• Jeffrey (9/5): - Lovely host. Beautifully renovated historic property. Enjoyable experience as we had the whole house to ourselves to explore and relax at the end of our NZ North Island trip. Special memory. (Heritage Suite) Ensuite small but adequate. An extra easy chair would be have nice but not an issue as we had a whole guest sitting room to ourselves on the nights we stayed.

• Alisha (10/5): We stayed here with our bridal party before our wedding. The facilities were amazing, got some perfect getting ready pho - The vibes and look of the villa we exactly as pictured. The hosts went above and beyond, they are truely the best.
• Avila (7/5): Acceptable. - Beautiful house, lovely room, comfortable bed, nice and helpful owner/manager. The room, while beautiful and as nice as it could be, only contained a bed, bedside tables and lamps and another small table. No chair, no coffee maker, no place to put your suitcase except on the floor. The ensuite had no towel rails, nor any where to put your toiletries except on the floor of the shower. So, while very nicely done, not very practical. The bed was very comfortable, the lady who ran it was lovely and there was a kitchen down the hall, which was well stocked and modern.
• Russ (7/5): A okay stay, but probably wouldn’t stay again due to the noise from the traffic. - We stayed in one of the two bedroom units with good size bedrooms. The master was extra large, it looks like it is a converted lounge. I believe that you can also stay in the main house, which looks lovely. Comfy beds. Had most of what we needed Walking distance to supermarket, 20 minutes or so It was very close to a main road, so it was very noisy at night, the traffic woke me up about 04:30. ( I think that if you stayed in the main house, the noise would probably be far less annoying). I don’t feel that it was good value for the money we paid. (you may get a better rate??)

• Dutta (9/5): The accommodation was perfect for us. - The place was super clean, spacious, airy and had lots of light. The kitchen was big enough for food prep and cooking meals. I liked that we could also sit outside. The location was central and handy. It is possible to walk to the town centre for dinner and have drinks. And the manager was lovely and helpful. The oven door didnt close nicely but I didnt need to use the oven. I was invited to use the oven in the main house kitchen if I needed. The bathroom was dated but it was super clean which is the most important factor for me.

Large lounge with a comfortable suite and TV with Sky available. Leanne, the owner, was very friendly and had a great pride in the property.

• Helen (3/5): Catfished. Nothing like the photos - It was clean. The bed was comfortable I was expecting to stay in the beautiful house as per the photos. However, “a motel room” is actually one of the ugly old bungalows outside the house. It was a truly dismal affair. Worst place we stayed in New Zealand. No climate control in the bedrooms, just an air conditioner outside the rooms and it didn’t penetrate the bedrooms. It was all so primitive and old. I hated it. We left early morning. No garden - not even a tree to protect you from the sun and provide a bit of privacy. We had to keep the blinds shut for any privacy. You could hear trucks in the road and people talking. The bathroom was unbelievably primitive- something you’d see in a 50s caravan park. No water pressure in the ridiculous shower. No shelves to put your soap or toiletries just the stainless steel floor. The lighting was very poor However what really annoys me is the dishonesty. It should be clearly stated that you will have no access to the beautiful house and the “motel rooms” should be more aptly named

We were surprised the shower floor hadn’t been shaped by tiler so that the water flowed down the drain. Our floor got very wet which could have been a danger.

Cooking and dining facilities are available if you want and the owners are always available and happy to help out with whatever else you want. Nothing really.

Everything of finest quality and very well set up kitchen. Lovely gardens We liked everything, If we’re being picky maybe the shower in en suite could have door of some kind instead of curtain.

• Adtienne (8/5): A beautifully maintained, charming property perfect for our one-night stay with super comfy bed! - We loved the heritage and history of the beautiful grand villa, well maintained and amenities were great. It was warm, cosy and very charming which was great, because there is always a risk with older premises being cold and creepy! Nothing really, as long as you are aware that in the Villa you might have to share the kitchen, dining and lounge with other guests if you want to spread out. We were the only guest this night, but it wouldnt have bothered us to meet others in the shared spaces.

I got ready in minutes by choosing one of the recommended ones and was on it straight away rather than losing precious time on scrolling through pages and reviews about the hikes. The place was very central, quiet and peaceful. Would love to stay there again when I'm in the vicinity.

• Steph (10/5): Great weekend in a great place. - It is a beautiful property. We booked out the house for a family wedding weekend. It suited so well. Lots of space, and the ability to be self contained with a large kitchen, dining, and fabulous outdoor area. The host was so accommodating. Nothing was too much. I would absolutely recommend.
