- Stefy8110 (10/5): Lake of Como must to see - Last minute booking, went to check in person if they had some availibility as we did not planned to stay one night in Como. Noone was in reception, waited couple of minutes,then owner came and said there was only one room available for 3 pp. The room was big , very cosy and well decorated. Fridge and kettle were in the room plus cups cutlery and plates… everything was very well cleaned. The hotel is located 10 mins walk by the train station and 15 min walk to the lake. I wouldn’t mind to return in that place if l’ ll ever came back to Como
- rolandkU6021OX (2/5): Son's jacket! - My son has been there with his school and has left his jacket in the apartment, after just few hours he realised that, the teacher sent mail and tried to contact them. After few calls finally the receptionist responded, he told them that it's to expensive for them to send the jacket to the post office and hang up the phone. I tried to call them to explain them that I have a friend who lives in Como and she can come to the reception and take the jacket but they don't want to answer to my calls at all, I left the message on security phone but also nothing, they don't respond. - busytraveler325 (8/5): Convenient location with great front desk service - This was a nice place to stay, with a garden/sitting area right outside the room. There is a Lidl across the street for groceries. This place is within walking distance from Lake Como, but away from the crowds of tourists. The service at the front desk was exceptional, and Marta and the man who worked there were very kind and accommodating.
- AZeiter10 (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Marta at the front desk was really nice and helped us navigate the ferries. It was only a short walk to the train station and lake. We were able to leave our luggage there after checkout and had time to explore Varenna.
- clairehO2720QG (2/5): Angry customer - I stayed at Victoria Hotels last weekend and left an electronic device there. I know this because when I realized I left it and checked its location, I saw that it had been there after the time I checked out. I messaged them through Booking.com and they responded that they had not seen it. I had messaged them various times before and they were always very quick to respond, however, after my first message about leaving my device there, they stopped responding altogether. This came off as very suspicious to me. In addition, to them not answering my messages, there is no other way to get in contact with them as their phone number does not work. I am positive that the device was there because I know exactly where I left it and I checked its location from after the time I checked out. It was there. I am out a lot of money because of this and incredibly upset that no one is answering me. Whoever took my device, I truly hope you rot in he**.

Ivonne from front desk was such a nice person, since we checked in she gave us tons of recommendations of where to go. Lucky the hotel to have an amazing worker like her. Highly recommended
- BagshotBoys (2/5): Most awful place I’ve ever seen - We were unlucky enough to have booked this “hotel“ for a two night stay in Como. When we arrived and were shown our room it was so bad I actually laughed thinking it was a mistake. Granted it had a bed for everyone a two ring cooker and a fridge. However every thing was old mismatched and shoddy. Having read the other reviews I just thought that people were moaning but now I know they were speaking the truth. They are not antiques but old and dirty furniture. The grounds were overgrown with dogs in a room shut in and barking. The girl on reception was only able to book us in and was unable to help resolve any issues for other guests. We were luck enough to be refunded our money thanks to booking.com. Please read other reviews and do not book here.
- akta (2/5): Disaster - I did not have electricity in the first day of my stay. Outside, it was over 30 degrees C. The service first wanted to convince me that it was a power outage from the city, but after the information that I am an engineer completely changed their mind. The flat was not completely prepared for this situation. Only thanks to me it was possible to conclude that the connected devices were inefficient and caused the electrical wiring in the installation.
- Lars (8/5): Ikke hotell. Ingen resepsjon. - Dette er ikke et hotell, men apartments. Det er ingen skilter e.l. som gjorde det litt vanskelig å finne. Det finnes ingen resepsjon, så man må ringe og avtale ankomst. Selve komplekset hvor leilighetene er befinner seg i gangavstand fra gamlebyen, men er i et litt kjedelig område av Como. Men, god service og fin, ren leilighet. Greit utstyrt kjøkken, A/C i soverom og stue. TV fungerte ikke:(
- Harinder (8/5): - Superb view; no air conditioning means night is humid and uncomfortable; there was a blue light from the clock under the tv panel which is distracting at night. Great food and ice cream!
- Tormod (6/5): Slitent rom i leilighetsbygg. - Rommet var slitent, innsjekkingen forsåvidt ok, etter litt fram og tilbake. Leiligheten vår stor, men kun 1 soverom med 4 sengeplasser. Veldig bråkete aircondition. På plussiden: Døgnåpen matvarebutikk rett på utsiden.
- 39giorgior (10/5): Perfect place - Nice place . Elegant and modern, 5 minutes to the Lake. Parking under the apart-hotel at fair price, close to the historycal centre. Air condition working very well, also wifi very good . A supermarket in front open 24 h.
- jsakker (4/5): Not a hotel!! - Be careful. Think twice before you book this. At first you think this ‘hotel’ does not exists, but then you will be picked up by a guy that takes you to some rooms in a creepy elevator. Although I found a lot of hairs from previous guests, the rooms weren’t that bad. But I barely sleep due to all kinds of noises. It is definitely not what you expect when you see the website like booking.com etc.
- Maxine (8/5): Nice clean apartment close to centre - We stayed in the self contained apartments / suites. It’s a bit confusing where to go when you first turn up but a quick call and someone comes and collects you. The parking is ample but expensive €24 per 24 hours. We parked across the road out side the supermarket in blue parking bays (as recommended by staff) it’s 50c an hour max 11 hours but free 8pm - 8am so much cheaper. The suites are comfy and clean and a lovely touch of fresh fruit for when we arrived as well. Very secure location and very quiet as they are in part of what seems like a business office block. Now I know that seems strange but don’t let that put you off we couldn’t have been happier. Walking distance to town and the lake where there are some amazing restaurants and shopping to enjoy. It was somewhere for us just to sleep we grabbed food from the supermarket which is 24hr across the road for breakfast. Then ate out the rest of the time. It has plates cutlery a toaster kettle and hot plate in the room to make you feel right at home. We couldn’t find the aerial for the tv but that wasn’t a big problem for us (but just incase). All in we had a great time if we went again we would probably stay in the hotel which we found on our last day which is across the gardens rather than the apartments only because we would like to see what the difference is.

- Dizzydee66 (6/5): Not a hotel at all - The other review describing this as a fairy tale castle has mixed up this place with the Victoria Hotel. This is not a hotel at all. It is a handful of apartments in a residential building (with other long-term residents) which has been configured for short-term rentals. So there is no reception, no dining room etc. like in a normal hotel. That said, the rooms were spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. I was there on business trip so I didn't mind. For tourists its about a 15 minute walk to the Lake. I really didn't mind the place but felt I should warn people that its NOT A HOTEL!
- Make1000Memories (10/5): A castle of sorts in a fairy-tale town - Peaceful, clean, yummy breakfast buffet, and lot's of help to make your experience in Varenna an amazing one! The room was comfortable, the bathroom and amenities even better. They had these scent diffusers all over the hotel of a smell that... I fell in love with. Wish they would sell it in smaller bottles. They where huge! I asked them if they could get me one to take home (yes, I liked it that much) but they sadly could not. It's a hotel scent, bought from a hotel provider. Could not see myself going any other place in Varenna other than this magnificent hotel on the water and with amazing views and service! Wish I was there again!
