Guest Reviews
- Thomas (6/5): - Friendly staff. Unexpected credit card progress. Commode had a ring inside so not clean. Hair on side of tub. Floors had dirt in places. Bed more like a camping cot than bed.
- Robert (10/5): - The views around the area are beautiful and the town is peaceful and quiet
- Brad (8/5): - Decent hotel. Good location
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - I am sorry to say the room was very unclean and had to change rooms. Love the area but won't stay there again
- Kevin (4/5): - Check in was nice. Guy is very friendly. Hotel is extremely outdated. If it’s one night it’s solid. Not much going on
- Terry (8/5): - It was quiet and we needed quiet The water pressure couldve been better but the bathtub was roomy so that made up for it .

- Alyssa (10/5): - It was great
- Hal (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms, the little balcony at the back of the room overlooking a creek, great value for the money!
- Timmy (10/5): - Great stay
- Paul (10/5): - Dillon was friendly and helpful. Nice town, nice folks
- Verified traveler (8/5): The good & the not so good. - The good points were the location, the friendly welcome at the desk, and the cleanliness of the room, linen, and towels. I will say, the laminate floor appeared to have been mopped with dirty water as it had a tacky film that left our socks dirty. The shower water was just barely warm when on full hot but at least it wasn't cold. Also worth noting was that there is an extra percentage charge for paying with a credit card...that should be disclosed before reserving.
- Neal (6/5): - It was 63 in the room when we entered and the thermostat on the wall was set to 69. I finally turned the whole unit off.
There wasn't much hot water. It would start out hot but within a minute it was down to just warm.
- Rex (10/5): - Cool little town and the Inn was conveniently located to walk around.
- Robin (10/5): - The man at the front desk was very polite and helpful. He attended to all our needs. We will definitely stay there the next time we come to town.
- Abigail (6/5): - Average stay.
- paul (6/5): - Johnny was great but the bathroom shower curtain needed attention.
- Robin (6/5): - Good for the area. Was clean and quiet.
- Deborah (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating.
- Christina (10/5): - .
- Marc (8/5): - Clean and quiet. Great views from back balcony.
- Lawrence (10/5): - secluded Motel just past the Cumberland Gap Tunnel/ Quiet, secure location . Very nice owner operator. Perfect for a night , then down the road.
- marc (4/5): - 2 star
- Suzanne (10/5): - This was a great place tucked away in the hills. We are grateful they were pwt friendly and even had a back door to our room with a patio
- Jeremy (2/5): - The location is wonderful. It’s in a dreadful condition. No hot water, Areas of construction within the room
- Joyce (10/5): - This is a neat little town! The motel was very clean, the owner was super nice!. We only stayed one night, but we hope to return in the near future.
- Matthew (6/5): - The price was good. They offered free water. The room was clean but they need to change their towels. Horrible towels. The towels are so thin because of over used. At the last day, we noticed that at the bottom of our bed sheet there was a a bloody looking stain on it. We think it was a paint because they just painted their furniture. We are better in checking our bed sheets when we first get into our room but this time we didn't do a very good job. Hopefully, it was not blood .
- Penny (10/5): Nice place - Was just a quick stop on my way to Greenville to visit my brother. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room was very clean and quiet.
there was varnish/stain smell. But it didnt bother me
- Keri (10/5): Great little stop - Room was recently renovated; very nice and clean. Bed was way too soft for us and towels are pretty threadbare. They are working on it though! I would stay again.
- Kay (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay.
Only suggestion we have would be to get better towels.
- Kendra (6/5): - The girl working the first desk was super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very big and spacious. We loved the balcony where we sit outside and listened to the creek running,
- Ervin (8/5): - Room was not cleaned well. Staff shared they had employees quit and were not fully staffed.
- Derek (10/5): - cool little hotel in the middle of nowhere.
- Debbie (10/5): - Love staying at Cumberland Gap Inn! Friendly staff and beautiful view!
- Gavin (4/5): - Room had no place to hang clothes. No iron. Heater would get to temperature and then blow cold air, had to unplug it to reset it. Ceiling was patched with ceiling tiles in random spots. Only chairs to sit in were banquet chairs. Needs updating severely. It's the only hotel in town so they have a monopoly. This is the second time we've stayed hoping it would be better, it wasn't. Wont be back.
- Wilma (8/5): - I liked the back patio by the little creek, very private
- Christina (10/5): - Was a nice place to stay with mountain view. Very clean and reasonably priced.
- Stephen (8/5): - It was a big improvement from a visit a couple of years ago. The person at check in wasn't friendly. A new staff member th just started was not trained, was told she'll figure it out.
- Sheri (8/5): - Easy to make reservations, easy check in and check out. Convenient location, floors could use extra cleaning, towels could use an upgrade. Would stay again
- Jennifer (10/5): - Excellent experience for fall break with family
- Sharon (10/5): - Great place to visit.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Good room- convenient location- great town
- Glen (8/5): - Nice hotel. We had to request neighboring rooms (reserved 2), and they accommodated but we were surprised that they didn't do that automatically. Otherwise no surprises.
- Michael (10/5): - All things considered, this was a great place to stay. What we didn’t realize when we reserved our room was that a late arrival (by us) was going to make things more challenging. Fortunately, the hotel contacted us and we were able to get checked in, all through our phone, thanks to the cooperation of the person working at the hotel. This was all done while we were still on our way to the hotel. The person could not have been more polite, courteous, and accommodating. I’d not hesitate to stay here again, but would need to better anticipate and address a late arrival (around 1:00am) ahead of time.
- Roger (10/5): Cumberland Gap a nice place to visit - The hotel had a very pleasing appearance from the outside, and the room was very nice and clean. I like the little balcony off the back of the room. Cumberland gap is a nice quiet little town, and I would highly recommend staying at the Cumberland Gap inn. One last thing I would suggest that they get decaffeinated coffee if they’re guess so desire.
- Kyle (10/5): - .
- Dawn (10/5): - Cute room with a very nice balcony. Very clean. Beautiful town with a quaint little coffee shop.
- Deb (8/5): - Nice location. Enjoyed the Cumberland Gap area. Room had a smell and refrigerator had food left in it.
- Robert (2/5): - Nasty.
- Denise (10/5): - This little Inn was so wonderful! I couldn’t have asked for anything to be any better!
- Thanh (6/5): - Clean and nice room but there were mosquitoes. Not a lot but a few of them. It was all organized and everything work out except for the tv. But that's okay. I was able to sleep well and wake up feeling ready for an adventure.
- Bryan (10/5): Overnight stay - Accommodating and professional.
- Todd (10/5): Will Stay Again - I stayed here twice on a trip recently - one of the way there and then on the way back. I was looking forward to staying there on the way back because my first stay was so pleasant. I was able to walk to get different kinds of food and then sit on the balcony listening to a little creek. Quiet place too.
- Meredith (10/5): - What a beautiful and spacious room, so close to Cumberland Gap National Park! Lots of beautiful trails to walk right outside the door, too!
- Mary (10/5): - the inn was nice, the town quiet, however you had to drive to find restaurants and the sign for the gap is easily missed.
i missed it almost every time and almost had to go through the tunnel.
- Rhonda (8/5): - There are very limited options for places to stay in this area. Although the condition of our room could have been better (holes in floorboards) the room was very clean and staff was outstanding.
- Stewart (8/5): - Ok, nothing special
- Bruce (8/5): - Older but clean. Close to Cumberland National Park.
- William (8/5): - Great location for hiking the national park. Very walkable to coffee shop, bakery, restaurants.
Balcony was very nice, and relaxing. Friendly and helpful staff.
Wi-Fi signal was too weak to use. The room could’ve been cleaner. Bath towels were small and rough.
- Robert (6/5): - The place has potential; it's quiet and safe, has a little stream that runs behind it, accessible through a back door to the room (though the dog of the folks who I believe actually LIVE next door crapped everywhere, so I couldn't really enjoy it much), the heat worked fine, as it was cool during my stay, TV was ok too, but internet was non-existant, as was phone signal. The room has a vague turpentine aroma, as the inside of the entry door had recently been stained! The bed was pretty stiff, and sleep came in 2-3 hour increments. There's a mini-fridge and microwave in every room, and the floor tile in the bath area and shower surround looks to have been replaced recently. The biggest plus about this place, at this point, is the location. Cumberland Gap is a small, cute town, with a few yummy places to eat and drink coffee, super picturesque. A bigger town, just across the border, is just minutes through the tunnel, and offers much more. These guys have to take care of and update a few more details to really nail a great, little stay.
- Judy (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. Good pricing.
- Rose (8/5): - Over charged..my room went from 103.00 to 119.00 at check in
- Nicole (10/5): - It was absolutely beautiful
- Connie (10/5): - Quaint little town... Peaceful
- Gregory (4/5): - Michael was an attentive and helpful. The room had no working heat source, making it cold and I inviting. We were given two blankets, which were helpful. There was a coffee maker, no small frig or microwave. The room, though clean, was old, door could be closed, locked, though it was not shut-one could see light through the perimeter of door and air was easily blowing through the openings.
- Steven (6/5): - It was a clean bed and no frills. Friendly staff.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very quaint and unique place to stay. Would defstay again on my way through.
- Johnny (4/5): Sad stay. - The room was very substandard. Out dated people clearly living in hotel and working on multipal vehicle's. Room temp was hard to get comfortable veld cold bathroom sleeping area was too hot. Very limited staff interactions but polite when called upon. Had hoped for better experience since my wife and i rarely get away to our self. Simply put. Hotel quality very poor compared to the restaurants with in walking distance. Needs major updates.
- Steven (10/5): Perfect - Great place, great staff! Will return!
- Sharon (8/5): - This may seem quite small, but I appreciated good quality toilet paper!
- Larry (10/5): - It is a charming prpeety in a beautiful setting
- Angie (10/5): Super clean! - Super clean and comfortable! The outdoor space was great and unexpected. Great view of the mountains. Awsome little town to explore ,small and walkable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint gem. - Very peaceful place. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Our room was comfortable, had pretty much every amenity (fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker), and a phenomenal shower!! The only thing lacking was kleenex! Oh, and the bathroom sink faucets were backwards! No biggie, just used to hot on the left, cold on the right, so it was a little rude awakening. We would definitely stay here again!
- Jenny (8/5): - Everything was great , except the toilet it wouldnt flush.
- David (10/5): Old school comfort and relaxation! - Great stay. Had to find a place to stay when water froze at families house. Warm, quiet and clean room. Old fashioned inn. You won't find some of the amminities you'd find in a newly built mega chain hotel ie: USB ports in the lamps, etc. Very "back to the basics" stay. Very refreshing actually. Staff of fantastic. Go above and beyond to make sure your stay is first rate. Set in the bar of a mountain side, very picturesque and relaxing. Will need to come back and experience the whole town when is a bit warmer!
- Claudia (8/5): - It is a good place overall. The staff would not babysit or spoil their customers, but that's the way I like it.
- Katherine (10/5): - I liked the ambience of the hotel. I found the staff to be very accommodating. No frills hotel. Very quiet. Its not a 5 star hotel but you pay for what you get. i wasn't expecting 5 star. The mattress was comfortable, bedding was clean, room was clean. I liked the balcony. the room was very large. The parking lot was well lit, and I'd stay here again if I needed to in the future
- Emily (10/5): - Good!
- Katie (8/5): - it was a quaint little town and the room was cozy. I have no complaints.
- Ted (10/5): - Great location, nice town.
- Laura (4/5): Friendly but run down. - I’m so sorry to give a negative review. It does not reflect on the staff! The staff was friendly. And the room was clean. But the room we had was very run down and just aged. I would not stay there again. I guess I’m just used to the “tried and true” of the chain hotels. Everything needs updating and fixing at this hotel.
- Joel (10/5): - Under construction upon arrival
- Kathy (10/5): - Friendly staff. Clean room. Very reasonably priced. Room even had a balcony.
- Mark (8/5): - Proximity
Price
- Inna (2/5): - Mostly I didn’t like anything cause found hair inside the room! Plus lots noise morning on top of the roof! When the hotel needs to be fix why they charged same price didn’t get my sleep!!!
- scott (8/5): - 5th stay now over the years great launching point for our Motorcycle trips
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms were not ready until after 5 when they were supposed to be done by 2
- Amos (10/5): - This property was very clean well maintained. I loved the little patio in the back. Great place to sit and enjoy a cup or coffee in the morning.
- Paula (8/5): Simple but nice - Great place for the price. Floors recently redone so no gross carpet-YAY! Furniture and decor is outdated but the room was clean and quiet. Could use some new towels as well.
- Karen (10/5): Great place to stay in Cumberland Gap - The hotel is older and currently being renovated. The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean and as a female traveling alone, I felt quite safe.
I would recommend to others and will stay there again if travel takes me that way!
- Russell (10/5): - Comfortable place to stay. A few local shops that are walkable distance. Friendly and professional staff. Love the views. Peace and quiet.
- Stephanie (2/5): - Smoking by guests and managers near by coming in room through the air conditioning.
- CHRISTINA (10/5): - The Inn and the Town was so cute!! I enjoyed my stay very much. My room was very comfortable and very clean. I will definitely stay again.
- Lauren (8/5): Cumberland Gap - For the location and age of this inn, it was nicely updated and clean. No rowdiness outside either. Staff was friendly at check in.
- Jonathan (10/5): Fun get away - The hotel is in center of a cute down that is walking distance to hiking trails, coffee shops, and cool restaurants. It is hard to find great experiences like this
- Steve (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Family style motel - It doesn't have all the"bells and whistles,"but it is a quaint family run type hotel. Clean, quiet, and friendly with a comfortable bed. Other than microwave and cable, it reminded me of what I saw in the 60s.
- Louis (10/5): - Staff was wonderful. Stay was great. The only complaint was the bed. It had its own gap and squeaked every time you moved. We bought wd40 but it didn’t help. Not great phone service in the whole town but other then that it was great
