• Jeannette (9/5): - À proximité et les restaurants aux alentours. De handae La chambre trop petite pour 2 lits à étage chambe pour une personne. Le matériel et la salle de bain devraient être rénovés. Vetuste les lits, les matelas, la salle de bain.

• Shirin (7/5): Bon emplacement, mauvaises odeurs - Super emplacement, à même pas 10 minutes (à pied) de la station Hongik. Univ. Il y a plein de restauration et café autour et quelques convince store. Il est aussi proche du quartier "nightlife" de Hongdae (15-20 minutes à pied). Il y avait plein de tâches partout, pour certaines sûrement dû à l'humidité. La chambre est aussi assez petite, heureusement je m'étais prise en chambre avec lit double pour avoir quelque chose de plus grand. La chambre était très humide, au point où j’aérais tous les jours la chambre pour faire partir l'odeur

• Tzuying (4/5): - The location is a bit far from Hongdae Station (it takes a little over 10 minutes on foot). The air conditioner filter seems unclean — there was a strong, unpleasant moldy smell throughout the room… I recommend bringing your own towels, as the cleanliness wasn’t very satisfying. 😥 Honestly, I wouldn’t consider staying here unless there were no other options available.

• Andreas (3/5): Poor - A cheap guesthouse in Hongdae is obviously no 4 star hotel, so the rooms were ok for the price, just because the location is great. Otherwise kinda old and smells moldy. The communication with the staff was terrible. We encountered two major problems — one was eventually resolved, but the more serious issue was more or less ignored. First, we were assigned the wrong room and had to wait quite a while for staff to appear and fix it. Unfortunately, when they finally arrived, they spoke hardly any English and no Korean, which made communication very difficult. Eventually, we did get the correct rooms, at least. The second issue was outrageous: the toilet in one of the rooms was clogged, and when I flushed, fecally contaminated water came up through the floor drain. This made the toilet unusable. I contacted the manager, but he literally ignored the issue and didn’t even offer an apology or compensation. Thankfully, we only had to stay one night.

• Ekaterina (9/5): Superb - It was a separate apartment with a roof balcony and a washing machine. There were a hair drier, a kitchen, a toilet in the apartment. It was on the 4th floor, but that's ok. I liked the staff, they were helpful and tried to explain and help. We didn't like to separate garbage. We were not used to it, so it was difficult. But we understand that it's a necessary thing.
• Clara (4/5): Disappointing - It's not a hostel vibe. I didn't see other travelers. I also didn't see hostel staff at all. They had just left the key for me. That also made me feel unsafe because there was nobody in the lobby. The rooms are old. The neighborhood is theoretically great, but the hostel is still a bit far from it.
• Phanthaneeya (8/5): Good for short stay and if you not require any assistance. - Good to have an elevator. The place located in the good distance. Surrounding by minimart, restaurant and cafe. Exhausted fan in the bathroom is not working well, low ventilation, the bathroom wet all the time and cause mold. Staff quite not responsive when we need the assistance. We are looking for the adaptor of Korean socket at the late night, they read our message but not answer anything. Until we solved problem by ourself.
• Sarah (6/5): Fair Enough :/ - Location (10 minute walk to Hongik University station, several busses around). Responsiveness on Kakao (they also use Line and WhatsApp) and considerate when we needed an early check-in and late check-out. Free washer and dryer, it even included a tub of powder detergent. Refills for towels, shampoo, soap, and toilet paper are out and available to grab as needed. There's an elevator. The community kitchen had the necessary basics (microwave, fridge, dishwasher, utensils, some pots and pans). Wifi and AC worked consistently. I slept well even though the bed was quite firm (definitely needed two pillows though). The streaming on the TV is actually a pay based system, like ₩1000 per show and up to ₩15000 for movies. And the TV was tiny and quiet. I like to watch things at night to wind down, so this was very disappointing. The bathroom had mold in the corners and at the base of the toilet when we arrived. The washer, though free, had a mildew smell. The room got muggy very easily if we turned the AC off (wish there had been a dehumidifier setting on the AC).
• Anthony (5/5): Passable - The location is fantastic. Close the energetic area of Hongdae, surrounded by restaurants and interesting street life. The property is a little run down. More importantly, the rooms are very tiny for more than one person. Two person twin rooms are sometimes two twin beds pushed together, making it more of a double bed than a real twin room, with space between beds. Rooms don't have much in terms of any hanger space or little tables or any space to store things. They are a bit smaller rooms than some other hostel spaces I have stayed at around this area. Decent value for the price, and a great location--but the twin room situation isn't quite as advertised. More of a double bed in very small space.

Bathroom looks clean but the sewage smell was really disappointing. - I like that the hostel has laundry facility with free detergent and clothes hanger to dry your clothes. Quite useful. Our bathroom has sewage smell. Bed was uncomfortable. It was 2 single bed that they put beside each other. We were quite busy and didn't choose to inform or request for a room change.

• Tchiyrutthina (7/5): Nice location in Hongdae - Flexible check-in and you have the possibility to arrive earlier if the room is available. If not, you can store your luggage there. The place was clean. You can eat and cook in the lobby. Also there is washing machine and dryer. Very nice restaurants and shops in a walking distance (Close to the red road). The staff was nice even though they were barely there. The room was too small for 3 persons. No dressing or space to put our luggage so it was complicated to walk in the room with our 3 luggages on the floor. It's OK for short trips with bagpacks but not with big luggage. Also no curtain that block the sun in the morning.

• Arne-kornel (7/5): Nice, simple hostel in Hongdae - You could use the laundry machine and the dryer for free. It is located in a quiet area close to Hongdae. Many convenience stores and restaurants in walking distance. Beds war a bit shaky. Bathroom was extremely small. Did not see any staff during the whole stay.

• Gaia (8/5): Very good - The hostel is clean and there is a kitchen with drinking water always available. The location in Hongdae is great, it’s a very lively neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shops around. The beds were a bit small.

• Jacqsl (9/5): A good hostel to stay with my students, they enjoyed there. Wonderful. - Very close to CU mart, coffee shops, restaurants, train stations and bus stops. I can heat ,cook the food and sit at the living room and watch tv. Washing machine and dryer also provided. The van cannot go drive near inside to the hostel, it’s a one way street. It’s only like less than a minute walk in.. should be no problem if the temperature not subzero Celsius. Waiting outside for the transport at 3am in the morning it’s really really cold.

Walking back to the property from subway isn’t really the best thing. - Check in and check out is easy and fast, convenient store is just opposite the property. The room is very old. Toilet is small either. Location isnt really near to subway station. Around 10 min walk to the subway. Maybe it’s winter and pushing heavy luggage from the subway to the property wasn’t easy. Room isn’t in nice fancy design. Bed is wobbly.
• Janice (9/5): Superb - Sunnyhill Hostel is very conveniently located (Hongik University Station Exit 2, a way we discovered to be nearer the hostel). There are local restaurants very near Sunnyhil Hostel that are cited as best in their specialties. The kitchen and dining area is nice. Although the hostel does not serve breakfast but there are many stores to buy basic breakfast items and cook it in the hostel's kitchen The overall place is new and clean. Fixtures are nice also. I love their christmas decors also. The owner and staff are very accommodating and helpful. None that I can think of.
• Mumaiako (8/5): Very good - The room is good for 4 and we were only 3 so it was good. The location is a around 3 blocks or so away from the subway station but its not that bad. I love that we can wash our clothes right away and I went back home with few dirty clothes. Having a lift is one of the major considerations in booking this hostel. I believed they used to free breakfast (toast, egg, coffee) but covid happened and they stopped doing it.

• Daniel (5/5): Was convenient for short use, but would not recommend for more than 2 or 3 nights. - It was at a central enough location for the price. Lots of food and coffee places nearby as well as in walking distance from most shopping areas. There was a communal area for food with utensils and dishes. Room was small, and distressed looking. The plug sockets for kettle, wifi, fridge and tv was a mess. after turning on the kettle the room wifi went down for 30 minutes. There was a loud humming noise, like an extractor fan, or something heavy vibrating, that kept coming on through the night, every 10 minutes or so. Loud enough to wake me and keep me awake all night. It was not consistent, sometimes the noise would come on and stop before I was ready to sleep, and others it would be on throughout the night until about 5 or 6am.

• Mzeva (1/5): Worst stay in Seoul and in all my trips abroad actually. - Location. This place would have scored higher if I had not had a bad experience/lack of human emotion from the owner toward the end of our stay. Upon preparing to check out in the early morning, several hours before official check out, and packing up, I received a shock through their plug sockets. I was electrocuted. I had to go to the emergency room to get checked out in case of any internal damage, as a result, I had to pay $$ for medical care and missed our planned and paid for excursion. And while I am still here to write this review, when I contacted the owner to let him know about the incident and that I left my suitcases in the room for the time being (as I told him the previous day that we would be checking out very early and asked where to leave the key card - to which I never actually received any response/acknowledgement). I told him I was in the emergency hospital because of his plug socket, as I guess they had some sort of faulty thing in it (which should not have been there). Anyway, I again received no acknowledgement or response from the owner, and was extremely disappointed with him and his lack of compassion. The booking platform just advised that no compensation was due, but my main concern was not even addressed by the booking platform or the owner...they haven't even assured me that the root problem has been looked at or taken seriously. The next person might not be so lucky and someone could die, and during all this, I received no human or empathic response from both parties. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing all round. shame on you. I would not recommend staying here. They need to remove that thing in the plug socket immediately (which looks like a socket cover when not in use actually), but it is not, after I returned to the hostel to collect my suitcases, on closer inspection, it looked more like someones plug converter had snapped off and left in the socket. It is very dangerous.
• Zhi (1/5): Bad - Very disappointed by the staff/owner, who were no where to be seen at 16:00 during the check-in hour. Self check-in procedure was not well explained. If they really wanted to save labour cost, they might as well get a robot. The bathroom was a real mess, with one single toilet-and-shower area, so the entire bathroom got wet (even the toilet roll). It's a 15 minute walk to the metro station. Beware if you have plenty of luggage

Small no thru lane you see opposite. The door outside has 3 lights.a popular live fish stall at the lane entrance. Is a selfservice hostel. Everything have to do yourself incl check-in, change towels, rubbish bins,etc. you can find all items at ground fl. Call or msg landlord on arrival and departure.check-in card can be find at lobby receiption desk All selfservices procedure and rule stick at the back of the room door in English and Korean, landlord only came when msg check-in to receive payment.but no briefing of any procedure. Stayed 4days, no clean-up. Toilet trush bin, towels need self changing and trush need to tie up and throw outside the environment protection disposable bin. Dirty towels must bring down to lobby to put it inside used towel plastic bag. Whatever msg to landlord ,answer is "yes",but no action. The landlord who collects my room payment is a Thai couple not the same couple on the Sunny Hill wedsite.
