Guest Reviews
- Mikail (2/5): - There was a roach infestation. I saw at least 50 bugs of all stages or more. Hair on the sheets and God knows what else, and what appeared to be dried blood on the sheets and box springs. The door didn't shut properly, the walls had holes, and the baseboards were filthy. I can't think of any positives in that place. I didn't bother to shower or anything. We had to leave. Sleeping in the car was safer and more sanitary. If I could put no stars, I would.
- Louise (10/5): - They were very good southern people very understanding
- Danielle (10/5): - Nice
- Cathy (2/5): - I had to find replacement hotel at the last minute. A terrible experience after traveling on the road all day.
BEWARE - I did not stay.
- Travis (2/5): - Awful experience. Bugs under the beds, missing lights, and the whole light fixture in rooms. Bud light can in the bathroom. Floors were awfully sticky. Just go to the imperial inn across the street.
- Stanley (2/5): - I walked into the office that smelled like a wet dog and mold. A young girl entered through the door and signed me in having me sign a form stating there was No refund. I asked to see the room before bringing my bags in. She handed me the keys to room 6 and I walked over to view the room. When the room was locked you could grab the doorknob and rattle the door since there was lots of play, so I had no faith in room security. Also the bottom of the door was ragged with a large gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Viewing the room, the first thing that caught my eye was the TV that was previously mounted, had been ripped off the wall and was sitting on a dresser leaned against the wall. All the furniture was in a state of disrepair and appeared that if you opened the drawer's they would fall apart. The bathroom had a water leak and was on the floor by the sink. My son tested one of the beds that he said had bedbugs. I went back to the office and returned the key informing the office manager we would not be staying there. She advised me that I would still have to pay since the hotel had a “NO REFUND” policy. We left and found other accommodations. When we drove past the Dixie Plaza the next few days we noticed that there was a vehicle parked directly in front of room 6 which indicated someone else was staying there during time I had paid for the room.
- Samantha (2/5): - The staff were very friendly, nothing can be said negatively about them at all.
The property itself, not much good I can say there.....I didn't like how dirty the place was. I found 2 roaches in the freezer of the mini fridge and it also had built up ice in it. A live roach crawled across the floor and one across the bed.
The bed skirt looked like it had never been washed. Holes in the walls poorly patched, roach eggs and dropping on the door facing and every electrical surface. Speaking of the door, well, it looked like someone had pryed it open so the things were damaged. Cigarette burn marks on the tub.
- SRINIVASA (2/5): Will never stay there again - This motel needs to be bulldozed
- Paul (10/5): - Staff was emaqulent
- Julia (6/5): - Staff were great cleaning staff was terrible. Older facility they tried hard but very outdated.
- Leslie (4/5): - When going to turn the television on their was roaches on the electric plug. Bathroom door knob came off in my hand. The tub completely unusable very dirty. The walls had dirt all over them the shower head rusted. Chair to sit in was broke. The beds had no covers just a thin sheet like material that was clearly dirty.
- Deneen (6/5): - It was convienent
- Betty (2/5): - The proprietor was very nice but the property is disgusting. Roaches, roaches, roaches.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Flood - I was charge more than expected. They did not have my reservation. The linens/towels were dingy and stained. Our room flooded with sewage. Not a fun time but the people were incredibly nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): I would return to save some cash - Overall we were pleased with the price for the 4 days we spent there and the service was good as well. The hotel is beside a truckers route which is noisy at night but tolerable. I would rebook if I need to return to Tazewell.
- Gina (8/5): Convenient and Clean - Not what we were expecting but was close to dirt track and clean. Manager Justin was very nice and pleasant.
- Uggg (2/5): - We actually cancelled our rooms when we pulled into the parking lot. Gang of guys hanging out in the parking lot. (Read a news article a few minutes before arriving about a shooting there in May, 2020.)
- Debra (4/5): Room review - Check in and stay was good as Sarah was very helpful and friendly..the cleanliness was very poor..Romm carpet and chairs were stained and very dirty, tile floor was sticky, no. Ups or glasses....was a bit of a disappointment ..Sarah was very good.
- Cody (10/5): Awesome hotel - Great place
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was close to my destination. I was able to have my pet with me.
- Charlie (8/5): Thompson - It was reasonable,. good service. The comfort could improve.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Friendly staff. Even though it was a short stay we enjoyed it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location in tazewell. Staff is very kind. Rooms are spacious clean and comfortable, but a little dated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was well worth $66. The hand towels were dirty that was the only complaint I had.
- Dan (10/5): - Exactly what I was looking for. Large room, great price, comfy bed. Pet friendly as I had come down from Pa. to pick up a puppy. The staff couldn't have been nicer, great BBQ just down the road. I showed up at 10 a.m. and no problem checking in early. Highly recommend. Enjoyed my stay.
- Scott (6/5): - The beds weren't comfortable (and we had to ask for blankets). The room wasn't serviced while we were there (not even fresh towels). The second night we were woken up by someone coming in the room (no one in the office looked to see that the room was already taken). Nothing other than an apology was offered.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Staff was very friendly at check in and throughout the entire stay. Room was clean and very nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service. Great all the way around.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean but wouldn't go back - My room was very clean and comfortable; I give it that much. However, the volume on the TV went up and down in volume every few minutes, and I had to readjust with the remote back and forth. Annoying.
The clerk tried to reassure me that this motel was safe, but I wasn't sure, after seeing some of the clientele. A man behind the counter had on a T-shirt with profanity on the front in big letters--not reassuring, not professional. He wasn't the clerk but didn't represent the motel well.
The clerk said they did not allow locals to stay at the motel to prevent drug dealers and users, but two of the vehicles parked near my room all night long had Claiborne County tags, where the motel is.
- Daniel (10/5): Comfortable, affordable, friendly staff - Friendly service. An older place, but renovated with unique decor. A pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth 80 bucks. - Construction until 2 am kept me up and when I asked the guy did he know it was 2 am he said yeah and continued working. Killed two roaches around the tv.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap - It's cheap, and its not awful. If you value your money, and are otherwise a healthy individual with no sleep problems, it's fine to stay here.
For the rest of us, I really recommend the sleep inn down in middlesboro. Dish out the few extra bucks to have a place that's nicer, easier to work tv, farther from the road, split duct a.c. you actually control, etc.
- Tammy (8/5): - Roomy and clean room. TV volume was frustrating. Would have loved a nicer towel. Friendly desk.
