Rnoble77 (10/5): Exceptional base for any visit to North West Donegal - We stayed in Waterfront Hotel for 3 nights as the base for the annual trip away by our hiking group. We are almost all over 70 and require good hospitality on these trips. The Waterford was a great base for our hikes - Errigal, Arranmore Islnd, Glenveagh National Park etc. The service by all staff was exceptional - in particular the restaurant and bar staff. A special mention for Justin who was a great 'host' for some late night discussions! I would highly recommend Waterfont as a base when you are visiting this amazing corner of Ireland

johnstonmrdavidj (10/5): Superb hotel, superb location. - Great hotel in a great location, excellent, tasty food choices, fair prices, friendly and efficient staff and enviable views from the windows. A favourite spot of ours for food and also for a stay. Clean and comfortable bedroom with quality bed and modern shower room. A smaller room than our last stay but very much compensated by the sea view. Plenty of parking, blue badge parking to rear. For EV users there is a rapid ESB charger two minutes away at quay car park (need RFID as no signal on phone) and two more (EV Power) where phone does work up at Cope car park. Would like to see a couple of destination chargers at the hotel itself though.

Hotel has relaxing atmosphere with beautiful scenery and wonderful staff. - The Waterfront Hotel in Dungloe is the best hotel in Donegal in my opinion. The hotel is immaculate with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery. They serve food daily from breakfast to dinner and the food is delicious with so many choices to choose from. I have visited the hotel on many occasions and the staff always go above and beyond to cater for your every need. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much bother for them. The hotel is spotless and housekeeping are so accommodating should you require anything extra for your room. There is also a great fitness centre adjoining the hotel which you are free to use during your stay. I would highly recommend visiting The Waterfront, whether it is for a relaxing break or simply to pop in for their delicious meals which they serve daily, both lunch and dinner . The food is so fresh and tasty. The service is impeccable in all aspects of the hotel too. Thank you very much for looking after me so well, I look forward to my next visit.
576angt (8/5): Good to use to explore the area - The location was good, with some nice walking spots nearby and a nice view in Dungloe itself. The hotel is far enough off the road you dont hear much and still close enough to walk into town. We booked a deluxe room which came with a nice sea view and was fairly modern, although the carpet could do with replacing or deep cleaning and the shower was slow to drain. The room cleaning daily was thorough with replacement water, tea and biscuits. The resteraunt was ok with the food coming fast and friendly service, however the food was of a simply ok quality with better options a short drive or a walk away. The fitness center was a plus but we didnt use it. Overall a good spot with everything youd need to use as a base to explore the local area and sleep well at night.

marknP4042LC (4/5): Average food, poor value for money. - Ordered the baked cod and prawns, first impression was that they had given me a starter, but no , this was the main course. The cod offered was not much more than the size of a tail, with two prawns. The vegetables served, were also minimal, which would also describe the taste. Should you wish to change your vegetables for chips or other alternatives, there's a ADDITIONAL charge of €3, this is to change, not to have extra! Staff were good, attentive. But food was minimal, at €28 was poor value, left hungry.
MadMaire1 (10/5): Lovely stay in a stunning location - This is a beautiful hotel with stunning sea views. Our room was very nice. The staff were all very friendly. Great location as it's only a short walk to the main street which has plenty bars etc. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of it ! Would love to return sometime and would highly recommend.

From start to finish, everything was handled so smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of variety and beautifully presented – all of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. The staff were exceptional: friendly, attentive, and always on hand to help with anything we needed, which made the day feel relaxed and special. The setting itself is stunning, with a lovely atmosphere that made the occasion feel even more memorable. It was the perfect place to gather with family and friends. We’re so grateful to the team for making the day so special and would highly recommend the Waterfront for any celebration.

The receptionist (blonde hair) very welcoming and accommodating. Also Justin, very good humoured, always had a smile on his face. Hotel premises were spotless. Food delicious. lukec512 (10/5): Wonderful wedding venue - We had our wedding reception at the Waterfront in March 2026 and thought the experience right through from planning the event up until the day itself was exceptional. The staff in the Waterfront are warm, welcoming and professional and their support, advice and willingness to adapt to our wishes was very much appreciated. We had a large number of guests at our wedding and the Waterfront has a restaurant and lobby ideal for a large drinks reception with stunning views of the bay. The function room itself is spacious, well laid out and service at the meal was fast and efficient. The food here is always good, and on our wedding day it was no exception. The food options on the menu were varied and quality of food excellent. The bar staff are professional, observant and efficient and our guests were very happy with the experience. The rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. Overall, we are very happy we chose the Waterfront because it has everything- great location, lovely views, wonderful staff, great layout and a very competitive price package that gives great value for money.

louisegO9470PM (2/5): Not impressed - I was stay near by and came to this hotel for a drink with my partner on Saturday to see it as we have a family get-together in a months time and was considering staying here for the week but we will be staying in more inviting place will not be spending money here again Saturday evening they had no non alcoholic drinks and said they run out and all they could offer me was coffee tea and minerals, the following day we arrived at 6.30 to get some dinner and was told that they just done last orders on food we said we would have a coffee instead and at 7.30 staff said that tills were being done up for the night so couldn't get anything else to drink because they were closing hotel early on Sundays , no manager in the hotel to speak to only couple of young staff that didn't seem to know what they were doing 1 off the young ladys was walking around chewing on a lid of a pen ,went to reception to speak to man behind desk and was told he was maintenance and locked front door this is faulty towers at its best very unimpressed with this hotel

marymH9791YJ (10/5): Comfortable Hotel - Stayed here for 3 nights bed and breakfast. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Bed was so firm. Great nights sleep. I asked for an extra blanket whilst there and housekeeping helped me out. Breakfast delicious. Great choice of options. Had a delicious seafood chowder and brown soda bread from the snack menu. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a real cozy home from home vibe. Feels like the Decor has an American vibe to it which considering it’s owned by Irish/American isn’t surprising. There were roaring fires in the lounge and bar which made it so cozy. The view out over Dungloe bay is amazing. Loved it. There was music in the bar on one night and it was so beautiful to listen to a lovely talented girl play an assortment of different instruments in turn. Her voice was amazing too. So relaxing. The lift to the rooms was broken during our stay and I was recovering from a knee op so a little immobile. I had my crutch, but luckily the rooms are only a few stairs from lobby area so no problem for me. The gym was excellent also. Overall great place to stay.

They seemed to build up a relationship with many of the hotel patrons and would follow up conversations the next day they saw them. They made you feel so welcome. Food and drink selection was great. Gym facilities top class. Hotel located in great location, only a few minutes walk from the town with lovely views over the waterfront. Minor complaint is that my room didn't have a bath tub. Staff still tried to accommodate this but were unable to due to hotel being booked up. Other than this, couldn't fault our stay.

cmccoey (10/5): I want to go back again!!!!!!!!!!! - We arrived at the hotel on the 30 December for 3 nights and were greeted by such lovely staff and they could not have been more helpful from start to finish. Everything we asked for or needed assistance with was provided and honestly don't remember a hotel like this for some time now. The hotel was clean warm and very comfortable and the view from our window was just so nice. Breakfast and evening dinning were good and again the staff went over and above to ensure this. The gym was pretty amazing best I have been to in years and free to use. The children's paly area was in a good location and it was clear the hotel are trying very hard. The town itself was a few minutes walk and it had bars restaurants and shops everything you would need. I think for me it was the people in both the hotel and in the town that made it, their ability to take the time to slow the pace down, chat with you and make you feel so welcome. On Old Years night the hotel provided entertainment and a DJ that ran into the wee small hours. (the wee band was not great could do with a new one for next year but the DJ was good. That aside we had a great wee night with friends and I would come back here to explore more of the surrounding areas but stay in the Hotel it was just great and memories were made. Well done to all the staff and I hope the hotel has a busy year ahead and remains as it is now a lovely hotel with beautiful views and a calming place to stay with friends or family.

Trip26714355393 (2/5): Poor staff professionalism - Our dining experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff. From the beginning, staff members were dismissive and unfriendly, which made us feel uncomfortable rather than welcome. Several meals were forgotten entirely, resulting in a long wait while others at the table had already been served. Even after reminding staff, there was no urgency or apology, and the situation was handled poorly. To make matters worse, the dining room we were seated in had no lights on, leaving us eating in near darkness. This should never happen in a restaurant setting and shows a serious lack of attention and care. Overall, the service was unacceptable and fell far below what is expected from a hotel dining experience. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves staff professionalism and basic service standards.
