Guest Reviews
- Deirdre (1/5): When we showed up, we learned that the Quality Inn had closed and a Best Western was in its place. No notification that -
- Arnab (2/5): - There is no hotel
- Reinhard (1/5): Bad -
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (2/5): - Said had pool. Pool was not able to be used
- Mark (8/5): You get what you pay for - Great Price Very dated property
- Donna (8/5): - Front desk person was great! It was being remodeled so many areas not accessible - pool, etc!
- Daewon (1/5): the worst experience ever - location was good very very poorly managed. bed bugs are everywhere, carpet is dirty
- Christina (6/5): Short and Sweet - Right on the river. Plenty of parking. Older, kinda grungy feeling. It cost extra to be on the river side of the hotel even though there were just four cars in the huge parking lot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The coffee pot still had a used coffee pod in it and the pool was closed the web site side it was open
- Jennie (2/5): - The workers were rude there were multiple problems with my room and they wouldn’t switch me the pool didn’t work or ice machine the toilet was broken and the fridge
- Risto (2/5): - It was already paid
And they did not let the guest get in
He waited tired for more than an hour because they said he needs to have a credit card in order to enter which didn’t make any sense because it was paid and booked through Expedia.
So I called and they said that I needed to fill out a credit authorization form and scan My ID and take a picture from my credit card which didn’t make any sense. The lady couldn’t send me an email for 15 min she didn’t know that there were other corporates emails and not only Gmail or yahoo. Not wasting my time again.
- Mary (4/5): It was okay - The location
The hotel was quiet
Bed was comfortable Smelled smoky and musty
Front desk not friendly seemed put off
- Joseph (8/5): Okay - Room was nice. Had 2 cockroachs in my room upon my arrival. They are now dead. Told front desk upon checking out.
- Janice (1/5): I shortened my stay because of the issues - The view of river Not clean, and staff not friendly
- Joseph (4/5): Good location, rough shape - This hotel was in a decent location but in bad shape. Dim lights, dirty carpet as you enter. The building stank of marijuana and cigarette smoke. Front desk service was good and we received access immediately. Room was in bad shape. Broken fixtures, unclean, awful smell. Pool was out of order and we just ate the cost and left to a nice place a little further away.Again front desk was pleasant and helpful. For a family, I would not recommend.
- IGOR (4/5): - Bed sheets not clean and full of hairs like someone already slept on it.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Robert (1/5): Won't be returning - Not much. The bites from the bed bugs not good. Room smelled. Overall halls were dreary
- nelson (6/5): - Room was a nice size. Bed was comfortable. Whirlpool tub was missing tiles and only half the jets seemed to work, water temp for the shower and tub was just over warm, hot was apparently not available. Light bulb for heat feature missing from bathroom. Room overall seemed a little worn. Breakfast was dry cereal, coffee, juice and a bowl of apples or yogurt. Waffles mix was empty. Indoor poor was under repair according to posted sign. Nice hotel and location, but needs some investment to bring back up to par.
- Lacey (1/5): Bad - the first room was dirty then moved to a new room and it looked ok then that one was dirty too
- Karen (9/5): Ive stayed here cew times will again lovd tge rivdr iew rooms - Love tge bslcony overlooking the river beautiful
- Kristy (1/5): Bad - The balcony was nice. The parking was easy. There were roaches in our room, we were moved into a non cleaned room, then moved again into a clean room. There were homeless people hanging around outside and in the halls and stairwells, very noisy. This appeared to be an unsafe place for my family to stay. We were refused a refund when requested.
- Mccormick (10/5): Exceptional - Easy to find N/a
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone was polite Gsrbage by optional entrance was a bit of an eye sore othdrwise happy
- S (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Overall clean and stay was comfortable. - Close to our destination and restaurants, grocery stores. Garbage, beer cans all over outside the back of the hotel by the lighthouse.
Weren’t cleaned up daily.
- Jeannine (6/5): - This hotel is very dated. It is located between a very nice looking Hampton Inn and Best Western. It looks old and run down on the outside compared to the other 2 hotels. They have a sign in the doorway saying they are renovating, but I didn’t see anything they were doing. The check in was slow but otherwise fine. The hallways were small, dark and old looking. The room was a good size and appeared clean but had a weird smell. At first it smelled like some sort of industrial cleaner but then rotated between wet dog, pot, and old aftershave. The curtain had brown stains all over it. The bathroom ceiling had obviously had a recent leak. The bathtub drain was rusted. There was no blow dryer in the room. The outlet by the bathroom sink didn’t work. They also advertised a continental breakfast but it was very limited. We ate in a cute little cafe in Owego instead. The room was definitely overpriced for what we got. We booked this hotel because it was family weekend at Binghamton Univ. and this was the closest we could get for 1 night with semi decent ratings. I wouldn’t be quick to book a room here again.
- Thomas (6/5): Uneven - Uneven: tiny bathroom, sink in the room instead with no place to hang towels there. Shampoo but no soap. Great view of the river, good beds, dingy hallways. Cable TV but non-working remote and no paper guide. Decent breakfast, limited choices. Expensive for what's offered. Will not go back.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (6/5): I would pass if possible - Was not what i expected, i reserved a king bed got two queens. The floors were dirty, the paint was coming off the door for the bathroom. Coffee was provided but no cups in the room. I have stayed in much better places for a lot better price.
- Samantha (10/5): - The place was awesome and exceeded our expectations
- Meg (8/5): - Convenient to my class reunion. Comfortable.
- Brian (1/5): Bad -
- Teerapong (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (10/5): - Our room was just as nice as any other place we've ever stayed. I picked this one because it had a pool & it was operating. Had a beautiful light house outback that I hope someday can be repaired (not in bad shape-needs some work) People friendly. Our room faced the river with sliding doors. Only thing I wish is if they had more food choices.
- Tracy (4/5): Disappointing - The only bright spot in this stay was the front desk clerk at check out. He was professional, friendly, and personable. The the total opposite of the young woman who checked me in. I did not like the way I was treated at check in. I did not like being hung up on by the front desk when I asked for a room change, I disliked the dim lighting, grungy carpets, and the toilet that was on a luggage cart next to the elevators.
- Rachel (6/5): - Pool was sketchy but the room was clean and decent for the price.
- Roger (8/5): - Good suites.
- Zhi Xiang (6/5): - Overall is ok but the breakfast is very limited
- Anil (8/5): - Two queen bed Suite was spacious and property was located in a convenient location.
- Joseph (4/5): - It was Dirty, there was trash the ice machine where you put your bucket. Vending machine for snacks was broken and the drink machine had four bottles of soda in it.
- Tami (8/5): - We got there around 8:30pm they let the kids use the pool until 9:00 which was great. Very easy check in and very helpful staff
- David (8/5): Very good - Breakfast & location were both good. Staff were competent, pleasant & helpful. Bed was comfortable. No complaints
- Stepan (3/5): Poor -
- Linda (5/5): Bang for your buck. Comfort beds. Great shower pressure -
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Plush beds, nice staff and located beside a scenic lake
- Robert (10/5): - Very comfortable beds
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (2/5): - Toilet wouldn’t flush. They did not have another room for me. I could not stay and took a room at the hotel next-door.
- Syed (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. Quite place. River running behind the hotel rooms. Neat and clean. No bread included in breakfast.
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Room had a nice porch with view of the river. Overall stay was good. Could use some updating. But overall was good.
- William (8/5): It was a nice stay. - It was quiet. The room was clean. The pool was nice. The breakfast was disappointing. There was a musky odor when walking in the halls. The toilet paper holder was broken off the wall. The cabinet door under the TV would not close over the refrigerator.
- John (5/5): I wish I didn't have to stay in any of them. - It was quiet. Workers across the hall were banging my door occasionally for about an hour, Room had wrappers and dirt behind the entertainment center. Handicap item for shower had a breath mint stuck to it. The bathroom sink was next to the room entry with no towel bar. The curtains were a pain in my ass to open/close.
- Celeste (8/5): - When I arrived I had to wait 15 min for someone to return to the front desk
- Caroline (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lori (8/5): - The room was clean, bathroom spacious, bed and pillows were comfortable. There could of been a little more lighting over the sink and mirror for applying makeup.
- Joseph (2/5): - Hair and stains all over the beds in multiple rooms
- John (4/5): Not a good place to stay if you like a clean hotel - Nothing Staff was not very friendly the elevator and hallways had a nasty odor and the elevator looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time the room was dirty bad housekeeping and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall other then that it was ok would not stay again. There are other hotels in the same spot and we found a room at the best western for the same price there and the hotel and room is kept very clean and no wallpaper peeling from the walls or nasty smell in the elevator or hallway and the elevator was spotless
- Keith (4/5): below par - the first room they gave us the air conditioner didn't work. They had to move us to another room.
The breakfast selection was the poorest in any hotel I stayed. All they had was stale cereal and waffle making syrup. There was no orange juice, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, bacon like you likely get at other hotel breakfasts.
- Mahoney (3/5): Disappointed - The price was okay. The staff was very pleasant. The place was dirty. Realized in the middle of the night that the air conditioner wasn't working properly even after we tried lowest temp, so we were hot and didn't sleep well 😭
- Candice (10/5): They were accommodating, friendly and efficient! Very nice people -
- Heather (6/5): - The lady at the front desk wasn't well trained. She simply said "name?!" when we approached. She did handle a request for a new shower curtain but didn't seem concerned. The halls were dirty. There wete beer cans and bottles all over outside. We found a very old apple core under our desk. The shower did not look clean. The beds actually creaked. The facility and everything in it looked very old.
- Tammy (4/5): - Bed size was great. Phone not working. Noise from something on and off thru the night. Curtains did not close and sheer blinds are see thru on the ground floor. Damage to the ceiling.
- Christopher (6/5): It was decent. - Breakfast was great, amazing location. There was a domestic abuse situation in the middle of the night twice. It kept my family awake.
- Bret (2/5): Beware - may be “pet friendly,” but rooms stink - First room smelt of cigarettes (which I cannot do). So much for smoke-free rooms. Front desk agreed to change rooms, but only 2 other pet friendly options both smelled heavily of urine. Again, notified the front and they said there’s nothing else they can do. We purchased and used a full bottle of Fabreze to try and help. Not a pleasant stay at all! Desk wouldn’t provide any other options since we have a small dog. They refunded the pet surcharge, but I’m still angry that that’s all they offered. Called their parent company, Choice Hotels, but they could not offer anything else since “the hotel already made an offer so our systems won’t allow us to do anything further.” If you have pets, avoid this hotel at all costs. Outside the room was a nice river view. Just wish we could have enjoyed it. This was by far the worst hotel stay we’ve ever experienced.
- remco (4/5): - Old dirty property.. desk lady was rude and demanding .. rooms are old and not the best cleaned.. beds are good but bedsheets were not super clean.. pool was closed .. balcony door could not be locked .. we i asked for another room i was told that there was one left if i did not take thatvone i was out of options.. breakfast uhh or what you wanne call it.. no bread , yogurt was out.. just a waffle if you could find someone to fill the batter.. this place is a dump.. no smoking but the motel smells bad.. i would say stay away..
- Tim (5/5): Ok - My husband and I both wanted raisin bran for breakfast and there was only enough for one of us, No one ever came to refill the container. We were checking in about 7:30 and there was no one at the front desk. We stood there for 10 to 15 min before someone came. I saw a telephone number and I called it twice ringing the front deck, but still no one.
- Jazzmin (2/5): - I had service dogs they treated me like crap and my dogs are registered
- Mary (4/5): - From the front door to corridors the place needed cleaning and an update. The rooms was okay; however, the bathroom was in need of a new toilet seat and the tub/shower were not welcoming. I had request a mobility accessible room and did not receive one. It was a very disappointing stay. One positive note: the woman ate the front desk gave us a great restaurant suggestion.
- Jen (4/5): Would not go back - The front desk girl was not very friendly or helpful. We had booked 3 rooms requesting to be together and on the ground floor. She took all my information first then the information for the other two rooms. She then asked for all my information again as she didn't save it. We were all put on the second floor and in two of the rooms the air conditioning didn't work. One of my friends went to the front desk and they said it happens and they'd reset the breakers as that sometimes helped. In the room I was in the air wouldn't come on at all. I called the front desk and luckily got a wonderful girl named Jessica who said she'd be right up to check. She also confirmed that sometimes resetting the breaker fixed the problem, but other times, it didn't. She offered to upgrade us to a different room at no additional cost. The new was on the ground floor and had a view of the river. The toilet made very strange sounds when flushed that lasted a few minutes, but it worked. Breakfast was sad to say the least. 3 wrinkled apples, some stale fruit loops, no bagels or toast, no muffins or other fruit. We went next door to McDonalds to eat.
- William (2/5): - The motel has several homeless families and they are destroying this once very nice property. We were greeted by homeless outside the motel. A couple of them came down for breakfast in their sleepwear. I noticed a room with clothes piled 4 ft high.
I will never stay there again!!!!
- Koganitsky (8/5): Very good - The room was big and nice. The swimming pool fair
- Montalvo (1/5): Awful stay - Nothing, it was an awful stay, Hated all of it. Room not clean, unkept.
- Linda (6/5): a good place to stay - I like the fact that it has an automatic opening front door which makes it easier to get In. That there is a clock in the room, It was pretty clean and the bed wasn't too hard. I was able to get the room that I needed. The price was also good. The ice machine has been broke for a long time ,the breakfast is pretty skimpy But I guess average for This type of lodging. The tiles in the lobby and a little bit beyond Are slippery for people with disabilities, t h e SINK. is not in the bathroom and there is no place to put your bath products
- Nickeya (8/5): - This place was clean, and the pool was great. Very convenient to have a supermarket right across the street and a few dining options for a quick bite. Great place to stay if you have a car to get around.
- Daniel (9/5): It was a good motel in a beautiful place. - Other reviewers said that some staff were not friendly and that the rooms were dirty. I did not find either to be the case. Some staff may be a little quiet - that's all. I liked everyone I met. The facility is in need of a facelift - some paint, especially. However, the things that count - the bed and the appliances - were great. I would definitely stay there again.
- Prateek (2/5): - One of the worst maintained property - dirty top over hangers, shower knob broken, bathroom toilet paper holder broken. Shortened stay by 1 day out of total 2 days.
- Dione (6/5): - The room was clean but a handicap room…. Why? I don’t know. The shower did not have a shelf to put soap/shampoo or a hook to hang towel. How does a real handicapped person deal wi that?? Then there wasn’t a blow dryer. The employees didn’t find one until we were checking out.
- FEI (8/5): - Not as clean as expected
- David (8/5): it was good - quit and comfortable the room was a little small, and to much furniture in it
- Lorraine (6/5): - The continental breakfast was a joke. Not even bread or bagles.
Very outdated. No counter space for clothes in the bathroom. Ice machine was out of order. Too much money for the shape of the place
- Jules (4/5): Terrible .. couldn’t sleep n didn’t shower in the am I left town n drove 12 hrs back home to shower - Customer service of the night n morning staff The both rooms were dirty even the ones we changed to
- John (4/5): - Very old property , small bathroom, sink was next to the door.
- Christine (2/5): - Leaking toilet, shower was leaking and the refrigerator was loud
- Christine (2/5): - Smell like cigarettes, broken toilet and toilet paper holder and a very loud refrigerator
- David (10/5): - Great value. Clean room. Friendly staff
- Richard (4/5): - Property is old. In disrepair. Lobby smelled musty.
- Malec (10/5): Owego Family Visit - We liked the staff and the breakfast to start the day. This was not the fault of the hotel. There were rowdy people in the next room.
- Michele (6/5): - Our room had a door going out to a back patio-river view! And the lighthouse was cool 😎
- Kim (8/5): - The night shift checkin desk was manned by a young black man who was attentive, courteous and professional. The only thing I was disappointed with was the room stank like cigarette smoke. But the guy apologized and assured us that they wouldn’t charge us $250 for cleaning, when we told him we don’t smoke and we booked a non-smoking room. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
- Jessica (2/5): - This place is absolutely horrible! I don’t even know where to begin.
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madison (7/5): Good -
- Shawn (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff, clean facilities easy location
- Latasha (4/5): Disappointing - Hot tub jets spit out dirt and grim.
Heater was so loud it was hard to sleep when it kicked on
- Williams (1/5): Bad experience, check the ratings. - Rude staff. Your treated like unless you order through their site, your not good enough for a good room unless you pay more(even though the price on booking.com is the same as if you reserved through their website.) The lady who checked us in never cracked a smile, stayed monotone and looked annoyed that we even came in. the room was really small. We won’t go back.
