• Kevin (9/5): The Thornhill is the perfect venue for a stay in Teignmouth.. - The location is just an easy ten minute walk from the railway station and situated on the seafront . The breakfast was superb and extremely good value. There is nothing to dislike about the service provided by Sandra Stevenson and her family at the Thornhill.

Room service every day. Breakfast was tasty and delicious with a wide choice on the menu. Would highly recommend this lovely hotel. There was nothing, that I can think off ,to improve the overall experience that we received.
• Julia (10/5): Fantastic breakfast and huge room - We had a huge room with an en-suite and a massive and very comfortable bed. As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast was excellent! Great location just a few steps from the seafront and easy access into town. We parked on the seafront and although we had to pay for parking it was no issue as we used our car throughout the day and it is free after 6pm. I would definitely stay again if I return to Teignmouth.

I can’t say if I overlooked this or if it didn’t say when I booked it. but it is something I would check again. We did have a private bathroom for our use only but as I am up at all times was a bit of a pain as I thought I may be disturbing others. No parking for hotel. Free parking 6pm-9am out on road outside, car park up the road which is payable

• Deborah (9/5): As a solo traveller, this was a perfect place for me. Relaxed, old-world charm with modern touches. - Beautiful room overlooking the seafront. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Could hear the waves crashing at night! Exceptionally clean and tidy room, lovely furnishings, very clean and functional bathroom. Great options at breakfast time, beautifully cooked food. Nice and relaxed. Friendly and helpful hosts. Cleaning staff also very friendly and helpful. Hotel is perfectly located on the flat, with easy access to the beach, promenade, cliff walks and just a few minutes from town and railway station. Absolutely loved my stay here. For me personally, I couldn't fault this place. Loved it!

Everything was clean, tidy and well looked after. Hosts were excellent, always obliging and helpful. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice on the menu. Teignmouth is a lovely quaint English seaside town. Nothing that we didn't like.

Bedrooms were spotlessly clean, and serviced daily like magic! The hotel was located in a good central position close to train and bus Stations. Teignmouth is a delight to explore with many small shops, cafes etc. A short ferry trip to Shaldon, across the Estuary is well worth a visit.

Immaculately clean room but frosted glass window ,so no view. Very clean small shower room ,lovely towels and toiletries. Pleasant TV lounge and bright airy breakfast room, friendly service with delicious range or breakfast food. No outside view, and I would not book that single again there as it was a disappointment at £80 per night ,slightly off season.

• David (9/5): Pleasant stay in Teignmouth - A very well run guest house in a good location. Everything was spotlessly clean, the hosts were welcoming and the breakfasts were excellent and cooked to order. The shower worked well and the pressure and temperature were easy to adjust. The ensuite facilities (room 11) were quite cramped and would probably not suit a larger person. However, I appreciate that these would have been a later addition to the property.

The location was excellent being over the road from the beach, two blocks from the train station or the shops and restaurants. My room was clean and certainly would accommodate 2 adults. Bathroom was a tad small, but clean. I did have to juggle parking, but it is close to the train station

• Rodrigo (10/5): Lovely stay at Thornhill - The location is great. Owners are really attentive, and they got the ground floor room, which was wheelchair friendly, from entrance to the shower. Breakfast had the same menu every day but with several options available and cooked at the moment it was ordered. There was no parking in the property, but street parking was safe, and there was plenty of additional parking in the train station 5 min walking distance.

• Leslie (8/5): Very good - Lady owner was very nice and works hard to make her hotel exceptional. My wife and I travel a lot, the breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel anywhere. It's an old building but very typical of many hotels in Devon. However the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern.

Clean and Comfortable B&B - Great Location - 2 mins walk to the beach, 5 mins walk to the train station or town Clean rooms - rooms were spotless - nice touches such as biscuits and sweets Great views from some of the rooms Lovely lounge although we did not use it A good range of items for breakfast The owners son and sister were very welcoming on our second morning On arrival we felt rushed to make decisions as we were immediately asked what time we wanted our breakfast. This was after a long drive and we had not even been shown to our rooms or given a chance to use the bathroom or get a drink! Limited timeframe for breakfast - 8.30 to 9.30am. Also we felt that we were putting the owners out of their way when we requested the same breakfast time for the majority of our group, and a slightly earlier or later breakfast time for three of our group as they were taking part in the Park Run. We were happy to go to breakfasts at slightly differing times as we were a group of 9. However, whilst the owners did accommodate our request for a slightly earlier and later time, it really felt as if we were inconveniencing them.

Hotel was quiet and a great location to explore from The shower was a little fiddly to get running at a good temperature but with a little perseverance it was fine.
