- Gemma (1/5): Falta d'humanitat - El pati Normalment no acostumo a deixar males ressenyes però aquest allotjament no hauria ni d'existir. Primer de tot, al sopar, al interior del menjador estava ple de gossos del carrer (m'agraden els gossos però no menjant), un gos es va posar a cagar al costat de la nostra taula. Ens vam canviar de lloc però ja vam menjar a disgust. El pitjor va venir després, cap a les 9 del vespre (no era tard) el meu marit va tenir una urgència mèdica que requeria trucar ambulància. Vaig córrer cap a recepció, vaig cridar, vaig trucar el telèfon 100 vegades, vaig picar a la porta (em devien sentir des del poble del costat) simplement em van ignorar..sort que hi havia uns hostes que em van deixar el telèfon del país per trucar. Vaig movilitzar policia i ambulàncies i la senyora de l'allotjament només es va dignar a sortir quan va arribar l'ambulància per fer el xafarder. Vam marxar un dia abans i els hi vaig escriure demanant si ens tornaven els diners de la última nit, en total havíem estat unes 3h i havíem pagat 2 nits però no es van dignar ni a contestar.. si no arriba a ser per l'hoste que hi havia, no hauríem arribat a temps a l'hospital. Ni es van dignar a preguntar com estava. Molt molt molt decepcionats, si t'ha de passar alguna cosa, ja pots resar perquè aquí ningú mourà un dit per tu, siguis client no, hi ha una falta d'humanitat enorme.

- marie line (10/5): Une belle expérience dans une nature magnifique - Un joli petit hôtel très convivial où le personnel est efficaces très professionnels et d’une grand gentillesse !!!! Nous avons pu faire une longue marche dans la forêt avec un guide qui nous a fait découvrir ce beau lieu et observer les quetzales ces oiseaux rares asa longue queue et ses couleurs flamboyantes !!!! Tout cela offert c’était une grand moment Tout Le restaurant très joli Leurs plats succulents et très copieux !!!! Je le recommande

The included breakfast is excellent with local natural products. The common areas (game room, library, lounge, restauranr) are comfortable and stylish. Rug in the room was old and worn down.

- Amy (9/5): A hotel that offers a unique common area with art, games and books in a creative cozy atmosphere - Breakfast was wonderful! They light the little fireplace, and its so pretty and cozy while you eat. My favorite was the Ping Pong table anf foozball. But also I loved the soft jazz and classical music in the background. The ambiance is artistic and intellectual - there are tons of books and maps, paintings. We really enjoyed ourselves. I liked the salad bar a lot. I'd have to really think. Its just that this was a unique place. I liked this place very much. I'm sorry.

- Pele (10/5): Feel at home in this quaint mountain town - I loved the common hang out area behind the dining area. It was cozy & comfortable and had lots of fun games. (ping pong, fusbol, board games, etc...) The restaurant staff were so friendly, the food was very good and the breakfast buffet was really nice. The rooms were a good size and the bed was very comfortable with 2 fuzzy, warm blankets and a fluffy comforter. All around excellent stay. N/A. All was great.

- Kathryn (10/5): A wonderful hotel in a stunningly beautiful place with great staff and delicious food. - The location is amazing, a stunningly beautiful village in the mountains, close to the forest and great hiking trails. The staff were super friendly and couldn't have done more for us. The food was fantastic too... every day there was fresh fruit for breakfast and a salad bar stocked mainly with produce from the hotel's garden. All the food was freshly prepared, and delicious. At the weekend there was a buffet breakfast and during the week it was a la carte. We especially liked the pancakes for breakfast, the soups, home made bread, pizzas and pastas, and the wine selection. Our room was very comfortable, and there were seats on the balcony looking out past the hummingbird feeders (with plentiful birds at all times) to the garden. All in all it was a super relaxing stay, in a beautiful location surrounded by friendly staff and great food.
- Lloyd (6/5): Los Quetzales - When I arrived to check in, I could not find anyone. Fortunately, a dog came and found me and me and led me to someone who checked me in. I reserved a room with a fireplace but was told that if I wanted a fireplace, I would have to pay extra. Room was very cramped and always cold. Water eventually ran hot but in a limited supply. Dining room options were limited but the food was good. Loved the balcony porch overlooking the garden. Very friendly dogs

The hotel has board games, ping pong tables and a library that I really enjoyed. Food safety is not good. There’s a lot of flies inside the restaurant and near the salad bar. The hotel have not taken any countermeasures to control that (like UV lamps to kill flies). The room needs an upgrade. Our mattress was hard and the sheets had a little of dust.

- BELISARIO (10/5): Relajante en todos los sentidos. - Los quetzales siempre será muy recomendado de mi parte, sobre todo para las personas que buscan desconectarse de todo el bullicio y estrés de la ciudad. El clima lo máximo, el servicio del personal excelente, la habitación cómoda, la verdad 1000% recomendados.

- Victor (8/5): If you look for cool weather in Panama! - We were there just one night. Got there past 8 pm, hungry and the restaurant was already closed, didn’t get much help from the staff. It took them half an hour to charge my credit card for the cost of the room and we had to drive 20 minutes, back to the city, to find a place to eat. Back at the room it was cozy with a fire place. It was really cold, loved it. We had a great sleep. In the morning, I was amazed by the place, the gardens, the mountains and town, the breakfast, the coffee, the main building is awesome. We tried to stay one more night, but staff couldn’t find a way. Plenty of things to do at Cerro Punta and around Tierras Altas, need to go there again for a longer stay. Hopefully next time they will have better service.

- Zachary (8/5): A great stay at a beautiful ecolodge tucked into the mountains with all the wildlife you could want! - We loved the location and the property. It was so beautiful, and tucked away in this small town in the mountains. There were tons of birds around, and the hiking and birdwatching tours were amazing! The staff were also pretty helpful, though could be hard to find at some times because we were there during a slow time. The food at the property was ok, pretty much average Panamanian food on the days that we were there, and we were there during a slow time so the restaurant wasn't consistently open. Otherwise, it was great!

We recommended that have more staff because they aren’t enough from all the things that we can do on the hotel. On the restaurant we said that for a good experience the breakfast be free for the total parties or family because only count 2 breakfasts.

They asked for a deposit, but this was not taken into account at the time of check in and it was a bit complicated to get the money back. They pretend not to know that the main attraction in their immediate vicinity, the Quetzal trail, has been closed for 3 years, but they arranged to bring us there for extra money. They can't even call a taxi, after a long wait we had to take a bus. The paint is peeling off the walls. Helpful and kind, but totally unable stuff. The stuff had minimal English abilities, and although either of us speak Spanish, so the communication from our side was perfect, they couldn’t solve basic problems either.

- George (6/5): Great location, comfortable lodge, noisy room - The lodge is nice and in an interesting area of Cerro Punta. The restaurant (food was ok) was understaffed, surprising since it is high season in Panama. The room we had, on 2nd floor, facing the river, was roomy and attractive. But, the thin walls and noise from the 3rd floor occupants made the stay a unpleasant. Also, outside of the room is a common deck - other guests collected there and we could hear every word they said for hours.

Das Frühstück ist ein schlechter Schwerz, aber zwei Häuser weiter kann man günstig im Restaurant Monica frühstücken.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Poor value, not as advertised - Pictures and website confuse the quetzales hotel with the quetzales cabins. They don't make it clear that if you're staying in the hotel, you're in a town, not in the mountains or forest. Also in general, the place felt run-down and understaffed. The hot tubs were in total disrepair, the rooms were not as pictured and the restaurant food was overpriced and mediocre. In general it didn't feel worth the money. On the plus side, the staff were really helpful with advice on activities in the area and the spa was a good value.

Restaurant wasn't working and supposedly being renovated, although we saw no work material or personnel working. Spa closed. Facilities are starting to show signs of age. Garden needs weeding and greenhouses are in poor repair. Room was good but heavy rain showed some leaks through the roof. Already too expensive for what they little offer. Won't be going back.

- cory (8/5): Beautiful and remote - It is a very beautiful hotel set in a quaint tiny town. We stayed at the main lodge in town which was beautiful but wish we would have rented one of the cabins up the road. We hiked up the road to the cabins and it was one the most beautiful areas I've ever hiked in - enchanting rainforest with birds and moss covered flora and fauna all around. We saw a quetzal right by cabin number 8 which is the furthest one away. Make sure you understand that the cabins are remote and you have to arrange with the main lodge to bring you back and forth and they also can bring you foods from the restaurant which is good. The area is cold and we built a fire in the fireplace each night which was kind of fun but did make our room smell slightly of smoke. There isn't really much to do besides hiking and enjoying the beauty but there is lots of beauty to enjoy. Great spot to get away and relax but not so great if you're looking for a thrilling adventure. The lodge has a great common area with ping pong, Foosball, board games, and lots of relaxing spots where the kids had a lot of fun.
