Guest Reviews
- Moriah (10/5): Beach oasis - Beach side! View of beach from the room
- Isis (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. It made our last weekend in Puerto Rico so fun. - Great location, the hotel was adorable and the service fantastic. Nothing, it was just great
- Emma (9/5): Small boutique hotel right on the beach, friendly staff and great location. - Location right on the beach, great atmosphere created with friendly staff and beautiful outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy one of their fun cocktails.
- Linna (10/5): Charming place with great service - Great location, it was easy to get to via ride-share, right on the beach and walking distance to restaurants. The ambiance of the hotel was relaxing thanks to the complimentary beach chairs and access to the restaurant/bar. The food from the restaurant was good, better than others around. The room was a bit small, but quaint and had great water pressure for the shower. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Overall experience exceeded our expectations. We'd highly recommend this place. Not very many things to call out for improvements, other than some additional room amenities such as having a blow dryer and more shelf space to set personal items or do makeup.
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful, small beachfront hotel - We like this little hotel so much that this was our second visit. We loved walking right onto the beach, where we sat all day in provided chairs and umbrellas. We opted in for the daily breakfast and found it to be fresh and delicious. They start serving at 9, but you can go down and order coffee before that. There are many restaurants in walking distance or you can uber into old San Juan. The staff is very warm and friendly. No complaints!
- Dominic (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Private beach club for guests makes this a great stay! - Awesome location and excellent service
- Christina (9/5): - The location was incredible. What a breathtaking view of the ocean. All of the beachgoers were very respectful too so it is an area suitable for families as well. The property was very peaceful and I loved the second floor deck with beach chairs so that you can get some private quiet time away from people on the beach. The food at their restaurant was delicious and I looked forward to ordering each day. The gift shop offered beautiful clothing and accessories and I was impressed by the items that they carried. Overall, I would come back again and would recommend this property to others. I think it would be great to have a common area where there are simple items such as cups, utensils, and napkins so that at night when we are enjoying local treats we have some sort of kitchenware to eat with.
- Barrie (10/5): Great beachfront stay! - Service was great and views were amazing. Loved the bea beach access and rooms were really nice. Nothing
- WILLIAM (7/5): - Right on the beach.
Short walk to some restaurants and Walgreens if you needed anything. Breakfast was supposed to be included.
Had to leave second day early, 8:40. Breakfast wasn't available yet.
General public could use the same beach area.

- Morgan (8/5): Nice, convenient beach location at a reasonable price! - The property is in a great area of Ocean Park and right on the beach. You could not ask for a more perfect location! It is in short walking distance of plenty of restaurants, shops, and even a great yoga studio. It’s also only a 15-20 minute drive from both the airport and Old San Juan, so easy to get to places you might need to go. It is also really easy to get an Uber in this area.
The property itself was as-advertised. Nice restaurant and outdoor area. They seem to be experiencing some cash flow issues at the moment due to the fact that they are currently awaiting an updated license in order to sell food/drinks to people on the beach. Right now, only guests of the property can be served by the restaurant and they have to bring the food out to the beach themselves.
Still, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Pao. The rooms are fairly minimalistic. The mattress was not that comfortable, although not horrible to sleep on either. There was a table and one wicker (not too comfortable) chair in my room for relaxing. The room could have also used some more overhead lighting. But, there is a mini fridge in every room and free snacks provided in the rooms for guests.
I asked for a late check out because the beach was amazing that day. And while they were able to accommodate me, I was charged $65 for the additional two hours.
- Jeanne (9/5): Would definitely come again! - Quiet, friendly and right on the beach! Lovely The AC blew directly on the bed.
- Lee (10/5): Amazing staff. Dreamy location on a beautiful beach. - Can't say enough about the staff! Amazing team who made us feel comfortable and welcome.
- Amy (10/5): Highly recommend! - Love this hotel so much we stayed on both ends of our cruise. Most incredible staff and views.
- Amy (10/5): Best hotel staff EVER! - The staff is incredible! The only thing that was more impressive than the staff was the location. We had the most amazing view. We laid on the beach in Sun chairs all day. There are great restaurants in walking distance. The food on Loiza street is better than anything we had in Old San Juan. We would go back in a heartbeat.
- Daniel (8/5): Great location at the beach! - The location is great. If you want to experience beach life, this is the place for you. The restaurant staff is very nice. The property is sort of basic. Flimsy room doors don't keep hallway noise out. The shower doesn't get really hot. The bar and restaurant close too early.
- Hao-Ting (7/5): - The location and staff are lovely. Hot water was not very hot, just kind of warm. However they did offer me to go to another building with hot shower

- kristinv513 (10/5): AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Great location, wonderful hotel. - Our stay at Numero Uno Beach House was truly exceptional. We spent a few days here after a cruise to relax, and it may honestly have been the very best hotel stay we’ve ever had—anywhere. The rooms are beautifully modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with beds that make it hard to ever want to leave. The entire place has such a warm, homey atmosphere that you immediately feel at ease.
A huge bonus was that the hotel opens directly onto the beach, complete with loungers and attentive, prompt beach service. It was absolute perfection and made it nearly impossible to want to go anywhere else—we truly never wanted to leave.
The service was outstanding from start to finish, the bar was wonderful, and the food was consistently excellent. Every detail felt thoughtful and intentional. But the absolute highlight of our stay was the Hotel Manager, Oki. She went above and beyond in every possible way and genuinely made our experience unforgettable—hands down the greatest part of our stay.
All eight of us agree: we will definitely be back. Numero Uno Beach House is a true gem, and we can’t recommend it highly
- sandramaureder (6/5): Amazing location, but too expensive for what it is - Let me start with the positives: the location couldn't be better and staff is super-friendly and helpful. The girls do a great job.
On the other hand though the place (I don't see what distinguishes No. 1 from an Airbnb, so I don't call it a hotel) is way to expensive for what it is. I stayed in apartment no. 13, which is in a different building (I could never choose) and I couldn't open the curtains, because all other guests would have enjoyed watching me sleep and taking a shower since all windows looked out on the patio. The bedroom area was nice, the rest of the apartment needs refurbishment asap. I got plenty of space though, which was nice. For the money you pay here, I expect someone cleaning the apartment and making the bed once daily and, quite frankly, breakfast to be included. Or you just lower the price per night by a third.

- Trevor (8/5): It was enjoyable, we liked our stay. - People were lovely and very helpful. Shower was great, room was comfortable. Location was great. Menu could have had a few more options, at least for breakfast.
- David (9/5): -
- David (8/5): Excellent property but the room while acceptable was a little run down for the price. - The location was fabulous. The property was very safe and secure. The hotel was very clean. The beach chair setup was well managed. The property was in a nice section of San Juan. Lots of wonderful restaurants nearby. The beach was great. Jumping in the waves was fun and watching the kite surfing was ideal The beds were very soft. The shower was leaking at the head, so there was a lack of pressure. The safe did not work so I had to get a key to operate. The room needs updating, it is a little dowdy. One of the staff members made an error on a drink order and did nothing about it. She stated quite a few customers experienced the same issue but would not correct it. The beach lounges were not very comfortable.
- Jiayi (9/5): -
- TravelCoffeTea (10/5): Excellent staff and customer service. - We were few of many tourists stranded in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday, January 3 rd due to closure of airways. We were able to book overnight accommodations but place would not give us curtesy of early check in or luggage storage ( VRBO property). Confused, exhausted, tired we struggled onto the beach ( we disembarked the ship, six adults, six large suitcases) and stumbled upon Numero Uno Beach Club. Front desk personal was so welcoming, kind and empathetic. The place is a very pretty beachfront hotel with cute garden and restaurant downstairs. They have lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as low wooden tables and bean chairs under umbrellas right on the beach. The place also sells day passes for non-hotel guests. When we got to the area, the six of us with all that luggage, they had one last day pass available for four people. It was 11:30 am and our check in into VRBO was not until 4 pm. We explained the situation to the host. The lady up front consulted with personnel and they have accommodated all six of us, luggage and all. The day pass price was more than reasonable and included shaded sitting and bucket of beer ( which consisted of some very interesting varieties, like most delicious coconut beer). Facility had bathrooms, outside shower, and unlimited ice cold drinking water. We ate lunch at their restaurant. It was great - quality of food, presentation, portions size and service, not to forget beautiful ambiance and the view! Our experience at Numero Uno Beach Club was excellent. When in PR again, we would try to book a room to stay at the property. The surrounding neighborhood is residential and full with well maintained private houses. Restaurants and minimart and large Walgreens are short walk away. The whole area is very pretty. On a way to a cruise we stood on more upscale Isla Verde and we like this area more.
- Michael (10/5): -
- David (4/5): Unfortunately not what we expected - Lovely Beach setting No drink facilities in room or throught the evening as guest service was only a person on night duty, bathroom fan going off all night and was told it was broken but the next day told it was a switch that we didnt use , also tv not working
- Joakim (10/5): Great location clean rooms and awesome staff!! - I liked all the staff! Authentic fun and helpful! The location was great and view of the sea! Great breakfast! There was no warm water in the shower which was cold. Abit noisy in the mornings. Abit expensive I think.
- Elena (10/5): Great hotel on the beach - It’s directly on the beach! They offer complimentary sun beads and have a restaurant on site.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. It’s inside the gated community so very safe and a short distance from the airport. We enjoyed our stay and would come back The bathroom door in our room didn’t close properly, leaving a gap
- Gurkiran (9/5): What you see is what you get and more! Lovely location, place, stay and amazing staff! Worth it! - What you see online is what you get! so rather than talking about how great the beach chairs and being on the beach is I wanted to share the additional amazing things I experienced which show how great this place and their staff is.
The staff are so naturally friend and super helpful and warm. I arrived on a day where I got some bad news from back home and I can imagine I was out of sorts but without even sharing this, I found the staff, in particular Helen and Oki were incredibly compassionate and thoughtful. They helped ease my check in and offered suggestions as to how I can spend my time in PR. The next day I was able to apologise if I came across direct and explained I had just received some bad news from home upon arriving and it was met with incredibly intuitive kindness like "Oh i'm sorry, we figured something must have happened". We had literally only just had met so this was incredibly attentive. I was given suggestions and support nearly everyday. They always greeted me with genuine warmth and welcome. Oki, even drove to a place for tacos as they were closing up and I mentioned I wanted to have that for dinner. It was wonderful! She also very quickly drove us to the best local empanadillas stall before the vendor closed up - we just made it and it was the last hour of my time in PR. A wonderful experience staying here! I will definitely come back. There isn't anything I didn't like, if I had to say something, I wish I had more lighting in my room to do my make up.
- Enzo (10/5): - Incredible property in an even better location, rooms were modern and beautiful ! The area around was so nice and the beach gorgeous. Most importantly the staff made the whole experience the next level! Super attentive and friendly! Can’t wait to be back cheers!
- Jesus (10/5): - Amazing stay. Great staff. Could not tell you which lady was nicer in the front desk.
Right on the beach. Great location. Would definitely come back.
- Jose (10/5): - The beach house is simply amazing. The convenient location makes it so much better. Right on the beach with its own private section of the beach. But what takes the crown is the absolutely amazing service by the staff. They were on top of everything. Elias and Naomi were amazing. They showed amazing hospitality and love to me and my wife. I would definitely recommend. Me and my wife were extremely pleased and plan on coming back again.
- Winnie (10/5): - Small and boutique style. You get amazing service because of that. Very private. Literally on the beach! Couldn’t get any closer!
- Yakelin (10/5): - The staff was amazing super friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect with lots of restaurants nearby and being on the beach was just perfection. Only thing I think the property needs are new linens and towels. Linen were a little rough and towels looked a little yellowish. I would still stay here and recommend to friends. Gracias!
- maggie (10/5): - Love the hotel. Super clean. Espectacular view of the beach. Music great. Lovely staff. Lll definitely have to get back.
- Karen (10/5): - Beautiful beach side retreat. Would stay again.
Room was clean and everyone was friendly
and helpful.
- Stephanie (10/5): - It had everything we needed at the beach house, food and drinks and mainly the beach access was perfect!
- Karina (10/5): - Great location and food was great as well
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): - Amazing property! Can't wait to stay here again!
- William (10/5): Memorable! - I love the location, staff and the beach. The beach has the right amount of people. Not to crowded and filled with beautiful people. The restaurant has good food as well. I had the burger which was delicious. My wife had the fish tacos and she loved them as well. The restaurant is right on the premises so you can eat there, the beach or even your room. The only complaint would have to be the parking. During the day when the beach is open parking is limited.
- Chloe (10/5): - Incredible spot! Perfect location on the beach.
- Gregory (10/5): - What a hidden gem!! The place and location are beautiful. The staff are amazing. They were the best part. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. You will love it
- cameron (9/5): -
- Giri (10/5): - La amabilidad y la ubicación
- Ada (10/5): - This is a beautiful property. It’s on the beach. Staff is very friendly. Will definitely be back.
- Edwamel (10/5): - Excellence experience and the spot is amazing!
- Alexander (10/5): - Property was exelente
- Julio (10/5): - Terrific place. Will come back!
- Jared (10/5): - The staff was super friendly, the beach view was amazing. shower water can get all over the restroom floor since there is no shower door. other than that, the room was super comfy.
- Melanie (10/5): - The rom was comfortable, clean and spacious! The staff was outstanding and felt like family. Would definitely stay here again!
- marianelap160 (2/5): Not Worth It – Rude Waitress and Terrible Service - Terrible service. I’ve been to this place many times, and even though I’m always willing to meet their minimum consumption requirements, this time the waitress gave me a hard time just to use the restroom. She made it unnecessarily complicated, even asking for a credit card with a $100 hold — completely absurd. It’s unbelievable that in a beachside location where there are few other options, customers are treated this way. The waitresses seem to forget that their income depends on the very people who choose to come in. Very disappointing.
- Dustin (10/5): - I loved the secured and private property. The views and ability to walk right out to the beach were amazing! I will definitely stay again next time in San Juan
- Albert (10/5): - Beautiful beach house with attentive and friendly staff. Would definitely come again!
- Matthew (10/5): - Absolutely amazing place. Will make this an annual trip!
- Julianne (10/5): Comfortable, good sleep, adults couples, boho vibes. - Small property, clean, has everything you need- close to the airport, on property restaurant as well as walkable restaurants, small shop with sun screen, open beautiful beach, chairs and umbrella set up provided. Everything you need! The vibe is boho- comfortable and trendy. We will stay again! Bring some snackies for the street kitties! They don’t bother you! I liked everything!
- Kimberlyn (10/5): - Great staff! Great food! Great time!
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional - Hotel was really clean, well run, bed and room was comfy, the beach was gorgeous and chill. So happy with our stay. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to all of the wonderful workers who took amazing care of us. Beach lounge chairs and umbrellas included for guests.
- Brittany (10/5): - My go to place when I visit Puerto Rico. I adore the area and the staff are incredible. Only issue was a charge that I was able to fix but that didn’t ruin the experience. I will book again and again! Thank you for another amazing stay!
- Krista (10/5): - Great spot. Very welcoming, close to restaurants . Comfortable and convenient.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Such a great location staff was very friendly and tentative. I will definitely stay here again. The bartenders Victor and Ramon are valued employees. They made my stay a lot of fun and enjoyable.
- Jenny (10/5): - We loved the beachfront vibe, feels more like if you are staying in a private house than in a big hotel.
- nullo78 (4/5): Such a hostile attitute! - Not a friendly atmosphere. :( I live nearby and once in a while I go to Ocean Park Beach for some kite surfing or a swim. I decided to give a try to the bar of Numero Uno hotel since I know they have a kite surfing school and often I run across their students and instructors. Sunday, 5pm, the bar and the tables were empty. I sit at the bar, I asked for a pinacolada, the machine is churning it in front of me. I get asked politely to get a bracelet. So I go and talk to the hostess as they asked me to do and she's like: $30 minimum with a $100 deposit to even sit at the bar. Lol, not even at the Vanderbilt, the Hilton, The San Juan I've ever been asked for these conditions! I was going to spend $30 for sure, and as it often happens, probably start a conversation with some of the other patrons and buy them a drink. But the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way, such hostile environment, that I just politely grabbed my beach bag and left. I am sure they don't need my business, I certainly don't need their attitude! Lol
- Reed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Loved our stay. Staff were amazing! Shout out to Meg at reception desk! Rooms a clean and a/c worked great. Beach was lovely, food and drinks were great. Our only “complaint” would be the bright light that shined through the frosted glass door, we hung a beach towel over the door and that really helped. Overall a wonderful stay.
- Margaret (10/5): - This place is more bustling than I expected, because they also operate a beach restaurant, but we enjoyed ourselves and the staff were all very nice and helpful.
- Guido (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (6/5): Not a place for middle age or older. Music was awful with thumping base all day - Beach was superb, engaged staff, easy free parking. Good location. More restaurants within walking distance. Power went out for much of the island but their generator was perfect. Beach staff with umbrellas and chaise or chairs was wonderful. Good service for food and drink at beach. Obnoxious music much of the day. Too loud. Couldn’t hear the waves.
Food was decent. Maybe overpriced. Coffee was awful at $5 per cup and $5 for refills!
Small room was adequate toiletries were poor. Shower gel is disgusting.
- Riccardo (9/5): Great beachfront stay - Our stay was short but this location made it beautiful. Just waking up on the beach is a unique experience. The house makes it so that you don't have to worry about anything. The bar is open all day long for meals and drinks. The staff is very friendly and available.
There are small shops and bars nearby and a Walgreens for most things you might need. Uber to the old town takes around 10 minutes and the SJU airport is around 15 minutes away.
They allowed us to store the bags on the arrival day before checking in and on the departure after check-out. Very nice if you want to visit the old town or just hang out on the beach.
The bar has a fair variety of meals and good drinks, including a good vegetarian selection. Room cleaning could be better. The beach towels provided by the building were not always very clean.
The food and drinks are a little expensive but I guess it's just the price you pay to have an ocean view.
- sofarnum100 (2/5): Don’t waste you time - This was a miserable experience. After a long day of traveling we called and were told no reservations as long as they had room we were welcome. Got there with our grandchildren and although there was an empty table they told us it was reserved and we might have an hour wait, but there were nice places we should go to instead. We had to walk several blocks with all our luggage. It was obvious they didn’t want us there. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant.
- Michelle (9/5): The stay was better than expected for an urban beach hotel, quiet & clean! - The staff were incredibly skilled, considerate, and attentive! The beach was gorgeous and guests are guaranteed two lounge chairs with umbrella every day, so no worrying about finding a seat! The rooms could have been a bit larger, but I know that’s not something that can be changed. Otherwise everything was great!
- Carolee (8/5): - Loved staying here right on the beach. My room was adorably decorated—simple but hip and nice. Bed comfy. The sun beds and umbrellas for guests were nice. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Bathroom was a bit tight. Coffee in the room or otherwise available for free would have been nice. Food and drinks are pricey. The beach gets a little loud and crowded, esp on the weekend, as it’s right next to a public entrance.
I arrived a couple of hours early and couldn’t check in which is fine, but they stored my luggage and gave me access to the restroom to change. However I would have had to pay $70 for a chair and umbrella and that was a discount!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay.
- Steve (9/5): A fun PR beach getaway - Beautiful beach and great location close to shops and good restaurants but the best part of this place is the staff! They are so friendly and helpful and many of them have worked there for a long time. We love the people there!
- Alexandria B (8/5): - Numero uno is a great place! Perfect location, helpful staff, right on the beach, walking distance to plenty of shopping and dining.
The property is clean with nice amenities. But there are some things that could use some TLC. Bathroom was small and odd water pressure/hot water issues.
- Kristina (10/5): - Loved this property! Loved the location!
- Ellen (10/5): - We had such excellent time here! The location is fantastic, we can’t wait to stay here again next time we are in San Juan!
- Margaret (10/5): My daughter and I went a little r&r and had such a great time at Numero Uno! - The staff went above and beyond our expectations! We had the best time! We had to come home.
- TheMattHood (10/5): First time visit - This restaurant is a gem. It’s a very laidback atmosphere, solid food, wonderful drinks, and good service. The view of the beach is great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan and looking for a laidback place to eat with a great view. You will not be disappointed.
- Joanne (10/5): Fantastic place - Amazing place. Wish we had time to stay longer. Such a nice team, room super comfy, location amazing. Would 100% return.
- Thomas (10/5): Meg was a great host! -
- Robert (10/5): - Nice place to relax.
- Shelby (8/5): - Our stay was amazing. The hotel is located on a beautiful, well maintained beach. From housekeeping to the restaurant to the concierge staff, everyone was bery friendly and accommodating. A big shoutout to Raphael, who gave us great tips for navigating San Juan and Ole San Juan.
- Caitlin (10/5): - Numero Uno far exceeded my expectations. The room was gorgeous and kept so clean. THE BED! I've legit never slept so well. I wanted to ask about the mattress, it's so comfortable. The view was perfect and the fact that we could walk right outside and have lounge chairs waiting for us was amazing. The food at the restaurant downstairs was definitely on the pricey side but every single thing we ordered was perfect (I'm not a big burger person but I ordered the burger 3x. Amazing!) overall it's just a beautiful convenient place to stay with incredible amenities and service.
- Susan (10/5): Relaxing time at the beach - Couldn’t ask for a better location - we enjoyed coffee on our balcony with a perfect view of the sand and water. The beach was clean and beautiful in this area. Staff was attentive and sweet. It takes a little while for things to happen - so just relax and enjoy island time.
- Susan (10/5): - Wonderful common space with ocean view, lovely beach with lounges and umbrella, inviting eating spaces, great food, and extremely helpful and genuinely friendly staff.
- pamfO8472GY (2/5): crass and unreliable employees. - if i could leave zero stars i would- the employees lack complete empathy for the people there. I saw the waitress deny a girl use of the bathroom when she was experiencing an emergency just because she was not staying there. This is a basic himan necessity and this girl deserved ti he treated with decency. Instead her emergency became an accident and she was HUMILIATED in front of everyone in the beach. I am NEVER staying here again.
- Lindsey (10/5): Perfect beach getaway! - Our main reason for choosing Numero Uno was that it is right on the beach, and it did not disappoint! The views are amazing, and when you step out of the hotel you are right on the beach! They make you a priority when you are a guest and we were very happy staying here. They have amazing food and drinks, which you can charge to your room and not have to worry about carrying money with you. The place is also super secure and we felt safe leaving our belongings in our room. Could not be happier with our stay!
- Emma (10/5): Perfect location on the beach near San Juan - Great location on the beach only 15 minutes from old San Juan, wonderful laid back hostel vibes, but with beautiful facilities, fabulous staff, so accommodating. Nothing! Only that we only stayed there one night.
