Guest Reviews
- Glenda (9/5): - Comfortable, clean and friendly All good
- Keron (10/5): -
- Aaron (7/5): Clean and comfortable but please don’t forget to provide the utensils for your guests - Very clean and modern There was no crockery or silverware in the room so I could not eat my cereal as there were no bowls or spoons provided…. No water glasses…..
- happyan3318 (9/5): - 綺麗だった。 特になし。
- REJO MATHEW (7/5): Good, worth visit - Cleanliness Little confused for location
- Jennifer (3/5): Cost too high for too little. - Rooms new. Noisy. Basic. No personality.
- Kerryn (9/5): -
- Suthers (8/5): -
- Jonathan (7/5): Pub / Motel, not Resort - The staff were helpful at check in. The room was exactly as pictured. Clean, comfortable and spacious. I would say recently renovated as ours had a new door and framework that wasnt yet painted.
Apart from the outside asthetic, our stay was OK, and much cheaper than other hotels at time of booking. It wasnt clear on the bookings.com website that these motel rooms were attached to a rather large pub. This is not your typical resort style hotel/motel for Port Macquarie. No reception to check in, although a friendly and helpful pub security guard standing outside led me to where i could check in at the bar. The staff were helpful.
The entrance to where the rooms are is little more than the pub utility/garbage storage area (see picture). I requested a ground floor room and bookings.com system came back with a request approval, except there are no ground floor rooms. The pub staff confirmed they had not seen my request. In the evening the hot water was just warm. In the morning it was hot.
There is no private verandah, id say access was removed during the renovation. You can see where they were, it looks dodgy so they took away access. The verandah you can see on the wesite is the access balcony for all rooms. This wasnt a problem for us being onsite for just the 1 night.
No toiletries other than small soap bars. Towels were good and every person got a full set (Big Plus)
- Karen (8/5): Good - The room was beautiful, clean and very well appointed The outside. The stairs and balcony need urgent attention before someone gets hurt. The car park could also do with some work
- Onyedika (8/5): - Everything but the bed The bed is a little too hard. I would have loved it softer
- Kerry (10/5): Don't miss out, enjoy!! - Perfect position in port Macquarie. Great refurbished rooms with a great pub down the stairs and quiet. Make sure you book a room next time in a perfect town. There was nothing to not like.
- Gabrielle (10/5): -
- Hugh (8/5): - Great pub food downstairs in the huge bar. As it was mid week, there was a Specials night. Friendly staff and newly renovated rooms. Comfy. Strangely no soap holder in the shower.
- Georgia (8/5): - Brand new renovation, lovely big rooms, beautifully clean, great air con!
- Gregory (10/5): - Really great friendly staff. Easy check in. I was happy with the value for money. Exactly what I needed.
- Alexandra (3/5): its pub accommodation - the bistro its attached to is lovely and has a great playground for kids. the accommodation is in great need of updating the cupboards were falling apart and the bathroom could really use an upgrade. felt overpriced for pub accommodation you really don't get much at all.
- Danika (9/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Jaison (7/5): -
- Macgregor (10/5): A home away from home , is still a home x! - Location friendly staff perfect Had to leave
- Jessica (4/5): Very dissatisfied - Beds were comfy but were made without single fitted sheets so kids ended up sleeping with no sheets which is not good. The shower was horrible, burnt my son as temperature went from normal to boiling to freezing over and over.
Motel isn’t advertised as being on top of the pub. Noisy all night and drunk people fighting at 6am. Have emailed Settlers Inn in regards to all this.
- Jaime (3/5): Disappointing. Could be improved with a little bit of work. - Being attached to the pub made it easy to grab a meal It was dirty. Dusty and there was a half eaten biscuit on the bed when we arrived.
- Dani (6/5): Modest and convenient - Easy check-in The carpet
- Dragan (10/5): -
- Madysen (10/5): Overall, really good. Restaurant and playground looked great! - We were happy with our stay. Would have stayed longer if we had more time! The showers temperature kept changing. Our children had to keep stepping in/out. Not a big deal just a little bit annoying.
- Laxmi (10/5): - Very nice and big rooms. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Fantastic room, excellent value for money, comfy beds and a pleasant experience - Easy for parking, easy booking in, very clean and nice room for the night
- Krystal (10/5): Very happy and will book again - Beds were comfy, bathroom large and very clean. Food at the restaurant was amazing Nothing
- James (7/5): Prefect place for a quick stay over that has large family room - Did the job for a transit stay over Property facilities tired but I heard they are renovating which is good
- Alyssia (10/5): -
- Melissa (8/5): -
- Ali (8/5): - The rooms were clean. My room was close to rubbish bins, and they empty them early morning
- Teka (5/5): Not happy with this hotel, eventhough it is not bad for the money spent. - Location No WiFi in the room, the room not clean,
- Trisha (8/5): - Close ta all
- Steven (9/5): Beautiful renovated room, clean and good location. - We had a beautifully renovated room that was modern and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location. Was a bit tricky to check in and find reception, we went to the bar/bistro area and they helped us there.
- Jalina (8/5): Quick comfortable stay - Room was clean and fresh. Over priced for what it was but the pub had good meals.
- Brooke (9/5): Perfect stop over on our road trip north. Ticked all the boxes. - Staff were very warm and welcoming. The bistro downstairs was perfect for dinner. And a cocktail.
- Lisa (10/5): -

- GRAHAM (7/5): -
- Aaron (10/5): -
- Jill (6/5): -
- Neic Davis (10/5): -
- Jess (8/5): Basic but exactly what we needed. Cheap! - Nothing special but perfect for what we needed for one nights stay with our family after a long day of travel. Great price. Easy parking.
- Charles (10/5): - Value for money. Only daraw back was antiquated access to rooms via very pld wooden outside stair
- Neic (10/5): AA+ - Suited us very well going back in 5 days time for a 3 nights
The staff were more then helpful and friendly and the food was fantastic
A great play park for the kids and the kids were welcomed as well
I recommend a stay here Just the steps but they very manageable not to step
- Michael (5/5): Definitely needs a shower update. - The bed was quite comfortable and the room overall was clean, I had plenty of room. Tea and coffee provided was good too. It is a very back to basics type of stay but it wasn't expensive. The Shower, why people insist on putting water savers in the shower heads I will never know. It is either boiling hot like a fire hydrant or freezing cold drippling out. I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to get it perfect with no success. Ended up jumping in a cold shower, soaping up and cold shower to wash the soap away. I was not happy and in all that time I used much more water than I would have having a normal shower.
- David (8/5): - Staff were friendly and very helpful
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- N (8/5): Good, convenient comfortable stay for work - Comfortable bed and pillow. Good Shower pressure. Rooms quiet despite being adjacent to bar N/A
- Tyler (5/5): Passable -
- Jocelyn (7/5): Good -
- Richard (8/5): Family Fun and Friendly - Great
- Tom (4/5): - Room was grotty, stained carpets and curtains, broken cupboards. Genuine 2 star.
- Lillian (5/5): Passable - Staff were super friendly. We were travelling from GC to Sydney but got told there was no way we were going to make it due to bad weather and floods. Looked online to find Settlers were the cheapest and didn't want my kids sleeping in the car through the bad weather. Got to Settlers late and they were more than accommodating. It was only supposed to be for the one night but come the next morning, we still weren't able to travel, so we extended our stay and to my surprise, Settlers lowered the price for that extra day. Pickers can't be choosers, so apart from slow wifi, unlocked sliding door and maybe not everyones clean, (I'm OCD lol) the main thing is that we had a roof over our heads and were safe and it did not flood. So Thank you so much Settlers Staff! Your energy was awesome! Didn't make us feel unwelcomed AT ALL!
- Iciar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (6/5): Pleasant - Great location awesome restaurant Old needs updating
- Karen (6/5): - I like the private balcony and the attached bistro is good for meals
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Har (3/5): Poor -
- Amelia (10/5): Definitely a great stay! - Loved the manager! Went above and beyond for us and the room was actually really cosy. Being able to hear the people next door quite clearly but that wasn't an issue.
- Shehana (7/5): A good spot to sleep to break up a long drive. - Price is great and room is big. Great play equipment for kids Not super clean and very tired old room and bathroom but fine for one night to break up a long drive. Bistro food was pretty bad given the prices.
- Kelsey (1/5): Needs to be cleaned - It needed thorough cleaning. There were long hairs on the "fresh" towels provided, all over the floors, sitting on the shower drain and in the bathroom sink.
- Christine (7/5): It was great access to the pub nice food - Everything was perfect it’s just hard to contact the property no one answers the phone but staff are great etc
- Jamie (1/5): Crap - It looked like a brothel after people have had a few drinks
- Gregory (10/5): Value - Large room in a good location. Great value for the money.
- Seen (8/5): Very hospitable and friendly staff - Availability of the room when we added extra days. Interior is a little dated.and worn.
- Brett (1/5): Bad - Woke with bites on me will never recommend would never stay again
- Achta (10/5): I really enjoyed my stay there and definitely will book they again. The staff was amazing - It’s very easy exercise to all the local and its amazing Nothing
- Patrick (9/5): convenient, well catered - great location blower used on deck or broom so we can sweep it ourselves
- Kate (5/5): Overpriced for one night - Location, easy access to town ,shuttle bus provided Rear sliding door did not lock , advised staff , fly screen door runners worn out keep falling out of tracks
- Col (9/5): Superb -
- Kym (5/5): Don’t stay here if the is something on in port prices increase - Prices were more because of state cup being on so that’s a little disappointing Pretty much everything
- Kristy (7/5): Practical and met basic needs - Couldn’t find where to check in Shower curtain
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Fernanda (7/5): Good -
- Iynky (9/5): quite friendly staff, comfy beds - very helpful and friendly staff for some reason couldn't contact on phone to check few things as phone lines were not ansered
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Downstairs Bistro and very friendly staff. Nil.
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Central to town
Great food / Large portions
Helpful staff Mould bathroom roof & shower.
Rusty rail in bathroom.
Grotty carpet. Need steam cleaning.
Balcony dirty.
- Jamie (4/5): While the food and beverages were great, unfortunately the room and some service from staff wasn't - Meal and drinks were great in the bistro, location good for a 1 night stop over. Staff weren't real welcoming, when served there was no line and i had to interrupt a conversation between two workers to be served. Carpet in the room was stained and dirty. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Rusty shower curtain rail with very dated taps, shower took alot of adjusting to get to temp ( was either boiling hot or freezing cold). While the pub has had a renovation unfortunately the accommodation hasn't, for the price charged i would have expected a little better even though it is a room at a pub.
- Toni (7/5): Was handy to town and for the function I attended - Proximity to the function I was attending There was no toaster, plates or cutlery. The microwave was dirty inside
- Whiting (3/5): Poor - Location Bins full smell came into room .door didnt lock noisey at night .
- Roslyn (1/5): Bad -
- Michelle (8/5): Perfect spot to stay if you have an event at the pub - Easy access to pub Very basic, no toiletries or dryer
- Anthony (4/5): - Obviously not owned by proud family owners.
- Jess (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nikhil (7/5): Good -
- Thais (2/5): Would not recommend. - No lights from parking, it was raining and we couldn't see anything, no covered area, I had to do 2 trips with umbrella, all 2 of us were soaked wet, we couldn't see where the puddles were. Not safe, hazardous for an infant and an elderly lady. I could not find door to the pub, there was no crockery available at all, no food available at all, not even a decent sandwich or chips.
We opened the room door and were a cockroach leg on the ground, bathroom had long hairs all over the floor. There was hair even in the fridge.
Mould on shower and very stinky toilet and bathroom.
Cups and kettle were dirty we couldn't even heat water for a tea or noodles.
- Tsering (2/5): Very poor - Pretty much nothing… Bed room is very dirty and bad smell.mould ceiling at the bathroom and rust on shower railing. Not worth what we paid for.
- Anqi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mohammad (7/5): Good -
- Mark (9/5): Good - Spacious, and good for family The access from the restaurant to the rooms, its stinky
- Xuan (9/5): Superb -
- Rita (9/5): Its was a good stay - Best location , fanatstic food, hood got a 1 or 2 night stay Needs some maintainece like painting
- Genevieve (3/5): Cheap. Beds were comfortable. Settlers Inn pub great. Bathroom needs a proper clean. - The Settlers Inn pub was fantastic. Completely modern and very very affordable. Monday was $15 meals. I had a large piece of salmon with mash and greens. Unheard of in Canberra. A piece of toast with avo and a egg costs $22. The appalling state of the bathroom. Black mould all over the ceiling. Red mould in the grout of all three tiled shower walls. A hole the size of a 50cent coin in the cornice next to the shower.
