Guest Reviews
- Judy (5/5): The toilet was disgusting. The seat had dried pee or barf on at least half the seat ☹️ - It was ok Nothing
- Jeri (2/5): Never again. - Staff was friendly The room appeared clean at first glance. The tv would not come on. So the staff came quickly to help. The tv was analog and focus was grainy. I could have dealt with that if that was the only issue. When he moved a piece of furniture, roaches came out and he tried to kill them with his shoe. Unfortunately this was not all of them.
The mattress was not a mattress. It was a box spring. Not comfortable.
- John (1/5): Worst ever! - Conveniently located. Power went out at 10:30pm and no one was around in the office and phones didn’t work. Had to book another room down the road.
- Rebecca (7/5): - The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Good value The towels could use a replacement and upgrade.
- Farber (9/5): - Very clean room. Spacious. Quiet. Cheap cheap cheap towels, sheets, etc.
- Samantha (10/5): - Staff is nice. Great place to stay
- Bobby (8/5): Easy access. Friendly helpful staff - Bed were a little hard .
- Kacey (6/5): - Shower curtain had mold, bedsheets and bed frame and covers was stained or sticky in areas, lots of hairs everywhere in the bathtub
- Isaac (2/5): - This was our second stay at this property in the last few months. It was good enough the first time that we were comfortable booking again. Huge mistake. When i say the room was filthy, i am not exaggerating. To the manager's credit, he did move us to another room but that room, although not filthy, was still not clean. It was clear that the bedding was not clean and the towels were dirty. Unless you have no other option, i suggest booking elsewhere. I know we willbe doing so.
- Erik (4/5): Could’ve been a lot worse - Could’ve been a lot better roaches were seen multiple times in multiple location hair everywhere in the bathroom and also on the comforter
- Joshua (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Met expectations for a one night stay with exception of limited toiletries and lighting in the room.
- Colt (9/5): Superb -
- Milton (7/5): Decent stay for the money. - No breakfast. Only had one set of towels. My wife and I shared.
- Carole (3/5): WE HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL MANY TIMES BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME FOR US. YOUNG TEENAGER AT THE DESK - NO BREAKFAST IS SERVED THE ROOM SMELLED WHEN WE ARRIVED WITH AIR FRESHNER STUCK IN THE AIR CONDITIONIONG. NO TOWELS AND WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO GET THEM, THE ONES HE BROUGHT BACK WERE DINGY GRAY. JUST AWFUL!
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Clean modest room, a good value for your dollar.
- Royce (4/5): - It’s obvious they aren’t in the business of having a decently maintained business. Half the lights in my room didn’t work, the AC sounded like it was going to fall out of the wall, and the paint was cracking, peeling, or non existent.
- Kubicek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (2/5): - Would not recomend this place for anyone.
- Green (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (5/5): Passable -
- Pamela (6/5): - Black hair all over tub and sink
- Fabian (10/5): - Good price!
- Ken (2/5): I asked for a refund and was referred to Booking.com - Owner very understanding and helpful The first room had a very, very strong Indian aromas smell. The second room they show me had an equally bad disinfectant/cleaning solution smell.
- Andrew (6/5): - The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner quiet. The lack of kleenex, coffee pot, clock, and more than one set of towels, not so good. An adequate facility for a night's sleep.
- Billy R (6/5): - The water was turned off to the stool. dirty wash cloth hanging from shower head. there is no chair that you would want to sit in any length of time.
- Angela (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (2/5): - Our room has stained sheets, dirt and grime. Don’t let the high ratings fool you.
- Joshua (10/5): Great affordable clean stay - Great affordable clean stay
- Stephanie (4/5): Nice enough place, owners just lazy with cleaning and upkeep. - It was cheap and conveniently located. Was not very clean at all, dead bugs on the floor, the car freshner stuck in the vent was very strong, the bedding had a bad smell, and we had to switch rooms to find a clean one.
- Aaron (7/5): Good - That no one bothered us or was in a room right next to 0urs That the bed was noisy
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good but could be better - Saw 2 roaches during the last night we were there. Had hairs in the drains. But it wasn't terrible.
- Dennis (10/5): - Excellent place for the price. Nice and quiet.
- Daniel (10/5): A good stay and I highly recommend visitors to give it a try. - The location is at the heart of the town and well accessible to basic amenities. No tea or Lipton bags in the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bittersweet stay - Front desk check in was excellent she was very nice and helpful. As to the room is was very dirty hairs all over the sink only 2 small towels used wash cloth still in shower rub floor was filthy. But beds where comfortable
- Mary (6/5): - The bed was clean and comfortable but other areas were not as clean. There was a pile of icy snow in front of our room by the edge of the walkway that we had to walk over or around to get to our car. It was nearly a week since that heavy snowfall and it was a risky lability not to clean that pile away. That really left a bad impression on us.
- Daniel (10/5): It is spacious, comfortable and close to walmart. - The space of the room and the compact dinning table the suits the room. There is no coffee maker.
- Terry (2/5): - I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! The whole parking lot was glare ice and very hard snow patches. I almost slipped and fell multiple times. My por dog froze his paws and no where to do his duties. Phone didn’t work and they did nothing to fix it. The bathroom was gross and bed linens not very clean. If we hadn’t been so tired after driving 12 plus hours we would have left.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - The cleanliness of the room. Bathroom soap was unavailable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Courteous staff, quiet and clean motel - We really enjoyed our stay here, the bed was so comfortable and property was super quiet. It’s a classic motel but it’s clear the owners take pride in the property and its upkeep, new paint, floors and styles to modernize. The room felt very big even with the king sized bed.
The price was right and we really enjoyed the location and property for a good nights rest between stops. Would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - I reserved 2 rooms for my husband and daughter because it has a high cleanliness rating. My daughter ended up sleeping on some piece of furniture in the room instead of the bed because there was hair in the sheets. My husband said the bathroom floor in his room had a leak from the bathtub. He thought it would be OK because he had stayed there previously. They said the staff was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): ✔️ - They were attentive to any needs I had.
- Eric (8/5): - This is a basic, no-frills motel at a pretty good price. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- Jamie (2/5): Yuck - Floor was dirty had to wear socks. Bed & pillows were covered in dog hair. It was a pet room but clearly not cleaned well after previous guest.
- Taylor (8/5): Very good -
- Abby (7/5): Good -
- Kyle (7/5): Overall decent stay. Great location for my purposes but left a little bit to be desired on cleanlisness and overall func - Good location Pricey for the amenities and the television wasn’t connected to the cable box.
- Michael (10/5): Great - Very clean, very pleasant.
- Terry (3/5): Bathroom was dirty. Linen and towels were stained and gross - Nothing Everything
- Raasch (1/5): dirty - extremely dirty, clogged sink, half a dozen flys in the room, hair in the sheets
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good - Location was good. There was no breakfast offered. More towels.
- Diane (8/5): Late night clean rooms comfortable stay - Clean nice hot water
- Mark (10/5): Good place; would book again! - Good room if you need to crash somewhere in El Dorado for the night. No frills or bells and whistles but just a nice, clean place to stay. Just what I needed. I would definitely book again!
- Kathidw (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Bed was comfy. Air conditioner worked great, loved the added bonus of a ceiling fan. Had a mini fridge and microwave. Had to plug in fridge but once it cooled it worked fine. The bathroom is in need of a redo. The tub, although big, was in rough shape. It also needs something on the bottom for slipperiness, be careful!
- Mehul (10/5): Exceptional - Accessibility and location along with the prices Everything was great considering the price
- Jwwroc (5/5): Passable -
- Larry (4/5): Disappointing -
- Austin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jackie (2/5): - Would not recommend. Sheets were dirty, used towel on bathroom door, used soap & shampoo in shower, hair ball on bathroom floor and long black hair strands on bed. Also had soap residue on the sink and the ac unit was too noisy to permit a good sleep. I was given clean sheets to remake the bed but I really should have demanded a refund and left, but after 9 hours of driving, I was too tired. But the guy was courteous at check in.
- Michelle (4/5): - The room had dog hair all over the floor. A dirty hand towel was hanging on the shower pole. And only had 2 towels for guests. There was also a used shampoo that was opened and half gone. All night I felt like someone was gonna try and open the door. The lock wasn’t very reliable on the door. We didn’t feel like the door was very stable.
- Randall (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (2/5): Nowhere close to being a positive experience. - Good parking for a trailer. Cockroaches were in the room and the beds. Floor of the room had not been cleaned in what looked like weeks. So much hair was left in the shower from the last occupants that it plugged up the drain. When I was showering a staff member tried to let themselves into the room with their passkey. Only the slot lock kept them out. They continued to try to force their way into the room. This went on long enough for me to get out of the shower and confront them. Overall the experience was terrible. No one should stay at this facility.
- Lloyd (4/5): - During heavy rain storm, water blew in the door and onto the floor. Deadbolt lock almost unlockable. No coffee pot in the room. All three Pillows were flat and bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom countertop and sink were both nice and updated.
- Barbara (6/5): The bed was comfortable and room temperature could be adjusted to my preference. - Convenient location Horrid!! Nothing but dried cereal which I had to ask to be refilled.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Bare-bones decor and facilities. The room was impeccably clean. A great value.
- Darla (8/5): - Not what I expected for the price.
- Carol (5/5): It served its purpose at a reasonable price. - Roomy, bed was comfortable. TV was fine. The bathroom was cramped and fixtures are very old.
- Kimberly (9/5): Superb - The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. A friend and I were visiting to run in the El Dorado half marathon. The manager was great - he made pre-race coffee for us and let us check out a bit late. We so appreciated his efforts!
- Johnson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wes (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff. Very clean rooms.
- Randolph (6/5): I will not be staying here again. - To start with, the deadbolt on the door didn't work and the door often would not latch. This left a very uncomfortable feeling. The bathroom mirror had some king of paint on the surface that had not been fully cleaned off. It was also very loud with road noise, but they couldn't help that. There were other things, but those were the most irksome
- Linn (6/5): Pleasant - would not use again. lines cheap wore out. rough. one towel for 2 people. sheets so thin they rolled up under you.
- Peggy (8/5): - Easy getting in and out and quiet.
- Adam (9/5): Superb - The price was great for what is provided. It was cheaper than the Holiday inn express, and Days Inn, but they include breakfast, so that all lines up as expected.
- Nicole (8/5): - A nice clean place to sleep. Bed was decent and shower was awesome.
- Katrina (5/5): Would not stay again mainly because of the $50 pet fee. - Convenience to vehicle Not knowing in advanced that the pet fee was almost as much as the price of the room. $50.00 pet fee
Two thin bath towels, one hand towel and two wash clothes. Bed was hard.
- Sheri (9/5): Great place to stay! - Great place to stay, staff was friendly and accommodating. The ice machine worked . Clean and comfortable room.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- 877chelseai (10/5): Perfect hotel to stay at - Hotel manager got us in early when we found ourselves in a bind because the hotel across the street had roaches and I was absolutely not staying there. This hotel was clean, cozy, and the staff was great. Couldn't have asked for better.
- Chelsea (10/5): Best hotel in town - Great place to stay, great price, great staff. I literally can not say enough good things about this hotel.
Over the weekend I had found myself in the most dreadful situation, at a nearby hotel, checking in after midnight after a long day of driving with 2 young kids and my husband, told them not to bring in bags because I like to check out rooms before we do that and of course there are roaches. We had brought in nothing but the clothes we were wearing so we braved it through a few hours for the kids to rest and immediately I searched for a new hotel as we needed to stay in El Dorado all weekend. I was personally mad enough I wanted to drive back home where I know it's clean.
Anyways I found this place and checked some reviews from real people, not fake accounts as I realized the other place had. Decided to give a call, explained my situation to the front desk and they got me in a room as early as 10:30 that morning! So after the nightmare of a night we got breakfast with our kids and headed there. The guy at the front desk was amazing and even offered to let us check out the room and if we weren't satisfied he'd refund us immediately. He also let us know the people staying in the next room worked nights so he obviously cares about the comfort of all of his guests. Our kid are usually good about being quiet but when they wanted to play on scooters we just had them play farther from the rooms, no big deal to us!
We come to El dorado frequently as my step kids live here and this one single stay has made me a guest for every time we come to town. ❤️ Being a private owned hotel it wasn't as advertised as mainstream hotels.
- Vicki (8/5): Good price and clean rooms. Parking right outside door can be nice. - Room was non-smoking but had smokey smell. Got Lysol and frebreese from front desk that helped.
- Dean (4/5): - You get what you pay for!
- Kathy (10/5): - big room very clean inside comfortable bed would stay there again
- William (8/5): - clean basic accommodations
- Vicki (9/5): Superb - There was no breakfast.
- Christee (7/5): Good - Easy check in, clean property Bathrooms need updated, could use a comfortable chair/recliner
- Gaylon (6/5): For a one night stay for a single guy was okay. Not sure why all guest seemed to be bunched up at one end of the motel. - It was clean. Decent location Had to tell clerk one of the main lights in the room was out. Couldn’t park in front of the door to the room. Had to park near a trash dumpster
- Ranslow (8/5): Worth the value -
- Davnewton (6/5): It was an easy stop and I didn't have to pay much. I am grateful. I felt that the rating Bkn.com too - N/A It was dingy and not special though the bed was comfortable enough and the AC worked.
- Jim (8/5): - Just fine for the price.
- Cecil (8/5): Very good -
- Geraldine (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was attentive and accommodating. The location and price were perfect. Rooms and grounds were clean. Had a refrigerator and microwave. Shower got hot and had good pressure. That the taco place next door was drive thru only. No reflection on the hotel. We walked 60 more feet and had Mexican at the next restaurant.
- Linda (9/5): Very nice, was all we needed! - Not available . There are several places close by to choose from. The toilet is very low so hard for older people to use. Maybe a bar would help or replace toilets?
- Wood (2/5): Very poor - Close to the interstate Smells
- Ellison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherry (8/5): Excellent - Nice clean room
- Linda (10/5): Great stay! Will be back there soon! - Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and was everything we needed. Appreciated fridge and microwave.
- Cary (9/5): Superb -
- C1746LEheathers (10/5): Clean! Quaint! Family operated! - While one would observe a basic hotel when looking at the pictures, do not underestimate this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint family owned hotel where it’s evident that the owners take pride in their business!
