Food in the pub was delicious.
The staff were polite and friendly. N/A

- Sandy (10/5): Fab place to stay. Tranquil outside, lots of laughter and life inside. - Location fabulous. Quiet road near church. Very peaceful. Breakfast excellent in lovely, old cosy room. Evening meals were of very high standard we liked everything

- Mr (10/5): Very Friendly and warm atmosphere - Staff very friendly and helpful provided pack up break fast as I was leaving earlier than start time, the food in restaurant was delicious along with the selection of fine ales A heads up about booking for dinner first night was extremity busy and just managed to get a table this was outside in covered area which was not a major problem as its warm would not be so sure when its a little cooler.

- James (5/5): Lovely food. Hospitality could be improved noticeably. Probably the worst night’s sleep in years. - The food in the pub in the evening was very good- the brisket with gravy exceptional as well as the sticky toffee pudding. The young staff serving in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The village and location of the pub facing the church was picturesque. The owners were not very friendly to us at arrival or when we went to dinner…we walked into the restaurant expecting to be welcomed and seated but instead were rudely pointed into a room full of beer kegs (we don’t drink) - we simply back tracked and asked the lovely waitress for our table and she seated us.
The bedroom was small but freshly decorated and clean. The mattress was very soft and uncomfortable and the foam pillows added to the discomfort. We went to sleep only to be woken every hour until dawn by the church bells (I’ve never encountered something so ridiculous in a quiet country village)
- Fuller (8/5): Beautiful and characterful with good facilities - Location, excellent breakfast, pub with real character.
- Nick (8/5): Very nice stay. - Character of the place. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. No blackout blind/curtain.
- Elaine (10/5): Idyllic village - Everything. Food was excellent, bedroom lovely Nil
- Simon (8/5): Great. Delivered on all that we needed. - Very comfortable. Great food. General ambience. Senior staff were a little less friendly than might have been expected. Slow to respond to communications. However it’s a well managed venue.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Delightful visit and good base for exploring East Suffolk - Main pub very quirky and interesting. Bedroom accommodation modern bright and very comfortable Flies in dining areas
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely room with exceptional dinner - Charming location. Room was well equipped. We had dinner at the pub and it was excellent
- Giselle (8/5): Fabulous stay - Lovely pub in a fabulous village. The room was large and comfortable with lots of nice touches. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly and really made our stay perfect. Excellent wifi too. The pub has a tap room and the beer was excellent. We dined in the restaurant both nights too and the food was good. As a coeliac I had lots to choose from on the menu, and it was lovely to have the gluten free choices listed rather than having to ask. Nothing.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Corrigan (10/5): Exceptional - Clean room and friendly and nice room with private toilet Everything
- Idona (5/5): Not great! - The property was very clean Very noisy when people came in and went out.
The lady who was at reception was extremely unfriendly, as a paying customer when I have checked into any b&b or hotels I expect common courtesy and a feeling of being welcomed. We considered looking for somewhere else with her sour expression and abruptness and left very early so we would not have to see her again.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Absolutely perfect, cannot fault it. - Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, one of the best.
Evening meal was again excellent.
Toiletries were a nice touch.
Location was excellent for exploring the area and especially for visiting family.
Enjoyed so much going back in 2 weeks. N/A
- Samantha (9/5): Superb - Beautiful setting, adequate parking, shop within walking distance, lovely dawn chorus and delicious breakfast. Nothing
- Jeffrey (8/5): Second time here and enjoyed it again - Great Location, nice food and beer. Very Busy place so book a table early if you want to eat
- Stephen (9/5): Simply excellent, a must for pub enthusiasts. - A wonderful old pub, one of only seven in the country with an original taproom and no bar counter. Good ales and great food, friendly welcoming staff. Our B&B room in the adjacent cottage was comfortable, had everything we needed and was excellent value. It’s a great location away from the main road, with no passing traffic. We were able to park directly outside. The main dining room was a little chilly on this mid-March evening, and the electric shower in our en-suite was rather feeble, but given the excellent value this really is a minor gripe. Otherwise the place was faultless.
- Denise (10/5): Well worth a visit - What a lovely place to stay. Accomodation is in a building next to the pub. Our room was very clean, spacious, very comfortable, and quiet. Bed was lovely. Plenty of tea, coffee etc supplies, also a small fridge containing bottled water and milk.
Great choice of breakfast. We had fry up both mornings. Very nice, well made, very tasty. We also had an evening meal twice. Food was amazing. I had the gnocchi one night and I think it is one of the best meals I've ever had. The pub itself has to be seen - never seen another one like it- very oldie worldie and you could imagine it hadn't been changed for hundreds of years. Well worth a visit.

- Wawman (10/5): Comfy, great food - Comfy room, peaceful location, lovely quirky pub full of character, food also lovely.
- Helen (9/5): Peaceful indulgence for beer lovers. - Traditional Inn.
This beautifully kept, thatched inn, with real fire and cozy rooms has an old tap room at the back. The food is simple but delicious and fairly priced. Service excellent. It’s a must visit if you are in Suffolk. We went and stayed in the accommodation for my husband’s birthday. It’s his favourite pub in the world! Last time we stayed (2014) the room was freezing but there has been a refurb since then.
- Roy (8/5): Very good - The Low House is an authentic traditional pub experience. The staff could be more welcoming.

- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (8/5): Excellent stay for a short break in the centre of Laxfield - Accommodation was great, as was the cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly. n/a

- Jennifer (10/5): We moved house that day & needed to stay somewhere close to our new house before moving in the next day. We had prev - Location & it’s community concept Nothing
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, nestled in the centre of the village overlooking the church. Good selection of home cooked meals and spacious clean room. Plus a fabulous old pub full of character with delicious local ales served straight from the cask. Only a small electric shower in the room, but it worked fine and did not detract from our stay.
- Martin (10/5): Friendly pub - Very friendly pub with excellent food.
Lovely atmosphere and great beer selection.
Rooms clean and comfortable.
Handy for exploring inland or a trip to the coast.
Recommend.
- Maureen (10/5): Brilliant will come back - Breakfast excellent, comfort excellent, location excellent.
Enjoyed the stay thank you. The shower over the bath the only negative.
- Mary-anne (8/5): Gorgeous traditional pub - We loved the building and the village itself. It was a really old fashioned pub, without a bar but the real ale was excellent. We enjoyed the garden and the lovely attitude of the young staff. A very recent reviewer mentioned the landlady made him/her feel like an inconvenience. We felt the same way. We ate at the pub, delicious fish for one of us, not such good tagliatelle for the other. When she asked us about the food, we praised the fish dish and politely mentioned our disappointment with the pasta. The landlady's response was that no-one else had been disappointed and she seemed annoyed. From then on, despite our best efforts she remained polite but ice cold!
It is always difficult when asked for comments on food- we wished we had kept our views to ourselves. It was the only thing that marred a very pleasant stay.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in a beautiful bedroom with a large bathroom. The fridge and drinks facilities in the room was nice. There was a Lovely garden. The breakfast was great.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Superb - Friendly Staff. Beautiful Location.
- Paul (8/5): I really smashing Time Capsule of the pub - This is an incredible old pub which appears to have been unchanged for a couple of hundred years or more. Excellent beer served from the cask in the taproom. Good food and comfortable rooms. The staff generally were very pleasant. We did get the feeling that the landlady felt we were something of an inconvenience.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Riana (10/5): Relaxing, attentive the perfect start to our holiday - Beautiful setting, friendly staff and spacious bedroom. The food the evening was very good and the breakfast with fried potatoes definitely a winner. Will definitely be back Nothing staff very helpful and friendly and if there was anything that did not meet our expectations sure it would have been addressed
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional - We liked everything about our stay. We were upgraded to a lovely spacious room with a bright large bathroom. We arrived on a motorbike and were able to park our bike close to our room.
We had a dinner and two breakfasts which were varied and plentiful. The brisket just melted in the mouth and the desserts were to die for!
The Inn is very old and quirky with lots of little snugs. The owners and the staff were so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The village is interesting with a lovely church and informative museum. The locals are so friendly and everyone stops to talk!
We were lucky that the monthly market was on when we were there. Nothing not to like.
- Marc (10/5): Great long weekend break in a very interesting pub - We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Kings Head Low House. The owners and staff were delightful. Our room was very comfortable and we had 3 lovely dinners in the dining room. The pub itself is very quirky, especially the Tap Room!
- Sandy (10/5): wonderful quirky property full of character. - location excellent in countryside. lovely garden. food excellent. breakfast and evening meal good. So much character in this property. wonderful liked everything
- Alistair (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky historic pub with lots of atmosphere and great food Nothing
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (7/5): Good - Pub and rooms very clean.
Car parking good. Need more choice at breakfast, more toast and preserves,
Drains and damp smell in bathroom,
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Great location , super room
- Sally (6/5): Comfortable room. Food ok but definitely not value for money wouldn’t stay again at £125 per night b&b. - Unique property lots of little rooms . Room we stayed in was comfortable and very clean Staff on arrival were not overly welcoming , felt I was in the way when checking in .
Food was ok but expensive for what you got , I had home cooked ham and eggs , 2 very thin slices of ham ( cold ) with one egg and chips . Breakfast food was good quality , but limited selection and never asked if we wanted more tea or anything ( v small teapot between 2. 1 slice of toast each ) hence the not great value for money review . Check out 10 am also very early .
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Andy (9/5): Lovely quirky pub with great accomodation - Great location, accomodation & food.
- Maggie (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect stay. Warm welcome. - Beautiful pub, like going back in time. Booked dinner and breakfast too, food was exceptional.
- Diana (10/5): A lovely short break, lovely staff and the evening meal was excellent - Lovely location and beautiful old place Nothing
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic find - What a wonderful find. The accommodation was just off the courtyard and was lovely. Spacious, super comfortable bed, clean and had tea & coffee making facilities along with a little fridge. We had an evening meal and breakfast there which were both superb. Staff were very friendly and the pub was charming with a real atmosphere. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to explore Laxfield but this just gives us an excuse to return!
- Keith (10/5): It was perfect. - Our stay was a stop on a long country walk. The Low House is unique...an old-fashioned pub without a bar, But it has been turned into a very comfortable and friendly stopover. The breakfast and dinner were perfect.
- Sally (9/5): Great pub ,great place, great food. - The area, the unique fascinating pub, the good beers and lovely food. One or two areas required better cleaning in our room i.e. toilet rim and inside the window frames.
- Daniel (9/5): Fantastic stay at a wonderful old pub. Owners were very friendly and food was delicious. -
- Ralph (9/5): Fantastic pub in a really beautiful village. Good food and drinks, nice locality.... I just wish I'd - The pub itself is like something out of a Dickens novel. A real novelty and all genuinly old. The bed was the best I've ever slept in away from home. The bar.... well, there isn't one, a room full of barrels to choose from. The TV could have been a little bigger for the distance from the bed, I couldn't read subtitles for example. Oh, and the toast... too crunchy, I was afraid I'd bust a tooth! (Gave it to my wife though, so it wasn't wasted).
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Room was comfortable- nice to have water and biscuits.
Comfortable bed.
Good choice of Breakfast.
We also had a meal in the evening which was very nice.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - We were visiting family in Laxfield and used The Low House for our two night stay. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and large bright bathroom. Breakfast was great with a good choice. We will definitely stay here again.

- Carol (10/5): Lovely stay in a character property - A beautiful property oozing with character . We stayed in a ground floor bedroom with its own entrance . The room was spacious and beautifully decorated in a French style. Very comfortable bed and a big bathroom . Tea and coffee facilities were also provided . We dined at the property and the food was lovely, well cooked and presented. Breakfast was also delicious with good quality ingredients .
Thank you for a lovely stay . N/a
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Nick (9/5): excellent. - The breakfast was very good, however an alternative to the sourdough bread would have been nice.
Also a little earlier start time for breakfast would be good. Everything about the accomodation and facilities were excellent, my only gripe would be that the electric shower only reached lukewarm.
- Diana (9/5): Very pleasant staff very friendly - Lovely old property
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Dennett (9/5): Country Inn with rooms. A great place to stay. - Great country inn ambience in a village location ideal for cycle touring. This was an ideal overnight stop on a cycling tour of East Anglia and there was nothing to dislike
