Guest Reviews
- Cinthya (8/5): - Property was okay, its a bit far from city centre
- Greg (8/5): - Clean, good location
- Eddy (8/5): - Precio y servicio muy bien.... Limpio, atentos y amables....
- Vera (6/5): - The rooms are open so you can hear everything. Their were bed bugs
- Maria Elizabeth (2/5): - Terrible
- Alejandro (4/5): - If you are looking for a very low-cost place to crash for the night, this is the place. It is not built as a hostel or hotel, it is a renovated property with rooms the size of a closet and the family ones in the upstairs are larger with their own bath, however the walls must be built with a very flimsy sheetrock because you can follow your neighbors' conversations and other unwanted noises.
- Thomas (8/5): Fine for backpackers but not if on holiday - Pros; Clean, well located, safe and cheap
Cons; the walls are so thin you can hear every noise so we didnt sleep well during our stay.
- Magnus (2/5): - The room was absolutely riddled with bedbugs and there’s no full walls, which means that there are open holes in the top of the very tiny rooms. This meant that we could hear everything everyone else was blasting on YouTube at 5:30 in the morning…!
- David (10/5): - Very clean.
- Shehzeen (6/5): Common room area majes sleeping hard in your room - Good place if you just want some very basic privacy, as in 4 walls and not a bunk bed. If they put you in a room next to the common area, getting a early night is impossible as the conversations in the common area are super loud and feel like they are right next to you ear. Everytime the long basin is used its loud enough to wake you up. Maybe just request a room towards the reception if you can. Other than the noise it was fine.
- mauricio (10/5): genial!
- Efrain (8/5): - Everything was ok that only thing people making noise after hours
- milosz (10/5): - very good, as for this price
- João Bosco (8/5): - Hostel muito limpo e bem cuidado!
- Thaís (10/5): Limpo e bem localizado - Super amei a hospedagem. Amei a decoração e a cozinha compartilhada.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A lot to improve - A lot of noise very early in the morning and the staff doesn't do anything. Cleaning is not great. Bathrooms next to dining space is terrible design.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed for 2 nights staff was wonderful, cleaning wasn't good. Bathroom was bit dirty, bed sheets were stained.
- Jean-Pierre (8/5): - Hostel with a nice outside terrace where smoking is allowed. Kitchen and rooms a bit small but clean. Near the Centro.
- Ernesto (8/5): - Traveled all over the Yucatan for a month, this hotel was the best bargain for the money. It was the best value for the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The private room is a good price, but there was minimal privacy due screens on top the the walls. It was good for airflow but made it difficult to sleep past 7am with everyone talking in the rooms next to you or in the kitchen. The hostel itself was clean but lacked silverware so consider bringing your own. Good location and chill atmosphere
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is very basic, a bed and a fan. Kitchen basic also with hardly any utensils or cups.
Main problem was the noise, you can hear every time someone opens or closes his room as the walls are paper thin and there's only a screen above the door
- Claudio (8/5): Good place - You get a private room with a single bed and a fan. No AC. The bathrooms are shared and far from the room.
Everything is clean. Good sheets and towels.
Noisy since rooms are separated by a wall that doesn't go all the way to the ceiling.
WIFI worked OK and the location was fine, a few minutes from the center.
Good staff.
I ended up extending.
No social vibe whatsoever.
- Marga (10/5): - It was great! Staff listen to comments, request. And they have fixed the noise between rooms by adding extra wall, so no there is more privacy, and practically no noise. It was Fantastic. I started with 2 nights, and I ended there for 10 days. And they have a kitchenette very well equipped. Very, very good.
- Zdenka (8/5): - Hostal Gayser was OK, we got tiny room, where was just bed and table.
- Verified traveler (8/5): eh - It was a decent place to stay the night. It was clean, but had kind of a grungy feel about it because of the lighting. AC was cold. I didn't try the pool or the restaurant/bar. The shower was scorching hot and the knob for cold water was broken. For the price, it's exactly what I expected. It's reasonably close to the airport and that's all that mattered to me.
- Christine (6/5): Ok for price and to get to Chichen Itza - Location is way off centre and on a remote residential street with no shops in sight. Unfortunately the town of Valladolid is run down, dilipidated, seems abit intimidating due to low tourist traffic and not alot to offer. Apart from catering to those visiting Chichen Itza, I probably wont stay in this town. Hostel Gaiser is simple no frills as is advertised, common areas and showers were well desgned and clean. Room was however not so clean, poor ventilation and walls so thin that every sound from other rooms could be heard!
- Lourdes J (10/5): Great Hostel - Good experience. Clean hostel. Good service
- QQ (8/5): Good for the price - We stayed in four hostels in Mexico trip. This one is the cheapest, but we would say the facilities are the best (except the noise).
Enough public showers with hot water and toilets (all others where we stayed didn't have warm enough water).
There is public Kichen and area.
There is internet but not very strong (but still good enough compared with our oh there experience).
Stuff speaks English.
Everything is pretty new and clean.
One bad thing is it is quite noisy. The "rooms" And the corridors are separated by some "boards" not really wall, and the up part is just net. So you can hear clearly anyboady talked in the corridor or even other rooms.
- Adam (8/5): - Pretty much everything you would want from a hostel, with one exception. You get your own private room with a towel and some soap/shampoo and the showers and toilets are all secluded and private. Everything is clean and the hostel is beautiful overall. Very cute common area. The only problem I had while I stayed there was the noise in the morning. You don't sleep in a room so much as cubicle with a bed and fan. There's about a foot of space between the top of your wall and the ceiling, so in the morning you can hear everyone going about there business. When I stayed there were people blasting music at 7am and slamming doors as the came back from the bathroom. It was a little offensive, but other than that I really loved my stay here.
- Jeffro (8/5): Great location. Very clean. - The apartments are private, but the walls don't reach the ceiling so not entirely so.
Overall a good experience. Couple blocks to downtown and close to the local cenote.
Recommended.
- Jacob (8/5): great hotel. Value for money. - Everything was perfect except for the noise during night time. Room was specious, clean and location was great, just few blocks from the beach and 5th avenue. Wifi works great and there was a fridge and safe in the room which is a big plus.
Theres probably a warehouse or a factory nearby and there was a noise of tracks during all nigh which was make it hard to sleep. bring a good ear plugs if you plan to sleep here. The maids are doing a great job and they are very creative with their towels.
- Sarah (6/5): New & Clean, But Can't Sleep! - This is a hard review to write because the Hostal is great in many ways - it's new, the staff are good, it's clean, a good price. BUT it's nearly impossible to sleep because of the noise and the way they have designed the rooms with openings at the ceilings. You can hear absolutely everything and earplugs don't help. I was unlucky when I stayed because the Hostal was full, there were people talking loudly until 1am & other's alarms going off at 5:30am. When can you sleep in this time? Overall sadly disappointing.
- Diana (10/5): - This is a relaxing place to stay in Valladolid. Only 10 minutes walking to the center and really close to a beautiful cenote. Impossible to meet people as everything is really separated and not much hang out space but would definitely stay again! The staff are really helpful and kind!
- Amy (10/5): Fantastico! - Probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, exceptionally clean- the room, showers and toilets were spotless. Good flow in the showers and the water was hot, not that you'd need it too hot. Just about a 10minute walk to the central square, the neighbourhood is nice, la oasis restaurant round the corner was great for food and beer. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Valladolid.
