- Robyn (10/5): Perfect long weekend away if you want to be in nature - This place is ideally situated in such a beautiful piece of nature. There are birds chirping, pigs walking around and most importantly - the resident dogs. It is the ideal break-away if you want to get out of the city and just have a peaceful experience surrounded by nature - perhaps a nice soak in the pool or a few long walks with your own doggy. Each chalet comes with its own braai area and fire pit - meaning you don't have to go far for your evening's entertainment. They even supply braai wood and bonfire logs at an additional charge (spoiler alert: VERY reasonably priced.) We were in Hornbill with our doggy and can comfortably say that the facilities and attention to detail well surpassed our expectations. The fenced off yard was more than large enough for our dog and made us feel comfortable about his safety, he also appreciated all the different sights and smells it had to offer. 10/10 would definitely go back again.

- VILJOEN (10/5): Brilliant!! - We had such a peaceful stay at Hornbill Cabin! The hosts were wonderful — friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect. They even cleaned the braai area daily, which was such a nice touch. The cabin was cozy, clean, and well-equipped, surrounded by beautiful trees and the sounds of nature. We loved that we could bring our dog along too! It’s private, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind for a few days. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway! Absolutely nothing. It exceeded our expectations/

- Pooe (10/5): Exceptional. - The location is great , but It was very cold and raining during our stay, but of course they couldn't do anything about it but they provided thick blankets in the closet and an electric blanket to stay warm. There is also a rechargeable lamp for when you have to go outside, ideal because it is pitch dark in the evenings since it's in the bushes. Owner is on site and reachable at all times and very helpful, he even recommended some great places to visit. Nothing, everything was great.

The cottage was quaint and had a very big comfortable bed with electric blankets, perfect for the very cold nights and early mornings. The patio and garden were lovely. The friendly resident dogs were delightful. The kitchen facilities were adequate. Please provide a soup ladle. Unfortunately the bathroom and toilet facilities were not up to standard. We stayed in the Hornbill chalet and the tap mixer above the basin was loose and the toilet blocked a few times and Yossi and his staff did their best to open up the sewerage line.

The dogs are friendly..we had our very own guard Oscar..who'd visit our chalet every now and again.☺️ Moreover, It’s not just Woodland "Gardens" it's garden of Eden with gorgeous plants and trees..the decorations etc. Enchanting👌🏽We enjoyed our stay🌻

I arrived late and unfortunately the booking was not yet showing on their side so in a way were not ready for me. But they really went out of their way to get me another different place that they owned that was ready and made sure I was comfortable. I liked everything

- Nicolene (10/5): 11 out of 10! - Everything. The staff were very friendly and informative and their customer service was an 11 out of 10. The place is stunning and comfortable. We will definitely be going back. I would just suggest maybe looking into a way to make it easier for guests to load and offload their vehicles, as the car park is not directly outside the Loerie chalet. Perhaps a golf cart that a staff member can operate to transport the luggage?

It was value for money, so there was nothing much to complain about. Just one complaint about the bed provided to baby wasn't that comfortable but understandable that it was surplus to requirement

- Dlamini (10/5): Woodland Lodge Birthday Get Away - Joe and Lorraine were very friendly to us. They even gave us an idea on where to get our last minute groceries on our way to the Lodge. We were told beforehand what we would need to bring with us for a comfortable stay at the lodge. They love dogs and we are also crazy about dogs so we found beautiful dogs in their property and they allowed our dog to interact it was such a beautiful scene! We had a wonderful stay there we liked everything and definitely we'll go back there in summer. I'd recommend the place to friends and family. It was my fiancé's birthday and he wished to have a quite celebration in a remote area he loved the place

The cottage and surroundings are beautiful and well kept, being greeted by all the doggies were my favorite 😍 I will definitely be coming back and have friends and family come as well. Lots of fun activities to do in the area.

- Govender (8/5): Woodlands garden pet friendly lodge - Very quiet and peaceful. My little dog was at home. Owner's dogs were friendly and did not invade our space. Joe the owner was very helpful. The bed in my unit was high and the mattress was bigger than the base.

The chalets were very clean as well and maintained well Not much really, everything was really nice. A shower would be a perk but the jacuzzi tub with handheld shower was also just fine.

- Colette (8/5): Very good - We went to recharge our batteries. And that is what we got. Woodlands Garden is provided peace, quiet and tranquility. Our 2-paw and 4-paw toddlers loved the freedom of running and exploring nature in an unobstructed manner. On the deck they provided firewood, which you paid for only if used. There were periods without electricity. However, given that that is the norm in South Africa these days, the situation is beyond the control of Woodland Garden. They do provide a battery operated light, as well as some hurricane lamps for such occasions. The water pressure tended to be a bit on the low side.

- Kelisha (5/5): Owners have no sense of customer service and it ruined our stay. - The chalet itself was fairly big and comfortable. Can see Magaliesberg mountains from the garden. The owners are never available for assistance. They said when entering please call for directions to chalet. We sat at the entrance for more than 10 minutes with no answer, by luck the gate was opened for someone else and we drove inside but still needed to wait for 20 minutes for someone to tell us where to go. I needed an iron and the gas to be refilled they literally read my messages and didn't respond, I ended up using my hair straightener to iron my clothes. Never answered calls and never was at reception. The flies are on another level just disgusting. They've chopped down a lot of trees, ruining the garden aesthetic. The pool was dirty and unusable.
