Guest Reviews
- RAFAQAT (4/5): - Make the gust home more relexable
- Timmy (8/5): Third times a charm - Had to switch room two times because of bad noise isolation in the windom (too loud sounds coming in from the street) and a hole in the roof in the bathroom. Third room turned out well. Great service from the friendly staff though!
- septianrahmath (10/5): Exelence Service - Good service for all staff, and I remember the named staff Ms Reina giving me a good service when i stay in hotel and i really appreciate foe the service they do for me, my room was big, comfortable and clean too, Really worth to stay in here. Very nice 👍🏻
- Guest (2/5): - The staff owed me $1 during check in and promised to pay me later...but pay me nothing.
- Joseph (6/5): KL Stopover - No thrills cheap hotel, however staff are unwelcoming and we had mould in both of the rooms we booked.
- Rokiah (8/5): - Staff accomodating. Only your steps to the lobby, too high for us. Not recommended for handicap and aged guest.
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location. Hot water and good AC. Friendly staff. My door card didn't work, but they gave me a key. It was nice and economical place to stay. I'd stay there again.
- SIVAKUMAR (2/5): Avoid this hotel - I got carried away by the name of the hotel and also the photos on the website ! Considering the excellent location of the hotel, the apathy of the owners in maintenance & upkeep of this property is shocking. I strongly urge readers to AVOID this hotel inspite of the attractive price tag. Unless you have to stay compulsorily in Masjid Jamek, especially in the same location that the hotel is situated, I will certainly request the readers of this review to reconsider and hop on to other hotels in the vicinity without spending too much time looking at the photos on the site which are deceiving and in contrast to reality. I end this review without mentioning the poor wifi connectivity, depressed look of the rooms etc. so as not to waste time.
- Anurak (8/5): Excellent location & lovely front service - Great location, 3 minute walking distance from Masjid Jamek station. A lot of nearby restaurants and convenient stores. The front staff is very nice and helpful. I didn't expect much for the price I paid, but it turned out to be a pleasant stay at Hotel 1915.
- Adria (8/5): perfecta ubicacion - muy buena experiencia
- Peter (4/5): Awful - Had booked a superior double room but no window and small room. Bed took up most of the room. Dont know how 2 people could manage in the room. Room cleaned only if specifically requested. No jug to heat water for tea/coffee. No bed light. Had to get up to turn light off at wall. Good location close to MRT. Better value elsewhere at that price.
- Sook Yee (10/5): - Good!
- S (10/5): Good location - Good location. Near by MRT. Walking distance to Chinatown, Central Market, Merdeka Sq.
- Kirby (10/5): - You have friendly, helpful staff. We need that. And they are so willing to assist me.
- eviroel (8/5): Nice hotel for start in Kuala lumpur - Great staff, Nice to start your andventure in malaysia. Close to metro!
- Cody (2/5): Shocking Rooms!!! - Do you want to stay in a room that has the following characteristics?
- a shaking bed and mattress spring poking your back
- a removable toilet seat
- a non-adjustable water heater temperature – either too cool or hot
- a safety deposit box could not be used and you will be charged if really wanted to use it
- a room with window but the curtain could not be fully opened
I know this is a budget hotel but didn’t know it was this bad. Also, I had clearly stated requesting for a quiet room and made a call to the hotel and received a confirmation from Mr Heri, I was given a room facing the main road. The hotel was not fully booked.
On a positive note, the room was clean and no unpleasant smell. Air-con was cool but noisy. TVs had 5 channels of which 2 were local channels. In Malaysia, we have 7 free local channels. The only thing working perfectly was the main power supply as you could not use any card to switch on the power.
Also, I didn’t know why the hotel opened all the unoccupied rooms doors. A room deposit RM50 was required. I will not return for a second stay even complimentary. This was the fastest hotel that I checked out at 7am.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is small. Bed sheet and towel is not so clean. No hair dryer and kettle provided. However, location is very strategic.
- Kristina (6/5): No expectations - Location is fantastic. Right off the train. Very walkable area! Hotel was okay. Service slow, have to leave a 50 cash deposit, room had no window even though I selected room with window. Air con was noisy, water cooler only gave hot water. Room was fine, served it's purpose, nothing fantastic
- Yellie (6/5): great location but small room and not clean - bed sheet dirty, the floor dirty, The housekeeper not clean properly,
- Verified traveler (6/5): My experience - The hotel used to be much better around two years ago. Maybe because it was kind of new. but now it's run down, and I don't think they want to invest much in fixing all that is wrong the rooms, bathrooms, pest control etc... Also too expensive for what it is especially considering the neighbouring competition.
- Ahmad Suhaiman (10/5): - My stay was good . I do like this hotel . I wil be staying again this hotel next month on 28 Apr .
Staff is very friendly .. Keep it up !
- Naufal Akhir (4/5): Really bad in my experience. - I was booking for Delux Queen Bed but what i get is Delux but 2 single bed. And for the room really unacceptable for me. Wasting my money for pay the service.
- Pitt Kuan Wah (4/5): There are better ones around.. - Not worth staying there as the rooms are far less than those with similar pricing and I have never seen a fairly new kid on the block - less than 5 years old hotel to have been so ran down. Blame it on management neglect and support staff indifferent attitutde on housekeeping. Stay away from this hotel.
- popo (6/5): Nice but the room too small - Too small and not truely clean. Near by lrt, thus easy for tour city
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient and simple - Great location, let down a bit by a broken shower and a poor cleaning schedule. Staff were helpful and we enjoyed KL, however.
- Muhammad (8/5): - Small room.
- couple (2/5): Not worth your money better places to stay!!!!! - Rooms are so small, place smells, photos are deceiving avoid if you can, this place will ruin yr experience
- M (8/5): Top Budget Hotel - Mooi hotel en loop afstand van Chinatown,LRT treinstation en KL Menara Tower.
- Anna (6/5): Cleaniness is important - The room that i stay is not so good as the room was not clean. I can see the dust flying away while im opening the curtain. Also have spider web on top the cupboard. What is this service? Also my pillow and blanket case is dirty with some black stain. I hope the managment could managment ask their worker to take good care of the cleaniness of hotel properly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel. Nothing spectacular - It was overall a good hotel! Good decoration, good beds, clean. Don't expect a super awesome hotel, but it's pretty good, clean Nd comfortable. The staff was nice, just one guy kind of serious and rude, but the rest was awesome. Good for a short stay in Kuala Lumpur. Very good location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very close to LRT Masjid Jamek - The hotel is well managed and looks modern. Although room is not large, it is very clean. Nice experience for quick getaway
- Alan (2/5): Steer clear!! - Did not expect much as the rating was 3 1/2 star. The room was disgusting; floor and bathroom was not clean. Shower was broken. The lift broke down and the staircase was full of diy equipments and broken sofas. Had to ask more toilet roll and towels. We picked this hotel as it advertises itself by having a safe. The safes do not and have never worked. This was told to us when we asked to have a new room with a safe.
- Khairul Anuar (6/5): - Not bad hotel but very small room
- Suri (8/5): - It Was a great stay , clean room , modern and colonial look . 2 mins walk to LRT Station , guardian and mcdonald right across the street.
- TZZ (2/5): bad hotel. bad experience - Ive been asked to go to another hotel just after i entered my room and unpacked. the reason, no water and they have arranged another hotel for me.
I have no choice as i already made payment.
I wonder why they dont tell the truth before i made payment??
The new hotel is far, i have to walk and the best thing is, the other hotel is worse than this hotel even though i still pay the same amount.
I can smell something fishy here.
So i really dont recommend this hotel for u guys
- Nannapat (4/5): - Air condition not good not cold
- Richard Bourret Beauregar (4/5): Probably not the best choice - The room was rather small and the whole building didn't have water or our last day. The bathroom is only separated by a glass panel. If you are not travelling alone, be aware that the bathroom is not completely private. Also, the first night was extremely noisy.
- Tony (4/5): ill-equipped hotel but nice location - the hotel just provided me with a place to sleep and take showers. there were no slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, electric kettle. the TV set just showed blurred screen. the wall was tainted with moulds and the whole room is filled with a mouldy smell. though the location is good. it's close to the transit station and some major attractions
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget hotel with small rooms - The place is near to several places. Indian food is also available near the hotel. But the rooms are small and inconvenient. The bathroom is small too. I shifted to a different hotel next day.
- Mat (4/5): Economical, Convenient Location.. but noisy place - I wanted a room only for a night in KL and hence chose 1915 due to its proximity to Masjid Jamek station and Indian resraurants. While the room is quite small its neat and tidy and sufficient for a couple, especially if one intends to be out sight seeing most part of the day.
However, our experience was quite poor since the whole night we could sleep in peace because of the noise from the passing vehicles. Vehicles especially bikes are really very noisy in KL. May be it was a Friday night during the month of Ramadan so it people were out throught the night. But it you are choosing this hotel it might be better to ask for a room which is NOT facing the road. (avoid rooms without window as well as u may find it v stuffy).
Overall if u r looking for a economical, convenient location with good connectivity, Indian restaurants nearby just for night Hotel 1915 might be a decent option provided u r bothered by the traffic noise in the night or u get a non road facing room.
- Antz (6/5): You pay what you get - Good about the hotel:
Located near Chinatown, 711, foods stall are nearby. Cheap and you pay what you get.
Bad about the hotel:
The room is not sound proof. Whenever someone close the door, you will be awaken by the sound of the closing door. The hotel did not refill my packets of coffee despite I was staying there for 3 nights. The safe box was locked by previous customer and the hotel staff is unable to unlock the safe. The room is very small with limited TV channels. Is good for sleeping over night with low budget.
- Verified traveler (2/5): lousy - The shower heater knob were broken, dust bin were rust & corroded
No cattle for brewing coffee nor tea despite having some tea/coffee bags with some sugar.
JUST DON'T KNOW HOW HOTEL.COM DO THE RATTING OF THE HOTEL.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel 1915 - Make sure you get a room with a window otherwise it'll be very musty. Linen was a little stained but the staff we're very helpful and friendly.
- SUNG MIN (4/5): Lowest budget hotel - The location of the hotel is in the city centre but away from the most attractions.
The hotel doesn't have carpark as well as located the busiest area with big traffic congested area.
I booked superior double room but room is too small and AC is quite oldmand dirty that everyone can see the pile of dust on the aircondition.
There is no friger and bathroom is quite small and have to heat water by water heater
as well and there is no window. I can recommend this hotel if someone just sleep with lowest budget and nothing expect average quality.
- Josh (8/5): Hidden Gem in a Hectic Place - Enjoyed our stay. Staff was polite, but didn't say too much. Came to find out that the hotel is right on an incredibly busy street. Many drivers liked to get on this road and lay on their horns for minutes (literally) at a time. This didn't happen as often at night. I think our room had been a smoking room at some point - it had that kind of scent to it. Not overwhelming, but quite noticeable. 30-minute walk to the Petronas Towers.
- Rokiah (8/5): Lovely getaway. - I have a lovely stay. But I need to take some step up o the reception. Poor architectural planning.
- jared (8/5): great hotel close to train station - there is a train station right near the hotel so make sure you catch the train to it instead of walking from KL central like we did.
- Jackson (6/5): Good and comfortable but not great - Room was comfortable, clean and fresh but it is a bit small.
- Abdul hakim (8/5): Comfy - Good
- Marizzah (8/5): - Overall was great. It will be better if the hotel could provide the guests with an iron.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Lobby, Small Rooms, Close to MRT - Nice lobby and staff to welcome you into the hotel. Once you're on your own floor the cracks begin to show. We checked into the first floor and were given a nice room but the sheets were stained, towels torn and the floor dirty. Also I would strongly advise not staying on the 1st floor as when we were there this constant beeping from the storage room kept us awake till we asked to change rooms.
From having been to KL and staying in similar establishments (with similar price points) I would recommend Hotel 1915 more due to the lack of decent choice in KL
- mohamed razi (10/5): Great stay in 1915 - its a great stay, relaxing, and close to amenities.
- Brett (8/5): Great location - Friendly staff, clean, tidy & safe rooms & prefect location for exploring KL, 5 mins walk to Chinatown & 15 mins to Bukit Bintang, good value for money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to stay in KL - Great hotel in a great location. We walked pretty much everywhere. The street may seem a bit loud but it never bothered us. And it's full of amazing Indian restaurants! We'd definitely come back.
- Chee Kin (6/5): Fair for money. - Budget hotel, what you pay & what you get.
- Jackson (6/5): it was just ok - The room without windows seems to be not as good. The card that was handed to us were not working at first. Only one card available and that's really troublesome if you are sharing room. Location was good as it was near the lrt station
- Joshua (6/5): Small room - Good for a short term stay or if you don't mind a very small room. Located close to LRT and near many places of interest. We just stayed one night.
- Erixtuff (6/5): Central - Usefully located one block from the Masjid Jamek MRT station
I asked reception to help me locate a local laundry, but they just Googled for one, rather than have actual knowledge. As it is, the place they noted on my map was the wrong street - so just Googled for myself and found a useful place a few minutes walk from the hotel: cross the road - down the alley - over the bridge. The laundry was really good and affordable at $5 per kilo.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very noisy! - Very very close to LRT station, just 1 min walk. The hotel was full of Indian smell, but its acceptable to me. The air condition is not very strong, but its cool enough if you have it some time. Hotel is very close to central market and China town. Only thing disappointing is its very noisy at night, there was a night club right next to it which play loud music at 3 am. I can hardly get into sleep.
- Haslina (4/5): water heater cannot be control, shower hose leakin - Less than 5min walk to Masjid Jamek. Love the hotel lobby. Unique. Esp. All the antiques. Good wifi network.
However, since the hotel is already 3 yrs as informed by couteous staffs, it's time for them to check on retrofitting, maintenance and wear & tear.
Was given room G03. Water heater temperature cannot be adjusted. Seems the adjustable knob is stuck. Had to tolerate it's very hot water therefor had to off heater. And shower pipe is leaking. Impossible to shower. Hence we use the WC water hose to shower. Tho they gave an option to change room we find it a hassle as we use the rrkm for merely 4-5hrs only to sleep as most of the visit we are out shopping.
Would return if only they do the changes.
- Verified traveler (8/5): reasonable comfortable - very comfortable and value for money
- Natsuko (8/5): Convenient, good location - Hotel staff is friendly, the room is not big enough but ok for 1 person.
- eian (8/5): Close to LRT station - i only stay for 1 night. I like stay here but i have one problem with the room size and the television in the room. Room siZe quite small and i surprise no tissue provided! But still comfortable. I have problem to select tv program where most of the channel can't be viewed. But overall i still recommend this hotel since it is very close to many places.(dataran merdeka, jln TAR)
- Jimmy (8/5): Good hotel with a great location in the city cente - I had a pleasant stay at 1915 Hotel. The location in the city center is really good. It is very easy to reach this place with the public transport.
- Ali (6/5): hotel - location very convenient.
- Kevin PF (6/5): Good location but tiny room - Be prepared for very small rooms. There is not enough room to open out your suitcase once you're inside. Wet toilet which means floor is wet after showering. Sliding bathroom door means minimal use of space. Dark walls very oppressive. But room appears clean. Very limited tv channels. However, good location for getting around on mrt since next to station and price is good.
- Harry (10/5): Excellent Value, in good location - Wonderful hotel, good internet, helpful staff and in a good location. Rooms are small but good value and everything else is excellent. Would definitely recommend.
- Mathew (8/5): Good budget hotel - Hotel is located v close to Masjid Jamek MRT and lots of Indian restaurants next to the hotel. KL Tower, Petronas Towers, Berjaya Times Square r less than 15 mins by cab. The hotel room is fine for one person or a couple. Nothiñg fancy and very basic. You get what you pay for. If you are going with your family you may choose a better hotel by paying more.
Must say that Ms Ruby at the reception was very helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The right price at the right distance, this hotel definitely foots the bill. I highly recommend this to people visiting Kuala Lumpur.
- Tee (6/5): Good location, great hospitality. - Ms Ruby (the front desk officer) is extremely helpful. Housekeeping team is courteous and helpful. Felt safe and secure staying in this Hotel for they have staff patrolling the building in addition to the CCTV surveillance. While they do not provide electric kettle in the room, they do provide mineral water dispenser dispensing both hot and cold water at every floor / level in their premises, which is very kind, generous and considerate gesture / service on the part of the Hotelier.
- Aileen (6/5): Ease of Transport - Located just 5mins away from Petalung street, next to LRT station makes travelling so easy and convenient. However, the tap and shower are not functioning well which was not favourable. The front desk staff and room service ladies were very friendly and efficient, had made us felt very assured that we were well taken care.
- lavoie (6/5): Nice hotel close of the center ,,, - Excellent quality-price ,,,,from this hotel in the center you can go evywhere ,,,close to métro,,bus station ,,and restaurants,,
- laala (10/5): Aesthetic unique design - I definitely love the overall design here, happy to stay and easy way to get around there with the shops.
- Suhaili (6/5): Nice hotel close to the LRT staion, masjid jamek. - It's ok for me. Nothing disappointing. Hotel security is ok.It's location is strategic.
- Nirmal (6/5): poor condition - Room was too small and only had the space to bed.
- Ross (8/5): Great location! - Hotel 1915 was very straightforward and easy to deal with once checked in. The location was strange to find using Google maps, but it was super accessible on the Masjid Jamek subway stop, which takes you everywhere in a jiffy! The rooms were clean and service was pleasant-- everything I would want. I would definitely recommend it to friends and would stay again!
- BOSS (8/5): located at city centre - very enjoyable , very quiet , due to very near to LRT station if want to go to interesting places can take LRT and the hotel provide personal rental transportation were very convinient for me if i want to go to Genting Highland, Cameron Highland or just around KL tours, so i think for the future i will consider to take this hotel for another family holiday
- Chris (8/5): Good location - For lovers of Indian food there are several good restaurants in the same street. It's very close to Masjid Jamek station, so travel to other parts of the city is easy and the young lady on reception is both charming and helpful. The room is very small, but as I really only needed somewhere to sleep it was fine, the bed was very comfortable. I have stayed here twice and will certainly return next time I'm in KL
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK value for money - The room was clean, could have been better but it was OK. Really small but it was to be expected. Quite close to west side sightseeing POIs and close to Chinatown. A walk to the Petronas towers is around 45 mins and not much to see on the way.
OK value for money.
- Phil (6/5): Centrally located in old indian district. Clean - No complaints. Hot water was a bit iffy but other wise near Markets and public transport. Staff were fine.
- Z.M (8/5): Great location and price - I was staying in this hotel to participate in the Energizer Night Race 2014 which was held 10 minutes away by walking from the hotel. Hotel is conveniently located within 1 minute walk from Masjid Jamek LRT Station. Fast food restaurants (Burger King and McDonald's) and 24-hour convenience store (7 Eleven) is also within 1 minute walk from the hotel. Price is great for a 3-star accommodation. Excellent if you're travelling without family.
- Alejandra (6/5): It's an Ok hotel - At check in, first thing, our hotel was already paid. So the lady at the reception wanted to charge us for an "early check in", we were one hour early. Anyway we went for lunch (not many options around there), came back and said she had to charge us now for an "upgrade". We told her we booked 2 rooms, one double and one with twins, she said she only had 2 double rooms so if we wanted one with twin beds that was an upgrade and we had to pay for it (exactly same room). She was very upset cause I told her that wasn't an upgrade, she said: "it's in here!" and handed me a paper with the hotel policies, I read it and it wasn't there so I kindly asked her to show me where it was, and she got very upset cause she couldn't find it. Anyway, except for the unwelcoming staff and their rudeness the hotel is exactly the same as in the pictures. The room was comfortable but a lot of noise coming from another room. If you can afford it, just stay in the Petronas area, is much nicer and there are lots of options of nice restaurants.
- cem (6/5): Very close to masjıd jamek lrt station - Close to lrt statıon but was very noisy. Good for 1-2 days staying.
- Dave (8/5): I'd stay again - I liked the high quality detsails of the mattress, bedding and all. I thought the room from the end of the bed to the wall with the big TV too close, about 30 centimeters, and then to have just 2 channels in English to view, why bother focusing the room on the TV screen. That said, it was in ggood repaire, the location is great and the staff did answer questions about local attractions well. I'd stay again, it is a decent place at a decent price and better thn other in this price range.
- a&a (4/5): would easily be improved with exhaust fans - Friendly staff, right around the corner from the office that issue visas for Myanmar, great Indian restaurants ... but ... rooms were super mouldy. You could see it and smell it. Hotel has a lot going for it and could easily be improved by putting in exhaust fans and investing in mould removal. It's a well designed hotel, close to public transport.
- Iru (8/5): Excellent location comfortable stay - Early check in requested but didn't happen
But I'll definitely come back
- HappyVirus (8/5): Nice stay and good location - Good come 1st - the room is tidy and neat, Friendly and helpful receptionist.
Bad behind - the floor in room was sticky and feel uncomfortable if without shoe wearing. The cabinet at the corner was dusty. The water heater at my shower room was malfunction and even the internet was poor in my room which totally can't online.
- Jach (8/5): Clean rooms, convenient location - Small but clean and well appointed rooms. Perfect for the budget traveller. 200m from the train station. Rooms weren't soundproof and no windows but very happy for the price paid.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great Location - The only good thing is the location of the Hotel, the rest are so so.
