- Tracy (8/5): Lovely pub but rock hard beds - Lovely bar and restaurant. Staff very friendly. Room 5 was very small and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed and pillows I have ever slept on. My partner likes a hard bed but he said this was like sleeping on blue circle cerement. Shame as we stay in Lincoln quite often but would not stay again because of this.

- John (10/5): Great pub atmosphere - Second time we have stayed. Lovely hotel, with great staff and a lovely restaurant. Very busy pub but a lovely atmosphere. Parking is tight, meant to be for hotel guests only but we noticed a lot of people parking there and then walking off into town. We will be back when we stay in Lincoln again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay in the heart of Lincoln! - We were warmly greeted, upgraded as they were not full, our room was modern, boutique, nice personal touches, we stayed on one of the hottest nights of the year and even with fans going the temperature didn’t go below 29’C in our room overnight! It was an oven! Nothing the management could’ve done more. The breakfast was absolutely spot on and we were allowed to leave our car until lunchtime in the car park which was so appreciated while we visited our daughter. Thank you so much, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, all the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy.

It was the perfect location for us to attend a concert at the castle, just a 1min walk away. The hotel check-in was simple, our room was lovely, albeit compact, the bed is huge and very comfortable, and it is very central and a historic building. Evening bar staff were a little salty, but the day time team were great. The breakfast is pre-ordered the night before, and was really lovely. Nice ingredients and poached cooked perfectly! The icing on the cake for me has to be the aftercare. We had left a jumper at the hotel, loving 2hrs away wasn’t an option, but they happily posted it for me and it was with me 2 days! Outstanding service.

We had a two bedroom cottage next door to pub quiet after 1030 ish , plenty of room and well equipped we ate a salad in and drank waiting for 6 pm concert start .staff next door lovely and excellent breakfast served till 11am . Uber up hill is highly recommended at 4 quid ,enjoy the walk down !

Room 1 was large and comfortable but on a hot day, even 3 fans could not keep cool and had to leave window open at night. On site parking a bonus. Open top bus tour stops outside and is very interesting. Bomber Command stop worth a visit on the tour. Would stay again

- Paul (8/5): The Duke William hotel - Room clean and tidy, quite a lot of stairs to get to rooms especially room 9 which was furthest away. a few minor things. Sink pedalstill cracked, cracks in ceiling above bed. Apart from that bed comfortable, facilities good, had 2 night stay 1st breakfast was great 2nd day not as good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Samantha (6/5): Nice but noisy… - My husband and I stayed here for a night away. The room was beautiful - it was very clean, decorated lovely and was spacious. The room was directly above the beer garden which was incredibly noisy until just gone 11pm when the bar shut. Word for word you could hear what was said outside and obviously people were there enjoying themselves - loud and rowdy as to be expected in a popular pub. But, if you want an early night or are a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend. Unfortunately for us too, in the morning the person in the next room was up at 7am and the walls are very thin so it sounded as if they were showering in our room. The pub / restaurant was very busy when we went, so quieter times might be better. Overall I enjoyed it - the breakfast the next morning was delicious too - but I wouldn’t stay again.

However, it had quite a nice shower room and was adequate for one night! Breakfast was included but unusual, as we had to pre-order what we required and there was no table available where you could get breakfast cereals or fruit drinks.

- Adam (8/5): Lovely place but a couple of issues - This was outside stay having loved our previous visit 2 years ago. The biggest issue was the parking - the extension to the beer garden has taken half the car park. It meant we spent ages trying to find somewhere to park, as all the pay and displays were rammed full. The hotel itself is lovely, albeit it could do with a bit of a refurb in the bathrooms. The water pressure was non existent. The food is lovely and selection of beers in the bar great. I do love this place, but the parking has put me off a bit

- Darren (10/5): - The staff are all so friendly, made us feel welcome and couldn’t do enough for us , the food was really nice and the room was beautiful, loved everything about our stay. This will be the place we will book every time we visit Lincoln.
- David (10/5): Excellent stay. - Lovely rooms with tea and coffee facilities. Nice touch with the cookies and cafetiere. Very comfortable nights sleep. Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Would return.
- Robert (10/5): - The property is very much of it's time some access may be challenging. This aspect is put aside by the helpfulness of the staff with luggage etc. The room was spotless and cosy with everything you would need. We had our evening meal there which was equally perfect with an excellent choice of menu and quality of food. This ran over to the breakfast which was just perfect, much the same as the evening there was plenty of excellent choice. We will definitely stay again whenever we are in Lincoln.

- Sara (8/5): Overnight stay - We have stayed at the Duke william several times, the food is fabulous, the staff are friendly, we love the location, the reason we haven't given it 5stars is that the toilet seat in the bathroom was loose and quite dangerous this was not something that had just happened, we were amazed that the cleaner didn't flag this whilst she cleaned the room it could have resulted in an accident.

- James (8/5): Lovely little pub with rooms - This is an excellent place, even if a little understaffed on this particular visit. Those there still trying hard, and a lovely little pub with rooms.
- Grahame (10/5): Great location and great service - Room very comfortable and quiet. Staff were excellent. Free parking at the back of the pub was a godsend. Recommended!
- Hilary (8/5): Good but could have been better - Really nice hotel in the old part of the city. Near the cathedral and castle. Approx 25 mins walk from the train station, but uphill along Steep Hill. Room comfortable with large double bed. Good quality toiletries provided. Breakfast was not buffet style. You had to order the night before. Choice was a bit limited. Cereal choice was bran flakes or cornflakes, no muesli or granola or fresh fruit or yoghurt. However I asked if they could provide muesli fruit and yoghurt and they did and it was good, particularly the fresh fruit salad, delicious. Disappointed with the toast with the cooked breakfast as it was white sliced! No offer of brown or granary etc. Have had better breakfast elsewhere.
