• Albi (7/5): I had booked this hotel which is located next to the Gallata Tower. The hotel staff transferred me w - The food was good. The dining area was very small.
• Priscila Suemi (5/5): - The receptionist from the morning period from Astan Hotel Taksim was very kind and help us with the public transportation. They changed us to another hotel Astan Hotel Taksim and did not advise us earlier by email or message, reporting an issue with electricity. We almost lost our scheduled tour due to this change. The breakfast is late, only from 8-10am, so I paid and I didn’t receive it anything for my departure. They should put the hour in the booking site because they say breakfast in the room only. I asked only for a fruit one day in advance but they said that they couldn’t offer it. They said that they could arrange a taxi to the airport but the taxi would not give us receipt with details from/to, so I took an Uber.

• Nathaly (9/5): Comfortable stay in great location. - Loved the location, close to Galata Tower and plenty of cafes and shops but not as crowded. The room was comfortable, had water bottle and tea. Nice big windows. The staff helped me coming in and finding a taxi on my way out. Small hotel so not a lot of common area, no breakfast. It was hard to find the first night. When arriving from the streetcar, there is a path underground to cross the main street and get to the stairs!

• Natasha (8/5): Perfectly located, would stay again. - Amazing location, clean and spacious room, comfortable bed, loved the juliette balconies to have the doors open and hear the buzz of the area (music, people). Towels were a bit tattered (they could be replaced), bathroom had an off-aroma (this is normal for older buildings so I just kept the door closed and it was fine), some furniture had wear & tear.

• Sandrine (8/5): Très agréable séjour au cœur d'Istanbul - Nous avions réservé la suite, la chambre était spacieuse ainsi que la salle de bain, les lits très conforatbles. L'emplacement très agréable au cœur du quartier touristique (belle montée pour y accéder). Le petit déjeuner assez 'triste' : servi au plateau, exactement le même sur 3 jours passés. La salle du petit déjeuner un peu triste aussi.

Wi-Fi is excellent. I would especially highlight the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. The breakfast is always the same, but it’s fine. The room is cleaned daily. -

• GEORGIA (8/5): - Το ξενοδοχείο ήταν καθαρό και σε καλή τοποθεσία, πολύ κοντά στο μετρό και στο τραμ. Το δωμάτιο και το μπάνιο πολύ άνετο. Το πρωινό δεν ήταν σε μπουφέ αν και ήταν σχετικά καλό. Υπήρχε ένα άτομο προσωπικό που έκανε όλες τις δουλειές (ρεσεψιόν, πρωινό κλπ). Η ταράτσα που σερβίρεται το πρωινό έχει μόνο ωραία θέα δεν είναι καθόλου περιποιημένη. Επίσης έχει πολλά σκαλιά για να φτάσεις στο ξενοδοχείο αν και σε όλη την περιοχή του Γαλατά έχει ανηφόρες και κατηφόρες αλλά είναι όμορφη περιοχή για να μείνετε.

• Diana (4/5): This hotel had too many problems. I wouldn’t stay there again. - Location was perfect. They cleaned our rooms every day. Everybody who worked there was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was terrible. No slippers or robes unless you ask for them. No WiFi. It was broken for all 4 days of our stay. That had a bad impact on my work life.
• Paul (7/5): Should be way better but still acceptable value for money - Comfy beds, heating works well, ok showers. Staff tried their best to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast terrace has great views. This is a budget accomodation; you get what you pay for. Everything is quite basic. By Turkish standards, breakfast is mediocre (which is still not bad at all). The first room they put us in was smelly. They then switched us to a different room which was better but came with broken lamps and toilet. The staff fixed every problem immediately but still this left a bad first impression. The location is kind of convenient to get to many places, it's very close to Galata tower. But to get anywhere you always have to climb some stairs. The taxi driver failed to find a way to drive here (it's all just narrow one-way alleys), so we had to walk up those stairs with our suitcases. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have heavy suitcases or are traveling with less mobile people.

• Olga (5/5): Old, broken, dirty hotel in a great place - Great location! Close to everything. Good view from the window. Even when you hear music (really nice) and laugh all the night 😀 it doesn't make you feel bad. The hotel requires total renovation, especially rooms. Everything is old, doesn't work properly: lights in the room, cracked mirror... and nobody cares 🙄. Cleaning is poor. You have to ask for a bottle of water each time. Breakfast is not bad.. but it is far to be really good. Towels are old and leaky. But the worst is the bathroom: black mold, terrible smell from the sewer, broken things... Don't want to repeat this experience.

• Misskat1980 (8/5): Cozy Stay @ Astan - Location is great, close to Kardakoy Tram and Galata Port, Bridge, and Tower, everything is within walking distance, Expect A lot of uphill and downhill walk, cobbled roads - as it is surrounding the Galata tower area. They can improve on facilities, like towels without holes - we had to request for slippers, the coffee maker and kettle is not working , we did not complain to the reception anymore since we only stayed for 2 nights and were mostly outside - so only water is complimentary, bed is nice, interiors of the room are better than most - there's a nice wine resto in front of the hotel - Vigneron - perfect place to end the day. we did not avail the 10 euro breakfast as we opt to take it outside, check in and check out were easy - we left our bags at the reception after check out so we can explore the area a little more. They can improve on facilities, like towels without holes - we had to request for slippers, the coffee maker and kettle is not working - so only water is complimentary, - a little room freshener and lounge music will also help to liven up the hotel

• Terézia (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is tiny, family run, has an amazing breakfast on the rooftop (5th floor) with spectacular views. The breakfast is atypical, exotically Turkish, in lots of little bowls, so one tastes lots of things. There is authentic Turkish tea, coffee and eggs in various ways. The rooms are exactly as in the pictures. And the best part is the location!!! A few steps (or stairs) from the tourist center, with lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, sights... Right in the neighbourhood are ancient Christian churches. On the other side of the Bosphorus (10 min. across the Bosphorus) are the most famous mosques. My room didn't have a robe and slippers, but I didn't miss them. Someone may be bothered by the music under the windows (not loud music, but a nice original melody, probably something like a whistle) long into the night (until about 11:00), but someone may, on the contrary, like it very much - like me :-).
• Francesca (9/5): Lovely, place, beautiful breakfast terrace - Excellent place to stay to visit Istanbul. Central position, well connected, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Clean, lift available. Make sure you get the breakfast as it is served in a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view. The hotel is on a very quiet and safe road. There is a music bar just outside that plays relaxing, lounge music until 22:30 (I personally did not mind it at all). While the hotel is relatively easy to reach, this neighbourhood of Istanbul is on a quite steep hill with narrow roads and a lot of steps and staircases everywhere, which could be a bit challenging for persons with reduced mobility.

• Alexia (10/5): Wonderful stay at your hotel! - The property is well located, well maintained, clean and the staff is wonderful. Tolga was extremely helpful, the hospitality staff was great. Rooms were clean every day, same as towels, we were given water every day. The AC worked well and beds were comfortable. The hill and steps but that can’t be changed, this is Istanbul where hills and steps are everywhere. The location is wonderful, close to Galata Tower, and we loved it.
