• Lauren (10/5): Fantastic hotel, in the perfect location, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast 10/10 stay. - Hotel is in a great, central location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything you need. A great little coffee station, clean bathroom with a nice selection of complimentary toiletries, smart TV, good wifi, comfortable bed. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. We selected a stay including breakfast, and it's a must! The service and the food are both 10/10. Could not have asked for a better stay. No parking nearby - there are plenty of car parks in Hertford, so it's not the worst thing, but we just needed to drop off our luggage and check in, which meant leaving the car in a loading bay for a few minutes.

• Paul (9/5): Comfortable and central - Large room - ours was disability friendly - with a lovely firm mattress allowing us a restful and comfy sleep. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. Hotel was right in the centre of town with overnight parking about 3 minutes away. If you want something central I would highly recommend. Lift to all floors. Nothing of note.

We'll presented and good quality ..the hash browns and French toast all home made.Great value for money. Rooms overlook the main street, with single pane windows was a noisy night with revellers shouting at each other. Some triple AAA glazed windows would sort this out.

In fairness in years we have been using Hertford House, we have been warned about it could be noisy, particularly at the weekend. This was certainly the case this past visit.

Rooms decent size and very clean Heating and air con hard to get right either was cold or way to hot. Also our room backed onto the outside fans which went on all night. No double glazing so was a noisy night. Facilities basic no fridge.

Restaurant and bar staff a pleasure to deal with. Check in really friendly, can't fault it. Room a little pokey. Some Viakal in the toilet wouldn't go amiss. Electronic shower a pain - would prefer a good old fashioned manual jobby. A little expensive for what it is...

Very good breakfast served by friendly staff. I was there for one night. Everything was fine, there was nothing to complain about.

Ci hanno dato camera direttamente sopra ingresso e locale festa. La festa e durata ben oltre ed alle 4 del mattino erano ancora tutti sotto ingresso a fare festa. Impossibile dormire. Mi chiedo visto che sapevi di questo disagio e rischio non potevate darci una camera lontana? Non abbiamo dormito.

• Julie (8/5): Would stay again but in a different room. - Big room with a comfortable bed . Large bathroom as it was a disabled access one with nice smelling toiletries and plenty of towels. Lovely meal in an attractive restaurant . Chips and fries particularly good. Loud hum from generator (?) And no view other than the grey machinery and a large canopy. Carpet needed cleaning but otherwise room clean.
• Christou (6/5): Very pleasant hotel but sadly let down due to lack of double or secondary glazing to reduce noise - The room was nice, spacious, clean and well presented. The mattress was relatively hard but the worst issue was the outside noise. The single glazed sash windows do not keep any noise out. As we were on the first floor on the street side we could clearly hear peoples conversations and worst still, the rubbish truck arrived very early morning and all you could hear for the best part of 30 mins was all the waste and glass being crushed!
