- rezasC5571UQ (6/5): Experiencing Day Of Silent ( Nyepi Day ) in Bali, at Amaris Hotel Teuku Umar, Denpasar - I chose this hotel because the location is very strategic and also there will be an Ogoh - Ogoh Parade in Jl Teuku Umar. When I came for room and hotel inspection, everything was so smooth, the security in charge was so nice ( too bad I forgot to ask his name ) He was very helpful, including when I checked in. Salsa, a reception girl was also very helpful when she showed me the room and facilities. While other hotels in Jl Teuku Umar did not treat me this way. Big appreciation to her. Then I followed up with further question and request, by WA, and it was so fast responded by Dewi Purnama. Thanks to her for noting down all my requests. When I checked in (Mar 28) everything still runs well, three girls in charged at reception desk were so nice. I also chose this hotel because when I ask about the Suhoor, it will be a room dining or buffet, and she said the suhoor will be a buffet. This is what I like, to avoid stay in room the whole day and night during Nyepi Day and also there will be various menu.
On 29 March, The Day Of Silent, I took my suhoor at Resto at 4.00. It was a buffet and quite good, only chicken porridge was so tasteless. ice lemon tea, infused water, tea and coffee are good. No juices and fruits slices.
The disaster starts to rise on the second day (29 Mar). They didn't bring my lunch as I requested ( the package incl daily bfast, - I request to convert this bfast in to suhoor and they agree,- 1 L and 1 D). Because I still fasting, I request a lunch box on 29 Mar to my room that I can eat it after breakfasting. 13.00 my lunch not come. I call FO regarding to this and they said, "OK I will tell restaurant to bring your lunch, Sir" 14.00 lunch still not coming, and again I called FO and again they said : OK, Sir, I will check to the resto. 14.30 my lunch came. The menu is quite good. I keep this lunch box as a bite when breakfasting later.
At 16.00, I came to FO and ask what time the dinner will be served ? The guy in charged in FO, Arta, informed me : "Dinner will be served from 18.00 until 20.00, Sir"
Ok, meaning I still have time to take a prayer, and breakfasting with a little bite from my lunch box ( even it was cold already )
This is the second disaster. I came down to the resto at 19.00, and when I am at the resto, they said " DINNER IS CLOSED". What the **CK. They said dinner is served until 18.00 due to limited access that day due to Nyepi Day. But they did not tell me this before, and why Arta told me dinner served until 20.00?? And how can I break my fasting?? Dark everywhere, totally dark. Should I eat the cold dish that I have taken half? (my lunch box) ? More over, I deserve to have 1 time dinner. Resto closed, everything is closed, all outside activities are not allowed. I was sooo very upset being treated like this. I was so mad and complaining to Arta. No excuses accepted.
Then a minute later they bring me a very simple fried rice with sunny side. Looks like they made it in rush. The fried rice quite tasteless.
The 3rd day, 30 March, they bring me suhoor to my room, Arta confirmed to me before, that the suhoor will be in room dining. I can accept this as long as they inform me before and clearly.
Overall, I like staying in this hotel and their hospitality, only two miscommunications destroy my stay. Some notes to the management :
1. Train your FO staff, since FO is the center of information for guests.
2. Put trash bin in bath room
3. There were a water in front of the lift in basement, makes me fell down.
4. Water comes in to the room from outside from window, when raining.
I can not say this hotel is recommended or not, I can only share this experience. For me, I will not comeback again to this hotel.

- Nur (4/5): Unbelievably Stinky Door Mat - Just location. Near my meeting venue. 1)As soon as I opened the door, stinky door mat inside the bathroom dominated the whole room. I asked for change, the staff brought non-stinky one but too dirty. The second replacement was still bad smell, but better. (Too tired to argue).
2) Internet connection was unstable. Always off after midnight, so I needed to reconnect.
3) Main course for breakfast was OK, but the fruit was so unfresh (except pisang mas/local banana).
4) Still many on my list but that's all for now. I like the hotel group (I like Santika, no complaint), but Amaris is off my list from now on.
5) With the rate I don't expect luxury, just standard and descent service (clean room, simple but healthy ingredient of food, etc.) Because I got the better service of other hotel with the same level & rate.

- BartosJr (6/5): A bit disappointed - Stayed during pandemic. The basement was closed, so u need to park your vehicle in front the lobby, which is quite hot. The lobby was small. The rooms was old, the wall start cracking. The twin beds only have 1 electric socket. The breakfast was just so so and served by the staff. Even they forgot to bring us the fruits.
I understand that its a 2 stars hotel, but i think the maintenance doesn’t good enough.

Conclusion:
Price in here is really budget hotel(around 325K/Day), but for me although is cheaper, we need to keep our quality as good hotel & keep everything Clean & good maintenance. I have many sample that the hotel is cheaper but the service is really good & the most important keep all the points under check on the radar.
So Please keep doing the improvement & I'm sure will have many customer will come later on.
I will see the progress if i come again to this hotel..

Magnetic key - hard to operate. Have to tap like more than 5 times before the door open.
Lift - not working the I have to use stairs (it's a no no for lazy gal like me)
TV remote - not working.
But again... it's a budget hotel. What you pay is what you get,

and they said please wait, will delivered for next 15 minutes, towels already downstairs, and I over just let me take by myself its so silly 3rd level hotel takes 15 minutes, then they said just wait a minutes

1. Located on teuku umar street, near sanglah hospital
Due to this i cant hv my rest (busy street: car sound, some use muffler enhancer, horn, ect..)
2. Upon arrival (midnight), the front desk man very assisting and friendly
3. Small size room (budget typical) then i saw some cockroaches near the trash can
When i open it, omg its full with previous guest garbage
I clean it my self cuz i couldn't stand it
Then i go to the bath room, no towel prepared for me, I call front desk and they provide it immediately
(Start thinking do they prepare the room for me?, do they change the linen ? )
But its midnight so i cant do anything abt it and try to sleep, but due to noise i cant hv good sleep that i need for my meeting
4. 8am i stop by front desk and ask them to clean my room before i go, but when i return at lunch time (1pm)
My room still in same condition when i leave it totally untouchable
But i request to change to quiet room so i think its ok, im gonna change room anyway
They grant my request and assisting me on room transfer.
The room is facing the pool, but still not quiet enough for me
They do prepare the room this time thank God
5. The next day i manage to hv breakfast, hmm very limited variety and fairly taste
Again before i go, i tell the housekeeping and front desk to clean my room, i write a note to change my tv remote batery, change linen and towel (put it on bed with tip and their notification: "dear guest place this card if u wish to change bed sheet, linen and towel")
But when i return at 230 pm
My room still untouchable
I cant stand it then i shouted to them
Especially the housekeeping guy i told before
I ask them to clean it immediately and i waited them to do it
I never experience this before and amaris is santika group, one of the famous local hotel group
I cant believe it
Pls do improve on this
I definitely will not return
Ibis style teuku umar is nearby if u guys want same location ( not directly facing the road so its more quiet)
I dont know POP hotel but its also directly facing the road

- amazinggirls (2/5): bad food on new year eve - we booked this place for new year at meeting room. the food package is bad until we must bought other food from outside. they said they gave pool but no pool only meeting room. if need go to toilet must use lift to second floor. food is bad, the staff also no willijg to help. when we fisinihed dinner they also take away the food without permission even the food left so much and we are planning to bring back home. no recoomended this place
- wearehereat (8/5): Great budget hotel - Amaris seems to be the best of the local budget hotels. At least this one beats the Aston Denpasar by far.
Do not misunderstand it is not a luxury hotel but value for money is absolutely amazing.
You not always get what you pay for. Here definitely it is more you get.

the hotel obviously need some maintenance,
when i check in the door knob was broken and it took almost 1 hour to fix it.

When I enter the room the smell was not good spcially the bath room and the trash was not empty. Please check all the room before other guest come. And make smell good specially the bath room. Good value for money. Good wifi.

- BCY_12 (6/5): New and average - Perhaps due to my previous visit to bali was on my own holiday staying in 5 star resort so this time coming here for meetings and being arranged in this hotel, it already made me felt a bit disappointed due to i know solidly well that how is the standard of the Amaris chain group hotels
Anyway this hotel seem to be very new and the staff attitude are not bad though
The rest are generally ok as per Amaris standard but breakfast made me feel like 'eat because of hunger but not for the taste'
- safancap (6/5): Experience of booking and staying at Amaris Teuku Umar, Bali - I stayed at Amaris Teuku Umar on Sunday, 16 Nov until Tuesday, 18 Nov 2014 (3 days 2 nights) with my family. The place is located in Denpasar, Bali. Before I came to hotel, I had booked via phone to the hotel directly to Amaris Teuku Umar, and got special price Rp 300,000 / night with Santika Important Person (SIP) Card. When I checked in to hotel, the staff didn't noticed my booking, and I must pay Rp 320,000 / night. Since we were tired, I decided to stay at this hotel. Regardless of this hotel is the newest one at Kompas (Santika/Amaris) Group at Bali, I do hope that I will get the excellent service within this hotel, but in fact, my booking through my wife's name was not recorded. What's a pity. If I compared to other hotel at Bali after I stayed at Amaris Teuku Umar, I still can give credits to Amaris due to the hotel's clean water at toilet. Maybe because for the hotel is new, and in the middle of town (far from the beach), so the bath water was good to used. Overall, I can still recommend to use the hotel, with the effort of the hotel to increment the services at hotel's receptionist.
