• Jerca (10/5): A pleasant, quiet stay... - The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts very kind and considerate. The location is quite steep and the beach not so nice. But there are many wonderful beaches in the vicinity. And plenty good restaurants. We suggest to visit by car and Explorer the surroundings... There was nothing to not like. It's a nice little town with everything one needs.

• Marjolein (9/5): Hele fijne plek met lieve eigenaars! - De hartelijke ontvangst en vriendelijkheid van Christine en haar man. We kregen na de eerste nacht een kamer met uitzicht op zee en bergen, wat idd leuker was. Ook werd de kamer iedere dag schoon gemaakt, en was t geen probleem om bordjes en bestek te lenen. Er is weinig parkeerplek maar ook daarin werd meegedacht. Wat een fijne plek, centraal gelegen. Je moet wel rekening houden met de hoogteverschillen, want Galini ligt nu eenmaal tegen en heuvel aan. Helemaal niets. Aandachtspuntje is misschien de koelkast die een beetje herrie maakt als hij aanslaat, maar het is natuurlijk fijn dat er een koelkast is.

• Marie (9/5): Confort assuré, professionnalisme remarquable allié à beaucoup de gentillesse - En dépit des contraintes de stationnement dans Aghia Galini, les hôtes font tout pour faciliter le séjour : aide à la recherche d'emplacement de parking, bagages transportés dans les escaliers, petites attentions dans la chambre (extrêmement soignée) : café/thé/biscuits renouvelés chaque jour, linge changé régulièrement, fourniture du petit-déjeuner à la demande dans une courette végétalisée, conseils de visite par Christina, hôtesse vraiment charmante et prévenante. Οι οικοδεσπότες του Αύρα είναι ένα εξαιρετικό ζευγάρι το οποίο επιμελείται με αγάπη το χώρο του. Η άφιξη μας εξαιρετική! Μας έδωσαν τις κατάλληλες πληροφορίες για όλη την περιοχή της Αγίας Γαλήνης! Η καθαριότητα του δωματίου και των κοινόχρηστων χώρων ήταν άψογη. Η διακόσμηση των εσωτερικών και εξωτερικών χώρων δημιουργούσε την ζεστασιά και την οικειότητα του δικού σου σπιτιού! Ο ύπνος εξαιρετικός καθώς συνδυαζε την ησυχία και τη δροσιά από το αεράκι της θάλασσας! Σίγουρα στην επόμενη επίσκεψη μας στην Αγία Γαλήνη θα είναι η πρώτη και μοναδική μας επιλογή!!! Die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge nach Ost und West, das Zimmer ist ausreichend groß und sehr sauber, das Frühstück ist super lecker und ausreichend, den Rest durften wir uns als Lunchpaket einpacken und last but not least die Vermieter sind herzensgute Menschen, die alles mit sehr viel Hingabe und Liebe machen, hier wird Gastfreundschaft groß geschrieben!!!! • Jessica (9/5): Fantastico e rilassante - La struttura è appena fuori dall’area pedonale di Agia Galini, la camera in cui abbiamo soggiornato aveva una bellissima vista fronte mare, la proprietaria è gentilissima, la camera è spaziosa e i letti molto comodi. Ci è piaciuta moltissimo la posizione da cui a piedi potevi andare in spiaggia e nella zona pedonale del centro. Peccato per due cose: aria condiziona faceva davvero troppo freddo e la doccia era per noi troppo piccola avendo un bimbi di 3 anni da gestire. Per il resto tutto perfetto.

• Anastasios (10/5): Exceptional - SHORT: AVRA is great! Very clean & hospitable. Exquisite view to the Messara Bay. Within walking distance from the beach and the small local port - just keep in mind that Agia Galini is built on a rather steep hill. If you value peace, great view, cleanliness and hospitality at one of the best and cleanest seas of the planet, all at a very reasonable price, RUN to it. EXTENDED: This place is known to me as Christina's and Michalis's house! The owners are a lovely cretan couple, very polite and warm, always eager to help, their hospitality faithfull to the ancient greek PHILOXENIA. The view of the Messara bay from there is amazing! In fact, one of the fiew balcony views I'll always remember and for the likes of wich a single flight of stairs is a puny prize to pay. The lodging is new, very well maintained and exquisitely clean. The room was big enough to move freely. We wanted a 3-bed-room and to my daughter's delight we found a complementary smaller space for the third guest, instead of the usual 3 beds in the same room. Close enough (7' by foot) and through the traditional stepped street of Agia Galini, there is the port and quite a few great places (ranging from café to bistro and restaurant) that offer breakfast luncheon and super. There are also supermarkets and minimarkets within walking distance. Don't hesitate to drink tap water from there, it is safe and coming from the famous Kretan mountains. About 6' from the port or 8' from the lodging is the beach of Agia Galini - one of the cleanest seas of the Mediterranean, where a local wind blows against the waves, breaking them effectively. We had such a great time there, that it came naturaly to promisse visiting again Agia Galini and Christina's & Michalis's house, and SOON. Since Christina and Michalis thought of everything for us, I can't think of a thing I didn't like about the lodging. Even the descending and ascending roads of Agia Galini had their charm and beauty!

• Neil (9/5): Excellent value and standout for a 2* - Great effective and quiet Air Conditioning, quiet room, no guest noise. Breakfast great, clean, owners super friendly. There are stairs but the owners will carry your bags up them for you. Fridge will keep you awake, has to be unplugged at night. Parking is impossible, very narrow street and you need to be smart and patient to find a space. There are steep hills to navigate to get to the beach. The town itself is a bit limited. I stayed 3 nights but I think 2 would have been sufficient.

• Bart (9/5): Very nice place, nice location, nice owners, good price - The hosts were really nice and flexible, they really made us and our baby feel welcome. The hotel was a short walk from the beach and the city center, but also quite close to the main road, with plenty of parking space. Very good to explore the south of Crete from here! The bathroom could use an update, maybe change the shower curtain for a glass screen to keep it a bit more dry. Also the ambiance in the room would benefit from new warm LED lights instead of the white ones, but that's a general thing in Greece :)

The beds are extremely comfortable, so we managed to rest well after long days of exploring Crete. The barhroom is modern, clean, with both cold and hot water and it has a hair dryer too. Our hosts were kind, friendly and very helpful. They gave us advice on what to see at Agia Gallini and helped us with everything that we needed. The hotel is family run and it is obvious that Christina and her husband care about their guests and put a lof of effort so everyone is satisfied and enjoys their stay. Overall, our accommodation was beyond our expectations and we will gladly come back to Avra any time! Thank you for everything Christina, hope you and your husband are doing good! Everything was beyond our expectations, so nothing to complain about!

The room was clean and tidy with features such as slippers, cold beverages and fresh flowers. The morning breakfast was delicious with eggs and bacon, fruit, yogurt, nuts, honey and a large assortment of pastries and breads. I’d go back for the breakfast alone! We had a wonderful stay. It’s in the heart of Agia Galini with many tavernas nearby as well as a yoga studio and beach. This place is awesome!

• Petar (10/5): Everything was wonderfull - The hospitality is unmatched. Both Michael and Christina were amazing to us. We had a late bus to the city nearby where they went out of their way to pick us up free of charge by their own initiative. Cleanliness exceeded our expectations, towels, sheets and pillow cases were changed daily. Mini bar was always full and the prices were barely above the nearby grocery store's. Both of them got up at 2:30AM on our last day to take us to the city near the airports, because our flight was rescheduled to early morning and we didn't have a bus to take overt here. We would come back for sure and we will if we have a chance! :)

• Laura (10/5): Comfortable apartment, large private balcony, great wifi. - The apartment was absolutely great, better than expected. Sadly we only stayed one night. The appartment was very private with a large balcony and there was also a backyard with a bbq area. The apartment was well furnished, comfortable beds, good kitchen utensils and great wifi.

• Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Highly recommended. Room was super clean and comfortable. I also really appreciated the sliding mosquito net on the balcony. You can pay extra for a really good breakfast that includes home baked treats. You can really feel the love and care put into this place.
