Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Francis (10/5): - Really nice and clean single room, staff are very friendly and helpful. A very well-appointed hotel with great amenities and located within walking distance of the train station, shopping, and restaurants. They have a really good breakfast buffet as well. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Angie (4/5): - The carpet in the room and in the bathroom is so smelly
- ChurchofBillMurray (6/5): Average hotel with bad wifi - Nice enough hotel. IN downtown. Not super far from anything. And the staff were all pretty friendly. The interior was a little worn down but the rooms were all clean enough.
Unfortunately the wifi in the room was simply not good. Forget going to a website. I mean it was the kind of poor connection where sending an email with no attachments would take a while. Luckily they had decent service in the lobby but it's no excuse for wifi connections that bad.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tutto ok, posizione, servizi, polizia. Niente di cui lamentarsi
- 905ceciliat (8/5): Good location - It is quite a good place . All the staffs are very nice .it is easy to take the bus and easy to go to the memorial park
And ferry to Miyajima island. We bought the 1day pass for all bus and ferry Overall it is a hotel I ‘ll go back again
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Alexandra (6/5): Ok hotel, a bit old though. - The hotel was ok for our stay. Walls were very thin though, especially in the bathroom. If you were in the bathroom and the people next door had their bathroom door open, you could hear everything.
Staff were lovely, although you had to hand in your keys every time you left the hotel.
Breakfast was pretty bad. Coffee tasted like dirty water.
Lots of free stuff though in the lobby which was nice. Free miso soup sachets, green tea, toothbrushes, hair brushes etc.
Probobly wouldn't stay there again, but all in all, it wasn't too bad.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to a tram station, but actually not close enough to the ShinKanSen .The facilities look old for smoking room.
- Pinga123 (4/5): Would not book again - From the railway station, it's quite a walk (approx. 20min) to get to the Hiroshima Pacific Hotel (Hiroshima hasn't a subway system). However, the hotel is in close walking distance to Hiroshima Castle. The reception was friendly although the staff I encountered didn't speak any English. Instead, there was a card with different sentences (e.g. "Check-out time is at…" or "You've already paid in advance for your stay.") translated into English. The staff than put a finger on the respective sentence to communicate with English-speaking tourists. I've never seen that before but it worked effectively. Big plus was the fact that I could check-in two hour earlier than the official check-in time. Unfortunately, when arriving in my hotel room, I found it not to be clean at all: on the (new?) bed sheets were (pubic?) hairs, the same on the bathroom walls. Additionally, the bathroom was filthy (mold: not all the corners were cleaned very well) in a way that I didn't even dare to look more closely. Reading through the existing (mostly positive) comments here, I feel bad to tell about a different experience. I also wanted to justify it and therefore uploaded pictures of my room. As I was luckily only staying one night and as I wanted to jump right into sightseeing the city, I didn't ask for another room. Anyway, at least, the room had a fridge and complimentary and complimentary WiFi.
- DaffyT55 (8/5): Nothing fancy but very comfortable stay - The hotel is slightly old and dated, but regardless it was very clean, comfortable and just what you need for a couple days rest while you head out sightseeing. There are free toiletries, coffee and tea which you can pick up near reception. The room itself comes with kettle, TV, bathrobe and slippers. Nothing too fancy but definitely a nice comfortable stay. There is also a drinks vending machine on level 6 and the staff are really nice. They also were happy to store the luggages before and after checkout if requested.
Locationwise, the hotel is close to Hiroshima Station (about 10 min walk) and short walk to Hiroshima Castle, Shukkeien Garden, about 20 min walk to Hiroshima Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Dome. If walking is not your thing, there are bike sharing stations all over and you can easily reserve one in the office which is everywhere too.
- Manny (8/5): Friendly staff - Never been to Japan or Hiroshima. Booked two single rooms for one night as it was fairly close to Train Station and Hiroshima castle etc The staff were very very friendly. The room was quaint but comfortable. Coffee tea and miso soup packets and lots of other things available on the ground floor. It was pleasant stay. Paid for breakfast the following day Y1200 but the buffet provided didn't seem worth it. Some Western food like eggs and toast and youghurt and fruit but lots of Japanese food that I normally wouldn't eat for breakfast - like rice and stew etc. However the staff as usual were very nice.
The hotel doesn't have many frills like a pool or onsen or whatever - but great for a place to just put your stuff and explore the town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
Além disso, a localização é excelente e o preço convidativo.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- suecT5359NE (8/5): Nice place, good price - We chose The Hiroshima Pacific for location - we were able to walk from the train station, about a 15 minute walk. It was also walking distance to the Peace Park. The hotel was good, safe, clean, friendly staff. We used the coin-operated washing machine and dryer which worked out well for us. The hallway carpet was rather worn, but the room was nice.
- Ksmittyc (8/5): Good choice in Hiroshima - We spent four nights at the Hotel Pacific Hiroshima this past week. We arrived on the train just before midnight, and, with the help of kind strangers, were able to walk to the hotel in just over 15 minutes. The pleasant man at the reception desk spoke decent English, but advised us that he was the only person at the hotel who could and that he would by off duty for the next few days! Despite this, we had no trouble communicating simple questions to the other staff members and they were as pleasant and helpful as they could be. The room was quiet and small, but bigger than we expected, the bed was comfortable and there were two extra chairs, a small table and a desk. There was a fridge and kettle in the room and coffee, tea, and miso soup mix available downstairs, which was an added bonus. We were able to walk to most attractions within the city, and went to Miyajama Island from the Hiroshima train station. The only thing that we found negative about the location was the lack of relatively inexpensive (by Japan standards) places to eat nearby.
Other than that, we would recommend the Hiroshima Pacific Hotel highly
- Jin (8/5): Good location new experience - First capsuel experience and it was great. The bath was also nice and clean. I found the personal tv for each bed a nice touch. Wish the space was a bit longer for people taller than 170cm.
- Liam (8/5): Convenient Hotel - Very good hotel. Perfect location for Peacen park and links to Miyajima.
- Cole (8/5): Great location in a walkable city - The room is a bit tired and hasn't been updated in a while, but it is still acceptable. You can see that in maybe the 1980s it was a cutting edge room, but it hasn't been updated since then.
Small room by western standards, perfectly normal by Japanese standards. Everything worked, but be warned there is one plug for the whole room (i.e. my point about not updated for the era of cellphones)
- S (8/5): Convenient hotel close to the center of city - The room was not so spacious, but was clean and equipped everything I need. The wall might be a little thin as voices of guests staying at next room were heard slightly.
- Lydia2121 (6/5): Good value, short stay recommended but nice functioning rooms - This hotel cost me 6000 yen, £45 for the night this seems to be the general price per night a reasonable price for what we received. I wouldn't recommend a stay longer than a few days as it's kind of run down but if you want somewhere to stay on a budget I would highly recommend it.
Downstairs you could buy some items such as combs or shower hats but basic stuff like shampoo and conditioners were in the room. We stayed for one night to see Hiroshima and it was in a good location for local landmarks.
- mikekeirap (2/5): Awful - Stayed here for only one night, thank goodness to say the least. The "non-smoking" room we booked smelled like it used to be a smoking room and all they did to cover up the smell was an over powering perfume that would give anyone a migraine. The carpets were dirty and there was very visible black colored mold in multiple areas in the bathroom.
I am certain they washed the non-smoking sheets with the sheets from the smoking rooms because they distinctly smelled like an ash tray. Also they starched the sheets which made them very rough and uncomfortable. The pillows were literally like sleeping on hard bags of sand, as they were filled with rice.
I have stayed in some rougher countries (back country Peru), and was thoroughly grossed out by this place. Throughout several floors, the carpets are visibly stained (black from the walking areas, and spilled food?) I would have expected much higher quality- the photos on Expedia are extremely misleading. Save yourself the trouble and don't even consider this place.
- Lauren1873 (8/5): Two days in Hiroshima - Stayed here for two days whilst exploring Hiroshima. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. For two nights it was 12000 yen for my boyfriend and I to stay. The bedroom was tiny and quite dated but fit our nee perfectly and for the price we couldn't complain. The location was excellent too, really close to the centre of town and there were lots of little supermarkets and restaurants nearby. I had no complaints about this hotel. It's not luxury but it's price reflects that. Perfect stay for what we were after.
- Marciasiebers (6/5): Small room, but ok - It's not too far from the station. The staff was friendly (they didn't charge us when we woke up too late and even offered a free umbrella). The room is small and so is the bed (quite standard in Japan though), but it had everything we needed. It's at walking distance from the castle and the A-bomb site, so in that sense ideal.
- KengRK (8/5): Small room but Good location - 2 minutes walk from Street car station W2. You can walk to Atomic bomb (approx 20 minutes).
The room is quit small but clean.
In bathroom you will find face soap, body soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Hotel's staffs are friendly and helpful.
You can borrow hotel's umbrella in a raining day.
- indearchipel (6/5): Small room but sufficient - The room is very small, and so is the bed, but it is clean and quite complete including a small fridge. In the hallway there are vending machines for drinks, and there is a convenience store next door. 15 minutes walking to Hiroshima Station, 10 minutes to the city centre, and 20 minutes to the Peace Park.
- zeeteR002 (6/5): Great service, building is very old - The room is very standard in size for a japanese single room, however these ones are very old, but they are kept reasonably clean for their age. The service was amazing, and the young man at the desk was as helpful as he could be, going out of his way to find us an iteniary to fill our time in hiroshima. This made our stay worthwhile, especially for such a good price
- ArtistheP (6/5): decent hotel, ok location, good value - Decent hotel not too far from the station and the atomic bomb-sites. Early check inn was possible which was very comfortable. Wifi available in rooms with a special device, worked well. Room small but ok. Good value.
- TOkada (6/5): Convenient location - The room rate is rather good compared to other hotels by considering the location. The hotel is located within walking distance to Shintenchi, one of the main area for dining and shopping. Also it is about 5 minute walk to Hiroshima castle and Hiroshima Green Arena. The room itself is okay in size for single use and abundant in amenity. However, what annoyed me is the odour of the bathroom. The shower curtain smells quite badly and I saw stains on the mirror and basin. Although the room is not brand new, the odour and stains are not nice at all. In addition to this, the ventilation of the bathroom was not that nice. After taking a shower, it took quite a while until the humidity was got rid of. There are a couple of negatives, but the Front Office clerks were very friendly.
- rasika777 (10/5): Best Possible Facilities for a Reasonable Price - We booked a double room and it was the early May. The price was very reasonable and because of that, we booked this. According to the price, we didn't expect that pleasant condition and when we entered to the room, we were fascinated. We booked the room only. Therefore we didn't get food from there. But we had a spacious room, WiFi, attached bathroom with a bath tub and much more!
- K1758UZsusanm (10/5): Wonderful place - Lovely hotel, pleasant staff, reasonable prices, no problem to check out a little later than 10am. Great location, very close to castle and Japanese gardens, short walk to peace park. Highly recommend.
- carlitas (10/5): Lovely staff - took a chance and happy in Hiroshima! - We were unsure whether to book as there were no reviews here - it was initially for one night so we thought we'd take a chance and here we are! The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English too. We were very happy to receive a personal service as we have come from Kyoto, Hearton Hotel and Tokyo, Sunroute Shinkuku both of which were perfectly adequate but anonymous and soul less places. This hotel is somewhat dated and we like that - 70s feel and we are very comfortable in our room with free internet too. Instead of corporate decorations I was happy to see some drawings and artwork by a local artist in the little common area near reception. We got an absolute bargain from JapanIcan and have now managed to secure an extra night here in Hiroshima. We are happy to find such a friendly and homely place after a cool and efficient experience elsewhere in finer surrounds.
