Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): - Wonderful family! Our trip was primarily one to Sicily; our stay in Minori was supposed to be a decompression pit stop before going home, but it ended up being the highlight of the trip! Loved learning about the art lemon farming. N/A
- aga (9/5): -
- Marion (10/5): - Der Zitinengarten ist einfach wunderbar!! Das Zimmer ist sehr schön Es ist alles traumhaft! Das Zimmer hat keinen Fernseher
- Miha (10/5): I highly recommend it to everyone, cleanliness on a high level and a great location with a sea view. - Very friendly host and his dog. great apartment and breakfast.
- Harry Hulme (10/5): Peaceful, authentic escape in Minori with lemon grove views and warm, family-style hospitality - La Zagara is the perfect Amalfi Coast stay if you’re looking to escape the crowds while still being close to everything. Located in Minori, a quieter and more authentic town, it offers a peaceful retreat just a short ferry ride from all the major destinations along the coast.
The property itself is nestled about 300 steps up the hillside, surrounded by beautiful lemon groves, which adds to the charm and sense of seclusion.
What truly makes this place special, though, is the hospitality. Andrea and Salvatore welcome you like family, creating an atmosphere that feels warm, genuine, and personal. It’s one of the most authentic travel experiences I’ve had — more like staying in someone’s home than a typical hotel. The location is part of what makes it so special and secluded, though the stairs up (about 10 minutes) could be a bit challenging if you’re not used to them — a small trade-off for the peace and quiet.
- Kayla (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay here! - We loved our stay at Villa La Zagara during our honeymoon! Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean and lemon groves. Salvatore, Andrea, and Nilde were very warm and welcoming hosts, and we still talk about the croissants they made fresh each morning! They have created a little slice of heaven with outstanding hospitality. We hope to return someday! Not a true criticism, but be prepared for a steep walk up and down the stairs to and from town. We enjoyed it as a part of our authentic experience, but something to be aware of.
- ALFREDO (8/5): Ottimo soggiorno - Colazione base
Il giardino
- ann-louise (9/5): - This place is a true lemon-shaped gem! Salvatore, Andrea and Spot (the dog) makes you feel warmly welcomed, generously sharing their knowledge and love for what Amalfi has to offer. We really enjoyed our time there, the B&B and Minori itself are calm havens campared to the madness of Positano and Capri.
- Jacqueline (10/5): -
- Victor (10/5): - The hotel is very pleasant and comfortable. It's well-located and an excellent option for those who prefer not to stay at the upscale hotels on the coast. The service is excellent, with a constant focus on meeting guests' needs. Andrea, the staff member, is always attentive and ready to help and provide tips on tours, transportation, and dining. I highly recommend it!
- Mel (10/5): Simply a 1st Class Stay! From the moment we booked until the day we departed, this experience was unlike anything we hav - Everything Nothing
- William (10/5): Great - Very friendly staff and great room

- Sevak (10/5): - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a wonderful stay at Villa La Zagara on the Amalfi Coast. From the very beginning, Andrea was extremely kind, responsive, and helpful with all our questions. Communication was smooth and easy — he guided us on the best way to reach Minori, checked in on our arrival, and made us feel very welcome even before we got there.
The guesthouse itself is charming, clean, and well-located, surrounded by the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Our room was comfortable, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the hospitality made us feel at home. The combination of great communication, warm hosting, and the perfect setting made our stay truly memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast — thank you Andrea and Villa La Zagara! 🌿✨
- Talia Nur (10/5): Perfect! - The lovely family of Villa La Zagara was amazing! During our stay, we felt like this was our home in the Amalfi Coast. Dear Andrea, Salvatore, Nilde, and of course fluffy Spot, were always so helpful and kind. Every morning breakfast with homemade lemon jams under the lemon trees with nice talks with the whole family was so lovely! Our room and utilities were always clean and comfortable. From now on they are our new family in Minori! We will definitely come back again, maybe every year! :) Nothing
- Louis (10/5): - Great people running a great property. If you want a quiet enjoyable stay on the Amalfi coast this is a great choice.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great - Salvatore and Andrea were so helpful with organizing transfers and information about the area. The breakfast was lovely especially the homemade marmalades. Aswell the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Everything was perfect, be prepared for the steps from Minori.
- agata (9/5): -
- Volodina (10/5): 10 out of 10 stay! - We had an amazing stay in Villa La Zagara! Our room was amazing, we were treated as a family by our hosts. Our hosts, Andrea and Salvatore, shared with us great suggestions and insights about Amalfi coast! We would definitely come back to Minore and to Villa La Zagara again☺️ Nothing-it was perfect
- Michael (10/5): Memorable Stay - Andrea and family were the perfect hosts and we had a wonderful stay.
Villa LA Zagara is much more that a B&B. The personal and friendly approach go way beyond the norm.
Minori is a great base to explore the Amalfi Coast. Nothing
- Lisa (8/5): - We have just got back today. The family who run this business are lovely , helpful and very trustworthy. We have had a lovely week staying with them . Looked forward to our conversations over breakfast and learning more about the lemon tree’s in their grounds. Room was clean , bed comfy . Thank you 😀
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - A relaxing rustic stay in a lemon orchard! So serene & peaceful!
Breakfast was lovely & everything lemon!!
The hospitality of Salvatore, Nilde, Andreas & Sam was exceptional, nothing was a problem for them, even sorting a problem with the bus driver delivering us up the mountain!!
Many thanks😊 Nothing
- Turid (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice house in a charming lemon-garden.
The rooms are funcional and cosy, cleaned every day .
The breakfast was very good , served in the garden when weather is good !
The beautiful surrondings and the nice host family made it a lovely holiday ! Everything was suberb !
- Eve (9/5): A real gem en route to Ravella which is well worth a visit. And not too far up from restaurants, etc in Minori. - Wonderful setting actually in a lemon grove. Very peaceful and tranquil. Exceptional host who told us all about the history and explained some of the intricacies of growing lemons. There was nothing I didn’t like but to make it even better having a kettle provided as standard in the room and a better hairdryer would be bonuses.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good -
- Miroslava (10/5): Exceptional - A beautifull villa located on a hill above Minori surrounded by lemon orchard. Such an amazing experience, one of the nicest places we have seen n Italy. The hosts were so friendly and hospitable that we felt like visiting a family. They gave us a lot of useful advices and also took us on little agricultural detour within their property. Also, everyday we got a homemade lemon jam for breakfast with croissants. If coming back to this area we will definitely book again. Our room was smaller, close to breakfast area, but it had such a good atmosphere. Thank you! Nothing
- Melissa (10/5): Authentically Italian. - The property was beautiful! Hosts were so lovely always making sure we have everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, we were lucky enough to try their homemade lemon marmalade and lemon cake which was delicious! Spot the dog is the sweetest boy always there to greet us at the gate :) Nothing at all.
- Alicia (10/5): The best place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. - Very friendly hosts that made us feel welcome, like family. Beautiful & comfortable room with a view. Excellent breakfast. Peaceful location but close enough to walk to Minori town (& Ravello if it’s not too hot!) We will be back!!
- Karl (10/5): Great holiday - Very Friendly
Great Breakfast
Very clean Lots of steps to apartment but well worth it
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (9/5): My daughter and I fell in love with the Villa and Minori - The peace and tranquility at Villa la Zagara was wonderful and so relaxing Salvatore and family were exceptional hosts and nothing was too much trouble so I would certainly recommend staying here in Minori! There was nothing we didn’t love about the property but just be prepared for the steps!
- Daria (10/5): Wonderful place in the mountains - The most beautiful place and wonderful owners of the villa. We were delighted with the place, cleanliness, hospitality and a cute dog. We highly recommend visiting this hotel if you want a quiet and beautiful holiday. Special thanks to the owners for their kindness and warm welcome.
We already miss your villa.
With warm wishes Daria and Georgia from Stockholm🇸🇪
- Rina (10/5): We will come back!!!!!🫶🏻 - All. The room was excellent, the breakfast was complete and delicious, the swimming was very necessary (due to the hot weather) and clean. The attention of Salvatore, Nilde, Spot and Andrea was incredible, like home❤️
- Kristoffer (10/5): One of the most wonderfully unique travel experiences ever - Absolute unique location amidst lemon groves with breathtaking views over the Minori valley and the sea. The few rooms are located in a beautiful old building and the rooms are comfortable and clean (cleaning every day). But what makes Zagara really unique is the owners Nida and Salvatore and their son Andrea. The most lovely, helpful and happy people we have ever stayed with. We picked fresh tomatoes in the garden and got a trip in Salvatore’s vintage Fiat 500 convertible. One of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. It’s a bit of a climb from the town after a nice dinner. But no view without a climb and good to burn some calories in the original stairmaster 😊
- Cliona (10/5): Fantastic stay in Minori - loved it - Beautiful family run Villa, where you are welcomed & made to feel as part of the family who are so friendly & helpful. Andrea, Nilde & Salvetore are the perfect hosts & of course their dog Spot. Beautifully decorated spacious room & bathroom with powerful shower. You have a buffet breakfast outside in the lemon grove over looking the fabulous views of Minori with delicious homemade lemon marmalade - just fantastic. Parked car for free at the Villa which is rare in Amalfi coast as most places charge extra. So happy to have stayed here, authentic & quiet location. Book - you won’t regret it! We loved the location overlooking Minori & worked off our dinner on our way back to the villa, 15 minute walk up hill, just to bear in mind if mobility issues but could drive/taxi
- Hannah (10/5): The hosts and location made this accomodation magical, would definitely recommend. - Amazing hosts that were incredibly hospitable. Beautiful location central to minori. We loved having breakfast in the lemon groves. Room was comfy. Nothing
- Emma (10/5): A must stay on the Amalfi Coast 🍋 - We loved everything about our stay at La Zagara! The hosts are friendly, passionate and helpful; the location of the villa is stunning and the lemon garden is just wonderful. We would recommend the stay to anyone. We loved our Limoncello workshop; our daily snuggles with Spot the dog and having easy access to hikes such as The Lemon Path and the many steps to Ravello and neighbouring villages. The villa is a 10 minute walk to the ferry, which is a great way to explore other areas of the coast.
- Heather (10/5): Great location - Amazing hosts - We loved everything about La Zagara! As cliched as it sounds if we could give it 20 stars we would. Andrea and Salvatore (and Spot!) were the most delightful hosts of our entire trip. The property is on a little lemon farm, which Salvatore took time one morning to teach us about lemon growing and harvesting. I had intended to do the Amalfi Lemon Tour, but this was 100% better and it was just for four of us. We did a homemade limoncello tasting another morning and with breakfast had a traditional lemon salad. The breakfast was delightful as well, starting with espresso and a cappuccino, along with a fresh baked cornetto - with homemade jam. Each day Andrea would ask us if we'd like to try something local and it was always delicious. If we needed help with finding anything or local information they were more than helpful. The location turned out great as well. I'd been hoping to stay in Amalfi, but could not find a place that met our requirements and budget (we had a car as well to park). Staying in Minori was so much better, we did a day hike over to Amalfi and we were amazed at how busy and expensive it was. We had dinner (take out) one evening as well in the lemon grove with the amazing view one night as well, with Spot! I'd for sure recommend this place. Everything was amazing. There are quite a few stairs to reach the location, but we enjoyed that and if we'd wanted to there was a little shuttle bus we could take.
- Yvonne (10/5): Magical Minori, wonderful property! - It was awesome! A gem of authentic Italian charm is gorgeous Minori. Simply fantastic hosts who welcomed us like family. The room was beautiful, unique and charming with views to die for amidst the lemons. Andrea, Salvatore and their family were incredibly helpful and even hosted a surprise Pizza making party and lunch for the guests. You must go, but be aware of a few steps - they add to the charm! Beautiful walks from the apartment to Ravello, Atrani and The Lemon Walk. Absolutely nothing at all, simply the best! Thank you.
- Alena (9/5): Superb - We had an exceptional stay at this hotel, thanks to the incredible hospitality of our host who made us feel like family. They were attentive and promptly responded to all our requests, ensuring we had everything we needed.
The room was comfortable and very clean, providing ample space to relax, and the bed was cozy. Each morning, we were delighted by a great breakfast featuring freshly baked cornetto and delicious coffee, setting a perfect start to our day.
Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a warm and welcoming experience. Everything was just as described in the listing and other reviews. However, it's worth noting that the location is a bit far from the town center and requires taking steps to access. If you're unsure about managing the steps, you might want to consider other options.
- Scott (10/5): Like living in the historic countryside - It was a beautiful place to stay! Great breakfast served outdoors. True to the history of the Amalfi coast.
- Maikel (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great between all lemon trees. Safe parking spot and friendly dog
- Valeria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (9/5): Impressive views from a lovely accomodation - Salvatore and Nilda are the warmest hosts anyone could expect. We followed their suggestions and we got a lovely time there. Nilda’s homemade marmelades are the perfect match for the corneti they served (aming other things). The room is lovely, beautiful decorated and the view from the terrace is to die for. Even the dog is cute! The accomodation is uphill, we didn’t expect that when we booked the room. You may use internal stairs to go up and down to the city center, but make sure to ask Salvatore to call Alfonso (and his golf cart) to help you with your luggage when you arrive to Minori.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Very clean, safe, lovely views, room spotless, very quiet and peaceful, comfortable bed, good shower. Lovely breakfast with wonderful owners who were more than helpful to assist and extremely friendly and welcome. It was like a home away from home on the Amalfi coast.
- Uche (8/5): My Stay was wonderful - Almost everything about the Villa Movement to and from the villa. Taxis are expensive. I don't do pets and they have a dog. But they were nice to keep the dog away whenever I am outside
- James (9/5): Loved it. Felt very happy with our stay. - Owners were lovely!! Gorgeous setting!!! Very peaceful. The dog Spot was a bonus. Breakfast on the patio wonderful. Homemade marmalade. A very warm and hospitable couple. It is a trek to get to town with a lot of steps. However the reward is a very beautiful and peaceful setting.
- Csaba (10/5): This accommodation has a soul - La Zagara is not just accommodation, it has a soul.
In most online groups, Sorrento is recommended for exploring the Amalfi Coast, but if you want a nice, romantic place without the crowds, I wholeheartedly recommend the town of Minori and Villa La Zagara. The sea and the beach are only an 8-10 minute walk away. There are frequent boats to the surrounding destinations (Capri, Amalfi, Positano, etc.) and you can spend beautiful evenings in Minori. The accommodation is located in a quiet, magical lemon grove. Salvatore and Nilde are fantastic hosts. Salvatore came out to us so that we wouldn't have to walk with our luggage, helped us rent a scooter, explore the area, recommended small local restaurants and told us a lot about the city, its history, and everyday life.
As in all settlements along the coast, you have to climb stairs, but it is completely manageable and the experience is unparalleled.
We would love to come back. I am completely satisfied with everything
- Phoebe (10/5): Fantastic base to explore the Amalfi Coast. - We had such a fantastic stay at Villa La Zagara. The location is perfect - Minori is much more peaceful than Amalfi but has a selection of wonderful restaurants and it’s easy to catch the ferry to other towns or walk to the neighbouring Ravello and Maiori. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Fantastic views over Minori and the sea. The hotel is surrounded by lemon trees and having breakfast surrounded by them was very peaceful. We also had a terrace which had beautiful views and was great to read on. Salvatore was a fantastic host - he gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit, restaurants to try, regional dishes. He even drove us to a meal in his antique Fiat 500 which was very memorable! We would highly recommend Villa La Zagara! Worth being aware that you have to ascend quite a lot of steps to reach La Zagara from Minori. However, the views make it very worthwhile.
- Mark (10/5): Stay here for a special treat on the Almafi coast. A place away from the crowds yet close to the masses in Ravello. - Located just above Minori with a less than 1,300 step to Ravello this property is located in a Lemon orchard.
Our room was super quiet and clean with a great shower.
Breakfast served by Salvatore and Nilde each morning with the most delicious fresh squeezed juice you ever have on planet earth, along with yogurt, corriente, coffee and bread. We sat outside in the lemon orchard and enjoyed the morning sun.
Make sure you take the stairs to the convent at the top of the hill. A lovely hike without people. You’ll be rewarded with views of Minori and sister city Maori. We loved EVERYTHING
- Keith (10/5): This will always be a special & memorable place for my wife & me - Sal & Nilde were so accommodating and friendly. The setting was beautiful & peaceful along with the Sunrises & Sunsets, looking out at the Mediterranean Sea from above. This was our 40 wedding anniversary & Sal & Nilde gave us a surprise gift of champagne, glasses, and gardenia blossoms in our room when we returned from the village below. The room was tastefully decorated. We would return in a heart beat! Next time much longer. We even had a private place to park our car right on their property (free of charge). The lemon groves were picturesque along the property and Sal was so interesting answering any questions about their historical property, and groves. The food at the local restaurants and cafés down in the village were very enjoyable. The morning breakfast that Nilde & Sal made were delicious, along with their homemade lemon marmalade & a extra treat of their homemade authentic limoncello! We could go on about our enjoyable stay . . . But you have to experience it yourself. The pictures on their website are nice but simply can’t compare until you’re there. Thank you so much Sal & Nilde (& “spot”) who are now special friends. 🙂 (more photos to come) Nothing
- Rigersi (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed our stay. Nice hosts, Lovely views. Quite a hike to get there but worth it.
- Radmila (10/5): Great ! - Everything ! Stunning views, comfortable room, wonderful owners Nilde and Salvatore! And a cute dog Spot! Nothing
- Shawn (10/5): Our stay in LaZagars’s lemon garden is something we will never forget - The view from the terrace was wonderful as was the setting in a lemon garden. Salvatore & Nilda were excellent hosts. Our stay exceeded all our expectations. The breakfast was delicious and the special Sunday cake was a real treat. We were warmly welcomed and could not have had a better stay in the beautiful Amalfi coast. Grazie Salvatore & Nilda.
- Euan (10/5): Great stay - Stayed from 12th to 15th September. Owners are what makes this place so great. Couldn't of asked for better hosts (including spot the dog). Good breakfast. Good rooms which are cleaned daily with toiletries. Good view from the hotel. Lovely lemon garden.
- Fred (10/5): The setting and the hosts made for a wonderful experience . - The setting was beautiful and peaceful.
Salvatore and Nilda were so gracious and welcoming.
- Elene (10/5): Beautiful, pleasant and calm place to spend unforgettable time in Minori. - La Zagara is an amazing place to spend your time in the Amalfi coast. The hosts are very pleasant, intelligent, friendly and warm people. The place itself is so beautiful, with a garden full of lemon trees where they serve tasty breakfast. The room was very comfortable and clean and so was the bathroom.
The place is on the hill, there is an option of a small bus (that runs from the main cathedral, near the seafront, several times a day) as well as walking. From the sea and main cathedral it is around 15 minute walk, but uphill, with some stairs so when we were there, if we were lazy or tired, we would wait for the bus. Going down to the sea was very easy, max 10 minute walk.
Me and my husband had such a lovely time in La Zagara, we are grateful to the hosts, we had interesting talks in the morning and they shared so much information about Minori, Amalfi coast and surroundings. They had an amazing natural lemon joice, that I already miss.
We would definitely come back in the future. Everything was very good.
- Emma (10/5): Bella - We loved the friendliness from the most wonderful hosts. They really couldn't do enough for us. They were very accommodating. Secure parking, comfortable clean rooms, very good shower and to top it off a cosy breakfast under the lemon trees.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very beautiful you feel like home.
Everything was perfect 🥰
Spot rhe dog is sooo cute!
- Poppy (10/5): It was wonderful thanks to salvadore and his wife - Everything!!
- Suzanne (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Fantastic hosts. Made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.
- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thanos (9/5): Superb -
- Tetiana (9/5): Beatiful place with lemon garden - Amazing lemon garden, location - 5 min walk to Minori, 30 min climbing to Ravelli😅
Cosy room in local style, very welcoming hosts and friendly dog Spot👌🍋 Smell of lemon blossom and breakfast under lemons - you need to experience it. Climbing to Ravello😂
Well, be ready to sweat, but villa and view worth it
- Natasha (9/5): Superb - loved the setting among lemon trees and among the walking paths to hike between towns - we walked to Ravello, did the path of the lemons and also the path of the gods. the room was comfortable and breakfast was good. it was all great, though the cleaner was a bit rude, she threw away a bag of our snacks and was standing outside our room two mornings and putting pressure to come in and clean when we weren’t quite ready to leave for the day, which was a bit unnecessary and not so pleasant.
- T (9/5): Superb - Outstanding premises and wonderful, very friendly and interesting hosts. Beautiful Vietri-style decor everywhere in the building. Wonderful limonaia in the garden. Parking space a bit adventurous but safe and convenient. Good coffee in the morning! The little dog is super-friendly and lovely but would often wake us up in the middle of the night barking loudly, which was not so nice. The location is wonderful but if you don't use your car or a scooter you have to climb about 350 steps from downtown. Not a problem if you are in good shape, but not feasible for everyone. Lots of ants in the room.

- Rv (9/5): Superb - picturesque location and incredibly warm and friendly hosts plus the adorable dog Spot -
- Petr (10/5): Exceptional - Salvatore and his wife are very nice people. They gave us very useful informations and prepared nice breakfest. Mosquitoes, but it was after the rain, so maybe that's why there were a lot of them.
- Amiya (9/5): Superb - La Zagara was in a beautiful location overlooking the city with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We had a spacious room and bathroom. We were served a traditional italian breakfast every morning under the lemon trees. We got to connect with Salvatore and Nilde, who were wonderful hosts. The pool was a bonus and a great place to cool off after trecking up the stairs from town. It would be nice to have an electric tea kettle in the room.

- S (8/5): Very good - We loved the owners, who were so kind and humorous, and the dog Spot, even he tried to get inside of our room every night, which is not bad from our side (once he made it actually 😅). The room was cleaned every morning after breakfast. The climb was pretty hard but good exercise every day from Minori.
- Salvatore (8/5): Da ripetere - Accoglienza eccellente. Gentilezza e cortesia. Location suggestiva immersa nel verde ma non troppo distante dal centro e dalla spiaggia
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ottima la posizione in collina scomoda per salire, gestori cordiali e educati
