Guest Reviews
- Nigel (10/5): Nice Hotel - Great hosts, Good quality service, great location, Hotel n need of a face lift would go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just perfect for our needs, very enjoyable. I wished I had booked an extra few day's! Lovely staff, spacious room, very comfortable bed, en-suite excellent, very clean and breakfast was most enjoyable. Great location, couldn't ask for more!
- Donna (10/5): - We had a room with sea view and it was fantastic
- Kiara (6/5): - The location and service is excellent!
However the hotel is tired and dated and is too expensive for what it is.
- Luke (10/5): Would stay again - Lovely hotel we were a family of 5 had a room with plenty of space and a sea view
Room was comfortable for us
Breakfast was great
Service awesome
Would stay again
- paul (4/5): size of room - they advertise the room as a standard single. everytime I turned over in bed I banged my arm on the wardrobe. the bathroom was down a flight of stairs and you had to take your room key with you. it was inconvenient having to use the toilet 3 or 4 times a night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Seafront Retreat - Lovely couple running the hotel. On the seafront within easy reach of the Old Harbour, the station and the bus termini.
- Shaun (8/5): - A lovely hotel ideally located. Super breakfast and courteous staff. The hotel was clean and pleasing. The door entry system is very good and you have a feeling of being safe and secure here. The hotel doesn't have a lift and parking isn't always easy to find but parking permits are available on a first come first served basis. Overall this hotel is very good and we would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
- Flossie (6/5): - Good location, very clean & hotel staff excellent & friendly. Room size was a bit cramped, decor a bit jaded. Excellent breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very welcoming , good information , breakfast great location amazing
- melanie (10/5): Excellent value fantastic service - Nothing to much trouble, will definitely be returning.
- Sally (4/5): Nice hotel, close to the beach. - Hotel Staff and Service was friendly and brilliant.
I have been taking my family probably 1-2 a year every year for 20 years. Never had a problem with not being able to eat inside the rooms in any hotel. The rule that no food can be eaten in the rooms, along with no breakfast/dining room available to eat in the hotel, was very inconvenient and painful to my mum who is elderly. All days, for breakfast and dinner, we were literally stuck in going out to expensive restaurants, rather than getting some basic stuff from the local Tesco and making your own sandwiches etc. We were strictly not allowed to eat in the rooms apparently because of the smell. But no effort was made to at least provide their breakfast room for maybe 20-30 minutes. It is not like we would not clean up after ourselves or bring back curries or strong smelling food. It was just basic things for sandwiches.
Also, it said on their website that the rooms come with cooked breakfast, but we were not served breakfast because apparently, this only happens from March 1st. So we could not even have our breakfast inside. We had to go walking outside. This is quite difficult with a family of 4 and an elderly lady.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent, spacious family room - Great family room, three single beds and a double, big bathroom with a bath. Amazing view of the beach! Breakfast was really good and staff friendly and helpful with the kids.
- Dani (8/5): Nice hotel close to the beach! - I shared a room with my husband and 5 year old for the weekend. The room was fairly compact, but had everything we needed. Everything was clean and ready for us - the shower, tv and kettle all worked fine. The breakfast was standard B&B fare, as expected, and the cooked breakfast was lovely. The staff were polite and accommodating, very pleased with the service. :)
- Verified traveler (6/5): its ok - i would stay here but as below, just my thoughts.
i know it was peak season 18.8.17, beach 50 yards, permit to park , "if you could get parked" & it's clean but no room to swing a cat so to speak & 2* at best. £85pn
everywhere was booked so took this, in the real world i would have said £65 tops
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was so good could not find anything not to like would definitely recommend for a lovely relaxing getaway
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice but out dated hotel. Needs some TLC - The hotel is a typical seaside hotel. Our room was on the second floor. It was clean and comfortable but a bit out dated. Two issues. Firstly the room was hot and stuffy so we openened the windows at night. This meant we were disturbed by various late night revellers and the cleaning trucks (we could have asked for a fan but thought that would also be noisy). Also we had four separate curtains but when you pulled them most came straight off the rails involving balancing on a chair to try to put them in place so we had the windows covered. Lovely breakfast with good service. Early checkout time - 10.30.
- Len (4/5): Dreadful and unsafe - This was a very disappointing stay, considering we booked a room with own bathroom, but on arrival was told its a seperate bathroom, and that we could upgrade , that also had a sea view for an extra £80.00, the room itself in the bay window cill and chair was covered in sand, the furnishings were dated and tatty, the carpet had a metal strip across the entrance inside the room, also the shower stopped functioning, fell to bits, then my wife cut her foot open on the protruding screw on the bathroom door.
the room was directly by a street lamp which shon into the room, and you could hear people in the room above using the bathroom all night, al in all terrible.
Therefore i shall be seeking a refund, as this is most definatly an unsatisfactory hotel.
- Marc (10/5): Perfect service and location - From the moment we booked this hotel we were offered first class service, which started when speaking in advance to Michael who allowed us complimentary parking using the hotel permit. The hotel was secure, very clean, with excellent staff at reception and breakfast. The location was on the esplanade, which offered excellent views and convenience to local amenities, shops, bars/restaurants, the harbour and attractions. I wouldn't hesitate staying here in the future, simply due to the service we received. Thank you to Michael and staff for making us feel welcome in your home.
- Bob (10/5): love little hotel, ideal for beach/shops - confusion on my part, I thought it included breakfast, but no.
Could have done with ground floor due to wife's chest condition, but they were not to know.
Otherwise excellent !
