for a $200 room.
- Wesley (6/5): - We were in town and many family members stayed at this location. The front desk guy the night of check in was great. He let us use the breakfast are for our family to gather. The reason for my lower over all score was I believe a friend of someone’s working there was using the pool. I went in to check on my terns and the guy was in the pool areas vaping.
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - Everything but the bed. The bed was too hard. Couldn't sleep and woke up with a backache. Both of us. It's like there was no mattress on the bed .
- Jessica (10/5): - Dakota at the front desk was amazing, very professional, polite, and helpful.
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Carol Boyer (10/5): - The king-sized bed was extraordinarily comfortable, the sheets looked and felt regal, and the coverlet was lovely and just the right weight for the end of May in central Minnesota! I slept really well for three nights in a row.
- Rebecca (10/5): Nice place. - We had a very nice stay. We had a larger room with a sitting area that was nice for our family.
- Rasmussen (6/5): It was ok - Nice location Too expensive in the key cards that we had didn’t work much to get into the room
- Callie (10/5): - Amazing stay
- David (8/5): - The beds were too hard.
- Monica (10/5): - Very friendly desk attendant.
- Maria (10/5): Recommend if you stay in willmar area - Clean Nice place for family weekend
- Clinton (8/5): - We chose this hotel for the water slide and basketball hoop we saw in the pictures, but the water slide is only open Friday and Saturday and there was no hoop. Not to happy aboy that.
- Laurel (10/5): - Staff at front desk was very friendly and efficient with checking us in!
- josh (10/5): - Everything was great
- Jennifer (10/5): - I have been traveling for work abd and staying at this hotel for the past few months. Its very convenient to pretty much everything in Willmar. Its very quiet and comfortable.
Dakota has the best customer service! He is very patient and accommodating. Hes always greeting and making you feel welcome! You dont find help like him these days. Thank you fir tge great service Dakota!
- Karen (5/5): it was okay but not what i expected from Country Inn & Suites - It was okay, location was okay When i walked into the room and went into the bathroom, the seat and cover were up. It gave me a feeling that it was not cleaned and i felt like some guy had just used the toilet.
- Kevin (10/5): Nice place to stay. - We had a nice stay. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
- Jane (8/5): Loved the pool!! - Person at front desk was outside smoking each time I passed the desk. We were told that breakfast would be eggs and a side of meat. It was biscuits and gravy......YUCK. Thank goodness for the waffles! Beds were comfortable though!! Pool was great....heated water and with a slide!!!
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional - It was very comfortable and the staff were friendly. Can't think of anything.
- Wayne (8/5): - It was great we wanted to stay with friends for the waterslide but it was down since someone got sick in pool overall was a nice hotel wish they would have given us a discount since I told them we were there for the waterslide.
- Cassandra (10/5): - Easy check-in and check out process. Great staff! Clean property inside and out and a fun pool area..Thanks for a nice stay!
- Roland (10/5): - The staff was friendly. The hotel was quiet. We enjoyed our stay.
- Douglas (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (10/5): - A great one night stay with m'lady!
Perfect spot to lay your head down for the night, and we definitely had a blast shooting some basketball hoops in the pool.
- Byron (8/5): - Breakfast was subpar. Get rid of biscuits and gravy. French toast sticks were terrible and sweet rolls were tough and dry.
- Joseph (8/5): - Nice property very service-oriented staff made the stay enjoyable
- Chester (10/5): - The workers were friendly, helpful, and polite. Clean rooms and good breakfasts.
- Barry (8/5): A comfortable and safe stay at a small town establishment. - We were very satisfied with the accommodations at this location, and were very comfortable with most of the facilities. This site is close to restaurants and shopping, some within walking distance. The ambiance is like a country home in the lobby and the staff was very helpful with all our needs. Three items were disappointing though, no elevator to get to the second floor, the breakfast was a little limited, and the A/C unit did not work effectively. All of these items were not significant to our stay, I am including them for the site to work on to make improvements.
- Lane (9/5): Great value, staff is friendly and helpful & yummy breakfast! - Location, quiet and quaint from traffic. The pool water seemed a bit dirty, hot tube seemed cleaner.
- dunc_webb (10/5): Country Inn & Radical Suites - Honestly, this was a nice surprise. We decided to stay here instead of a place right across the street, and we had an amazing time. Not only was breakfast amazing, but we had way too much fun at the pool area with the slide and basketball hoop. Definitely check this place out
- Martin (8/5): Very comfortable, spacious, and reasonably priced - Most general, food was fresh, excellent choices. Plenty of fruit, juices, selection was good. No complaints , but front desk was empty some times
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- JESSICA (10/5): - Great place to stay. I had a migraine and had to buy Tylenol and young man at desk was very nice and offered some advice on what helps him. Will stay again.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Bob (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - From checking in to the check out everyone was very welcoming.
- Celeste (10/5): - Great
- Roberto (10/5): - Felt very welcome and the stay felt like home. Front desk -Dakota was amazing, helpful and very knowledgeable.
- Dana (8/5): - Close to everything
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maryjane (10/5): Exceptional - Clean Nothing
- Deanna (10/5): Great place to stay while attending our events - Lovely pool and hot tub. The slide was fun. It's always nice to get a breakfast (food was good). The location was perfect for our events. Parking laid out nicely in location to the doors. Will stay there again. There isn't anything that comes to mind on what I didn't like.
You should know there is no elevator. They let you know that a head of time though.
For me this was ok.
- Diaz (8/5): Very good -
- Quinten (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olson (2/5): Disappointed - The location was nice and quiet. The pool was comfortable as well. The rooms had a locker room smell when we first arrived. We needed to open windows to clear it out. The refrigerators in the rooms did not work. They ran out of breakfast foods on a Saturday morning by 830 am. The waterslide was down as well. We have stayed at this location numerous times and this was the worst stay we had.
- Johannes (6/5): - Overall property was nice and clean, no complains. My issue was with the heating system in the room. Provided I had a room with 2 outside walls and we had a snowstorm outside, temperatures outside at around 22F over night. Room heating was unable to get to 70F and blower was essentially running constantly, not great when you are trying to sleep.
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was great and so was all the staff. Booking through booking.com. They wouldn't allow me to reserve 4 rooms with 2 double beds in each which is what we needed for our family. I spent about 2 hrs. on your website trying to book it that way and ended up reserving each room individually which, needless to say cost a lot more money. I don't know if I will ever use your services again. Our oldest son said you were the best way to book. I did not have that experience.
- Barbara (8/5): Nice hotel - It was a very nice, clean hotel. The staff was very friendly. Had a good breakfast. Many things to choose from. I took a star off because on the website it didn’t say anything about the water slide being closed during the week and only being open on Friday evening and Saturday. I picked this hotel for my granddaughters and I for that reason. They were very disappointed to learn when we got there that they wouldn’t be able to go on the slide.
- Barbara (10/5): - Staff was friendly and accommodating. Loved the cookies, breakfast and environment. Thank you
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trebtoske (4/5): We were disappointed about the amount of money we spent for a basic room with a non-existent front desk person. - The waterslide The front desk person was rarely at the desk. Had to call to get someone to come to the desk. The only vending options were for soda and water, no snacks available. The only vending machine didn’t work with cash, coins or cards and they were full. I felt like I was overcharged for the size of room we got. 2 queens and a sofa for $300 is ridiculous, since we were on top of each other. We rarely do anything like getting a hotel for the night, I’ll never pay that much for basic room ever again. We were disappointed.
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional - The room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Do not have anything to say here. It was all good.
- Laraya (7/5): Good - Great size room. Bathroom very functional. The pool was dirty I could feel stuff on my skin and my feet while walking around. No elevator
- Laura (10/5): Exceeded our expectations - highly recommend! - Our 2 Queen Bed suite was huge, like the size of an apartment. It was nicely decorated, clean, and spacious. We were very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and well-appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Comfort Inn and Suites in Willmar! The pool was overrun with kids and the hot tub filled with their parents. Nothing they could have done about that, but I was looking forward to a swim and hot tub but it was just too crowded and noisy.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional - This is our go to hotel when in Willmar. Staff is always friendly and it's a comfortable stay. Not that we dont like it but it could use some updating.
- Edwin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerald (10/5): - There is not a lot of parking
- Cheryl (10/5): - Clean and quiet. I’ll be back
- susan (8/5): Comfortable stay - Good location for my work in the area. Quiet and clean. Breakfast is typical hotel fare. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Exercise room has the basic treadmill and elliptical but no free weights.
- Gordon (10/5): Great time in Willmar - Great stay and great location - close to everything in Willmar. Loved the pool area and the slide was a hit. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was adequate.
- Jeff (10/5): Nice place - All great
- Adam (6/5): - It was okay. The waterslide was part of why I paid the extra money for this hotel over others, but I was very disappointed to learn its open hours were limited. It did not open on time and the towel rack was barren. The bathroom in the room had a dried booger on the door frame and brown streak on the faucet handle that wiped off with a wet rag. One bed's top sheet had numerous paint splotches on it, seemingly having been used as a drop cloth at some point. The batteries in the television remote were dead. I will not likely stay at this hotel again when back in town and would not recommend it to someone else.
- Mark (10/5): Overall excellent - Excellent staff. We did find the previous guests clothing in a drawer. 😟
- Guadalupe (6/5): - It was great for the most part and fairly quiet. Only real problem was bugs… Killer at least 7 small red bugs in the room that looked like fleas. Otherwise the score would have been 5s across the board.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Nice hotel. Clean and quiet. Beds are comfortable.
- Denise (10/5): We’re impressed! - First time staying in Willmar. Didn’t know what to expect. Very impressed with our choice of lodging. Check-in staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was super - very clean, nice decor and comfortable. There was some unpleasant smell from another room’s cooking that passed quickly and didn’t reoccur. Bathroom spotless. Breakfast lots of good choices and the coffee was great. Much better than most places we have visited. Thanks for making our visit a pleasant one.
- Audie (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The staff was efficient, kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - The public areas were very cold. Had to wear a jacket. It was in the 90's. Had to go outside to warm up. One bed had sheets that were not clean. Crusty patch and black hair.
