- Philippa (10/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Hotel was very nice. Loved the bathroom. Convenient location. We had stayed while renovations were happening in the bar/reception area and was a little inconvenient but understand its just temporary. We'll be back Temporary renovations
- Sichel (8/5): - the property is a bit older than most. rooms were nice needs updating
- Mike (10/5): -
- Terry (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Lovely relaxed hotel. Will definitely stay again - Great service and immaculate accommodation. Great bar and restaurant with amazing food.
Bed was super comfy and our room was serviced like we we first arriving. Hard to find anything to complain about. The location was handy to town, but quite a steep street for parking and unloading. Not really an issue
- Mace (10/5): - Very nice
- Julie (8/5): - Location and staff
- Kylie (10/5): - Breakfast was good, rooms were adequate, very friendly staff. The coffee cups in the room could have been proper size mugs for decent coffees.
- Bernard (8/5): -
- Tim (10/5): - I have to say the dining room my staff were excellent so very well trained and preformed their duties so very well. Food was amazing also. We loved everything thing about Wellington unfortunately the weather did not do us justice but we still loved our time and would highly recommend the Sofitel to our friends and family
- Annabel (7/5): A pleasant stay - friendly staff. - Great Bistro/ breakfast Room options limited.
- Jayden (10/5): -
- Majed (10/5): Astounding and unforgettable stay. - Everything. I liked that the Gym is 24 hours so whenever I feel like going to it. Most importantly I would like to thank the amazing front office team ( Mr. Sergio , and Ms. Khushi and all of the rest of the team ) specially Mr. Sergio was very attentive and kind to all my inquiries and helped assisted me with my issues. So thanks a lot. Nothing, but if only if a swimming pool was provided but that’s doesn’t erase the fact that this hotel stay really deserved a 10 out of 10.
- IMJ (9/5): - Very comfortable, we arrived on a very late flight from Sydney, so this was a hotel to sleep in - which we did, peacefully! It was all fine.
- John (10/5): Sofitel delivered once again. We will be back - Great, engaging staff. Sofitel always add that extra touch of class in all areas, which we like. Lovely breakfast. Clean, tidy and immaculate throughout the hotel. Nothing comes to mind.
- Johns (9/5): - Location, the staff, food, comfortable, tea & coffee in room. The price to park the car overnight- very expensive. I didn't have a bed side light on my side of the bed - room 601. When I mentioned it to reception on checking out the girl said the light was probably being repaired. Nothing mentioned when I checked in. Also the price of the breakfast how do you jusify the $52 price. Totally overpriced and won't pay that price again, next time I stay. This should be complimentary.
- Michaelgo26 (8/5): Central hotel in Wellington - Sofitel Wellington is centrally-located across the road from Bolton St Cemetery with access through to the Botanic Garden. A short walk takes one to the harbour front with many eateries, excellent restaurants and opportunities for helicopter rides, harbour cruising and canoeing. It is also a short distance from parliament house which brings to the hotel a large amount of government clientele. The most disappointing part of this was on, for us, a special occasion night at “Jardin Grill” when a party of 20 people celebrated the retirement of a colleague right in the middle of the restaurant. The club lounge is situated behind reception and can’t comfortably accommodate the large amount of guests who are provided access. However, the lounge has a generous choice of drinks and food for afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. There is also a well-equipped gym in the basement but no sauna or swimming pool is available. Our suite was one of only three with an opening door to a small balcony and was cosy and comfortable. However, the bathroom exhaust fan operates 24 hours and is disturbingly noisy during the night. The staff throughout the hotel is very friendly and always welcoming and eager to make you feel special - particularly in the restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

- karen (7/5): Nice stay and well looked after by attentive and friendly staff. - Your staff were so lovely and very helpful. Rooms were nice and very clean.
Did appreciate having a small gluten free station and that there was a dedicated toaster. As we were a large group, it was difficult to find a space where we could sit around together to just “hang out”. There is a smallish space in the lobby but it’s part of the bar and was difficult to rearrange the furniture to accommodate us all. Consequently we all ended up in one of our rooms sitting on the bed, window seat and floor.
Would have loved some plain ham to have with the breakfast meat selection.
- Jean-Christophe (3/5): - Bof aucun service d étage
- Andrea (7/5): -
- Brian (8/5): Great stay - Great facilities Very clean and good staff
- Jessica (5/5): Ok but too pricey - Great shower Location was ok but parking wasn't, very short on parking unless uou pay. Expected a bit more fancier considering I paid over $600 for a night. Not a nice view either and air conditioning wouldnt work properly either too hot or too cold and Pretty plain decor
- mark (10/5): Amazing staff - Staff excellent All was great very helpful
- Taurus (7/5): -
- Shaelyn (10/5): -
- Clare (9/5): -
- Alana (10/5): Welcoming staff, great service, very comfortable rooms, just the place to relax after a day of sightseeing in Wellington - Easy access to the waterfront as well as shops and other attractions, but in a quiet location.
- Leslie (10/5): Perfect - Beautiful small hotel close to everything. Linen and pillows were fabulous
- Rodger (8/5): -
- Manon (10/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): Comfortable and modern with very helpful staff. - Very comfortable room just a short walk from the waterfront.
Modern clean and tidy.
Staff were very helpful.
Delicious breakfasts and barista coffees included. choice of hot or cold selections very reasonably priced.

- Susan (8/5): Was good on the whole - Location, cleanliness, very helpful staff We were put in a room for people with disabilities. I had not asked for it.The shower in the bathroom was terrible . Water was all over the floor and I almost slipped over it.The staff were kind enough to shift us to another room for the 2nd night.
- John (10/5): - Breakfast excellent choice. .
- Charlotte (9/5): - Top Service, zentrale Lage
- Elaine (9/5): -
- Cara (8/5): -
- Litvinenko (10/5): Would stay again - It was very nice room and bed. Location is also good for arrival on ferry. We found parking for overnight just near the hotel. Overall, it was typical nice Sofitel experience
- Otilia (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable, value for money - Great location, check-in process was excellent, staff friendly, welcoming and helpful The driveway entrance
- rshoregon (10/5): Excellent Location in Wellington - We stayed four nights the week of Jan. 1 at the Sofitel in a Luxury Room, 1 King Bed on a higher hotel floor. We liked the ample size of the room, the extremely comfortable bed, the blackout curtains, the seating area. We included the breakfast option, which offered ample selections and enjoyed having access to the Club Sofitel, which had an afternoon tea as well as a happy hour. The location was perfect for exploring downtown, the Botanical garden, the historical cemetery, waterfront, and bird sanctuary. We walked everywhere and easily took rideshare a couple of times. The hotel has a good gym. We had a few glitches at the beginning with our key cards not working but the nice staff worked quickly to address. Highly recommend
- Petra (10/5): -
- Olive (9/5): It could have been excellent if they knew how to take care of their guests - Very clean and very elegant You pay for everything and they didn’t provide extra blankets and it was cold and the sircon didn’t help
- Vienna (10/5): Amazing, exceptional, will never forget :) - This was the best stay in a hotel I have ever experienced, from walking through the door till check out, the staff were exceptional and turned a girls weekend away into the most memorable stay! A special shout out to Sergio for his outstanding customer service, make him employee of the month please :) Nothing
- Linda (9/5): Very helpful front desk staff. - Comfortable bed and pillows. A separate blanket instead of the duvet would be ideal. Handy location and nice and quiet. More tea bags and milk (english breakfast bags)
- Jason (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Enjoyable. - Staff was great. Breakfast was great. Room was very comfortable (more below). I didn’t see the engery saver sign until day 2nas it hidden behind the door. I am supportive of saving energy and I saw the sign I would not required my towel to be changed.
Also personally while I thought the room was very nice I thought the decor made the room a little darker and less modern. But if that is the look you going for then I vote my comment.
- Slawomir (9/5): Good place to stay in Wellington - Good location, nice restaurant and very good breakfast. Friendly staff.
- Matthew (9/5): -
- Fuad (8/5): Very good hotel , friendly staff - Location and rooms Little or no plug points in room
Breakfast is complicated affair - and takes too long
Exec lounge lacks decent snacks
- Parkinson (10/5): Special stay - We had a wonderful stay overall and excellent service. The food was delicious and we were given a room upgrade! It is great that the hotel had soundproofing for comfort and privacy. The staff was welcoming, and we appreciated special touches for the occasion we stayed there. The bathroom configuration was a little awkward in regard to the bathroom and entrance of the bathroom doors.
- Fiona (10/5): Superb Sofitel - We love everything about Sofitel. Everything was petfect
- Kelsey (10/5): We can’t wait to return on our next trip to Wellington - Fantastic clean accommodation, with amazing welcoming staff.
The beds are comfortable the rooms are clean and we were lucky to be able to get a late check out at 4pm the next day so we could rest prior to flying out in the evening.
It’s always a pleasure to stay at the Sofitel every trip to Wellington.
We look forward to returning The Bose Bluetooth speaker did not work.
- Tomi (7/5): -
- Tim (9/5): - 員工友善 一開始冷氣故障,馬上更換一間
- Namita (9/5): Great location, excellent rooms and great staff - Excellent location, very nice rooms, extremely helpful staff Not enough power points to help with charging electronic devices.
- Wilson (10/5): Excellent stay with great staff. - Excellent facilities and staff. The driveway is quite limited
- Ravi (4/5): - Friendly front desk team and room service. It’s disappointing that this location is opposite to the cemetery!!
- goldsworthy (9/5): We enjoyed our comfortable stay and will be back - check in and checkout was seamless, the view was great, room luxurious, and staff were fantastic The breakfast service was a little tiresome; self service tea and coffee was not available and despite asking for À la carte' no one came to take our order; I had to approach the Maître d'hôtel to inquire about service and a cup of tea, after a wait of 10 minutes; The dining room was rather full and there appeared to be only one waitress on duty, so the long and slightly frustrating wait for breakfast was understandable. On the positive side the omelets were fantastic and all the staff did their best to accommodate.
- Kellie (8/5): -
- Yuriy (10/5): A truly five-star Christmas stay - After spending two weeks searching for the perfect hotel in Wellington, Sofitel Wellington did not disappoint and truly exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make our Christmas truly memorable, which is exactly what defines a true five-star hotel.
The location is excellent, the hotel is spotless, and breakfast was outstanding. Everything came together perfectly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended.
- Kitty (8/5): - Ontvangst Kerstdiner, geen alternatief voor zwangere gast. Kennelijk te weinig ingekocht en medewerkers wisten ook niet goed hoe hier mee om te gaan.
- Maziar (10/5): -
- Joel Tasker (4/5): Snowballing situation - When things went wrong, like the light fitting in the bathroom falling out and chipping glass everywhere, concierge staff were quick to respond and try to make right of the situation. Daniel tried his best to rectify and help fix the situation.. When things went wrong, the situation snowballed. When we alerted of a light fitting falling out, we returned to the room 4 hours later to find the fitting removed but chipped glass still everywhere. There's Buffet breakfast was awful, everything was cold slop and service was terrible for 5 star. Definitely a combination of bad food and the wrong type of people for the job. It's the little things that make a hotel 5 star for a good experience and this hotel is far from 5 stars.
- Martin (10/5): -
- melissa (10/5): Lovely and will go back to stay - Very friendly staff, really helpful. Amazing breakfast! Nice view of the hills, quiet, no street traffic noise. Lovely decor in the rooms and in the reception/lounge area downstairs
- Hadar (9/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - So clean and staff great.
- Reynaldo (10/5): -
- Penny (8/5): -
- StasNYCI (10/5): Good property - A well-maintained hotel in a prime location. Comfortable rooms, convenient access to local attractions, and overall a smooth and enjoyable stay.
Nice Breakfast, great customer service.
Will stay at this property next time in Wellington.
- AEBTokyo (10/5): Great service, elegant hotel - This is the second time staying at this hotel. To be honest, the first time we had some issues with the air conditioning in the room, it was stuck on freezing! This time was a whole better experience from friendly check in, nice spacious room. If you are able to use the club lounge, this is a lovely area to chill, enjoy some complimentary snacks and drinks. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant, wonderful breakfast buffet, also used the gym which is a decent size and enough free weights and equipment for a good workout. It’s a little walk from the CBD but suits us as we enjoyed walking, only 20 minutes.
- Tracey (8/5): -
- Ashkn (6/5): Hotel for people on business trip - 🇰🇼 Staff
- Phil (10/5): -
- TRACEY (10/5): -
Nada. Todo perfecto
- Martins (9/5): -
- Monica (8/5): -
- 792clairep (10/5): Elegant hotel - Elegant hotel with exceptional service. Every little detail was taken care of even cool fruit flavoured water in the lobby and a nice bed time tea and chocolates waiting for you in the evening as part of turn down service. The room service breakfasts were plentiful, Nespresso coffee in the room and the restaurant was just beautiful with amazing food. Bed was super comfy.
- Iona (8/5): -
- Cara (9/5): -
- 875SharonH (10/5): Gotta love the Sofitel Wellington - We love staying at the Sofitel and this last visit was perfect as usual. The staff are excellent, Hunter is an asset to the business, with out being over the top and everything feels first class. The decor is beautiful, luxe but not tacky or too bling. The only thing I missed this visit was the signature smell which used to envelop you as soon as you walked in the door, perhaps they aren’t using it anymore?
We’ve booked again for New Years Eve and can’t wait.
Highly recommended.
- Erika (8/5): -
- Annie (9/5): Short Stay but stay was highly enjoyable thanks to the impeccable details and staff professionalism - I'm very grateful for the attention to detail in the room setup. It was a pleasant surprise to see the housekeeping team recognized I was a single guest and prepared the room accordingly with just one set of towels and amenities. This eco-conscious approach is excellent, reducing the amount of washing required after I check out.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Nils (9/5): Good hotel, as expected for a Sofitel - Everything as expected - friendly staff, spacious rooms. Location could be a bit more central if staying in Wellington for holiday purposes, but in principle everything is well accessable.
- Jana (2/5): desperate for a facelift - staff were great. very dated, very unSofitel. Restaurant was also insanely expensive. Rooms felt like from an old Russian villa that a tsar with no design skills got comissioned
- Leigh (10/5): - Clean and very friendly staff
- WENDY (10/5): Absolutely Magnificent! - Absolutely awesome place to stay. Friendly, great service , everything quality. Decor magnificent and warm.next time wellington staying here.
