- Jnutfe (10/5): Great find - Great stay, very clean, updated, kitchen even had a dishwasher. Separate bedroom with 2nd tv. Even had bathrobes and slippers. Super friendly front desk. Had to drive to get to downtown but we had rental car, so not an issue. Even tho we had to pay for laundry, it was full sized, not the all-in-one or small sized units in other places. Would definitely stay here again.

- Jacqueline (10/5): - This was a nice, fairly new studio motel room with comfortable beds and sitting chairs. We stayed for one night. It's on a busy highway but we did not hear highway noise. The staff was incredibly nice and responsive. This location does not have any views of Lake Wanaka but is close to the town and parks.

- S2223QPhelenm (10/5): Excellent stay. - A most excellent place to stay. Very modern and exceptionally clean. Warm welcome from Rainbow. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the property. The rooms have everything you need. There are also laundry facilities. The bed linen and towels are of a very high quality. We stayed three nights and slept really well as it was such a luxurious room. We were sorry to leave.

Laundry facility was much appreciated at this stage of our travels. There’s even an iron & drying rack if needed. We enjoyed the quiet location just a short distance from town.
- Frances Lee (10/5): - This motel is exceptional! The bedroom, living area, kitchenette, and bathroom were well appointed. Everything from the kitchen utensils to the complimentary bathrobes were new and top notch. If we had stayed more than one night, we would have used the nice laundry facilities on site. The staff were very helpful, prompt, and courteous. There was a bit of noise outside near bedtime, and I know the staff has a strong no noise policy, but it was not enough to contact them, but almost. Though this facility is a bit away from downtown, it is potentially walkable or bikable there and back. I would definitely choose this facility if in the area again.

- Jennifer (10/5): - Located a stone’s throw from the center of Wanaka. Convenient location if you have a car - we preferred this location (staying outside the main area) since it was quieter. Accommodations are clean and kitchen is well stocked with all the supplies you’d need to cook and a small mini fridge. There is a Four Square supermarket about 5 min drive away. One of the newer accommodations you’ll find in the area and room is larger than a typical “motel”. Balcony is nice but the property should look into buying a small table for outside. We stayed for one night and wish we’d stayed for more.

It's not in town but an easy quick drive and parking downtown isn't too much of an issue ( not sure during peak summer time?). Room had views of the mountains.
- 937brucep (10/5): West Meadows Motel Wanaka - Delightful and very comfortable experience at the West Meadows Motel in Wanaka. We tried to stay in locally NZ owned motels, booked through the motel website, and uniformly have found them to be friendly and welcoming in that wide open NZ style that no chain hotel can match. The West Meadows Motel met all our criteria for friendliness, cleanliness, outstanding design, and comfort including kitchen facilities and a splendid bathroom. The motel does need a car to get into central Wanaka but one assumes that if you are at a motel you will have a car! Plenty of parking downtown on the lake. Thank you Rainbow!

- 718mardis (10/5): Really, really nice - We only arrived late yesterday, and we are only staying a couple of nights, but I am so impressed by this little motel I have to review it immediately. It’s not in the middle of town, and it’s on a fairly busy road, so if a little bit of traffic noise in the morning is going to bother you, this may not be the place for you. However, with the lovely welcome from Rainbow on reception, the really great layout and design of the units (not the decor, it’s very pleasant but not everyone’s taste) the best bathroom with a proper shower, not shower over bath, “nice” toilet paper, and a very comfortable bed, West Meadows ticks all the boxes for us. We wish we were staying longer.
- C7484XVamyp (10/5): A gem of a stay! - Truly a gem! Upscale tasteful modern furnishings, spa robes, slippers and products. Kitchen supplies amply. Staff were lovely. We had an upstairs unit with a lovely view that was conveniently reached from the back by an uphill carpark for same-lecel entry (no stairs needed). Had the best stay and would definitely come back!
- the_J_Elle (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Had a lovely overnight stay here. The woman at reception was so sweet, positive and friendly. The rooms appeared to have been recently refurbished and were very comfortable. Great value for the price. If you’re after a waterfront view, this isn’t it, but if you’re happy to drive a couple of minutes to get to the lake, this is a great option.
- ReneeHoliday (10/5): A great place to stay! - We had to extend our stay in Wanaka due to weather on the west coast preventing us from travelling, and we are thrilled that we did. There was a fill in manager while the current managers were on leave, and she was exceptional (I apologise as I cannot remember her name). We were in a 1 bedroom apartment on the top floor which had phenomenal views. The room was very well presented and immaculately clean. The bed was so comfortable, and there was a lot of room in the apartment. There is a guest laundry, which is very handy. The walk into town was an easy walk, and we spent a lot of time walking around the lake. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to any traveller.

- johnthepick (10/5): Excellent Disability Unit Friendly Owners - We stayed in the wheelchair friendly disability unit for two nights. Grab bar for the toilet is on the left and the grab bar is on the left side next to the fold down shower seat. It was perfect for our needs. Room also included a kitchenette with a small refrig and 2 burner hot plate. Owner offered us a late check out which we took advantage of. Hotel is located at the edge of town but everything is new and in excellent shape. With a vehicle, anyone will be fine here. It is quiet location and very clean and tidy. We would highly recommend staying here

- Momelco (10/5): Can I move in?!! - WOW! West Meadows Motel has now set the bar for New Zealand Motels – I wish I could have stayed longer. I made my reservation on Agoda. The check-in/out process was easy and I appreciate that they allow for late check-ins. The office is open until 9 p.m. and if you arrive and no one is at the desk, they have a phone available that dials them directly. The office has several pamphlets for nearby activities and maps. The facility is newly built and is beautiful – everything is clean and new. There is an onsite laundry room if needed. The location feels a bit like the suburbs and it’s very quiet. The location isn’t too far from the main road and the golf course is around the corner. The mountain views are stunning when you walk out of your door. The attention to detail that went into designing and decorating the unit (decorative pillows, cup coasters, table and chairs, etc.) made it feel like home. Each unit also has a small table and chairs and/or plants outside. Definitely recommend adding this one to your list. The town is SUPER cute too – there are a lot of activities, restaurants, etc.

- Randall (10/5): - Our one bedroom apartment at The West Meadows motel was exceptional with brand, new modern furniture and top-of-the-line appliances. There was a separate bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed, and television in the bedroom. There was a second television in a large comfortable living space that also included a stereo system for music. We stayed on the second floor, and even though there are no elevators, there is a separate parking lot upstairs so that you can simply wheel your luggage into your bedroom. The shower could benefit from replacement of the showerhead as the water spray could not be directed and was spread too widely but otherwise we had no complaints. The laundry on the grounds was clean and worked well. The motel is located on a major road so we slept with the windows closed and it was quiet. it is a short drive to downtown. We would highly recommend this motel and Wānaka.

- LC1331 (10/5): Most luxurious motel ever! - This was the most posh, beautifully decorated, luxurious motel we have ever stayed in. Everything was wonderful: the comfy big bed, the large, well-appointed kitchen, spacious living area, beautiful bathroom with heated towel racks. Parking was convenient and free, and it was an easy drive to the lake, to hiking trails, and the fun restaurants downtown. Amazing value, and I should also mention the excellent service.
- lenivtsa (10/5): Brand new, clean, comfortable! - This motel changed the definition of motels for me! Everything in the room was brand new, clean, and comfortable. The shower was strong, kitchenette fully appointed with dishwasher (!), towels, dishes/cookware, and all things for tea/coffee. Fresh milk provided at reception. It’s located on the outskirts of town, but Wanaka is small and with a car, you’re at the lake in 5 minutes. Definitely stay here for a relaxing time and good sleep.

It's just a bit far from the parking area so if you have lots of heavy things it's just the transferring will be the challenge. 1st: The Size. spacious bathroom/shower area. Also, huge space for the living area, bedroom and kitchen space. 2nd: Cleanliness: Very nice and so clean -no issues with the tidiness and cleanliness- they cleaned and made our beds the next day and refill our needed supplies & stocks like body gels, shampoo. They emptied our trash bin. 3rd: Distance: It's a bit far form the central town if you will just walk but if you have car there's no issues. It's a quick drive. 4th:Comfortability: I like the bed! my most favorite!. very comfy and so soft, like I just wanna lay on the bed all day heheh We had a very good sleep. The only thing that maybe a discomfort was our room was near the road so at night time we can hear clearly the cars passing by. so if you are a light sleeper it might not be for you, you can choose a different unit that's far from the road. 5th: kitchen: I love cooking so I was able to try the kitchen, everything works that's good. If you could provide a pan and spatula/ turner for frying much better. Also, a big pot for soup. There are 2 or 3 pots but too small. If there's a rice cooker it will be more fantastic. The diswasher was a plus too. Lastly, a trash bin for recyclables pls. there's only 1 bin for general waste. Add: I love there's 2 TV-1 in living room and 1 in the room. I love it!!!-can connect your netflix and lots of sky channels to choose. Big mirrors! 1 big mirror in the bathroom and 1 body size mirror in the bedroom, it's so convenient. Overall, just minor issues and can easily resolve. We will definetely come back again. Highly recommend! Excellent!

- Scott (6/5): Don't have room with connecting door - Bottom line is always "would I stay here again" and unfortunately the answer is no which is a real pity because in almost all respects this hotel was first class. It was spotlessly clean, had great kitchen facilities (including space to store stuff), comfortable bed, lovely shower room with rain shower. The views from both bathroom and balcony were fabulous. At this point we were wishing we'd booked for more than one night. Then people arrived in the next door apartment (to which there was a locked connecting door) and it immediately became clear that there was no sound insulation at all through the door. You could hear everything they did and said. You could hear whole conversations. Presumably they could hear us too which didn't encourage relaxation. To be honest there was the same sound insulation as in a tent. Now if they could guarantee a room without connecting door I may consider staying again, but without that guarantee never again.
- Aus_tvantenna (10/5): Great 2-night stay - From the moment we arrived into the immaculate carpark, it was clear that this was a top venue. After check-in, we found our room to be spotless and large enough for our international traveller-size baggage. A kitchenette within wasn’t used by our stay, but was there if needed. The bathroom was also spacious and immaculate. The best and most practical of any motel we have ever stayed in. We stayed 2 nights, and during our next day outing, the room was serviced with all those detailed touches. Highly recommended, with great mountain views from the bathroom and our balcony on the opposite side of the building.
- DebbieY319 (10/5): Top choice motel in Wanaka - The best motel ever? I think so! Don’t pay a fortune for a lake view in Wanaka when you will be out and about round it anyway. This quiet, comfortable, spotless and super welcoming motel is perfect for a short or longer stay. Loads of space, light, amenities and beautifully modern. Loved it.
- Olga (10/5): - This hotel was like a dream! The service was phenomenal, when we were late in checking in, coming from the airport, Matt waited for us after us to check us in personally. The hotel has a fantastic placement with a view of Wanaka lake and amazing mountain ranges. It takes the same amount of time to travel to Treble Cone and Cardrona from the hotel (about 30 mins). You can go to the Wanaka lake area for breakfast but there is also an excellent place nearby to have dinner with woodfired pizza. Everyday coming back from the mountains exhausted, we would find our room completely clean with all the tea/coffee/cookies renewed, fresh towels and newly made beds. We will definitely come back next winter!
- Sessi (10/5): LOVED THIS PLACE. WILL DEFINITELY RETURN - Had a wonderful 5 day stay with my daughter at this spotlessly clean and very comfortable hotel/motel . We were in Wanaka for a wedding and we were so happy with our choice to stay here. It exceeded our expectations. Matt and Paul were wonderful hosts giving great recommendations and happy to drop us off into town as often as we needed to. This was great for us as we didn't have a car . We stayed in a 1 bed apartment with a comfy bed, great heating, clean kitchen and very nice bathroom with great heating in there too. We loved it and would definitely return in a heart beat. Thankyou Matt and Paul for your hospitality and congratulations on running a friendly and SPOTLESS establishment.
- agentjm12 (10/5): Deserves its high rating - outstanding motel! - We stayed at the West Meadows Motel for just one night but I could happily have stayed much longer. The rooms feel new, clean, thoughtfully designed, aesthetically pleasing and extremely comfortable. Small touches such as heated towel rails and anti-fog bathroom mirrors, cute cushions, and the room being heated before our arrival. It is even more appealing than it seems in the pictures and presented great value for money, especially as it's only a 2-minute drive to town. We stayed in a top level king studio and had lovely views across to the mountains in the distance, and the upper carpark around the back meant we had easy access and didn't have to lug our bags up the stairs. Our hosts were warm, friendly and helpful, and did me a generous little favour in regards to amenities that put a huge smile on my face! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we hope to be back one day!

- Kathy (10/5): Wanaka contemporary hotel - Must be almost brand new. Contemporary, well stocked kitchenette and room. We liked being away from the crowds downtown. Wonderful view of mountains from room.
