• Michael (7/5): Lovely character hotel in the centre of town with delightful staff - This is a lovely character hotel with all that entails.. historic photos, creaking staircase and olde world feel. But the staff are delightful and the lift works! Our room was a little dilapidated but fine really.. nice breakfasts (sort of Ignore the menu and ask what you want and they fix it!). The restaurant food is basic but fine pub food. Rooms are a little tired

• mikeddie1987 (10/5): Heart of the town - I have been coming here for years . This hotel is the heart of the town . The staff are brilliant and it is where you will find the locals - great talkers . While they recently lost Tom who was at the front and center to the business today I see them more dedicated to carry on their mission. Very helpful old style hospitality and a lot to be said for it . I see Toms chair at reception with his laptop - he has not gone far . He fought hard for his business and long may it continue as every town needs a good heart .

• Richard (10/5): My wife and I returned to this hotel for a week in May 2026, having fallen in love with the hotel during a shorter stay - The location is perfect. Easy walk to everything Clonakilty has to offer - museums, tours, shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, music, etc. Hotel is right in the heart of it all. Or if you prefer to stay in, the hotel has everything you need from breakfast in the morning thru lunch and dinner and a residents bar. The hotel has cozy reading nooks on each floor with so many books to choose from you’ll never run short of reading material. This is an old hotel with wonderful character. Family run by people who make you feel like family. The only thing we can say we were unhappy about is that we could not stay longer.

• Marion (10/5): Awesome!!Everything in message of what I liked - The hotel was so historic.Super friendly lady at counter.Our room was spacious with everything we needed.We we’re lucky that live music on a Tuesday was when we were there.Girls in Pub super friendly and accommodating.Reserved us a seat in pub.Supper super good.Recommendation from waitress suggesting a favourite dessert was over the top good!!! Live music by 11 musicians played different instruments.Was amazing!!! Wasn't anything to dislike!

• Tallulahula (10/5): Fantastic Stay In Clonakilty! - I loved my stay at O'Donovan's Hotel and can't give them enough praise! Everyone on staff there was so welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. I was in the Loft Apartment and I highly recommed it! It was beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable with lots of space and a great view overlooking the main street. The location is perfect for getting around anywhere in town. It was great to start the day with a delicious breakfast and be able to end the day in the cozy attached pub. Don't miss the traditional music session in the pub on Tuesday nights! They made me feel like a welcomed friend and I did not want to leave. I will definitely stay here again when I get the chance!

• Joseph (9/5): The venue was very good, but the breakfast service definitely influenced my overall impression - Very clean, warm welcome, good evening meal, very clean, comfortable and warm room The venue offers breakfast to residents and non residents. It is not clear what process residents should follow (there is a buffet service) but when I asked I was told to take a seat and I would be served. Service was not very prompt even though the breakfast room was not busy and the waitress was not overly hospitable. When the food was served, the food was of a good standard

Hotel itself not noisy even though we backed onto the lift. Can I find fault? No - the rain was pouring but thats hardly controllable. Will be back.
