Breakfast was not tasty and getting waffles was a struggle, live food stations outside was not well managed. When we checked in we had no towels in our room. We would not consider staying here again.
- rahulbhatli (2/5): A 3 star hotel experience - Me and wife were doing a road trip via Mysuru. We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. This should not be called 5 star hotel. The staff, specially at the reception were busy with themselves, not sure what kind of gossips last days. Not once, twice - every single day we stayed there. Even when approached for simple things like “checking out” they acted like they are doing us a favour. The in-room dining gave us wrong order twice. We called 3 times, at the reception, no help. We got our “missing” order 2.5 hours after we ordered; at that point we simply refused. No apologies from them, they didnt care. The security staff at the door was more attentive than everyone inside the building. Even at the breakfast, they hardly were attentive to anyone. Outside of this hotel, Mysuru people are warm and full of hospitality, you will not feel that way in this hotel. Rooms arent big either, that would have been ok if the hospitality was at all there. I loved Mysuru, but will never go back to this hotel.

The hotel is well-located in the city, so getting to popular places like Mysore Palace and Chamundi Hills was very easy. At the restaurant, Himankhi was outstanding. Her service was warm, attentive, and very genuine. She checked on us at the right moments and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. Her way of taking care of guests really stood out. At the front desk, Arjun was extremely helpful. He handled everything smoothly, answered our questions patiently, and made the whole check-in experience feel effortless. His professionalism and friendly approach made a big difference. I also want to mention Darshan from the front office, who helped us with our luggage and car. He was quick, polite, and very supportive. And Samal from housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean and well arranged during our stay. Overall, the team made our stay pleasant and hassle-free. We appreciate their effort and would be happy to come back again.

Tried both of the in-house restaurants and enjoyed the food in each — the buffet breakfast was also really good with plenty of options. Service was smooth and overall the experience felt easy and enjoyable. A solid choice for a pleasant stay in Mysore.

- bettylow (4/5): Really disappointing - It is hard to believe that this prime hotel of the Accor chain could be this bad. The hot water didn’t work. The plumber who fixed it left a mess in the bathroom. It took 3 calls to reception and 2 hours to get someone to come and clean the mess. The food in the restaurant was very mediocre. The service was not up to the usual Indian standards. The visa machine didn’t work on checkout. Our driver was given very poor accommodations and reported that the washrooms were unusable and he had to sleep at another hotel. He was not provided with water to wash his car etc etc

- seemantad (4/5): Not a 5 star....Very poor service - Grand Mercure Mysore failed to meet even basic expectations, let alone those of a 5-star property. We encountered inattentive staff, incomplete room furnishings, bathroom fixtures stained with salt and water marks, and flies hovering around the breakfast area. Alarmingly, we have experienced significantly better service and cleanliness at other 3-star and 4-star hotels in Mysore. This property is undeserving of its 5-star reputation.
- Sri137 (4/5): Grand Mercure Mysuru - Don't Recommend - We were family of 4 and booked a suite studio room at Grand Mercure Mysuru. Though it is placed at the right location, the hotel lacks the comfort and quality. To start with, the bed was sunken and had to change the room , the corridors are left with left over food plates from the guests and they stay through out till you call the housekeeping or reception to clean it. The bathrooms are very small with a tub attached . The water outlets are usually blocked causing water logging throughout. The buffet breakfast is average, definitely not upto the standard of other similar hotels around. They do have a high-tea with decent chai/coffee but snacks provided were horrible. Instead, they can serve basic cookies with coffee/tea. Finally, the duty Managers are pathetic who doesn't have any interest to take the feedbacks from the guests.

Had dinner on the roof top restaurant of the hotel.All went wrong that could possibly go wrong.It started with insufficient table space to accomodate our group (11 members),then with drink orders that were much delayed despite repeated reminders,to starters and main course that was defenitely below average in quality of preparation (half cooked paneer and broccoli) for the price and brand of Mercure to finally not being able generate a bill in time.

From the moment we checked in, the hospitality stood out. The staff was warm, welcoming, and super attentive without being intrusive. The check-in process was smooth, and our room was ready even though we arrived a bit earlier than expected—a much-needed win after the drive. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully done with a mix of modern and traditional touches. The bed was super comfortable, and the little touches—like Mysore sandalwood-scented toiletries and a personalized welcome note—really made it feel special. Breakfast deserves a special mention. It was lavish! From fresh South Indian dosas and filter coffee to continental spreads and live counters, every morning started with a mini food fest. We also had dinner at their rooftop restaurant By the Blue, and the ambiance there was magical—especially with the Chamundi Hills in the backdrop. What I loved most? The location. The hotel is right in the heart of the city but still feels calm and away from the chaos. We explored Mysore Palace, St. Philomena’s Church, and took a quick trip to Chamundi Hills—all easily accessible. The hotel also has a small but clean pool and a decent fitness center, which we made time for. The in-room dining was prompt and the staff ensured our stay was seamless. It’s not just a hotel—it’s an experience that blends local culture with comfort. Perfect for a family staycation, a couple’s getaway, or even a solo self-care trip. Would I return? 100% yes. - uv1303 (2/5): Worst ever experience & unexpected from Accor Brand - Check In: 24th Jun 2025 (Room: 504) I have checked an hour and half ago. But the experience has made me to pen down my experience even when I have checked out planned tomorrow. The reason to book it was its location being close to Mysore Palace and my previous happy stays at other properties of Accor brand. However, this has turned out as one of the worst ever stay of our life, and definitely never expected it from the Accor brand. 1. The room has too much of dampness. Pillows are feeling wet and it is extremely uncomfortable to stay in the room. Roof freshener has been sprayed but still there is hardly any change. 2. The room has only one bed side table, even the space is available. Should the guest keep mobile, wallet and other items on bed? 3. Luggage took more than 30-minutes to reach our room. 4. Simple things have been made complex. For accessing in dining menu, one needs to scan a code placed in the room. This takes you to a webpage full of ads and unnecessary information and in the maze of this absurd page, it took us a while to reach to the in dining menu. We asked to provide a hard copy for simplicity and the staff handed over a print out pages stapled in our room. 5. When everyone is working on sustainability, the hotel has provided no hand towels in the washroom. Even tissue box was empty, which was filled upon notifying. But why aren’t there any hand towels? 6. The room has a Samsung TH, but remote placed was Sony TV remote. Upon notifying, they corrected the remote. Is anyone checking the readiness of rooms? If anyone is considering to stay in this hotel and expecting to be of Accor standard, my sincere request is to please AVOID & look elsewhere.

- deepakm435 (2/5): Disappointing experience - Even though this hotel is listed as 5 star on Accor website and it's priced similar to a 5 star hotel, the service is no where close to a 5 star hotel. - Water in shower was not hot, it was only lukewarm. I called front desk, they sent someone and they said that's the max hot it gets. - Hair dryer wasn't working. - Being an Accor plus member, we redeemed our welcome drinks but the drinks were made by a waiter, not a bartender. As a result, the drinks weren't good, also the quantity of the drinks was very little. - Room didn't have hand towels or face towels. - Room didn't have an iron. - Everything in dinner buffet was cooked in mustard oil and had really strong mustard oil smell and flavor. Very few items were eatable. - I had a room upgrade voucher but front desk said they don't have inventory even though I could see the room was available on the Accor app.

However the wait staff never explained or approached us and we did not figure out the coffee station was set up outside until we were leaving. Staff interactions were courteous and upon request we were granted a slightly later checkout time. However the check out process was chaotic. After everyone kept jumping in front of us who were patiently waiting our turn, we ended up having to elbow in to be able to check out. I am ready for this interaction when I am at a market but not at a 5-star hotel. I would give this hotel a 3-star not a 5-star.

Has to wait for an hr to get a tea during morning breakfast.

After serving ourselves, we realised that all the food in the buffet was lukewarm and none of the items in the chafing dishes were hot. We asked to meet the restaurant manager but we were told that he was not present. Very surprising, being a Saturday evening ! We told one of the waiters about this but he just walked away. We then asked for the captain and a guy called Manas came to meet us. When we spoke with him about the issue, he had the gall to answer “what can I do” and he was smiling all the time ! We then suggested that he get us hot food from the kitchen and we told him what we wanted. He agreed to serving us hot food from the kitchen. We waited over half an hour but there was no sign of any food. We once again called Manas and asked him what the problem was. He then got us a plate of vegetable kababs which we had not even asked for. By this time we were extremely annoyed and angry and we walked out. At the reception we asked for the duty manager and met a young guy who offered us food or coffee and tea. We had already ordered our ride back home and declined the offer. We are extremely disappointed and annoyed by the way your staff treated us senior citizens. A hotel like Grand Mercure should have polite, respectful and responsible staff: not young boys who have total disregard for guests.
- SwarajAnand (6/5): Compact Property in a Great Location, But Falls Short of Accor Standards - The property is small and compact, and while the location is excellent – close to the palace, zoo, and other attractions in Mysore – the experience didn’t fully meet Accor's expected service standards. Repeatedly, no one answered calls at reception, and room service was delayed on multiple occasions. The bakery items at breakfast were not fresh, and although I shared feedback, there was no noticeable action taken. On the plus side, the rooftop pool with an open-air jacuzzi was a real highlight. But closing it at 7 PM felt unnecessarily early, especially for guests wanting to relax in the evening. Overall, a property with potential and a great location, but service and responsiveness need serious improvement to meet the brand’s reputation.

- zoltan (8/5): Good - Hotel is lovely and in a very central location, the check in wasn’t a good experience, we arrived to the hotel at 12 and were told we can check in is from 2pm however if we get back at 1pm we should be able to check in. We got back at 3pm and the room wasn’t ready until after just 4pm. There is a small shop not far from the hotel to get some bits if you need them. On the same road a few kms away by Tuk Tuk there a lots of nice restaurants. Hotel’s buffet was ok. In general it was a good stay.

If they do not refund me in full, I will have no choice but to file a formal complaint with the police. Such poor service and lack of accountability should not be tolerated.

Gym, pool and games facilities were really lovely and we made use of all. Rooms could be cleaner in my opinion, bathroom tiles were a little dated and there should be better attention to detail for the hotel standard.
