Guest Reviews
- Argint (5/5): -
- Samuel (7/5): - Location was perfect
- Samuel (8/5): - Location was good for work It’s a little noisy, next door and road
- Lee (8/5): Great base for our weekend golf trip - We have used the property a few times now. It’s a great value modern house close to the town centre with parking Nothing to dislike really
- Chris (6/5): Fairly central so we walked into town a lot. The three storey house was hard work for our age - There was parking for our two cars
Four bedrooms worked well for us as a family
Kitchen has most of what we needed for preparing breakfast each morning House tucked tight in a dark corner at end of a small estate of similar properties . Street lamp outside not working. Area untidy and not very clean
It’s an upside down house , the heating was hit and miss, going off completely at 8pm the first night, however I emailed the company who reset the heating, which was remotely controlled
The beds were comfortable but the bedding was of poor quality. The headboards were peeling and need replacement really
- Paul (10/5): clean, tidy, 4 bedrooms at a great price, near to city centre - perfect! - Well located apartment, in a quiet corner of a cul-de-sac, a short walk from the City. Nothing too posh about this place, but clean, tidy and everything you need for a couple of nights for 4 friends to stay together in 4 separate rooms. Would recommend for anyone looking for a practical way to avoid chain hotels for a half the price!
- Stuart (9/5): Great property in excellent location -
- kerr (9/5): very comfortable -
- Lee (8/5): X3 golf trip with friends - Modern property. Parking outside. 4 separate bedrooms. Short walk into town. Comfortable beds. Nice communal area with tv . Kitchen well appointed . Outside of property needs some tlc. Kerb appeal wasn’t great. Looks unloved
Smell of damp on entering. Water staining on skirting boards in downstairs bathrooms suggest previous water damage.Found wood lice on bed in basement. (Have video if wanted )Some black spot mould in upstairs bathroom.
Probably due to internal bathrooms and lack of ventilation. Was ok after windows were opened for a couple of hours .
Complimentary coffee looked like it had been in the coffee jar years.
- Elaine (9/5): Pretty good. - The apartment is near to supermarket and bus stop, which makes it very convenient for daily life. It is well equipped with various devices, like in the kitchen and also in the bathroom. We can almost find everything we need here. The surroundings is quiet and clean, also there is clear instruction for the garbage sorting. We got very prompt response at any questions we have. Very excellent experience here.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Ron (3/5): The house was good. The check in process was a nightmare and it incurred extra costs that were not - Looking for a deposit after booking. Looking for passports very disruptive and was not highlighted at the time of booking.
- Carol (9/5): Very clean and equipped - Very spacious and comfortable Nothing
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Very ggod value for money and would recommend to others - Location was very central for the reasons we were staying in Carlisle for. Did not watch much TV but the picture on-screen was blurred so was only real negative.
- Janet (8/5): Great for a base - The living room area is lovely and on the whole very clean. Kitchen has everything you could need. Beds are comfy and bedding, duvets and throws are all good. Lovely fluffy towels. We did have to ask to put the heating on as the house felt very cold and ground floor rooms had a damp smell to them.
Both bathrooms need updating as shower cubicles are not the cleanest and you can see damp on the walls in them. Also both toilets need a couple of flushes to get rid of the toilet paper. The bathrooms really bring the property down.
- Luciano (7/5): Stay was fine and pleasant,. - Plenty of space and clean. No flexibility in offering a later check out.
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Coronado (8/5): Very good - Exactly as described.. nice + clean...
- David (8/5): Great location and a clean, spacious and well presented apartment. - Location, amount of room, ease of arrangement, facilities, cleanliness, presentation and comfort. Helpful team too Practically, nothing.
- Steve (8/5): 4 older gentlemen having a reunion. Slept fine , and walked the town / bitts park. Ideal for us - Rooms only. Comfortable , clean , large en suite double , good size twin and 2 singles over 2 floors with lounge and kitchen on floor 3. Interesting set up . 15 mins from town square / station , but Sainsbury’s round the corner and on a bus route so no problem. Didn’t have car with us but good base for touring Nothing
- Eileen (7/5): We enjoyed our trip but did not spend much time in the property - Very clean and spacious The location was unattractive. The single room on the middle floor did not have a bath towel.
- Simon (6/5): Location ok and won’t be using Velo apartments again - Location Very cold place and over priced with to many clauses involved . First of all kind when booking a four bedroom house having to pay extra for extra guest turning up and cameras watching you no privacy
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was very clean and very comfortable, nicely decorated. Comfy beds, great shower. Very warm, we were there over a very cold and icy weekend.
Full and helpful checkin/out instructions by email The weather was extremely cold, the accommodation was a good 15 mins to the centre, we walked past the castle which was stunning all lit up, it was just a fair distance in the cold. But probably a lovely stroll in the sunshine
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Shonna (8/5): Had everything we needed. Good Central location and free parking. - Good Central location.
The house everything you could need.
Would use again if visiting Carlisle.
- Eva (7/5): Weekend away - Great location, good parking facilities. Close to town centre so ideal to walk and dine in many great restaurants around. Can't fault the facilities, beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with plenty of utensils although we didnt cook anything. Definitely will be staying again, we had fantastic weekend away. Deposit for damages (which i thought was quite high) is taken prior to arrival but its not released back until 28 days which I think is quite a long time. U can ask for it to be paid after 14 days but need to request direct from Velo apartments by calling them.
- Nick (9/5): Very nice indeed - Spacious clean and tidy Bit of a walk to town centre but that’s being picky.
- Margaret (8/5): A great base for our weekend - The location was excellent- could walk into town. The living room/ kitchen a good social area. The double bed on the ground floor was comfortable. Plenty of warm water for showers. Excellent base for a group of young friends. I realise now I’m too old for a town house! Too many trips up and down stairs for me- my bedroom on ground and kitchen etc. on second floor
- Marie (7/5): Good - Close to attractions and city centre En-suite shower head needed securing. The bathrooms need updating & decorating. Some walls need painting. Did not like the notices saying things were not the cleaners job. Could have worded them different. Property very difficult to find. Directions need to state to take the turning down by the computer repair shop.
- Michael (6/5): Adequate - It was a great location & there was plenty of space in the house for all of us. The bathrooms need replacing. The property was very worn & tired & needs some TLC although the living room & kitchen were nice. A curtain pole fell out in the middle of the night & the windows & frames in the bedroom clearly had not been cleaned for a very long time.
- Lynsey (8/5): Great central apartment for group of friends - Spacious apartment, good location, away from hustle and bustle but still central.
Nice touch with shortbread & biscuits left.. Toilets flusher in en suite temperamental but kmown issue..
- Craig (7/5): Fab place, great location and perfect for a group of friends celebrating a big birthday. - The living space was perfect for a group of friends There was a smell of smoke in both the double rooms. Real shame that visitors clearly failed to follow the rules of no smoking in the apartment.
- Kirsty (10/5): Saw Mills - Everything 😊
- Andrea (1/5): Bad - We liked spending as much time as possible away from the property The en suite bathroom that leaked and smelled. The gravel area that was full of cig butts. The electric box cover that was held on with black tape. The £250 deposit. The upstairs toilet flush that stuck. The noise from the neighbours. The rules and regs in the back book. The instructions pinned up on the kitchen walls. Being told to use the toilet roll sparingly in the back book. The property was way below the standard we have come to expect from booking.com. it is dated and both bathrooms require a complete upgrade and need to be refitted. We didn't enjoy our stay at this property and would never book again. We could not relax and cut short our stay and left a day earlier than planned.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bateman (7/5): Good - Modern house, very clean, comfy beds, nice bright lounge area. Provision of a cafetiere was great. For a house that sleeps 6, having only 4 chairs at the dining table and 4 seats in the lounge was really inconvenient. Also it would be better to have proper curtains in the single rooms, rather than the awkward blackout blinds, a couple of chairs in the twin room for putting clothes on would be handy. Also a lack of corkscrew in the kitchen.
- Y3dean (9/5): Superb -
- Shaun (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (5/5): Passable -
- John (8/5): Very good - It was ideal place for what we needed. The place was clean and tidy. Beds are really comfortable
- Snodgrass (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stewart (6/5): excellent location and the room layout was very good and meted out families needs. - the location of the house was excellent for our purpose of visiting family close by and for local amenities. very good equipment in the kitchen. the paint on the stairs and in the bathrooms need a refresh as it’s stained and marked.
the double bed is extremely soft.
the electrics constantly tripped out so we would suggest an electrician looks into why this is happening.
tv needs to be bigger.
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - The situation was perfect for us. Close to relatives and to the town centre. The ouse was clean and all things catered for, even down to salt and vinegar for the fish and chips!!
- Edward (6/5): Pleasant -
- Darren (7/5): Good -
- Claire (10/5): We will definitely be back. - Very spacious, extremely clean and we had everything we needed. There wasn't anything we didn't like
- David (7/5): Good location and facilities, but not sure I would book again. - Good location. Good facilities Requirements to provide ID and the numerous terms and conditions to be complied with were not apparent on the booking.com listing.

- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional - Great townhouse for our group, clean, spacious and great location.
- Ann (9/5): A very clean and comfortable place to stay - Very clean and comfortable . Off road parking a bonus Would have liked some soap in the bathroom and more wine glasses!
- Rosa (7/5): Nice and spacious appartment - The place was big enough and confortable enough, sadly only one double bed was available and we were two couples traveling together, also would have been nice to get a later check out in weekends at 11 and not at 10 I did recieve a message on booking app to pay a deposit for cleaning, but it did not arrived it on my emai( the one comunication way I selected)l, so on the day of arrival I needed to call the host to find out on how to get tge code for the key lock, it was not straight foward to do tge deposit from the message in the booking app
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Odette (5/5): passable - Good location which is close to the Lake District as well as grocery stores the apartment had a smell of smoke which was really uncomfortable and made it difficult to go to sleep because the smell was quite strong, they tried to hide the smell with air fresheners but that just made a really odd smell. the bathrooms need updating, didn’t really feel comfortable washing or using the toilet as one of the toilets had a stain on the toilet seat. i wouldn’t return here in the future
- Samm (7/5): Comfortable and had everything we needed. - In the group we all got a private bedroom because there were four, and the kitchen living area were nice. The property was clean, including the bathrooms. The house is easy walk from Carlisle centre and train station, and to join up with the Hadrians wall footpath, and has very local supermarket /places to eat. The property could do with a little tlc in places, and the people in the adjoining house were noisy (it could be heard through the walls). The weather was hot so we kept Bedon windows open, and again there was a lot of noise from surrounding homes/roads etc.
